281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Share your top mistakes in crypto - learning from others experiences! on: May 14, 2024, 05:29:14 AM
Share your top 1-5x most important mistakes you made during your journey in crypto that you won't make again and have brought you closer to success. I think we can learn a lot from the mistakes made by others.
For me, the main mistake was buying some shitcoins hoping that they would outperform bitcoin. And to be honest some of them actually did, but it's always difficult to decide when to sell, and that also means that you need to stay behind several coins/tokens while for example if you just focus on Bitcoin and maybe 3-4 altcoins maximum is way easier to keep track of everything.

I made similar mistakes too, I bought some altcoins years ago believing that they would be the next Bitcoin and they failed, maybe 2 out of 10 did very well, I could have made a lot more if I bought Bitcoin instead.

Later I found out that the problem was me, I couldn't tell the difference which coin are better for my money, so I ended up picking many bad projects, but instead of walking away I startesd learning how, today i have somw Bitcoin and lots of altcoins too, i am now better at picking them.

Bitcoin is the best investment for newbies because there isn't a lot to learn about Bitcoin, all a newbie needs is a trusted Bitcoin wallet and the right place to buy the Bitcoin, it won't take very long for newbies to decide if they are going to own Bitcoin or not, it is less complicated to understand, but it is not the same with altcoins.
282  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Non custodial wallet is not for the weak on: May 12, 2024, 05:37:44 AM
Their is no doubt about non custodial wallet as the best wallet to invest bitcoin for long-term but their are lots of responsibilities that that is required to use a non custodial wallet.  I think it is a wallet designed for specific kind of people that are willing to take responsibilities. The wallet won't be suitable for those that are not ready to be discipline and to learn to have understanding of wallet management.
Using non custodial wallet you are your own customer support, it is expected that users are to resolve issues by themselves and this will be problem for one that is not ready to learn and understand how this wallet works.
Users must take their own security measures that can be susceptible to mistakes and attacks.  I must say non custodial wallet is a good one but one must be ready to take responsibilities privacy, wallet security,  protection against fraud.

If one isn't ready to be disciplined with their hard earned money they should not invest, you can't say because you lack discipline it is a good move to give your assets out to third party for safety keep and you believe that your assets will be safe with them?

I always recommend air gapped wallet because the most common issue with crypto wallets even if they are non custodial is the internet connection, some non-custodial wallets are always online, like Electrum mobile and Trust wallet for example, if your not wallet is always offline all you need to avoid won't be as much as the wallets that are always online.

For someone who have an air-gapped wallet, all they have to worry about is keeping the recovery seeds safe, and they should never connect the wallet to any platforms.

But for non custodial wallets that are always online, you will be worried about other things like phishing links, fake tokens, fake add in history and other, even permissions that looks legit but could be dangerous.

Offline wallets are the best.
283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the main points of gambling? on: May 11, 2024, 12:24:21 PM
98% of gamblers are into gambling to make money, it is the truth and those who are doing it for fun have learned that there is no way to make constant money from gambling, they learned from their past losses and experiences so they adjust themselves.

I can say that I belong to the category of people who learn from their mistakes, although it was not originally my mistakes, I learned from others' mistakes and got to know that gambling is not a way that you can make money from time to time, it is better to get a Job and use some part of your money to gamble.

The part that I most fear about gambling is addiction, I know people who are messed up because they get addicted to gambling, and today they are still yet to balance their lives, since put fear down my spine, I have always been careful in the ways that I gamble.
284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What you think about Casinos rewards? on: May 11, 2024, 10:45:18 AM
Hi everyone,

Casinos are known for having rewards, which are almost the same in all of them and do not differ much. For example, the welcome bonuses that players get after making deposits, free spins, bonuses, etc. Although there is some difference in small details from one casino to another, their goal remains to promote and attract more visitors, and players, and the positive thing here is that these rewards are motivating and give the player a distinctive gaming experience full of entertainment and fun.

Do you research the casino features before playing? Do you find these features useful for the casino and the player at the same time?

Promotion offers are why many people join some casinos, especially if they are new and there have been some good outcomes taking advantage of these rewards, nothing should come for free I believe, as some people still expect online casinos to give up free rewards without doing anything for tbr casinos, this is wrong, if any casino is doing this they are killing their business.

