281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: April 17, 2024, 03:06:53 PM
Well i think we are gonna see PSG again in a Champions League final,it is what it is. Dortmund cant have any chances against PSG and the draw clearly helps PSG this season.

What a mess was the yesterday game between Atletico and Dortmund, both teams were horrible in defensives play, and also both teams miss a lot of opportunities.
Yep, this might be a chance for PSG to win Champions League because Dortmund isn't that strong. Even though able to beat Atletico Madrid, but Atletico Madrid is just a mediocre team in this season. Although the final match would be either Real Madrid or Manchester City i.e. toughest opponent, but any teams that can enter to final already have a mentality to win.

Both Atletico Madrid and Dortmund want to score as many as possible, that's why their take risk to sacrifice their defense lines.
Everyone is expecting PSG to seize this opportunity to taste the trophy this season. Their chances of getting it is very high because, just like you said, they can easily defeat Dortmund. Atletico Madrid would have been more difficult for them base on their experience and type of defensive football. But Dortmund will come out to score and that will be their greatest undoing.

As soon as PSG make it to the final, I'm sure they will have overwhelming support provided they are not playing against Arsenal who is also facing the same ordeal as them. If that be the case, let the best team win because it will be practically difficult choosing who to support.
282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: April 17, 2024, 02:56:08 PM
Who else is monitoring Girona? I don't like what I am seeing now and it is looking like the champions league next season will slip through them. I just notice that with 7 matches to go, Athletic Bilbao can displace them if they win all their matches. Even though Girona is third in the league now, it is certain that Athletico Madrid will overtake them, leaving them to battle with Bilbao for a position at the champions league. This is a bad one for Girona considering that there was a time they were fighting to lift the La Liga title this season.

Girona faces Cadiz, a team they ought to win and secure their 3 points but I'm seeing that they will not find it easy winning Cadiz because the later is fighting to escape relegation.
283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your biggest regret in cryptocurrency? on: April 17, 2024, 11:41:50 AM
I came across a tragic story. The protagonist of the story was looking for an alternative to PayPal in July 2010. He found BTC. At that time, the price of BTC was 10 cents, but no one bought it.Like many unfortunate stories, he put it aside, and then forgot about it until it appeared in the media in 2013.
A good number of the people that will comment on this thread will have almost the same regrets which include but not limited to:
  • Investing in shitcoins and thereby losing money
  • Not buying Bitcoin earlier when they first heard about it
  • Not holding Bitcoin from when they started buying till date.
Many people including myself have the regrets of not simply buying and holding Bitcoin instead of investing in some shitcoins that resulted in loss. Sometimes too I do check the wallets I used when I started and most times I end up not feeling good about it when I compare how much Bitcoin have passed through the wallet. I have also been scammed a couple of times as well due to greed and quest for quick profits. These are the regrets I have had so far.
284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Isn't Altcoin a distraction to Bitcoin adoption? on: April 17, 2024, 11:34:24 AM
The straight answer is a no. Altcoins does not stop Bitcoin adoption in anyway and I believe Bitcoin adoption is not matured yet as the process is ongoing and will eventually happen. We must appreciate the progress Bitcoin have made so far such as the ETF approval, Bitcoin being listed in NY Stock exchange and not forgetting the widespread acceptance that Bitcoin is enjoying now. It is a matter of time before Bitcoin is finally adopted in the mainstream meanwhile altcoins does not have a part to play in all these.
285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: April 16, 2024, 09:23:05 PM
Dortmund are a different Beast today...maybe their home fans have made the difference but so far they look like the team to progress tonight because they have more possession and just looked like the better team as Atletico have been wasteful in the chances they had and they will be punished for it...
Oh shot Atletico just equalized, let's go for the win boys..BvB must pack their bag's!!
It was an interesting match tonight and Dortmund showed a strength I have never seen in them before. How everything turned against the teams that won their first leg is what surprised me. But don't be too excited yet because Dortmund win tonight does not in any way mean they stand a chance at the trophy. Well, time shall tell.

