United won the Manchester derby. It was really strange that City couldn't win this game despite having a full squad. Even though they focused on the game and had the ball throughout the match, they couldn't win. United managed to win the match with goals in the first half and won the cup.United performed poorly in the league but at least ended the season with a trophy
Big congratulations to Manchester United because nobody believed they could win this game not even their fans too. Everyone thought Manchester City will humiliate them once again and claim victory to become the FA cup champions but United pulled off a stunt and take Manchester City by surprise. Good work for being able to defend their goals.

Had it been Arsenal didn’t lose to Aston Villa and lose points that would’ve seen them go ahead of Manchester City they could’ve won the league and Manchester City could have ended the season without winning any trophy. Arsenal was the one that ended up without winning a trophy this season so does it mean that Manchester United had a better season than Arsenal? To me i think they do because Arsenal have nothing to show for it.
Congratulations to Manchester United for defying all odds to defeat their city rivals Manchester City and win the English FA Cup trophy. Before the game kicked off, many people had already written off Manchester United because of their poor form this season but that didn't stop Erik ten Hag's men from going beating the best English Premier League club at the moment.
The game was without doubt a defining moment for Manchester United's season who had initially failed qualify for any European competition next season after finishing in the season in the 8th position of the English Premier League table but needed to win the game to qualify for the UEFA Europa League competition. Manchester United proved beyond any reasonable doubt that they're equal to the task even when most people never believed in them and it's actually a good feeling to see the club fans have something to brag about again
With the victory gotten and a qualification to the European league competition next season today no one is pouring out criticisms on Erin Ten Hag dragging him for been a bad manager who lacks proficiency and winning mentality. it's all in praises to the team now. I have to say this, that a lot of football fans are so impatient and lack objectiveness with how they analyze outcomes of teams performance without caring to ponder from whence the error is actually coming from. I can say ten hag has been a good manager for United (although I used to stand him down in some cases) but he has been able to give the club two trophies in three seasons with the club. What Manchester united needs now is redundancy of a few players who ain't carrying the team on their shoulder anymore, that's just how they can survive when they get to the Europa league next season to avoid the embarrassment received in the champions league group stage.
Congratulations to ten hag for shutting the haters.
283  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and wealth is Energy know this first on: May 25, 2024, 10:13:56 PM
money comes when i focus on value knowledge and hard work.
So If you surrounding yourself with people who value their time and they seek for quality and value then you connect with same kind of people.
People tend to think that If they see ultra super wealthy person and see the numbers that there is main thing money but it's not there is high value high quality of everything you have wealth more how you value your life your time and who you associate.
Generating wealth doesn't dominantly come from much hardworking and with the way technology has developed making wealth isn't anymore much about working hard but working smart.

Another way to make wealth also has to do with the calibre of people you associate with as friends. People of lower cadre will always bring to the discussion matters of lower value while those of higher level will always bring in ideas, discussions and informations of transformable potential to one's status. There's a saying that the people you keep as company today will be the people your children looks up to as connection to acquiring certain competitive positions in the society.
284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are banks against cryptocurrency? on: May 25, 2024, 09:42:16 PM
I don’t think banks are the ones against Bitcoin. It should be the government that is against Bitcoin because they don’t have control over it. The banks actually report to the government and because Bitcoin isn’t doing the same, they don’t like it. Because starting from tax and other things they’d have implemented or rule they’d have set, they can’t. Bitcoin takes out the middle man and the government can’t do nothing about it, no matter much they dislike it.
The question is s, who's the bank and who's the government? They are same set of people under the financial system and their interest, policies and objective are twined. The banks are more like an agents of the government through which the government can use to bar and frustrate any other rising financial system that tend to be of a treat to their power of control and bitcoin is one of  such with it's decentralized protocol. Which makes puts me in the right by referring the bank as a middle too.
285  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The harsh policies facing bitcoiners in Nigeria. on: May 22, 2024, 11:28:18 PM
My guy I greet, for me Bitcoin no really hold naira down in any form. Naira will continue to be inferior or less valued until Nigerians make amendments to our factories and industries and to also stick with resources they have.
People still ravage and engage in dubious act through Bitcoin in this country cause that's actually is the safest and easier means of stealing funds without being caught.
I wonder how we expect a society wey one person for government go open eye thief billions of Naira and dollars for office, money way go fit emancipate and bring development to the community and nothing happened to am. He's walking as free as every other person. Money that could be used to develop our dieing industries  create employments. We get three refineries no one the work but everyday the government go the make promises of revamping till four years tenure go finish another government go come in with same promises. How the expect their economy to do fine and be competitive to bring value to the currency Naira. Imagine how many crypto exchange them don delist naira from their p2p still naira still the fall for value, only that no send them strong message say the problem na from within not outside.
286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase's latest video about Pizza Day on: May 22, 2024, 10:40:42 PM
I recently came across Coinbase's latest video, which provides an in-depth and comprehensive explanation of Bitcoin and its impact on the taxes we pay to banks and governments. The video also mentions Pizza Day. I'm genuinely interested in hearing your thoughts on this video and its storyline. Wink

