281  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-09-17] Arubits Educates ATECH 2016 Attendees on Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency on: September 16, 2016, 11:56:15 PM
To put things into perspective, there are plenty of opportunities to educate people on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Most enthusiasts limit themselves to cryptocurrency and blockchain events, even though most of those attendees are all too familiar with these concepts already. Technology conferences present a perfect opportunity for educational purposes

Several community members have taken it upon themselves to attend ATECH 2016. This conference is held in Aruba this year, and it is a 100% technology event. That also makes it a perfect candidate for Bitcoin discussions even though they are not officially on the event agenda.

Among the exhibitions and topics discussed during this event are 3D Printing, various panels, and pitching startups. In a way, it is the perfect ecosystem to meet like-minded people, even though they may not have a direct link to cryptocurrency whatsoever. Technology events welcome people from all walks of life, and Bitcoin is a big part of [financial] technology available today.

With no Samsung-like news for bitcoin, prices are holding steady and are even a bit bullish. Pundits expect that trend to continue, unless the price goes below $600, when traders are advised to close long positions to prepare for an initial downside to $570. But let’s turn to the miners, who aren’t happy at all with a stable bitcoin price.

The bitcoin block reward was halved in July, which has changed the profitability of new miner entries and could impact the decentralization of bitcoin. According to a paper by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), reducing the block reward by half cuts total mining revenues if the bitcoin transaction fees and price remain unchanged. The IEEE suggests that disenfranchised miners who have had revenues cut might collude to sabotage the blockchain’s bitcoin transaction history.

284  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way for steady income on: September 16, 2016, 11:21:18 PM
It is not easy to earn steady  income from btcs, as price fluctuations will  never help you in reaching there. Steady  income is possible with only full time job from  where you can  expect a steady income.
I thought you did not need to think about bitcoin prices are always changing. because the price will always change and fluctuation will always exist. so you just need to focus on getting that fixed bitcoin
for sidejob you can earning without thinking how much the value of bitcoin.
but you need "real value" to pay each cost of life, and you need fixed fiat currency to pay it not fixed bitcoin.
285  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you actively spend your bitcoins? on: September 16, 2016, 11:19:38 PM
I don't spend it actively, tbh.  I believe that spending the coins now is  just not very smart , due to the fact that btc has a lot more  to offer in the near future..
Everybody hopes for that.
Spending Bitcoin can help to increase the value. If more people use it, it gets accepted in more places. That can give a higher value.
yeah i think spending will help the bitcoin indirectly. because if you do you will necessarily require spending more bitcoin and it will increase the demand for bitcoin ?

the spending of bitcoin also helping merchand to growing, if 1 merchand can get profit in accepting bitcoin , im sure new merchand will come to accepting bitcoin too.
286  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-09-16] How blockchain is transforming business models on: September 16, 2016, 02:09:00 PM
The traditional business model is under attack… as well it should be.

In this era of disruption, it’s absolutely necessary to redefine business models and archetypes as a whole. This post dives into the benefits of blockchain, its impact on the financial system, and how some companies are experimenting.

Traditional financial services companies, and banks in particular, are behind the curve in terms of technology. An accenture report claims that most big banks have systems as old as the 1970s or even 1960s, which mean that newer IT systems are just patched on top of the core to deliver online and mobile banking capabilities. This means that most of the budget is used for maintenance rather than for innovation as their aging systems are creaking.

Taking the adoption of mobile and online banking as an example, most companies wait until a technology reaches a certain level of maturity before investing into it. The fact that these incumbents use antiquated tech propels the rise of fintech companies who utilize technology to make financial services more efficient and could potentially disrupt the financial services industry.

The Water Project is a well known charitable organization in the Bitcoin community. Local teams build water wells, dams, and spring protections in Kenya, Uganda and Sierra Leone. The charity got significant attention when BitGive helped them raise funds to build a water well in Western Kenya.

The well gave clean water to the Shisango Girls’ Secondary School and a community of over 500 people. BitGive published a short 3-minute video of how the project made a difference with help from the Bitcoin community.

The group received its largest donation to date on September 13. An anonymous giver sent 38 bitcoins over two transactions during the night.

