281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 24 eth instead of 24 usdt....What Will You Do If.......? on: October 23, 2020, 08:14:46 PM
After reading your initial post, the good samaritan side of me kicked in, I would had returned the money assuming I didn't see the other side of the story which comes as a surprise. Thought the exchange was decentralized, how then were they able to seize or empty the account of the user?. I'll be glad if more details are reviewed like the exchange name so we can stay away from patronizing them in the future. They made an honest mistake that they can take to social media and ask for their funds to be returned.
Through tinkering with some code in the smart contract or something like that?
This goes to show how so many of the so-called decentralized exchanges are not actually decentralized.

If the exchange was decentralized as they claim and is using a smart contract to execute trades, deposits and withdrawals, then there was probably a mistake or bug with their exchange and like I said, there is a likelihood the person who the lucky chap traded with got screwed up. They probably just helplessly saw the 24 ETH get drained from their account instead of 24 usdt, otherwise, where else would the 24 ETH come from if not from a fellow trader

OP, if you don't mind, could you please share the name of the exchange?

Hope he'll share the information. If giving away 24ETH just to be called DEX is thier idea, I'd be glad to trade there as well.

Decentralize excahnges are not completley decentralized some are decentralize in some degree like being a non custodial alone. But obviously there are admins in the exchange that will manage things and provide support. UNIswap I believe is more decentralized, its somewhat like the (INJ) Injective Protocol where users can even add a trading pair.

282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 24 eth instead of 24 usdt....What Will You Do If.......? on: October 22, 2020, 08:03:27 PM

Did your friend return the 24 ETH?  24ETH is huge, it could really help me in this crisis period.

I would really have to send chat to the support of the decentralize exchange to see if their system are working good. Because its a big loss for this DEX and I wouldn't want to contribute the downfall of this new project all because they mistakenly did something.

283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beware of fixed matches offer - member wbet7pending! on: October 22, 2020, 07:55:23 PM

If he is not asking for advance fee, you should have at least test whether his information is genuine or not but as what I see also there is a big possibility that he is scammer.

Enough evidence to prove that they are scammer is that they are spreading private messages to the forum members that they have guaranteed fixed matches but if you are going to think it carefully, most of the genuine fixed matches will not do this kind of thing and instead they will keep it secret as much as possible so they will be the one to benefit from it because fixed matches can really bring you a huge amount of money.
How about if the first try been a win, then what are your thoughts about it? Do you trust him directly proving out single bet won? I might rather believe if he do give out 5 tips on different events and consecutive win then that would really might changed up my mind to believe on what he's claiming.Few bets wont really be a solid thing to rely or to presume that he had really fixed matches information.Majority of these informations that lurking around are just for scammers who are trying to victimized people on the way they do believe that they can make easy money with fixed matches.

This is what I saw a screenshot from telegram user who posted what he got from his PM.

Quote
I'm ampletown from stake. platinum 2 member. Have to speak to you about sports betting
I have guaranteed fixed matches info available (Real rigged/fixed matches) that I'll share with you for commission after wins (No advance fee etc nothing required). Do let me know if interested
telegram : ampletown

He seem to have sent PMs to many users, not a single of them had a positive responce to the guy and I can understnad why. If he has the advance knowledge of who will win, why does he need to get a commission from you after the win?  He doesn't said 10% or 20% but it wouldn't be worth if he only gets 5%.

284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Decentralized Fund Management on: October 22, 2020, 07:31:02 PM
Seems like a good idea on the front but remember this that in 2017 all these portfolio and fund groups made money, and in the following year ALL of them made huge losses. Many even the famous ones like Galaxy Digital, one of the biggest and most legit if I recall even made more than 50% losses. What does this tell me? I might as well just hold my own Bitcoin/Ether:)
This, assuming that this is not a scam of some sort this seems like the perfect situation for those traders, if they happen to earn money while managing the capital of someone else then they can keep a significant amount of the money they won on the markets but if they happen to lose then they take no responsibility and it is the investor that needs to absorb the losses, so as long as they can keep getting clients then they can keep earning money at no risk for themselves, to me it seems it is a way better option to just learn how to trade by yourself, I know it is hard and it takes time but once you do this all your profits belong to you and you do not have to share them with anyone as it is the case here.

But isn't this like handing out your funds to the funds manager to trade it?