https://youtu.be/NON0euNOj3k
The video is all about the middlemen and the need for their total elimination which is what bitcoin is largely in for. Middlemen in their pursuit for what they can get only makes us pay more for what we can pay less, creating extra procedures for what we can get directly in a seamless way.

The video message may not entirely be about pizza but the message is a conglomeration of pizza and bitcoin knowing fully the important place pizza holds in bitcoin history.

You could have confirmed his words by joining the group to experience things for yourself to be sure if these things are true as he speaks. What amuses me is that the administrator of the group has to give each group member the money to use for his bet to later get back a percentage after the bets are won. That admin must be a good businessman  Kiss

I am aware about  these unpopular leagues competitions getting regular fix matches but still they don't get that easy to find  and a lot of so-called scammers uses this medium to extort lazy gamblers that are after cheap means of getting sport bet wins. Getting the right source to info about fixed match is 1/10, because of the consequences that can follow with if discovered.
I'm in the process of trying to join; I just haven't had the time to meet up with my friend due to different work schedules. I'm also amused by that, and he even told me that there were a few rare instances where the users took the betting money and left the group. I still can't be 100% certain about all this if I don't see it with my own eyes. In terms of consequences now, I do have my doubts.
While you join you have to tread with caution don't rest on the words of your friend. It takes smart people to know how to deal with these platforms which is why some users that join do exit with the money after a one time trial that worked well for them, and they might be doing that out of a bad experience from other similar platforms.

I mean, in such countries, authorities are often non-existent. Who's going to bother with a few fixed matches? In the worst-case scenario, the casino starts banning users and potentially matches from such countries.
Weak systems create room for corrupt practices even under the nose of the said authorities because they do have a stake in those corrupt acts sonthey just sit back and do nothing. Any renowned casino that values their reputation and is submissive to fairness will never want to have anything to do with such matches in their platform, except for those that are
 dubious.

To be honest, I've heard of many signals or fixed matches, but nothing like this. Have you ever heard of such groups before, and have you ever tried joining one?

289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Os boxing the worst sport to get on? on: May 20, 2024, 10:37:51 PM
Recently I read that a year ago the Olympic committee cut its ties with the International boxing federation due to corruption and unfair referee placement. It has been a year since and the boxing federation has still to fix these issues. Now boxing is threatened to be completely left off schedule from the Olympics for the first time in the history of modern Olympics!

It really makes you think, if the international body of boxing is so corrupt, can you imagine the corruption that would be going on individually promoted events and closed leagues as the liked of UFC? Makes me think that fighting promotions and especially boxing should be avoided if you want to make bets.
Well, this i believe is nothing new, even though it's the first time I am reading about this on this forum.
Personally, I feel corruption have somehow eaten deep into almost everything in this world, that it's beginning to appear like a normal thing, talk about the government, the people, organizations, what about churches and even charity organizations? You did be surprised at the level of corruptions going on in this places.

