Why not just use the blockchain to decide the winner..
Check the collectables board, we use the hash from a future block to find a raffle winner

PSA is notoriously one of the most difficult 3PG's to "recognize" new sets.  We would expect that they will grade these at some point in the future, but you may have better luck with another 3PG in the meantime.
@JUPITYR, I thought you were working with Mike Baker Authenticated to have these graded by PSA, what was the outcome there?

My understanding is that the MR cards come in 3 different versions:
1. Crystal Sparkle (borderless) -> These seem to be the most common MR cards found. Not technically a Meta-Rare "Refractor" though
2. Holofoil (HF) -> The true Meta-Rare Refractor cards, high gloss, thick laminated cards. The odds of pulling one is 1:124 or higher
3. Gemstone - (numbered cards) -> Very rare

MJ made a great post here with pics that show all versions of the MR cards:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5406560.msg60698399#msg60698399

So it seems like the crystal sparkle meta-rare cards can be considered as part of the crystal sparkle set, or they can be considered essentially like a "base" version of the meta-rare cards, while the holofoils are the 1:124 odds cards. The CS MR cards can also be considered "error cards" or part of a unique set, themselves, but there are likely more than 124 of each, meaning a total of somewhere above 11x124 = 1364 total CS MR cards exist, probably at least double or maybe 4 times that number. They are apparently no more rare than any other CS card so the odds of finding one might be expected to be 1:2 (odds of finding a CS card) times 11:73 (number of MR out of total card CS card designs) or 11:146 = around 1:13 pack odds. If we know the total number of cards of all types produced, we could probably back out a good estimation of the number of each card produced...

Referring to the crystal sparkle MR as essentially "base" MR cards or part of the CS set is a good idea, sounds ok to me. Unfortunately not all of the MR cards come in crystal sparkle, so it would be impossible to make a CS set with all MR cards included.
They could also be considered "error cards" in a way, but since there is so many i don't think that would add any value.

The 1:124 odds relates to per pack odds, it doesn't mean there are only 124 of each card.
288  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN/INFO] CARDSMITHS - CURRENCY SERIES 1 TRADING CARDS on: October 26, 2022, 03:20:13 AM

The 1:124 MR are the ones on the bottom row in MJ's picture with the border.

A small consolation is that adding the MR card art to the CS population means there are fewer of each of those designs to be found in CS.  Yes, it does mean that collectors will need to be on guard and be able to spot the differences.

Just to clarify then, are you saying that Holofoil MR cards are actually more rare than a Crystal Sparkle MR?

Sound like that to me

Oh man, I bought one of the Meta-Rare crystal sparkle cards. It does indeed say MR1 on the top right, so it is clearly a meta-rare card. It definitely looks crystal sparkly, like the other CS cards that I have... Is it an "error card"? Are there non-sparkly "base" meta-rare cards? Inquiring minds want to know if the CS, holofoil, or refractor MR cards are the most rare!

Thanks MJ
I am aware that the MR cards come in both CS and HF, I am just trying to confirm which one is the "real" meta-rare, the one with the odds of 1:124

From the post above by JUPITYR it sounds like the CS version of the MR cards are an error and not found at the same odds, therefore would likely not be worth as much on the secondary market.
I feel bad for anyone who has purchased a crystal sparkle MR thinking it was "meta-rare"
290  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN/INFO] CARDSMITHS - CURRENCY SERIES 1 TRADING CARDS on: October 25, 2022, 11:02:11 AM
Is it just me or do the meta-rare cards seem to be more common than the stated odds (1:124)

I just watched a break on YouTube and they pulled about 4 from a case
Also HouseOfBAMF pulled 4 from their case.

Could the 1:124 odds maybe relate to a gemstone version of the MR cards, not a HF or CR versions..

Great question.

While the Meta-Rare card art shows up in the Crystal Sparkle (borderless) foil slots, those are not technically the Meta-Rare "Refractors".  Refractors are much thicker card stock and go through a lamination process that the other foils do not.  Also, the Refractor background has a rainbow effect with no "sparkle" in the foil pattern.  If you put them next to each other you will quickly start to spot the differences.

