281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Digital Assets Management Platform on: April 02, 2017, 08:54:11 PM
Hello,

I hold some ICN, and I would like to purchase ICNX or ICN Funds.
How can I create an account on the platform? I see a "login" but nowhere is written how to sign up.
Thank you

Hey Crema. Unfortunately the platform is still being beta tested but it should be released fairly soon based on the rate new users are being added. My guess is 3-4 months tops.

Mendeleev or ShinyDiscoBalls are using a style of trolling known as Concern Trolling: a person who disingenuously expresses concern about an issue with the intention of undermining or derailing genuine discussion.
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Digital Assets Management Platform on: April 02, 2017, 04:06:43 PM
I think it is safe to assume that Mendeleev and ShinyDiscoBalls are the same user behind the WarrenBuffet and CryptoInsiders attacks. These are known troll accounts people, don't take them seriously, and don't respond to them.

Mendeleev, your posts have straddled the line between genuine concern and FUD, but you have finally crossed the line with this last post into dangerous misinformation. Daparski, kindly delete this little shit's posts.

Those are good numbers.

Iconomi owns a percentage of cofound.it so that is just one more revenue stream for ICN holders. Cofound is NOT a revenue stream for ICN holders, it is a revenue stream for ICN founders and perhaps Cofound ICO participants.

Fundamentals:
1. The platform is basically done.
2. Poloniex and other exchanges await.
3. Buybacks start TOMMOROW.
4. Digital Asset Management Platform launches later this year.

You would be an idiot to sell now. That is your opinion, though it's not an open call for dismissing other people's choices, everyone makes a choice and if you don't agree with it it's alright

Interesting, but consider this:

1. The platform is basically done. That has been said from quite some time now.
2. Poloniex and other exchanges await. Sources?
3. Buybacks start TOMMOROW. You don't know that, same thing happened with the anticipated launch then the price dipped.
4. Digital Asset Management Platform launches later this year. Speculation, especially with the change in team members

I know you can do better than that... don't insult me.

The first buyback is only around 85K ICN's...spread over 90 days.... so they go to buy back around 1000 ICN a day.... that's nothing...That will not effect the market price... For me the decision to go the buyback way is 100% against what I expected and what was promised with ICO. We are owner of the platform, and Iconomi decides to change the basics. That's not fair in my opinion.  I want ETH as Dividends... my % of Iconomi would be the same...but I would earn ETH, which in few years is 1000 times more worth than ICN.

I assume the first 1000 ETH is a 'test' amount. Buybacks in the future will be significantly larger.

at which price does the team buy and which exchange?
is it possible to set my sell price to higher than the market price and team can pick my sell order? :d

All we know about the details is what was published on Medium today:

The Q2 2017 repayment programme will be performed in a predetermined manner as follows:

1. 1,000 ETH will be used to purchase ICN in a 90 day period starting from 1st of April 2017.

2. Purchases will be made on a weekly basis.

3. All token repurchases will be performed on open markets.

4. ICN tokens will be repurchased at a price that does not exceed the highest independent bid or the last quoted transaction price. This should not inflate the market price and rather serves as a price support.

5. Purchase volume should never reach more than 20% of total ICN volume traded in the last 24 hours.

6. Every purchased token is burned — removed from the outstanding balance of ICN tokens.

7. ICONOMI will disclose its ICN purchases i.e. total number of tokens purchased and the average price paid per token in a quarterly report for Q2 2017.

ICONOMI introduces Repayment Programme

The first quarter of 2017 yielded positive results for the actively-managed ICONOMI.performance DAA. Since its introduction ICONOMI.performance has acquired Golem, Byteball and Santiment. First two have already yielded positive results, while Santiment is not yet publicly traded. Golem investment proceeds were already realised and measure 1,000 ETH, so we decided to distribute them back to ICN token holders. We are aiming to set new industry standards with the ICONOMI repayment programme, which will be used for the first time ever in the second quarter of 2017 and will serve as a proof of concept.

What are the options?

The distributed economy established new asset classes — ICN is one of them. New asset classes require new standards and features, as the concepts from the old economy are no longer viable. One of those is the distribution of created value.
Today’s’ companies are using three main mechanisms to return value to financiers: dividends, stock, interests and buybacks. The first one is practically impossible to realise in the distributed economy because it needs 100% collaboration with exchanges. Interests are also not relevant for our case. The third common form of value distribution to asset holders are buybacks.

Many companies in the traditional financial system frequently employ the buyback method. When assets are regularly purchased on the open market, the demand and purchase of the open sell position pushes prices up. The assets that are bought back can then either be held by the company (as a form of reserve) or taken out of circulation.