Elsewhere, Barcelona game has taken a twist after Barca was leading the game but PSG turned game around and with the red cards on their book , I don't see them coming back and it's safe to say these boys are packing...comeon team Spain  Tongue
I'm totally overwhelmed with joy for a fantastic match tonight. What a come back! Barcelona did so well from the beginning but seems that their one man down weakened them so much. PSG truly fought like men and their effort was truly rewarded. Assuming Mbappe failed to score tonight, I would have been disappointed but his penalty kicked confirmed his input was visible in the win tonight. By this match, PSG are one step closer to making history this season.
286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: April 16, 2024, 07:09:13 PM
Atlético Madrid is well organized team, but their attack has never been ideal while they are now going for the away game which is also trouble for them because in recent matches they are having no idea performance so it's going to be well-balanced match for both sides to win and have their chance for the last four.
I don't know why the bookmakers give Atletico Madrid higher odds or 3.15 while Borussia Dortmund is given 2.4 odds, meaning that they are even suggesting that Dortmund will win the match. I don't know what they are using to make such decision but the last time I checked, Atletico Madrid have won Dortmund twice in their three meetings in the Champions League while Dortmund have only win once. Their last match also give Atletico Madrid advantage of which their major job tonight will just be what they do best which is defense. The best I expect from Dortmund tonight is a draw.
287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 16, 2024, 05:39:44 PM
Bayern Leverkusen fans are happy because they finally won the Bundesliga title after waiting for so many years. With what Xabi Alonso did at Bayer Leverkusen this season, I believe he will be honored with a statue at Bayern Leverkusen for helping Bayern Leverkusen lift their first Bundesliga title this season. Since Bayern Leverkusen has secured the Bundesliga title, their main focus will be on the Europa League.

Apart from UEL, they also have the opportunity to get the DFP Pokal, so it's still possible for Xabi Alonso to make another record at Bayer Leverkusen. In UEL they will face an English team (West Ham United), it seems difficult for them to go to the semi-finals, but before the results come out, we never know what will actually happen. In the DFB Pokal final they will face Kaiserlautern, it's a team from 2. Bundesliga and it will not be difficult for them to get an easy win with a large number of goals too. Do you think Xabi Alonso can make a treble this season?
Is it is highly possible for Xavi Alonso to make a treble this season. The Bundesliga is already in the bag, DFP Pokal is 80% guaranteed because Kaiserslautern, a club almost relegated to Bundesliga 3, is not a team to challenge Bayern Leverkusen. You already confirmed they will be humiliated with many goals and I stand with you on that. As for the EUL, Westham is already out of the picture because there is no way Bayern Leverkusen will allow them do any magic in the second leg as they are already 2-0 on aggregate. All the remaining teams in the competition are teams that Leverkusen can handle without much stress. So they can collect that trophy indeed.
288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: April 16, 2024, 05:25:22 PM
Chelsea trash Everton 6 zero yesterday, It was really a nice performance by Chelsea players yesterday dey really played well their attacking force against Everton was massive everywhere in the pitch was Chelsea players and dey didn't want to give Everton any breathing space to even score 1 goal, though even Everton goal keeper Pickford was not really good yesterday he didn't helped Everton he was in mixed form and the pressure was much and he couldn't withstand.
Chelsea's performance in the game against Everton is of course very extraordinary and honestly I did not expect if Chelsea could be so fierce to destroy Everton, indeed Everton is not in their best form this season but honestly it will still be very difficult for a team to beat Everton with a big enough score like yesterday, the victory over Everton actually does not change their position too much in the current Premier League standings,  I think Chelsea played well in that game but I think the Chelsea players looked very silly when they were fighting for penalties and I think Pochettino should manage and advise them to be more mature.
If the performance of Chelsea against Everton came to you as a surprise, it means you have not been watching or following Chelsea recently. Just when no one is looking, Chelsea have picked form probably not as much as the formidable Chelsea but a form that can withstand any team in the Premiership at present. They have managed to solve their problems and have finally discovered their winning strategy.

Currently Chelsea are ranked 9th and they need 4 more points to be able to reach the Conference League zone next season, but for sure it will not be easy because after all Chelsea will have to compete with Manchester United, Newcastle and Westham in reaching the last limit of the European competition zone next season, to be honest, seeing Chelsea's current performance that is up and down of course staying in the top 10 is better for them at the end of the season.
There is no way Chelsea will qualify for Conference League this season. The gap is too wide so they should just focus on finishing the season strong. They have successfully been able to build a strong team so they should look beyond this season as this season is done. I will keep playing Chelsea on goals as they have been scoring many goals in their matches. At least that will earn me some money and their next match against Arsenal is a sure bet for over 2.5 goals.
289  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: April 16, 2024, 02:16:11 PM
No matter how someone tries to sugar coat a talk about altcoins or trying to place them as a potential investable asset, it's bullshit cause they all fall under the same unpredictability and has a lot of risk associated with them and remains a shitcoins, everything that is not bitcoin should be kept off this thread cause we not into such discussions here and our main goal and focus in on how to better our bitcoin accumulation journey and hold bitcoin.