A smart casino will give up rewards and for gamblers to take advantage of the rewards they need to make deposits, only after they make a certain amount of deposits will they have access to the rewards, which sits well for me, unlike a friend of mine who I refer to an online casino, he seems to hate the casino because they asked him to make a first deposit first.

This is necessary for the casino to have traffic and also some exposure too, some people will end up liking the casino after they deposited with the old hope of taking advantage of the casino, but after using the casino they will be attracted to the fun they are getting, to me this is a win/win.
285  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the importance of this non_ custodial wallet? on: May 11, 2024, 08:15:29 AM
Non custodial crypto wallets gives true ownership, out of banks and centralized entities, you are the only one in control of your assets, although non-custodial have a bad apple side, and that is some closed source wallet that still gives users access to private keys and recovery seed, but been closed source is red flag so yph need to do your own research on each Bitcoin wallet before using them.

An open source wallet comes with full tramsaprency, even if you are not good with codes there are people who are, you can ask them to help you check the codes if they truly it is transparent and safe but they can't know if the wallet is a closed source crypto wallet.

Right now, I look for more than non-custodial in a crypto wallet, it has to be fully open source and for my own security sake I still prefer air gapped wallet, so it should be three in one.

Air gapped.
Open- Source.
Non- custodial.
286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: They put an end to online gambling: what do you think it's going to happen? on: May 11, 2024, 07:28:24 AM
I'm still confused what the OP is saying doesn't make sense where when a country bans gambling in its country it will make its people miserable? Such nonsense.

Online gambling is not limited you can access anywhere even if the online gambling has offices in other countries, as long as you have internet you can play online gambling even if your country prohibits it.
So what do you say $200 becomes $100,000? Is it so easy for you to play gambling that you even say this is not difficult? Hey gambling is based on luck not skill.

People will not starve because of gambling because there are still other jobs, but people will be poor if they continue to force gambling.

It is real, not nonsense.

Some countries lack almost everything in terms of economy and jobs, and peiople are forced to learn how to gamble, I do know people whwho always hated gambling and now they are into gambling, they claimed that they have no choice, their jobs aren't just paying so well for their bills so they have to try their lucks.

Some people are even making up these excuses of no jobs to hurt other people, the rate of kidnapping and fraud have increased even more, so I don't see what OP said as a bad thing, if gambling is no more many people will struggle to survive for real.

It takes a brave heart to learn something new online that can fetch them money, not all these humans are good with online jobs and some even believe that it is impossible to make money online.

There are still many people who don't give a damn about gambling even while the country is very bad, for example me, I still lead my business on, so of gambling is banned it won't affect me, but some people who rely on gambling will starve, they won't die though, they will get used to it and find other ways.
287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crackdown on mixers and privacy tools is ineffective: it may even help criminals on: May 10, 2024, 12:16:24 PM
The existence of Bitcoin have already kept you away from the Banks and centralized authorities, For many Bitcoin is their private bank, this is why I don't see the reason why people are using mixers.

You can say that privacy is important, but how can you be sure that all in the name of privacy some people aren't preparing to attack other innocent people? Privacy here and there was how some people are digging holes into the ground in a community to find precious stones and everyone kept minding their business until a bomb went off and many people paid for it with their lives.

I don't think for myself alone, I have also put myself in others shoes to understand even more, it is selfishness to say that you want privacy for yourself and not care about those who will use this as an excuse to run fundings for weapons of mass destruction.
288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Attempting to turn 0.05 BTC into 1.7 BTC on: May 10, 2024, 11:08:11 AM
Hi everyone, I am going to attempt to turn 0.05 BTC into 1.7 BTC with football/soccer betting. I will be using this post as a journal for my bets.

The goal is to be able to pay for medical school! Feel free to follow or fade my bets! Smiley But always bet responsibly.

