Op you are welcome to the forum. It's obvious you have been supplied with materials/links, I recommend you read them all as they will help you understand first about the forum and then about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general. However as a newbie, I recommend that you do lots of reading rather than making posts until you are confident enough that you have acquired the basic knowledge of the whole system. But if you which to ask further questions from your learning, feel free to ask and we'll be here to help you out.
282  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do the needful this period and save yourself stress and heartbreak on: March 09, 2024, 06:53:25 PM
Op you have spoken well. The case of scammers and hackers trying to break through the process, is growing everyday, and they are trying as much as possible to learn and equip themselves with enough information for them to become successful with their hacks and scams. The only way we are keeping ourselves immune from this hackers is when we also study more and keep ourselves updated. learn to keep your coins in a non custodial wallet rather than using an exchange because exchanges are the primary targets of hackers.
283  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Hunger in the country on: March 09, 2024, 06:45:15 PM
Hunger is the major challenge Nigerian is facing now and this has affected both the rich and the poor as price of food is increasing on daily basis. Although the rich are a little bit leverage to this situation than the poor because irrespective of the metamorphism of the increment of the of price of food across the country they will still have some money to afford food stocks but the poor are left with no choice than the mercy of hunger and suffering. It's funny to see a country that is well known for agriculture as means of export going through this level of hardship and hunger.

Everybody for this local board know how e be for the country, all of us don hear this hungry matter tire, no be all of us dey live for the country? So why you come dey remind us say hungry dey, when na wattin we dey carry out eye dey see korokoro.

Newbies abeg if una no get better thing to talk make una try rest abeg. This matter of hungry for Nigeria don too much for this local board, if you want make the government hear you, try make you go sign up for opera news hub make you for start to dey write news, if you no sabi am I go teach you, make una free the board from shitpost. Nowadays even full member go up sef dey do the same thing, make una try help the board abeg. Because this na the reason why many of our Senior men no dey like wan near the local board again, because Dem don turn am to something else, people wey we suppose learn from now no dey come board again.

Whyyyyyy na?
284  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: When Self-investment beats every form of investment on: March 09, 2024, 06:37:04 PM
Baba you too much, e don Tay wey my eye see this kind of quality and informative post, even if say no be Bitcoin related topic, wey make am be off topic, yet this is one of the best the local board has had in a while, thumbs up bro, smerit no dey if not I for dash you. This topic na one vital part outside this forum wey we no suppose to play with, especially those wey get the dream to work for multinationals and to build their reputation and worth. Normally if you take some short courses add to your certificate, you dey get upper hand pass person wey just carry em certificate go apply for work, na this wisdom na some persons don learn wey make them dey take any possible related to their field, because when una present una CV e go dey very obvious say you use your time do better thing than to just carry on certificate go apply for work. So we must work on ourselves even if we no dey plan to use am find work, one dey opportunity fit come from somewhere.

Currently for my community, one company just Burt out say dem don discover, gas for our land. And as I talk you so, Dem don dey set up the place wey Dem go plant rig, and them come give community slots for people to work there, those wey dey certified, Dem go pay them as skilled workers while those without skill na non skilled worker. And skilled worker money come high pass non skilled worker so. Person wey study electrical engineering sef wey do extra safety course dey opportuned to work as safety  personnel sef.

286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Acquired knowledge from cryptocurrency indulgence on: March 09, 2024, 07:13:26 AM
Op what you have said is very correct. Many people came with empty knowledge but got the knowledge here for the time being they have stayed in the forum. The forum always have two golden statement that you are here to learn and when you have gotten the knowledge then you are to pass or impact it to others. And yes many have gotten the knowledge and they are doing well here. I have not invested any project that I have regret from it. Everyone here though not all but 99% have the experience and knowledge in bitcoin and they are happy to be an investors in the project. So appreciation is always going to bitcoin.

If you want to invest, invest in a project that has the knowledge of a community and has listed for some Decentralized Exchanges. Not all the projects that are listed in the centralized exchanges are genuine.