That's right! BUT SOMETIMES, especially if you've spend years watching/researching/learning about these different Ponzis and "narratives" in the cryptocurrency world, there will definitely be " opportunities" to make money in shitcoinery. Personally, during this cycle I would prefer to do my shitcoinery that's denominated in Bitcoin natively, and there's a new narrative being pushed after experiencing the potential of Ordinals. That narrative is Bitcoin Defi. It will potentially unlock more Bitcoin capital ithan what Ethereum currently has in its network right now.
This was the same analysis I did that landed me into Pumapay, the worst mistake made as an investor. Everything was perfect with that project and they even raised over $5 million in their ICO, but at the end the worthless garbage failed woefully. Many people have their terrible experienced from shitcoins, with many of them vowing over to invest in any digital currency ever again.

You might be right that some people might be lucky to quickly sell alongside the founders when they have the opportunity but this is purely gambling and can never be qualified as an investment. I still wonder what could be the essence of taking the risk of investing in shitcoins when there  is Bitcoin. Bitcoin is just fine as it has all it takes to generate profits and give the investor the calmness and peace needed to hold for a long time.
290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 14, 2024, 03:20:08 PM
We can now say with certainty that Liverpool is out of the title race, this loss to Crystal Palace seems to have confirmed that. When they lost 0:3 to Atalanta in the Europa League, I knew something was wrong with Liverpool even though I cannot figure out what it is. Today they have now confirmed that something is truly wrong somewhere; they played with very weak spirit unlike the motivated Liverpool we used to know.

The coast is now clear for Arsenal and Machester City to fight for the title with Arsenal at advantage at the moment. However the road to the trophy is rougher for Arsenal than Manchester City.  They still have Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea to play after playing Aston Villa tonight.  This should be the reason many people are having the opinion that Manchester City will win the trophy this season.
291  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: April 14, 2024, 03:09:41 PM
Obviously, Bitcoin is among cryptocurrencies but the reason why we make Bitcoin of more in this discussion is because it is our most priority and the asset we have in our individual portfolio and all other cryptos come under Bitcoin that is why Bitcoin is taken to be a volatile asset. Our main objective here is focused on buying and hodling no matter the price of Bitcoin that is why the DCA is advisable then if there comes a dip, an investor with high source of income or that have reserved funds can choose to lump sum and still continue the DCA
Bitcoin being a high volatile asset needs time before your investment can boom to a certain height that is why anyone venturing into bitcoin need endurance and patience because it is not just about buying and selling but buying and hodling for the future because a greater fruit awaits your investment there.

Shitcoins probably doesn't have any future that is why we don't include shitcoins in this thread, we are more concerned about a guaranteed asset like Bitcoin and if we look at the growth and adoption of Bitcoin since it was introduced, we can have that feeling of safety and security of our Bitcoins as proud hodlers.

I agree with you a lot Princess but I don’t agree with you about shitcoins not having a future, the way you sound right now makes me believe you think all other coins aside Bitcoin are shitcoins.
If you put trust in shitcoins, you will learn the hard way. I have invested in a coin I thought had everything it takes to vomit free money. The use case was superb, team were popular faces with track records ìn the industry, their marketing was perfect and they ended up collecting millions through their ICO. At the end, the project died and my coins became worthless... this is what shitcoins is all about, heartbreaks, anxiety, FOMO and every other thing you need to avoid as an investor.

Bitcoin is the father the originator the one among the rest but this doesn’t mean Bitcoin is the only one, with more incoming innovations in the crypto space we’ve witnessed the rise of other crypto currency’s some which have come to stay like Bitcoin and others which have fallen off,
These experiences only helped us learn how to identify substantial projects that’ll last the test of time line Bitcoin, I’ll say not all coins aside Bitcoin are shitcoins.
If you already know that Bitcoin is father and you have seen how well it has performed as an investment option, why not channel your energy, time and resources on how to buy as much Bitcoin as you can instead of allowing distractions from shitcoins? Bitcoin have all you need and they are safer because no founder will hand you over a bag of worthless coins, you are totally in control of your coins especially when you buy and store in a self custodian wallet and your only job will be to protect your coins and then watch it grow in value as time passes.