Starting Balance: 0.05 BTC

Bet #1: Colombia: Envigado FC - Real Cartagena FC | Over 3 | 0.025 BTC returns 0.06625 BTC
Bet Screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/Xn3BvXw

Result: -0.025 BTC

New Balance: 0.025 BTC

tips: bc1qgll9gt4gmf8rddnyynrdrmzq9qzv336w7yezce

I can turn this 3k into 30k in few months investing in new start up projects, the last ones I invested gave me 10 to 30 times my money and I took many profits to buy back more Bitcoin, many people are scared of this strategy butbut it has never failed me.

It would have been different if gambling is your thing but with the way you ask this question it feels like you are just starting, and this amount isn't a good one to start with, even if you can afford to lose it I feel you need to feel how gambling really is, this is why I recommend using small amount first.

It is all about try and see, and also, Bitcoin is gold, this amount you have now is a lot in a few more months, you will see, why not keep your digital gold and use something else to gamble? I would rather keep my Bitcoin than use them to gamble.

I prefer using Dogecoin or Tron coin for gambling, Bitcoin satoshis are too rare this days to be wasting through gambling.
289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a core subject in our schools - Good or bad idea? on: May 10, 2024, 10:41:03 AM
Honestly, Bitcoin is great but schools are better off teaching basic finance in general, rather than skipping all that and jumping into Bitcoin/crypto. Most people don't even know how to actually save money in the first place, and we're immediately introducing Bitcoin to them? Teaching students finance is far more important.

I thought as much as you, but I still proceeded to see a school owner about teaching Bitcoin to their students, I don't think it is a bad idea because secondary school students are already into frauds and online scamming, some are just waiting to get school over with and fully embark on their scam journey.

I am going in to give them hope, that scamming isn't the only way, the country is in a mess, to be honest, fathers and mothers did all they could to send their children to school and they lost a leg doing so, but when the kids are through with school they can't even buy the parents a walking stick, it is ridiculous.

Still, I don't encourage hurting another human being for a living, it is wrong, so it is better to give them hope, crypto has changed the lives of many in my country, but some people still believe that there is nothing out there that can save them than to scam people.
290  Economy / Gambling / Re: More revelations on the challenges of physical casinos on: May 10, 2024, 08:52:28 AM

Agree with you mates the every casino matters on the behavior of the operator not the casino itself cause when the operator or the owner is not good then the casino will become not good.
the casino is representation of the owner so if the casino is bad meaning the owner is
bad you cannot differentiate them because they are one that's it.

Quote
But the operator/owner is good enough and have a good handling on business then the casino will run forever. But ok reality it will depends on us gamblers cause we have the decision if we gonna play on that casino or not so it's better to do our own research and use some of our time to discover the ability and all about the casino.
the casino will stay strong once the operator/owner knows how to value their players
and the players will pay them respect and praises but once they are BS casino then expect
the respond of the people towards them.

Is this for real? I don't believe your statement.

If you own a casino you need to hire people right? How will you know that they are into reaping people off? Not until you get some information I believe and that is if the information gets to you.

The last time I checked, casino owners don't come visit during the day when games are going on and people or customers are available, most of them even hire managers to look after the whole operation.

How will you know?

I am talking from experience, it is harder to know about the reputation of an offline casino, until they do something bad and you are lucky to get informed, maybe by your friends or neighbors, in my country people who are into gambling will prefer to go to the nearby betting station, that is it.
291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you successfully influenced someone to invest in bitcoin ? on: May 09, 2024, 12:22:43 PM
Have you successfully influenced someone to invest in bitcoin ?  What was the final result, did they thank you later for this ?

Influencing is better than forcing someone, and I believe that the latter is the dangerous one, you cab influence someone but it still depends on them to make a step which to me is still fair enough, but forcing someone to invest in Bitcoin will surely lead to many discomforting results.

I have influenced two beautiful souls in the past, they took no steps until they noticed that Bitcoin is changing my life every year for the better, they got jealous I believe and they came back asking for more information, today they are still investing in Bitcoin and it's been over five years already.

They are both out of the country now, they both reside in the UK and things are going fine for them, but I have had more bad results after these two, many never come back as they feel it is too risky to bet money on the success of Bitcoin, most of them still believe that Bitcoin is surviving on a borrowed time, that one day it will vanish.
292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will you do if you find yourself in a similar situation like this? on: May 09, 2024, 11:24:41 AM
The confidence that this guy has to use someone's money in gambling is evil, I called it evil because they are greedy and selfish, they dont care about what could happen to the money and also they felt nothing when the parent give him thr money to keep, I would have feel trust right away if my parent gave me money to keep, that shows they trust me, I wouldn't want to break that trust.