Absolutely correct sir. I am a beneficiary of this forum in the sense that my knowledge about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency was fully established here in this forum, and that was possible because of the help and mentorship I received from you guys, who have gained so much knowledge in advance. And I believe there are many who also have the same experience with me.

They say experience is the best teacher, but learning from other people experience is much better and less expensive. You must not wait for it to happen to you before you avoid it. With the experience other persons have, that made me to make a decision not to buy any altcoin but to hold Bitcoin only, so I haven't had any regret of Lossing my fund via shitcoin or scam projects.
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam called ''INACTIVITY FEES'' - HitBTC on: March 08, 2024, 10:07:46 PM
Thank you for your support.
Besides the fact that they charged me abusively, they don't even allow me to withdraw my coins.
I think that by publicly exposing and making the truth come out about their theft techniques, it is possible to achieve something. Together.

With all the fact given, it's obvious you are wrong about them stealing you money. At least you should have taken your time to read their terms of use and conditions, that would have saved you the stress of using such exchange. However next time I recommend you read carefully and understand their terms before agreeing to them. On the other hand, exchange are not good place for us to store our coins and this is enough reason to back my point. They are working on platform and paying their bills from the little commissions they get from things like this and others. So keeping your coins in a non custodial wallet is the best for long term holding.
288  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Be Creative And Not Formulative on: March 08, 2024, 09:43:04 PM
The lies wey dey go out from here e don dey too much and because of dat many of our brothers and sisters e don collect weti e no good like neutral tags. Nai make I say make I create dis thread to help those wey their own na to lie to hunt merit. Make tell una, if you go lie make you dey creative, make u no talk something wey big pass you. Wey ordinarily we all know say for we country dat kind thing e no go happen. And u come make am say e happened. And wen people see dem go attack you. See dis place na just creativity and not formulating lies. Read other people threads and know how dem take make to that level, and creatively, you do yours and become di man of the forum. Me I learn plenty things from our naija brothers dan di outsiders.

No lie and do am real. I dey like won guy here, oh Jesus Christ di guy w dey creative. And if you dey creative to rank up e no go hard you. Let me tell una threads wey full ground wey una never write as newbies or beginners. And if u really want to write, things wey e dey around you nai u go use am create thread and tell use weti happened concerning cryptocurrency related matter dem. No lie and just be creative den butter nd bread go full ur head. Read, learn and be creative. Nai be di konkon. Go do am den come back nd greet me. Read di successful hero and legendary Members here in di local board nd learn from dem.

You need to know say, there is different between lie and creative. So choose di creative and not di lie.

My brother no be small, I think say na only me this matter dey pain like this oo. Wattin dey give me joy na besay, as Dem lie, na so them go dey kack Dem tag, so that make them know say wattin Dem dey do dey bad. This forum no be for place for fake people, this na place wey men with wisdom dey make good post, and if you like be like Dem, the only way na to learn from them. Concerning those wey dey go outside dey go talk laolao about this country, eyes dey watch una, and the more lie and stupid post you make, the more your account dey chase merit away. It's as simple as that, I no see reason why you go cast your own, because of merit, and the worst thing na be say you no go even get merit from all those kind posts sef. This forum na for the smart and sound minds.
289  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Do Not Pressure Anyone Around You To Invest In Bitcoin. on: March 08, 2024, 09:12:37 PM
I decided to bring this information to our notice here because of a particular event that happened today that I was opportuned to witness. I understand that we all that have been around the forum where discussions and informations about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency are made have taken the opportunity to invest and some of us if not all have benefited from our investments and it has positively affected our thinking because we now see the investment as something we can not do without. Even as we encourage some of our brethren to invest, we shouldn't made it mandatory as if they will have no other opportunities in life to become rich if they do not invest in cryptocurrency. Back to what I witnessed today which led to this information, a guy was busy blasting his friend in public for not investing in Bitcoin when the price was below 40k on hearing them from afar, I came closer to really understand why he was so angry with his friend I overheard him saying that he can no longer be taking care of him because he refused to invest when he asked him to. There are some people who may never be interested in investing in Bitcoin even when they see the need to invest I think the best thing is to ignore them instead of putting so much pressure on them for them to invest. It is not every one that understands the meaning of investing for the future I think anyone who's interested in Bitcoin investments won't waste time to invest regardless of the current economic situation.

