281  Economy / Speculation / Re: Call the bottom on: June 15, 2017, 06:22:34 PM
We should be glad that we have price dip. It will only introduce more users to the bitcoin, they will be motivated by a fact that bitcoin is much cheaper that last ATH.
Every price crash is a sign for newcomers to hop on and invest. Is ts most that certain that even higher ATH will be formed.
The lower the dip the bigger price could spike in the future. The only question is: how low it can go this time around?
282  Economy / Speculation / Re: ITT: We laugh at idiot HODLers [OFFICIAL THREAD] on: June 15, 2017, 06:13:45 PM
Op, it is not really a secret that if you would successfully sell your coins at every ATH and then rebuy more coins with fiat, you would achieve the best possible trading efficiency.
There is a problem with this strategy - you can fail, miss ATH, miss maximum downward trend - in short there might be major fuck up along the way.
Some people are just not confident enough in their trading abilities and in opt to be safer rather that richer.
283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ladies and Gentlemen, Bitcoin is about to be Centralized on: June 14, 2017, 08:49:28 PM
Hasn't it been centralizing for a while now?
Centralized like what? Regarding hash power mainly coming from China you are right, but this is not centralization.
Real centralization would be when we will have one person standing behind bitcoin, having ultimate power over it and influencing its evolution.
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [vDice.io]►Ethereum Blockchain Gambling►►**New & Awesome Version of Site on: June 13, 2017, 08:27:25 PM
It's good that vDice team is working on solution to change minimal bet limit, make it scale according to dollar's price.
Since ETH price is skyrocketing there is no way I will be able to play a game when 1 bet is almost $90.

That last game with a 90% win ratio.. is that legit?
It seems that you are new to gambling, 90% chance is not some exploit or bait, it is simple math, even with 90% chance you are doomed to fail.
The higher the chance of winning is the lower the prize will be - and you will risk 100% of your money all the time.
285  Economy / Speculation / Re: can my bitcoin drop to nothing on: June 13, 2017, 07:59:06 PM
What's with all these threads about Bitcoin possibly becoming worthless? I realize this thread's from March but someone else started a new one today.

Yesterday's dip was just a normal correction, not the end of Bitcoin. It dipped to a level that many experienced Bitcoiners had called as being the new bottom. No big deal.

Ever heard of a honey badger?
It is standard, every dip, price correction, mild crash caused by FUD or tweet of some 'celebrity' will suddenly bitcoin useless in the eyes of common folk.
Bitcoin is not backed by any centralized authority - there won't be official press conference to assure investors that everything will be fine.
People will always scared that someday, somehow bitcoin will be banned and outlawed or there will be some catastrophic event to ruin it all.

The only way is to disregard all FUD.
286  Economy / Speculation / Re: can my bitcoin drop to nothing on: June 13, 2017, 07:35:08 PM
By looking at the properties and advantages of bitcoin, it seems unlikely bitcoin becomes nothing. Bitcoin a limited digital currency designed to be more useful and useful than money.
Bitcoin was amazing and new invention 8 years ago, but a lot happened. Nowadays everyone can create an altcoin with better properties than bitcoin.
We have many coins which are technically superior that bitcoin, have lower confirmation times, offers more tx per second and higher privacy & anonymity.
Technical properties is not what makes bitcoin unique anymore it is rather good initial distribution of tokens.
287  Other / Politics & Society / Re: New sanctions against Russia. on: June 12, 2017, 08:32:37 PM
This week the U.S. Senate is expected to vote for sanctions against Russia because of the Kremlin's interference in the presidential elections of 2016. I wonder why no one cites specific evidence, but sanctions are imposed.

Am wondering with all the sanctions being imposed on Russia, I am wondering why isn't Russia also imposing sanctions  on the USA as well, am sure it will be payback on them for doing things like this without proof.
You have me highly amused. What sanctions Russia could impose against the United States. Lol. Without Western technology the Russians can't create anything. They can certainly try to compensate for the expense of China, but if America and Europe start policy on return production home, very soon China will be on the same level as Russia.

In certain sectors, Russia is dependent on the American / Western technology. But you should also remember that on certain other sectors, the Americans are dependent on Russia. For example, without the Russian technology, the International Space Station (ISS) would have never got completed. And without the Russian rocket engines, the Americans won't be able to transport their astronauts to the ISS.
International Space Station is a joint project not because Americans can't manage it or need some tech from Russians but because it is easier to split cost and share tech.
Plus, it looks  much cooler if we have effort of all humanity gathered in one place tohelp us conquer the space. Russians don't have anything crucial or impossible to replace.
Joining forces with Russians is more like Public Relation publicity stunt more than anything else.
288  Economy / Speculation / Re: price after segwit? on: June 12, 2017, 08:05:39 PM
Don't be so overtly optimistic that price after SegWit activation will double or triple. Better expect something totally opposite.
It is wise to thing that there will be mass price drop before SegWit will go live, there is rather high possibility of mass panic.
People will got scared that something will go wrong with this upgrade and they will dump their coins to be safe.
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Spotting a dump just before it happens on: June 12, 2017, 07:47:32 PM
It is not possible to predict when exactly pump will happen. It is true that we can know exchange address, monitor it everyday.
But how we would know if the coins transferred belong to whale who is preparing for giant dump or it is internal exchange transfer?
We have no idea how much time someone decide to keep coins in exchange's wallet to dump it someday.
290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin and Ethereum co-exist? on: June 12, 2017, 05:53:53 PM
This question belong to the Bitcoin discussion because It's mostly for the bitcoiners but feel free to move it If you think It shouldn't be here.