Now his parents will never trust him again, I have siblings that can't be trusted when it comes to money, in short we are not in good terms because of it, they take loan here and there and they most times get arrested by the people they are owing.

I hope he find a way to keep this trust in checked, and normally I won't trust a human like me when money is involved, even those who you respect so much are still lacking, even if they dont look like it, they will gladly use your money and may find it difficult to pay it back.
293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MemoryDealers aka Roger Ver Arrested! on: May 09, 2024, 10:17:44 AM
For all those saying that this is a war on cryptocurrencies, it is not, this war is on privacy that exists in the crypto space, to combat tax evaders and also criminals hiding under the innovation.

I am still so glad that Bitcoin has nothing to do with privacy, no one will be here today if it is, because this will rule Bitcoin off for good, it will be a good reason to believe that Bitcoin is the perfect evil currency for criminals and terrorists.

I can't say that the government should do their thing, they must hunt for criminals and the unclean in this space, this doesn't feel like a threat to me, and surely it should be for people who aren't clean enough.
294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Peoples expectations about casinos free spins on: May 09, 2024, 09:31:06 AM
What do you guys think that free spins are supposed to be like?

Have you ever used free spin to make money? At least a noticeable amount and withdraw it?

If you are running a new online casino will you feel good to give money away for free through free spins?

Here is my own believe, I hardly believe in free spins, because even if it turns out fine it's free money, and free money without breaking a sweat feels wrong with me, I believe this path is for the greedy people.

Free spins are not supposed to enrich you, take them as a demo to see how the online casino feels like.

What about you ? How do you feel about about free spins?
295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What I experienced since the past two days now on: May 09, 2024, 08:21:24 AM
To cut this story short, it turned out that my trusted neigboir whom I have few times vouched for to be a bitcoin investor is a online scammer who collect Bitcoin from his victims, until he was bursted 2 days ago, it was around 5am in the morning when the raid happened in our compound, I couldn't say anything about this since there is no concrete information about what he did yet until later.

I was so shocked because I don't look at him like this, I was still planning to go to a nearby secondary school with this neigbour of mine and teach students about bitcoin, I have already talked to their principal and he said he will give me a date when I can come.

My neighbour have been scamming some foreigners for the past years as per the information I got from one of the hunt squad and he is storing the Bitcoin in a hardware wallet, funny thing is I was the one that gave him the idea to store Bitcoin in hardware wallet so keep it safer.

Now I sat back and think about a few arguments we had in the past, remember when the forum stop supporting mixers? It was in that period, he was so supportive of mixers like it is a must but I kept saying that I have no reasons to use mixers, I could have been suspicious of him then but I trusted him.

Many people are going to hate me for this but I don't blame the law for going after mixers and privacy featured wallets in crypto space, if you believe that you are clean it is only to yourself, the other users might not, you really can't tell who to trust or not.

Many people are criminals in disguise and they are ruining bitcoin name by scamming people using Bitcoin as if it is a safe pass to scam people for free and get away with it, so no wonder that the government hates Mixers and privacy in this space, who is to be blame if not for our people who are criminals in disguise?

Not all Bitcoin investors are real investors, some are just hiding and pretending to be Bitcoin real investors, even if they are close to you, it doesn't mean they are clean, many good people want privacy and mixers to prevail but I wonder how when bad people are taking advantage of these features to steal from others.
296  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🐺Spinarium.com🐺 - iGaming casino with 400% welcome bonus + 200 free spins 🎮. on: May 09, 2024, 07:28:34 AM
I found a serious vulnerability in this casino! Can I receive a bounty for reporting? I wrote to the representative in private messages.

I made a full bug report to the casino support email. I will wait for an answer and a bug fix. After which I hope for a bounty.

Which is what needed to be proven once again! Technical support answered me and they said it was not a bug, but just a feature with bonuses. They gave me a bounty.
50 free spins with a wager x35 using the regular promo code! Here is another greedy casino that will look for a reason not to reward players for their efforts or cheap free spins!