I fully understand what what the guy was passing through for him to have treated his friend in that manner. I know what it means to show someone an important information that should be taken serious and yet the person end up becoming unserious, it pains when you want the growth of other but yet, they become the ones holding themselves back for no reason. However just as you have said, the best option is to ignore them and keep doing what you know how to do best. After all the price of Bitcoin is not done yet, there is still hope for the price to rise above ATH so anyone can still invest now.

We can force the horse to the water side, but we cannot force it to drink water. The reason for the friend holding back might be that, he didn't get the right information or knowledge about Bitcoin in such that the factors behind the price movement is properly explained to him. And second the with the level of our economy, it would be difficult to convince someone to invest in Bitcoin when he has not eaten properly, if the other guy was wealthy enough his friend wouldn't have been angry at him, they would have just sort things out quietly.
290  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What if the Bitcoin was in note? on: March 08, 2024, 07:16:34 PM
What if the Bitcoin was in notes and with the same value as it has now, do you think anyone would misplace it or even walk with it on the street. Eventually you see a Bitcoin note will you return it to the owner. Let's be sincere and also see it as fun.
First off, Bitcoin can never be in notes, that's why it's called a digital currency not fiat. notes are called fiat and are controlled by the government and financial institutions can manipulate them. I see no reason to imagine Bitcoin being notes as if it were so, it would be used and owned by just one country and not used world wide. In Such situations, the country would never allow their money to leave their borders and if found outside there might be consequences. Just put this on your mind that Bitcoin can never be in Fiat form.

You answered the op as if you are in my mind. I was gonna say same thing, if Bitcoin existed as a fiat currency and not a digital currency then the main essence of Bitcoin to bridge the gap between p2p would not be achieved. Bitcoin was created so that we'll not have an intermediary when making p2p transactions, and the essence  was to provide a fast and realiable system where you will also have full control over your fund, than letting an intermediary hold your funds for you, and that Is why we are advised not to keep our fund in exchanges  except you are about to make exchange. Hence Bitcoin can't stand as a note even with imagination, you'll find out that it can't be possible because you'll completely destroy it's main purpose as a system for p2p transactions.

Op to answer your question, first we must not use bit as an example but let's take another thing that has a good monetary value. Let say for instance gold, you I saw gold on the floor outside, I'll definitely pick it up and use it. Because you cannot find the owner especially if there is no written text or any information that might lead you to the owner. So same for fiat, if you see 1000 naira on the floor, you cannot tell the owner of the money.
291  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Think security first, before you invest on: March 08, 2024, 06:34:03 PM
My country people good morning inside this morning, today I wan talk about security, I  know say most our elders here for this forum go know all this things, but due to the fact say newbies Dem dy sign up every day, I just say make I updated them, because for this crypto space, security matter na one of the basic things we sopos Sabi, if we want to survive or succeed.

It's very important as a new investor wey come into the system to think security first, because for this life wey we dy so, e dy very important say, as we dy try to make more money, make we no go lose the small one we try get, because of ignorance.

So before you invest in anything,  ask yourself, how secure is my money, if I put am here? Make we no go follow rewards enter tight Conner oo,  so as you dy try to make money, no forget to protect ur money also.
Bitcoin gives you that security wey alt and shit coin no go fit give you, and lastly make we try store am, in a very safe place like a self custodian wallet like electrum, because security na everything in this space.

Brotherly you don try, normally the topic of security na wattin supposed to they come up for the local board every now and then, as e be say new member dey enter the board almost everyday. I no go lie you, the first thing wey suppose enter anybody head wey serious for any kind of business na security. Cryptocurrency na one of the biggest target of scammers and hackers, so everyday people dey wey just dey find one loop hole wey Dem go use take enter inside the system take thief money, and their greatest targets naim be exchanges. No be today our seniors Dem draw our ear say make we avoid to dey keep funds for exchange because not your key not your coin. If no be you be the holding of the seed phrase then no be you get the coin, anything wey happen to the exchange, my brother your money don go be that.