The Distributed Economy Way

Buybacks are pointing in the right direction but are still not completely aligned to the concept of the distributed economy. We understand ICO as a process where investors have contributed their assets to the ICONOMI project. ICONOMI is performing well, we have available assets and we want to return them to contributors.

Technically speaking, we will systematically buy ICN tokens on exchanges and “burn” them. That means that we will actually return their contribution at the current market value of the token. “Burning” means that purchased tokens will be taken off the market, with the consequence that the total supply of ICN tokens will decrease. This option represents a fair way for everyone, especially if conducted transparently.

The mechanics of the Repayment Programme

The ICONOMI repayment programme and transparency are key parts of our mission. Repayment programme ruleset is in accordance with market standards known in the old economy, and sets best practices for the new economy, and simultaneously serves in the best interest of ICN holders. We will report all its repayments in a quarterly report for the period ending on 30th June 2017, where all important milestones will be thoroughly described.

This is assuming the public still want to buy ICN correct? What If no one wants to buy. What incentive does someone have for buying

The same as before. To increase your money.

Starting April 1st Iconomi will be putting up buy walls at the current bid price. So Getty up.

Question for the **** people here:

What is the incentive for anyone to buy securities of public-traded companies if they're not expecting to ever receive any dividend or share of profits made by the companies?

This is a 5-grade question by the way.  Wink

I'll let Investopedia answer your question. Since you won't listen to us **** people...

http://www.investopedia.com/articles/02/041702.asp

There are a number of ways in which a company can return wealth to its shareholders. Although stock price appreciation and dividends are the two most common ways of doing this, there are other useful, and often overlooked, ways for companies to share their wealth with investors. In this article, we will look at one of those overlooked methods: share buybacks. We'll go through the mechanics of a share buyback and what it means for investors.

The Meaning of Buybacks
A stock buyback, also known as a "share repurchase", is a company's buying back its shares from the marketplace. You can think of a buyback as a company investing in itself, or using its cash to buy its own shares. The idea is simple: because a company can't act as its own shareholder, repurchased shares are absorbed by the company, and the number of outstanding shares on the market is reduced. When this happens, the relative ownership stake of each investor increases because there are fewer shares, or claims, on the earnings of the company.

My God, he doesn't understand supply and demand yet self identifies as a trader.

I understand very well the supply and demand. But do you understand that there is no reason for a demand ? Other that hoping to sell to a bigger looser ?
I can also come with a token and say 1k tokens in existence ... please buy in ... I promise I will burn half of coins each month ... where is the demand? Just because I promise to burn some of the coins people will jump in and buy ?

The demand comes from ICONOMI. The more fees generated by the platform, the more ICN will be bought by ICONOMI.
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Digital Assets Management Platform on: March 28, 2017, 10:30:08 PM

The reason to hold is because the more revenue that Iconomi funds generate, the more ICN will be bought. Does that clear it up princess?

No that does not clean anything. Why do I care how much Iconomi funds generate if I don't get anything from those profits except that they will burn some tokens and that in theory will increase the price of the remain tokens. It all resumes to trusting and hoping that some full will buy the tokens from you at a higher price ... which is something that you can hope at any shitcoin on polo ...

My God, he doesn't understand supply and demand yet self identifies as a trader.
298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Digital Assets Management Platform on: March 28, 2017, 10:16:31 PM
The iconomi platform is an investment platform where they use the money you invest to do whatever, and you receive returns. Since cryptos are so volatile this also means you can have big swings, but also super low dips.

I am talking about cashing out your ICN for ETH, then giving ETH to the iconomi platform under your account and receiving returns that way.

Cashing out ICN means selling your tokens ... why would I give my ETH to iconomi platform? Receive what returns? If I wanted to have profit from trading I would've just trade on my own.
Basically now there is no incentive to keep your ICN ... people will just sell and invest in the fund on the hypothetical platform / index. Again ... why would I buy this token even at 10k sats? Only for speculating on a price increase ?

The reason to hold is because the more revenue that Iconomi funds generate, the more ICN will be bought. Does that clear it up princess?

Oh come one if they really want they can TODAY put 8000BTC buy wall and eat all those 13m ICN and even with that it will left more money.

I thought those 8000 BTC were for investments in new ICO .. that's not the case anymore? Those money will be used for trading and manipulate the price ?

No, the only thing that changes is that the money that was going to be used for dividend distribution will now be used to buy back ICN and burn the supply.