It was not originally intended for the Meta-Rare art to show up in the Crystal Sparkle slot, but we had to have something go wrong. ;-)

Regardless, the actual refractors should still only appear 1:124 packs as indicated.

Sorry for the confusion.
Thanks for jumping in.
So the odds of finding a CS meta-rare would be less than 1:124
Would you say the card shown on the link below is a "real" meta-rare card?

Got to keep going for all the holos and sparkles now. Pretty much everytime i open packs i get enough cards that sell on secondary market to cover the cost of the packs. Not that im selling them, but the strong secondary has been impressive. Just wait 5 years when all the cards are sold out and ebay starts to dry up. These are probably a better return than your 401k.

I keep making base card sets I think I have 4 now… working on holifoil and CS sets now…

Contemplating getting another large box but I have so many extra base cards as it is…

Where are you selling your extras?
im not selling them. So many base cards theres no market for base cards yet. In years there will be a market but not now. Was thinking about a card burn.. like a token burn. Everyone burns some base cards and post pics. Decrease the overall market.
Haha, i love it. Wait till i have my base set together before the burn please  Cheesy

If you need any CS or HF cards let me know what ones and i might be able to help you out. All you would need to cover is shipping costs.
I am just happy to make a base set, hopefully one with all the MR cards too

480 cards total 4 meta rare… I would say it’s 1:120 odds of getting one per card for the meta rare. The cold foil and the redeemable cards seem to be the most rare to me both have been 1:480 cards
The odds I quoted are per pack (sorry, I should have made that clear), Meta-Rare Refractors are stated as being 1:124 packs  Huh
Is there a difference between meta-rare and meta-rare refractors?

The redemption cards are 1:96 packs (48 boxes) so 1 per case.
The CF cards are very rare, exact odds not known

Edit: This post shows a breakdown of the odds:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5406560.msg60667146#msg60667146
(The post has an error, holofoil cards have a boarder and the crystal sparkle version is borderless)

So you got 4x Meta-Rare cards in 1 case, that's amazing considering the odds of finding one (1:124).
The MR5 holofoil with the gold boarder is definitely a keeper, beautiful card and in my opinion better looking than the CS version.

It still looks like more crystal sparkle MR's are showing up than the holofoil versions so far.
The MR4 and MR4a are the most common meta-rare cards I have seen.

Congrats on the gemstone cards, you got some nice ones there.
I would love to see pics of your gemstone refractor collection.

As a newbie I don't think you can post pics unless you upgrade your account, or become a member.
Only way around it is to upload some pics to an image hosting site and post the link, I think that's allowed...

This is my first post and wanted to share what I got out of the collector box (largest box) it took all packs to get a complete set of base cards. My bitcoin redemption card was for .001 btc. I got a 5000 dogecoin card not redeemable? 10gem cards, 3 meta cards, and seems true 3 reflectors/holifoils per individual box. I am 3 cards shy of a reflector/holifoil set with many extras…
Most common cards #2 #15 #8 #3 #51 #39 #42 #41

Missing base cards for 2nd complete set #7 #30

I don’t know how to attach photos yet but when I figure that out I can post how I have them sorted and slabbed.

Thanks for sharing.
Was the case you purchased 48 boxes? (96 packs in total)
If so 3x meta-rare cards is very good, considering they are apparently 1:124 packs (This is why i wish case hits and above were numbered cards)
What MR cards did you get? Were they holofoil or the boarder less crystal sparkle versions?

1x redemption card is standard per case, sorry you didn't hit something bigger.
The 5000 doge card you speak of, are you sure that is not the CF Shiba inu card? Shown here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5406560.msg60617106#msg60617106

What holofoil and crystal sparkle cards do you need?
I suggest you post in the trade thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5407863.40

Thanks for sharing MJ

The art on these cards is amazing, they look good in all versions. I would love to see a gold gemstone MR5 holofoil.

Edit: I seen a gold gemstone lambo posted somewhere, looks awesome