Just as you talk so, na to use a non-custodial wallet take hold our money so that na we go get full control over our funds and everything. But e no just end there oo, if you l really want top security, you go pay the price of keeping your seed phrase secure and the further away you keep am from the internet the better for you. And that na why we need use paper or and airgapped Device with hardware wallet.
292  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Telegram wallet now has p2p on: March 08, 2024, 04:33:38 AM
You have to verify your account before you can make use of the P2P. You know how telegram may not care about your privacy, I will advice you to not use Telegram for currency exchanges. Also know that it is an online wallet and that is risky.

And this time around we Nigerians facing this common issue, of no longer be able to access binance p2p and all that , so this time around we have to find some good alternative that may also help in adjusting to such term, That why I just decided to drop this .
Binance is not the only centralized exchange that is having centralized P2P. Also you can make use of decentralized P2P.

If you insist and still want to use Binance: Another alternative

Definitely, I don't advise that anyone use the telegram Wallet p2p or even use telegram wallet. Just like when we received information that opera mini now has a wallet, I wouldn't even dare to try it out. It's better they keep doing what they know how to do best than to diversify their function. We all know how risk an exchange could be if it's not properly managed, assuming they start first as exchange and build quite a reputation then diversify to a social media, it would have been better rather they started as social media and now they're into wallet and exchange. I'm not saying they can't give an outstanding performance, but the trust we have in developments like that is minimal compared to those companies who are focus in achieving one goal.
293  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigerian lawmakers raise concern on crackdown on cryptocurrency platforms on: March 08, 2024, 04:18:14 AM
This na better update as e be say na now our lawmakers Dem dey wake up from their sleep. How them go sit down dey watch make all this kind of things they happen. As I see the news I belle just sweet me because na wattin Dem supposed to do since to let the illiterate know say no be crypto be the problem. As Dem ban binance afa the rate of dollar to naira? Shabi e don start to increase back, now na 1600 to a dollar, disturbing the crypto market na very bad thing wey Dem do, though the did has already been done, even those binance officials wey Dem arrest na very nonsense step wey Dem take. If to say dem go fit come back in agreement with binance come settle the matter, e for sweet me. Them just dey spoil our name publicly, if to say na the youth naim do this thing we for no hear word.
294  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is Investing into crypto really safe? on: March 08, 2024, 04:04:11 AM
Actually to me it's safe to some people, and not safe to some people because In this crypto space you only got what you deserve.

In the world of business, their is always a risk and the likelihood of you losing all your money, so that's why it's very much important you go for knowledge first, so as to know how to navigate your way in that particular line of business.

So if you are knowledgeable enough to know your way in the crypto space, you will definitely be profitable, but if you have no knowledge about it, their is a very high tendency of you losing your money, so that's what it is, so it's either you go for knowledge first, or your ignorance cost you dearly.

I can't say for sure that cryptocurrency is safe, let's call a spade a spade. Starting from wallets, we all know how dangerous it is to keep our seed phrase careless. Most times we even didn't plan for any disaster yet where we taught is safe for our seed phrase becomes unsafe. Let's just take for example, those leaving in areas where natural disasters do occur without their notice, like tornado, earthquake, rapid flood..... If paraventure they kept their seed phrase in a paper form and things like this happen, the probability they might loss their seed phrase and access to their wallet is very high, and we have been warned not to safe out seed phrase online.

Then when it comes to buying of crypto. The only factor that determines that we get profit from the coin is the volatility, at can also be a disadvantage to our holding. Currently there are many scam projects and after conducting your research and all of that, you can still end up buying a scam project, cause even those developers of scam projects try as much as possible to make sure the project looks legit and even pass through all the KYC and gets listed in exchanges.
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why not try out a less popular but promising token? on: March 08, 2024, 03:46:41 AM
Op if you're willing to hold a token, then you should be the one to make your choice of holding, don't let others list coins for you all in the name of a promising coin. Reason I said so, right here in this forum we have lots of developers here, so definitely a developers would want to advertise his coin by bringing it as a suggestion for you to buy, and they'll seem as though they have done research. So be careful with information you are being provided with. I recommend you do your own research to get the coin you which to invest in, so that you'll be responsible for the risk and outcome of the project. If the result from you holding turns out good, then you'll receive all the credits for making a good choice ball by yourself and that will give you insight on how to make the right choice continually.
296  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Make a Quality Posts in the Forum on: March 08, 2024, 03:31:46 AM
From my point of view, making a quality post is really easy.
If it is really easy, there will be no spam posts, right?
It is not so easy but everyone should have the ability to make quality posts if they want to make efforts.

