285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Vanitygen: Generate an address with X characters on: August 29, 2013, 11:44:51 AM
You want to choose 32 characters?
No. I want any address that is 32 characters long. According to the Bitcoin wiki, Base58 can be as short as 27 characters.

Would the following work?

$ vanitygen -r "1[a-zA-Z0-9]{31}"

How about:

$ vanitygen -r "1TF[a-zA-Z0-9]{29}"

Vanitygen doesn't support this.

works well here:
$:~> vanitygen -r "1TF[a-zA-Z0-9]{29}"
Pattern: 1TF[a-zA-Z0-9]{29}
Address: 1TFruxZdjX6gGcnsi5RiJuSKEquFucFn9
Privkey: 5KffTVkH2wj3pHUi2LCQkFYSJiMPWMzCXYhFjvqXStxhU77CmAT

//EDIT

290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Vanitygen: Generate an address with X characters on: August 21, 2013, 11:07:40 AM
You want to choose 32 characters?
What he wants to say is: You need a next to infinite amount of time to get one.
291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Vanitygen: Generate an address with X characters on: August 21, 2013, 08:42:36 AM
use
$ vanitygen -r "1[A-Z]{8,10}"
to get 8 to 10 upper case letters A-Z

use
$ vanitygen -r "1[a-zA-Z]{8,10}"
to get 8 to 10 upper and lower case letters a-zA-Z

and so on

292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shorter BTC codes using more of unicode? on: August 15, 2013, 07:05:41 AM
one of the nice features of base58 is that whenever you doubleclick a base56 encoded addresse you select the whole address .. not just a subset ...
makes copy&paste much easier

298  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Deutsches Online-Wallet on: August 12, 2013, 11:45:22 AM
Warning -- Possibly SCAM -- READ ON, WATCH OUT!

Das Passwort wird als GET in der URL über eine unverschlüsselte Leitung übermittelt?!?!?

why not select one aribtray transaction from the blockchain .. maybe the first you have ever done using your first BTCs ... selected the last 60 letters of the transaction id .. run  sha256 and/or other hash over it an use the result as privkey .. .. that way you can always get you privkey aslong as the block chain exists. .. if it seases to exist, you coins are gone too :-)