So, if churches and charity organizations can be swimming in corruption, how much more sports organizing bodies like mentioned boxing federation, the UFC and so on, I can bet my balls the even FIFA, the premier league and so on all run on corruption, why? Because alot of people are corruption themselves, and as long as this set of people are the ones heading the affires of this organizations, rest assure the entire organization is corrupt, but they won't let it out to the public.
In today's modern societies whatever event that money or interest is involved be rest assured that corruption will be found in there and that's why it doesn't get me surprised when you made mentioned of those social and religious organizations as been corrupt because this corruption of a thing is interwoven. In the area of sports, that of boxing compared to other sports is so obvious in the manner at which results are influence by conveners.
290  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not forget your Bitcointalk account password!!! on: May 18, 2024, 11:02:02 PM
.
Another reason why some user will forget their account password is because they are always logged in and don't bother logging out sometimes. This way, when they are logged out from the forum, it becomes hard for them to remember which password they had used in creating their accounts. Once in a while, it would be better to log out and log in to you btt account so as to always remember what password you had used.
If you can't face the stress of always logging in and out of your account then you just don't have to, causing for sure it's really stressful. Instead going through all of the logging in and out due to precaution of not losing or forgetting your password I'll recommend that the user could just use his username with additional peculiar numbers together as the password, the numbers could be before or after the letters (I don't advise using your year of birth, can be easily predicted). Doing it this way you can't forget your password as long as you can remember your username.
291  Economy / Economics / Re: I need my lambo now and manson and yahct life too short lets do it on: May 18, 2024, 10:32:00 PM
Op how do you feel forcing people to use a coin they don't want to make use of on their own free will? Create a good project and it will sale itself.

What makes you think such a coin where people are being forced to use of will see the light of day when you can't force them anymore?

Or where you  or anyone here forced to use bitcoin? No!

By the way, the type of partnership you're proposing is what could be referred to as utopia. And finally, you mustn't have a yacht, mansions or lambo before you can be happier in life, there are people that have more than all of these and are not happy or feeling fulfilled. Don't pressure yourself about life being too short.

I could remember even some centralized exchanges like Binance  will claim to be decentralized, and some people who don't know will fall for them. This is how we have fallen for most of them with no KYC.
plenty exchanges platforms they notorious about this habit of deceiving their new intended users about their decentralized system but nah when you no run your research well you go fall in come later know say na lie them talk about their been decentralized. However, I never hear binance the claim say them dey decentralized ever since wey I dey use them , I never even hear person talk this tin sef shaa except say maybe na me no keep ear down well. You mind throw me detail info or link about that talk abeg.
293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does the world know about Bitcoin? on: May 16, 2024, 10:46:51 PM
To me i think there are some part of the world that still don't know anything about Bitcoin, because there are people in USA, UK, Australia, Canada, China, etc. even in Nigeria there are people that don't know anything about Bitcoin, they always think that Bitcoin is a scam, but people that know about it are making thousand of Dollars,($) I think they don't know that we are in a digital world now.
You should know that it's not all part of the world that have access to the internet or makes use of the internet and you and I does. How do those people now have to know about bitcoin when maybe their topography or traditional conditions makes them have no use or need for the internet. Do you think these types of people will give a fuck about how much you're making with bitcoin?