Yeah, I believe making quality posts is easy when you learn the standard of post quality in this forum. Almost every quality poster we see today here in this forum started as low quality posters without too much information about  Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. But after they begin to learn and broaden their knowledge, they started making informative posts. Becoming a quality poster lies in the hand of the user, if you which to become a quality poster then you must avoid spamming, plagiarism or even using AI generated contents.as those will generally reduce your reputation as a good poster.

Any newbie who has ranked up to member(60 posts and 10 merit) should be able to make a good quality post, because with that amount of posts you should have been exposed to so many information from the forum, that is if you are willing to learn from others and in regard to forum standard.

You could follow up some know quality posters and learn their writing patterns, we have our telegram notifier which can also track some user's posts.
I think it is not a must to follow other's writing patterns, why?
It is important to have a genuine post style (own style). If we follow the writing pattern of other people, we are like copy-paste the writing style of other people in this forum. I don't think it is a good idea, we must have a unique writing style.
[/quote]

Definitely, we all have our own writing style, I used the telegram notifier to track some user's and learn from them, yet my writing style is different from theirs. Learning from them will give you insight on how to make quality post and how they react to questions, spam posts, advise etc. When you learn and try to follow the writing style of different quality posters, you'll end up creating your own style out of their inspiration.
297  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Make a Quality Posts in the Forum on: March 07, 2024, 06:32:24 PM
From my point of view, making a quality post is really easy. First you have to read and learn make sure you have clear understanding about Bitcoin, wallet and even cryptocurrency in general. You could even go deeper in terms of learning the technical aspects of Bitcoin to broaden you knowledge. Writing professional is a skill and not just a random work anyone can just wake up and start doing, and you cannot give what you don't have upstairs, so learning is the first stage of making a quality post. You could follow up some know quality posters and learn their writing patterns, we have our telegram notifier which can also track some user's posts. Quality post can come in the form of advise, opinion, correction, guide.... So you just need to position your words in such that the readers get clarity from you post and it's a helpful or informative content.
298  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am i bad to this friend if i refuse to loan him some money in bad economy on: March 07, 2024, 05:35:52 PM
Actually in terms of giving your friend money, it's up to you to decide, as you know better than us who your friend is. There are some person in our life that we can't resist helping them and include friends, but it depends on the way we see them live there life and how responsible the person may be. We are just ignorant on who your friend is, so the entire decision lies in your hands.

When it comes to holding of Bitcoin, the best strategy I suggest for anyone I'd the DCA and that is because you don't have to put in too much, but you little installment for a week, or a month will go a long way as long as your accumulation doesn't affect your other financial activities else you'll be tempted to go back to you holding. However we ought to accumulate at all kind of season be it bearish or bullish if we use the DCA method. It's possible today's price might be the dip in the next few months to come, so we must take every opportunity we have in accumulating Bitcoin seriously so that we'll not be missing out any dip.
299  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: No Invest in Bitcoin When U No Dey Do Anything. on: March 07, 2024, 01:35:30 PM
Normally before anybody invest e dey necessary make that person get something wey e dey do wey go fit provide money for am, to take feed and spare change to take invest for crypto. Bitcoin investment no be fo or die, if you no get source of income, no border to stress yourself because one day hunga go make you go withdraw that your investment wey e never reach time to withdraw. And one other thing na be say, make people no because of the current increase in the price of Bitcoin go tell person say na so e go be oo, because this same issues na wattin don misunderstanding for we country wey make some person wey enter for bearish movement conclude say Bitcoin  na scam. Abeg no use sweet mouth ginger person to invest without enlightening the person about the risk associated.