The Water Project organizers thanked the donor on Reddit, stating:

So we don’t know who you are, but we’re grateful. And so, just in case you hang out here, we want to say thanks! Today you gave enough BTC – totally anonymously – to provide clean, safe water and sanitation facilities to an entire school AND for the monitoring and repair funds to keep it working for years to come.

290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What wallets do you use and why? on: September 16, 2016, 10:40:50 AM
I only use blockchain for obvious reasons. It's the most secure one for me. You can easily sign a message in Blockchain, the design of the website is very user-friendly so there's no way that you can't figure out how to sign a message in that website. I don't trust the other wallet websites out there.

how about blockesplorer wallet ? coinbase wallet ? or android wallet like mycellium and jaxx ?
im use jaxx for trading with decentralization system, it's very usefull, very simple, ofcourse very safe than centralized exchange like poloniex,bittrex,c-cex,bitstamp etc.
291  Economy / Economics / Re: How to earn money with bitcoin ? on: September 16, 2016, 10:37:42 AM
Join a signature campaign, start trading, start lending BTC to people
You can also offer a service in the service section and get people pay you BTC for the exact service
Just try something,that's all
I think signature campaign is the most viable job here for individual who does not posses the skills which are in demand in the online world like programming. If you understand bitcoin it would be easy for you to join the campaign available here and it would help you to understand more on the necessary information you need to learn to start a most advance job like trading.
agree with you signature campaign is the most popular way to earning bitcoin at this momen, im sure more than 50% of bitcointalk user do signature campaign.

Yup and its popular only because there is no risk of loosing money and returns are guaranteed on regular basis, and it can even take best care of your basic expenses if you are residing in third world countries.

But the earning is still less than minimum wage in many countries. It is better to do proper work to earn bitcoin.
Many site are offering high amount of bitcoin work online.. if you can be article writer there is someone offering a good amount for every article you made in services section if you are good to make a article you can get earnings high..

let's compare it with blog adsens, youtube ads, steem it ?
i think bitcointalk signature campaign is still "reasonable reward" and for me it's more easy than other way to earning money "in online world"
292  Economy / Economics / Re: How too get rich on: September 16, 2016, 10:31:39 AM
I would like to do that, but certainly there is no method to easily become rich.
However, I think if you strive everyday, you'll find the way to the goals that you aim..

Yes there is no way to become rich easily what you need to do is going to be a hard working person and you must be wise on how you are going to spend your money. Because if you are just going spend your money with useless things then for sure you are not able to save a lot of money with. Make sure that you are a responsible saver and investor too.

the plan is the important to starting our way.
with great plan we can doing anything in smart work, not only hard work.
so the way to get rich is most easy to be reach it.
That is right, we need to have a concrete plan that we will be able to follow in order for us to achieve our goal to become rich, the journey to become rich is not that easy but if you have the will and dedication to use your skills and passion you will be able to achieve it.

after we have great plan, we must do it with hardworking.
each plan will have any problem , im sure no plan without problem, we must learning more and more to solve our next problem.
293  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you accept bitcoin as your salary? on: September 16, 2016, 10:15:23 AM
I could consider to accept part  of it in bitcoin. If more people start  doing this, the better for the  price and for the liquidity , and the lower  may be the volatility in the future..

let's see the fact, we join signature campaign and we get salary at bitcoin.
i think in future we will find more job avaible with bitcoin conected, of course the salary will be paid in bitcoin.
294  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: did you put all your money into bitcoin? on: September 16, 2016, 10:13:05 AM
Yes I put all my money into bitcoin cause in my opinion bitcoin is pretty safe always managing to retain value and go back up after a bad month.
I can't say I'm not worried though cause anything can happen but I just see it as a ballsy move that can payout alot in the future.

the decentralization system of bitcoin make no people can touch our money, that's very usefull for long term investment.
we can use paperwallet for more secure investment
295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What wallets do you use and why? on: September 16, 2016, 10:11:45 AM

BlockCypher, a firm that positions itself as a “blockchain web services” provider for the corporate realm has claimed that it can now facilitate near-instant cross-border payments.
