It seems that I have been screwed for development work I ordered for a poker service two months ago. In light of that I have some funds available I can invest into transferring ownership of a poker service. If this sounds like a fit for you, PM me.

Many internet users in the United States have watched with horror as countries like France and Britain have proposed or instituted so-called “three strikes” laws, which cut off internet access to those accused of repeated acts of copyright infringement. Now the U.S. has its own version of this kind of law, and it is arguably much worse: the Stop Online Piracy Act, introduced in the House this week, would give governments and private corporations unprecedented powers to remove websites from the internet on the flimsiest of grounds, and would force internet service providers to play the role of copyright police. http://gigaom.com/2011/10/27/looks-like-congress-has-declared-war-on-the-internet/

http://bitcoinreport.blogspot.com/Compared to previous months, the lowest address is now 700 coins less then in previous months which could indicate that bitcoin wealth is spreading to more people. In my opinion that is a good sign since one possible indication of the bitcoin economy shrinking would have the opposite effect concentrating the wealth into fewer hands. And indeed 3 addresses can be found with 100k+ coins whereas there was 1 in the previous month. Of course it can be misleading to read too much into this but it makes me hopeful for more good times to comes especially with the Prague conference in November.

I think I'm seeing a pattern here! The crypto-anarchist libertarians reached out to the Occupy Wall Street liberals in hopes of shoring up Bitcoin's cash flow problems.
Now the Liberals are directly invading this libertarian bastion! I guess all's fair in love, war, and silly politics!
Yeah. Protest that wall street with your iphone and starbucks and make sure everyone in the world how cool you were for you know-standing around, because nothing is going to change, but the brownie points for saying you were there equals to a lot of SWPL kudos in certain circles.

OP I hope you're kidding.

By law, as long as they don't do anything illegal, they can protest forever.
yankees only care about laws when it serves their interests.

The price crash and ExchB closing has gotten me thinking about this problem again.
Bitcoin (and crypto-currencies in general) need a p2p exchange mechanism to mitigate the risk of any centralized supernode (an exchange) gets taken down.
What I am picturing in my mind is a method built into the client software to buy or sell the coins for real dollars through 1) either some kind of real-time escrow service 2) a socketed API from an existing service (like paxum).
I am putting this idea out there because I have don't have the skills to make it happen but I hope someone out there that reads this does.