AFAIK, bitcoin wasn't designed for every human on planet earth, and if the population that have knowledge about it and are making a positive change in their life with the use of it then I should care much about the population using it than been worried about those that ain't even after hearing about it.
294  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: May 14, 2024, 08:49:13 PM
Imo if someone is experiencing any financial situation or problem, is better to reduce their amount for accumulating for a while than stopping totally.
Edited out
You are getting it all wrong because reducing your accumulation amounts if you are having some financial challenges can never lead you into giving up an investment because if the the source of income is low and the needs are a little bit high cutting down a bit of your accumulation will actually allow you to balance, however on the contrary your narrative on or rather your mindset could lead you into trouble on your investment if you are not able to Identify when the need to adjust your accumulation amounts arises, however if I may ask for instance your normal weekly accumulation is $20 while your monthly salary is $100 but on the process your salary drops to $60 on a monthly basis and your needs has increase would you reduce your accumulation amounts to either $5 or $10 weekly? Or would you continue with your normal $20 weekly?, because for me at this points $20 weekly is actually being aggressive and could get you into trouble.
This shouldn't  be very hard actually.... all you need is increasing the time interval still you find a way to get back to your $100 and if you actually read carefully I didn't totally go against the reduction  but I wasn't totally in support with it .
Let's break it down
I am a worker, I get a monthly  salary of 100 bucks.... my DCA $20 weekly  fir total $80 monthly taking the remaining 20 bucks for expenses
Now I got a slice on my monthly pay of 40 bucks  and  I now earn $60 monthly..
How can I do this by not reducing  my DCA value... I shifted my DCA to 2weeks interval $20  making $40  a month with same $20 left for my expenses.... instead of reducing and getting comfortable  with a new DCA  of $10/week

Although  at the end we should come to a total of $40 but  anything less won't give us a $40  however, when I'm finally back to $100 it might be a little bit hard to switch back to $20/week as I'm pretty much used to investing $10/week
Yeah it shouldn't be very hard but you kinda making it potentially go hard for you, by trying to be aggressive with your investment giving no room for flexibility in line with the adjustment in that have been made with your monthly salary. It may look simple for you to contain at the beginning if you go with $20 DCA even as your salary has been slashed but in the process when other emergency needs arises unplanned for it's gonna affect your investment. Adjusting to the current situation doesn't make you weak, it's also another model of contingent strategy in making for a successful investment.
295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 14, 2024, 07:58:41 PM
At the moment Man City are mounting much pressure which is expected considering they have everything to lose if the game end like this or they lose. Tottenham Hotspur can do better too if only they maintain their confidence and continue pressing Man City whenever they have the chance because you have to think like Man City to be able to beat them and I feel this first half will end in a draw.
Both teams are putting almost equal pressure on each other at the moment. And Tottenham actually played beyond expectations. but when Man City makes an attack we can see that Tottenham's back line easily panics. I think Tottenham must maintain composure and continue to put the same pressure on the Man City defense. The fast attack scheme that Tottenham sometimes shows looks good, but there are still many errors such as the accuracy of failed breakthrough passes. I suspect that in the first half there will be 1 goal.
It's been an intriguing game with Manchester City haven't been able to get a goal despite the pressure they're surmounting on Tottenham defense, and it's so beautiful to see that the whole of Tottenham players are putting themselves on the line in this game, particularly I admire the defending by Tottenham tonight, just imagine how Bernardo Silva's shot was blocked, that could have been a goal for City in the first half time. There's so much pressure on Son tonight just wishing he had a good pair like Kane that would have been troubling to City's defense line. Haven't seen Tottenham played this way they do tonight if they can keep the composure strong in second half the game can end in draw just as the first half.
296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 13, 2024, 09:24:33 PM
I'm not at all sure what happened to Liverpool, especially towards the end of the match. Liverpool conceded 2 goals in a short time between minutes 85 to 88, it was really surprising for me. Liverpool failed to maintain a 1-3 lead when I was sure to see them win, but everything turned around and Aston Villa forced them to end the match with a score of 3-3.

I think Klopp really regrets what happened in the last few minutes before injury time, it was a bad moment for Liverpool. But it's clear the results won't have a big impact now, whether it's losing a draw or winning.
Seem Klop made a wrong decision with that quadruple substitution at a go towards the last minutes because, Aston villa managed to revert the charge of the game from Liverpool's control  just after that substitution was made, to which they were able to get 2 goals just in no time. It's a bit of a delightful night for villa charging the game to a draw after two goals down, taking this one point has an important factor in their champions league bid. Manchester city may make their job easier  should they win Tottenham on Monday..
297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 13, 2024, 08:14:44 PM
The Aston Villa vs Liverpool match the first half has just ended with Liverpool taking the 1-2  lead. It was an earlier goal for Liverpool with that goalkeeping error from Martinez which puts Liverpool in the lead not quite long Aston villa responded with that beautiful distance shot from Tielemans  in the 12th mins  leveling the scores but Aaron Villa couldn't hold that goal as Gakpo gave Liverpool the 2nd goal from that cross pass from Salah making it 1-2 in favour of Liverpool.