As we can see, Ethereum is increasing rapidly, some might say that the market cap means absolutely nothing as It's based on supply and Ether supply is bigger then bitcoin supply, or the demand is simply increasing because of the ICOs that only accepts ETH as a payment method, others might disagree with all of the above. The question now, do you believe that both BTC and ETH can co-exist or people would switch to ETH If bitcoin ever becomes #2 on CoinMarketCap?
Regulate ICO market or remove ETH as one of payment methods and we will have ETH collapse. Ethereum is good smart contract platform attached to mediocre economy system.
Centrally controlled coin which can can be shaped to whatever Vitalik would like to do with it. Recently Vitalik and Putin had a meeting.
I wouldn't be surprised by the fact that Russia will chose to endorse ETH instead of BTC just because this coin can be controlled on higher level than BTC.

291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN DEMAND EXPLODE IN INDIA on: June 12, 2017, 05:30:03 PM
India will soon have even more impact on bitcoin economy - Reserve Bank of India and Ministry of Finance is 'Watching and learning about the development of Bitcoin".
Next year bitcoin might be fully legalized asset in India as it is 2nd most populated country in the world - it will open huge market for bitcoin.

292  Economy / Economics / Re: volatility and transaction fees... on: June 11, 2017, 09:33:05 PM
i think these things overtime will make bitcoin not as valuable.. plus the fact banks (while hated by most), have hundreds of years of reputation behind them and are easy to access... Just reading and learning about the ins and outs of bitcoin make my head hurt and I'm fairly saavy when it comes to most tech
Banks are not needed, they are parasitic entities sucking money out of our wallet, they create money out of thin air and can be the reason behind economy collapse.
Hundred years of reputation my ass.  Lehman Brothers went bankrupt after over 100 years in business. What we really need is banking service - not a Bank.
At least with bitcoin we have full transparency and total honesty about our token.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crowdsale of Braid, horror movie on: June 11, 2017, 09:11:01 PM
While i like the idea of movies being founded by cryptocurrency at the same time I hate fact that everything nowadays is founded by ICO.
Why do we need more and more useless tokens created every time someone would like to have crowdfounding?
Soon we will have millions of coins without any real life purpose other than to use it once and exchange it for BTC or other serious coin.
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: More good news for litecoin on: June 10, 2017, 04:10:07 PM
I wonder why we  can't have Lightning Network and confidential transactions in bitcoin. It is perfectly possible to implement.
Litecoin is growing like crazy - MAST alone will make LTC script language 2 generations ahead of BTC.

In the interim BTC miners are just scared to upgrade Bitcoin even so slightly, but maybe it is for the better.
After all it is nice to have LTC as testing ground before changes/upgrades can be taken over by BTC.
295  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 2500$ / $3000 ? on: June 10, 2017, 04:01:01 PM
It seems that we can wait a long time before price will finally reach $3000. RSI is treading sideways which suggest that further consolidation is happening.
We are stuck in this weird  spot when it is hard to tell whether bull run will resume or we will see beginning of downward trend.

296  Economy / Speculation / Re: [POLL] Will Bitcoin hit $ 500,000 by 2030? on: June 10, 2017, 03:20:51 PM
We couldn't even predict that bitcoin will reach $2800 so fast in 2017. How we can predict BTC price in 13 years?
One is certain - it is no impossible for bitcoin to reach $500,000 at some point. All we need is another massive global economy crisis.
There might be dollar or eurozone collapse in the near future too, after crash of that magnitude bitcoin will skyrocket to the moon.

297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you had to pick one, would it be the Legacy chain or BIP 148? on: June 10, 2017, 02:54:35 PM
There won't be any split so we won't have to pick any sides, it is clear that we will have +80% support for USAF and eventually even USAF opponents will accept it.
I don't think that bitcoin will follow Ethereum's footsteps and there will be Bitcoin and Legacy Bitcoin coexisting at the same time.
298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Altcoin? on: June 10, 2017, 12:27:27 PM
As bitcoin is expanding, it is a condition for bitcoin to last long, governments are opening up a beautiful path to the existence and development of bitcoin, and there is also a pathway for all the altcoins. Other, do not worry about that. Some altcoins are more profitable than bitcoin, which will attract people's investment, but bitcoin is always popular.
Altcoins are more volatile and explosive - therefore more attractive for speculators, and risk seekers.
Bitcoin is almost guarantee to be asset of the future. You can't go wrong with holding BTC.
Altcoins for the most part are only temporary bubbles, predatory speculation assets and quick buck making machine.
299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XRP] Ripple progress / hugh growth coming / new exchange platforms discussion on: June 09, 2017, 01:15:57 PM
Because technical analysis is the best way to estimate potential and price of every altocin /s

I wouldn't trust any technical indicator: MACD, RSI, Stochastic Oscillator, directional index.
They are too slow to predict ever changing and volatile asset like cryptocurrency.
300  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin's meteoric rise is, ironically, limiting its growth potential... on: June 08, 2017, 01:04:10 PM
Op, you are perfectly right with your assumptions that business would help stabilize price of bitcoin, but
there is no clear and open way for institutional investors money to flow into bitcoin, not yet.
We don't have bitcoin ETF and bitcoin is unregulated asset which most money managers can't even touch.