They may not have the coins on thier wallet because its all in the smart contract but its the same as they are the ones trading for you. I have not seen any accusations regarding them though. By the sound of it, Unifund.global doesn't hold their contributor from withdrawing thier funds.
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Better using DAI or USDT? on: October 21, 2020, 09:48:13 PM
They are stablecoins that is practically the same. I'm using USDT as i have been using for years so it helped me profit from the market just as anyone who trades. The threat I guess is them being centralized.

If thereis an option to hold a digital currency soon, some of us migfht just chose it than these stablecoins. I might just try it like digital dollar or yuan.

288  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your plans for the coming bull on: September 03, 2020, 07:02:57 PM

Same plan I guess back in 2017. Many already have the way to know whether its already the start of bear market so if the price htis tie new ATH, I guess trading my coins to USD is the best plan to have. Many would do this like they did in the past.

Its goingto be disappointing if the price continues to go up though. And its possible because the adoption today is different than it was back 2017.
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Tron (TRX) Ever Reach $5? on: September 03, 2020, 06:23:58 PM

After so much dapps created with TRON, it could go that high. That platform had been working since 2017, it should be a good time to step up after the anon feature of the TRON and they do have a new project like SUN and Justswap this time. Exciting days for TRON actually. Miners might just be trying to get into this SUN soon, still in Genesis.

The wife owns this thong and now the police got it?

There are lots of places to buy masks, he could have some of it in his bag but just wanted to attract attention. He thought authorities will take it as a joke, now he is detained lol. I never thought he is 74, I only knew because of this article. He sure doesn't act his age.
291  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Would you try to accumulate now that there is a token pump? on: August 30, 2020, 04:13:21 PM

It looks like the replies I got hasn't help me decide still. I'm curious if it helps you think of holding if you learn that the token is still on Binance with more than $1M volume a day and increasing.

The rest of the exchanges where it is like in Okex still considerable. Would you be able to think of dumping the token if its almost pumping gradually like the previous bullrun?
292  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid 19 shows how weak People are in the it mind on: August 28, 2020, 07:23:08 PM
I agree with this. Bitcoin as the new investment can work well for us besides of having gold in real life. Now, we have two types of investment that can give us a big profit, especially if bitcoin prices can increase.

The other opportunities will come from the internet because we will see many jobs available on the internet, and that can open people's eyes to search for an online job.
opportunities create competition and competition creates potential (new opportunities)..  Cryptocurrencies create enormous opportunities in the future.  in the future, we will see an increasingly intense level of competition in cryptocurrencies.  New crypto-coins will continue to emerge with a variety of the best concepts they present, Cryptocurrency and blockchain technology is the best solution for future world finance.  The rising price of Bitcoin in this "PANDEMIC" period has caused an uproar in the world.  in the future, online jobs will grow a lot and will help reduce the increasing unemployment rate caused by this "PANDEMIC"..

There are opportunities in crypto but the skills to learn will take months to years. Anyone with funds right now can gain knowledge in trading but the risk of losing more is also there and that this opportunity instead could turn to loss.

The competition today are getting harsh even in the offline world that you might have to line up to an interview for a dishwashing job.

Debt expires in 7-10 years and what does it mean, no need to pay for it?

I doubt banks will forget the debts we have. They're trying to making money from the loans and banks are trying to take this covid as opportunity as well. They provide loans with collateral of the farm lots.

I have a debt due to the cridet card which is up to $23K, I tried changing my numbers but they still find out my number lol. They are hiring 3rd party which will call to remind me every time.
294  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Would you try to accumulate now that there is a token pump? on: August 27, 2020, 06:30:00 PM
Let's say you have bought a token for about 1000 satoshis and weeks ago you found out the token is just about 100 satoshis. This means you already lost a lot since that time you hold it.

Now that it started to pump like from 100 sat to 150 sats, would you try to dump and wait again for its dump to at least 120 satoshis to buy back or just keep holding til you profit up to more than 1000 satoshis?
When I read examples like that the first thing that comes to my mind is what kind of strategy people are using when they are investing in those coins, what kind of trader or investor allows himself to lose 90% of his investment in one coin and it is still holding their coins? I could understand if a person did that while holding bitcoin or even ethereum but doing this for a coin which you you do not know if it is going to keep existing is a huge risk.

It is important for people to remember that one of the most important skills that you can have as a trader is to be able to manage your risk and to do so conservatively, many books about trading consider losing 2% of your capital in a single trade to be the most that you can endure in order to become successful long term in any market and losing 90% is simply unacceptable.