I will encourage you to avoid making the same mistake I made, focus on building a Bitcoin portfolio and see how happy you will be 5-10 years from today.
292  Other / Meta / Re: AI generated content by newbies on: April 14, 2024, 11:48:02 AM
In confirmation of my words above. Here are two examples. Two outrage threads would have appeared by already Smiley

Example 2

I have noticed an increased in the number of newbies using AI to make their posts, maybe they think that is the way to impress the older members of the forum. It is rather unfortunate that many of them are too lazy to at least read the forum rules that forbids such actions, hence the corresponding increase in newbie accounts being banned. I do not know what will be the solution but I think that any new member who cannot read the rules of the forum and who is not ready to learn and contribute to discussion base on his knowledge but resort to copying and pasting garbage from AI do not deserve to be here.

This is what I'm talking about.
I have never used AI before and I do not plan to do that soon even in my academic work (when I start my post graduate programs) as I find it a little lazy. With this result, I completely doubt the authenticity of those AI detectors and it simply means that anything written in fine and error-free English will be flagged as AI generated. I think we have to come to a consensus before a bad AI detecting tool causes chaos in the forum.

I tried checking how reliable the referenced AI detecting tool is with the following steps.
1. I posted my above comment in the took and got below results

https://sapling.ai/ai-content-detector/6fac85451e64588e260f1d647c36b87e

When I adjusted the statement by simply removing the word in the bracket  I got the result below:

https://sapling.ai/ai-content-detector/6fd3520673d3f484186519cf068065bb

I do not trust an AI detecting like this and it does not look good drawing conclusion from such a tool.

Below is the gptzero result of the same post flagged as AI- generated by sapling
293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It takes the balls... on: April 14, 2024, 10:05:32 AM
It seems that the Iran Israel conflict is affecting the price of Bitcoin but also do not forget that every bullrun has ever has a 30% plus drops on the way up, its obvious if you are good at reading charts.
I'm using the DCA method in collecting Bitcoin and I sincerely love the dip we are experience now prior to the halving because it will give me ample time to collect more Bitcoin at discounted prices. However, I don't thing we will see as much as 30% drop in price considering that halving is just days away.

The BUT here is how people get so weak after the dips finally happen and they do nothing, Wake the hell up, now it's happening right in front of your eye, do not sleep on it.

Instead of doing nothing, consider DCA.

Anyone who is doing nothing at this point is probably not interesting in buying Bitcoin. From January till now, Bitcoin have enjoy positive news following the ETF approval and many critics have even embraced reality. Consequently, there have been injection of fresh capital that have lead to the sustained growth we have experienced. Like I said before, those still sitting on the fence till this time are not ready to be invested in Bitcoin.
294  Economy / Speculation / Re: Iran strikes Israel. Crypto crashing heavily... on: April 14, 2024, 09:45:05 AM
Like @BitMaxz rightly posited, I wouldn't call this a crash but normal retracement. There is no way it is right to call about 9% drop in Bitcoin price a crash. Assuming it retraces up to one of the Fibonacci numbers like 50% or 61.8% and lower, then it would have been appropriate to use the term crash.

As for the cause of the major retracement, since we cannot place it on any major news that might have a such negative impact, I think it is logical to assume that Iran sending missiles to Isreal is what triggered it. This is because it does not just make so much sense that Bitcoin halving, an event that is expected to be a positive news, is around the corner yet price of Bitcoin is dropping. Well, we cannot rule out market manipulations.
295  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: April 13, 2024, 12:41:53 PM
Have you bought Bitcoin during the current correction? Or are you still waiting for an even lower price? If you haven't decided yet, don't forget to prepare your money to be able to buy Bitcoin again before the halving or after the halving.
Those of us using the DCA method are not disturbed about the correction, in fact, it is even to our advantage as we will now have to collect more Bitcoin for the same dollar value. I was somehow happy at the drop because it is like a final opportunity the market offer us before the halving which we don't know what will be the immediate effect on the market even though we know it will eventually lead to higher prices.