Both teams are enduring a deficiency of strong defense in this game, both defenses are porous which gives me an optimism that Aston villa could  get a second goal going by how attacking and tenacious they played in the first should they continue playing that way in the second half, because Liverpool defense isn't anything strong in this game just as the Villa's.  Look forward to see more interesting performance as the second has kicks off.

Yeah truly we cannot compare Chelsea performance at the beginning of the season and now because they have truly improved a lot
To be honest, there has been great improvement in Chelsea's performance, if they had been performing like this since the beginning of the season, they would have been in a better position.
The coach demanded then that the supporters of the club exercise a little patience with this new young team that he was trying to put together after that their huge defeat to Arsenal, Chelsea started playing well almost like the defeat fostered more unity between the players.

Arsenal have to win all the matches they have left,
Against Manchester United, Arsenal has to win, but Arsenal this season has been very good against all the top teams, so winning against Manchester United should not be too difficult for them. The goal difference Arsenal had has been reduced by City, they are an incredible team.
Arsenal had a victory over Manchester United in their first leg this season which I think the result was 3-1 in Arsenal's favour. But I won't count on that and assume that arsenal could easily find victory over again against the Red Devils at old trafford on Sunday. I know by stats and form arsenal are a favoured side on winning this game and base on how important the points from this game mean to them in their race for the title. But Manchester united on the other hand wouldn't want to lose this game , they need to win to be at level with Newcastle and Chelsea in terms of points to avoid dropping lower. I just know this game isn't going to be an easy one for arsenal to win even though they look promising for the victory.
299  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy BTC sold for 16 BTC-1 mil USD on: May 11, 2024, 10:33:10 PM
people could actually buy collections for the sake of collecting, perhaps out of admiration, but there are those that buy for the sake of saving their money through collections, you see them buy many of these collections stack them for the future rather than having those money sitting in bank accounts where eyes could easily notice their networth. This is just how some of these wealthy people could choose to store their wealth against the future and  they can always sell any whenever they have a demand for bulksum of money and the chances are that the could sell at a price 2x of what they bought it.
There is no certainty that the price of this artwork will appreciate in the future. Sina Estavi bought Twitter Co-founder, Jack Dorsey's first tweet as an NFT at the price of $2.9 million because he thought the price would skyrocket in the future. When he wanted to sell it the highest bidder priced it for $277. This example doesn't dispute the fact that other NFTs' value have increased.
People don't buy these artwork because they are certain about the future value of the work skyrocketing profitably for them, anyone that has ever bought an NFT does it as with the ideology of every other investor going into the investment of any other common potential asset. For NFT just as it's been clearly narrated in the article you provided, I get it's value from the people, it's the people that gives it the value any NFT could possess, and just like the Bored Ape which was initially bought at the price of $200 but currently about a million $$ (don't you still it could depreciated below $300) now all still to the value from people such as the brand promotions it's getting with business products. It could still lose it's value in future if those promotions no more comes. What am I saying in essence? It's that whether be it the NFT that's making appreciation or others that aren't, they were all bought out of uncertainty about it's future value - investment risk

Quote
Some NFT analysts believe that people buy these NFTs artwork to build brands around them. They gave an
example of the Bored Ape. This NFT artwork has been used by many companies to brand products. Since this artwork is popular business products can be branded and promoted with these NTFs.

There's nothing as beautiful as a man having to be in charge of his own life, and having absolute control over what would happen to his future. Thais is just how it is with using non custodial wallet,  I see no much of a responsibility in using a non custodial wallet other than the safe keeping of ones secret key phrase.

We live in a world where people have become so lazy that they leave almost everything including their privacy and financial security in the hands of a third-party to to take charge for them therefore risking their power and right to make choices and determine how things should be for them.