The token actaully hit the ATH last bullrun. All of us in crypto has tons of money which I bought more of these token amounting to $60K. I'm the kind of investor thats hopeful but forgets to check for updates. I tend to forget the tokens since we are ll busy on our jobs and trading for USDT is still the one that we normally do here even in the long bear market.

Now the delima is that whether the token will still hit its all time high after all the volume increased up to $6M still. At the same time I'm in the hurry to profit this time and would like to profit more by holding Aave. Whether to trade to accumulate, wait for the price to hit ATH or dump to buy Aave. These are the options I'm thinking.

296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CMC: Top DeFi Tokens by Market Capitalization on: August 26, 2020, 06:02:43 PM
Coinmarketcap now has a display for DeFi Tokens by Market Capitalization.
It's just how they define tokens to be DeFi though, And do you think it's a complete list or something is missing? I think this is great though, specially for those who are not familiar with this new hype is crypto market, so good job CZ (although sometimes I think he is becoming too powerful!).

Absolutely sir, it's a best decision by cmc to let people know about defi projects. Altcoins were about to dead but when defi project able to make good hyip. Now defi is become so reliable and demandful. Around most of defi projects have got successful with a large number of investors and traders. Hope defi keep continue this hyip and present us a new altcoins world like 2017

Sadly only defi projects that might just go up. I can see some other altcoins are left not growing which many of us have been holding since the last 2017. I have some that isn't actually moving up but go down instead. There are some projects that I never thought would really become legit but was pumped for now.

Aave have been very bullish today. I guess the rest of the holders of the old tokens are dumping for this project.
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto passive income - a bubble? on: August 26, 2020, 04:54:34 PM
In case of staking, you need to take the risk of believing that the product is not a scam, buying a handful of those tokens (upto 100K), invest into a cloud service to let that stake run on an instance of hardware which contributes to the network. You can also choose to run it on your own hardware with some investment.
Earning passive income from all of that effort is nowhere different than setting up a mining rig for bitcoin in terms of simply the effort. The only problem is your risk is higher as you have to choose from thousands of these options. If someone wants to do their own research and actually try and earn from these ventures then it is their own perogative. These things have been of a bubble nature since the beginning, that is why the pumps and dumps. Such is the nature of almost every speculative trading asset.

Almost all of the coins had been accused of scam. Even ETH during its early days was also being accused of scam like the rest of hte pump and dump coins but once they get to be there on top and getting traction, it tends to be a legit one like the DASH which was also being accused as scam from the begining.   There are still developers today that tries to copy what was done with Dash. Its a slow growth though and some end up truly a scam.
298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto passive income - a bubble? on: August 25, 2020, 08:13:59 PM
I don't think there is anything wrong with crypto passive income obtained from staking, yield farming, lending etc. Mining is cool but personally I prefer staking and masternode, since there is no need for energy. I'm not against POW algorithm, but I prefer POS. New advancements come with time, we should embrace them rather than entirely castigate. I do however like the solid points given by OP, it's very educative, thanks.

Many of us will also embrace the ETH POS once its finalized by the team.  Because ETH is a utility token and is very much needed for each transactions made I guess it will still be profitable to stake ETH.

Staking will only be good if the project will have a real usecase for the community and to its blockchain. If you planing to stake a coin, you better pick the right one or you'd just spend time staking without profit. Exchange tokens I think are worth.

299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TRON (TRX) Coin Future Price ? on: August 25, 2020, 07:14:43 PM

Token seems only for the long term holder and its not even sure if it really will grow big enough to compensate your wait. Throwing away like $1000 for it today might just make you money but it will be a wait despite the half a billion trading volume a day, its not enough to raise it up.  TRON CEO Justin has billions of TRX to dump for its traders, its not even just rumor because he actually admitted it since its been allocated to him from the beginning. Coin price in the future is hard to say but probebly after a year its still $0.02.
300  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will you do when Bitcoin reach$20k? on: August 25, 2020, 06:02:51 PM

you'd have to check the chart first before doing anything or else you will lose opportunity. reaching up to $20k doesn't mean its also the peak this time. The market has changed a lot and $20K is not like its the ATH still. Speculations tells us it could be $100K so you better not sell because if this is adoption in the process, it would be hard to tell which one is the overbought level.

I might just hold still just as I did since the past bullrun. If I experience the long bear marketcap again then so be it.