I am not saying this is the case, but come on man, what do you expect? To use the free spins to make big money and withdraw it? Nothing is really really that free in this world.

297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it proper for younger ones to gamble? on: May 08, 2024, 10:10:52 AM
Because nowadays the younger ones take gambling more seriously then school. Yesterday i got back home early so I decided to step out and go to a betting shop to catch some fun while gambling, I saw two teenagers gambling with their school uniforms on them.

I asked someone besides me why did they allow this boy's to come in with their uniforms and gamble, he said did they put any restrictions that younger ones are not allowed to gamble. I said but it's not normal, I replied him what if this are your kids would you be happy seeing them gambling with their uniforms on them. So what do you guys think about this situation at hand now.

Nowadays things have changed a lot, youngsters take money making too seriously like their lives depend on it, most of them don't want to do this but their parents are the ones fueling this idea onto their kids, they aren't telling them to visits the casino directly though, but most parents today are simy raising kids to have a comfortable life soon, if the kids are boys they will start pulling them when they get to a certain age, like 14 or 15 years, I have seen this happened many times.

What do you expect someone at this age to have up in their skulls? This is a crucial age stage where you don't want your child to be addicted to anything, because it could be something they won't be able to get out from as they grow older.

Young people should not be thinking about money but trying to build their career or something, but since the parents are not the type to be having children they will lead the kids astray, forcing them to go out there and hunt for money as if that's the reason why they bring those kids into this world.

If parents can't guide their kids right what is the fault of the government who don't care about their supposed future leaders?
298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hard fork to disable inscription. on: May 08, 2024, 09:56:32 AM
Let's pretend that inscription doesn't exists right now.

It would have been a more painful experience for Bitcoin miners right now, the existence of runes and ordinals are benefiting the miners, more transactions equals more money for them.

But for random Bitcoin users out there, the existence of runes and ordinals are not looking too well, high transaction fee is showing up more times now compare to when these craps don't exist.

I don't believe that any hardfork will come that will erase off these inscriptions, mind you, there will come a time where Bitcoin miners will only make money from transactions only, the existence of these crap will make it fairly better, although I don't expect this to last very long, because inscription is giving me the meme coin vibes.
299  Economy / Gambling / Re: Can gambling sites provide proof of auditing that was done on their RTP? on: May 08, 2024, 08:46:39 AM
I won't worry much about third part games providers, since they do not even belong to the online casino that says a lot, either audited or not I don't care, but if the games belong to the casino that is where there will be some suspicions, casino in games can be tampered and fine tune to how they want it, with third party providers there shouldn't be a problem.

Find the one that works best for you, as for me, I will choose a big casino that already has some reputation to protect and I will use a small amount of money to keep trying my luck, you can't play for a very long time without winning at all, and you can easily change the casino or the third-party provider.

It makes no sense for any online casinos to show their customers any proof of audit, only the regulators or the authorities can ask for such information, as a gambler all you need to look out for is the reputation of the online casino you want to use for gambling.
300  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reason for acquiring bitcoins. on: May 08, 2024, 07:22:23 AM
What is the essence of buying and hodling Bitcoin like is it to accumulate it till it attains ATH then we sell it off and wait for a dip and start buying and holdling again or just accumulate it and start using it as a digital means of exchange or are we going to continue till the 21 million Bitcoins have be mined, already 19 millions have been mined remaining 2 million because overtime, i have come across several topics about buy and hodl bitcoin so i actually wish to know the sole objective of acquiring bitcoins.

We all have different reasons and mine isn't just about getting rich like most people, here is a good example of why I choose Bitcoin over everything else.

A million dollars today won't be worth the same in 10 years, $1Milion right now will be $1 Million in 10/years but not the same value, only the numbers won't change but the value will be way smaller, that is the curse of inflation on Fiat currencies.

With Bitcoin you and I can escape this, many people are getting into Bitcoin to get rich and buy all they desire but I choose to have Bitcoin till my last breath as my gateway to escaping true inflation in this world.

I will always have some Bitcoin, even after I retire.
