Very nice volume. Tryhard fanboys pump the price twice, the price and volume continue to decrease afterwards, volume was again back to extremely low levels yesterday. Get the bigger picture, pump and dump, BTC is done. This is not how you attract masses, if you want to attract masses to sponsor your pyramid scheme, you gonna need to solve a problem for the masses, not for drug cartels.
I detect a little underlying butthurt.  Why should i be butthurt? Im investing elsewhere, im not the one losing 90% of his investment in minutes. (bubble, cough, cough) I probably have more money than you sitting in this one commodity. Go shill elsewhere. |

The last two bitcoin breakouts have occured on a full moon. Both times I looked up in the sky at the moon and decided to throw in the towel as a bear and buy (or place a stop order). Could the full moon have something to do with bitcoin breakouts? Are we to expect now a consolidation until another breakout on the next full moon?

I was reading a forum post when the price was around 30. Many predicted the price to be 1000 in 2016 (and did not predict even 100 so soon).
Now, most posters are talking about 2000-5000 next year. Is this short term bullish thinking healthy for the main goal of cryptos (alternative option)?
Is it better to think term bullish (x amount by 2016 etc) for a more steady growth in the community?

Not even sure that the small errors in the physic models are needed. The beauty of René Thom"s chaos theory is that the non-determinism lies deep within the maths.
As an example, even if you know very precisely the speed and the position of the solar's system planets, and the external perturbations, you just can't do the maths, the 3-bodies equations are already too complicated to be solved. And which planet will be ejected from the solar system is still a mystery.
You don't need to solve the equations though. In a deterministic universe, if you know precisely the starting conditions, you could run a simulation and get the prediction. Chaos theory says that small perturbations in the starting conditions can lead to vastly different outcomes. Quantum physics says small perturbations are intrinsic. Even with two initially identical systems, things will occur in one which will not in the other. But to run a simulation you need to be able to solve the 3-body equations... Unless you're running some sort of simplified heuristic simulation, in which case it could never be absolutely deterministic anyway. You have to distinguish practical predictability from theoretical predictability. Chaos theory (as well as the difficulty in solving 3-body equations and such) make the universe practically unpredictable. Quantum theory (and only quantum theory) make the universe theoretically unpredictable. Quantum theory makes the universe absolutely unpredictable on the quantum scale. |

Merchant adoption =/= increase in demand The people already using Bitcoin will buy with Bitcoin. The news and media attention might bring more interested parties, yes. |

Any mentally healthy person wouldnt build his business on BTC, any smart person will invest money in BTC because it is controlled by few people, and you never know what will happen tomorrow: will they pump it? Or maybe sell everything and wave you bye bye? Bitcoin was created by DARPA as a means to slowly introduce a paperless, cashless, society. Satoshi is not a single person but represents an entire collective of spook geeks. Just like they released the Wild West of the Internet, they released Bitcoin. They have slowly reigned in freedom from the Internet and have turned it into a mass surveillance grid. They will do the same with bitcoin. These new layers that will be added, would be a valuable asset to new types of legal contracts and other things. Will bitcoin be overshadowed by these new innovations?