This would be another opportunity to buy Bitcoin at a low price of under $70k. We don't know whether the price will fall further. The important thing is to always be prepared and not forget to activate the alarm so we know when to buy it.
Yes the drop is also a good opportunity for those who employs buying the dip, their only challenge would be decided if a drop from $71k to $67k is something they might consider a dip to buy. This is where the advantage of the DCA method is evident, no stress about the dip, no worries about entry point and no single panic about volatility.
296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Double your money and quite on: April 13, 2024, 11:08:41 AM
Is this a joke or something? Gambling does not work this way and there is hardly anyone that will quit gambling if he is able to find a strategy that enable him double his money. Most gamblers are not in profit and anyone who manages to be in profit will not consider quiting rather will be busy perfecting the strategy that made it possible. If it is not easy to quit gambling even in loss, imagine how it will be for a gambler who just made additional $1,000 from his $1,000 deposit. The feasible thing he can do is to withdraw at least $1,800 and continue gambling with the balance for more profits.
297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 13, 2024, 11:02:42 AM
The fact that Bournemouth have a lower winning odds than Manchester United sums up the Red Devils this year. Bournemouth won 3-0 at Old Trafford in the first match of the league. It was a big shock for Manchester United. Now Manchester United, who have no other goal in the league but to maintain their 6th place, will see if they can get points away from home. Manchester United, who have not won in 3 matches in the league, may extend their winless streak to 4 matches. Honestly, they don't give me any confidence. Bournemouth's inability to play well at home against the top teams is the only advantage for United. We could see a game where both teams score goals.

Although Bournemouth is a formidable opponent on occasion, they are not nearly as good as Manchester United. The only issues I have with Manchester United are their coach and a few players. Nevertheless, I truly love the way Manchester has played in their last two games and it shows that they have players who can help the team improve. Some players, like Amrabat, Bruno, and Rashford, are not good enough to be on the Manchester United team. Although Amrabat is on loan and will soon leave, Bruno and Rashford are also issues for the team, and anyone who doesn't believe me should watch Manchester United play.
It is really surprising seeing that we have come to a point where we will have a second thought deciding who will win between Machester United and Bournemouth. It simply means that the former have done terribly bad this season and the fault is evenly shared between the coach and the players.
For the sake of my money I will simply consider both teams score that will give me a better odd than any double chance since straight win is a so risky base on the H2H record of both teams. Even if Bournemouth will win Manchester United,  they will have to conceded at least one goal. If they fail to get a goal today, the call for the sack of their coach Teng Haag will intensify and I doubt he will be able to survive it this time.
298  Economy / Speculation / Re: Satoshi forces the price of bitcoin to continue to rise over time on: April 12, 2024, 10:14:30 AM
Halving is a way for satoshis to force the price of bitcoin to continue to rise over time. The fewer rewards given to miners will make bitcoins harder to obtain and rarer as time goes by. This is a smart strategy that Satoshi had and I just realized it.

The weakness of this strategy is that when Bitcoin fails to reach a high price after the halving until the next halving occurs, this can damage public trust and also harm miners. However, this weakness no longer applies because Bitcoin always has a new ATH at every halving phase that occurs. So, I believe the price of bitcoin will continue to skyrocket in the future.

What do you think?
It is wrong to use the word force for it and I somehow disagree with you on this. The right way to put it is that Bitcoin was designed in a way that the supply will continue to decrease even in the face of increasing demand thereby creating a kind of imbalance that will spur an increase in price. This is not the same as forcing people to buy Bitcoin but a simple economics.
Furthermore, the price of Bitcoin have not continued to go up, we have experienced several bullish and bearish seasons just like we have in every other market. Bitcoin have enjoyed overall growth not because people were compelled to buy it but because of the values it has continued to provide and the potential people see in it, hence the reason they chose to hold it.
299  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: April 11, 2024, 02:51:54 PM
After losing to Barcelona, is it possible that PSG's chances are still quite open in the second leg? especially this time they have to visit Camp Nou where Barcelona is. I think the opportunity is still there, but not as big as we expected considering that Barcelona unexpectedly beat PSG in the first leg and that was a major blow for Luis Enrique's squad.
Many people expected PSG to win yesterday. They were the favourite and even had lower odds, since they were playing at home. They played well but their performance was not enough to give them the result. I don't know if they will be able to undo the loss when they visit Camp Nou. Well they have to give it their best because the worst that can happen is they failure to qualify for the semi final, although this will be a huge disappointment for the team and their key player Kylian Mbappe who might leave the club at the end of the season. He needed to leave a good legacy in the club besides the series of the French league titles.

300  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling games that gives you an exciting experience on: April 11, 2024, 02:21:19 PM
Personally, I am new to gambling and I do not know much about games, and I prefer gambling on football matches with small amounts of money.

What is your favorite gambling game and what are the reasons that made you prefer it over the rest?
I think sports betting should be the favorite for many people considering the popularity and wide engagement of football. But there are still many other interesting casinos that are popular with large participants. Gambles such as slots and poker have become so popular now and many people are going that direction because sports betting seems too difficult to make big wins.
I love sports betting with football and basketball as my favourite but gradually I'm drifting towards slots as well.
