281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] 42-coin Development Discussion Thread on: November 21, 2018, 11:13:42 PM
I have been geeking with Shinohai for YEARS. He enjoys the trust and support of all the members of our aliance. I will follow his advice on this issue.

I do not mind checks!
Just install the Jesse operating system on your Rapsberry.
Install dependencies and run the wallet.

In there are no viruses, as I wrote above, the wallet is assembled from files downloaded from the GitHub coin developers.

It's mostly advice to make you appear a bit more professional. To wit:

1. Why Mega? This is the #1 haven for bad actors. This should be hosted on shithub or gitlab at very least.
2. Strip your executable of debug symbols before uploading. This has the benefit of reducing size, which is a big consideration for RasPi and SBC users.
3. This is crypto. Get a GPG key and sign your work if you are proud of it, so we know "Yes, this is really Andrey123's work and not someone else impersonating him". At the very least, sha512sum the resulting bin so one can verify it hasn't been tampered with.
4. Without a key, you really don't exist in crypto. (See #3)

It's admirable that you are producing things like this for those that are unable, and your binary did work for me in a sandbox with 0 problems. But in this day and age one simply cannot be too careful.

Some good tips here.

I must say, I read one of Andrey123 posts in the BlackCoin thread and for me I also started to doubt when I saw Cyrillic characters (sorry) and a file hosted on Mega.

Maybe you can reduce these feelings of doubt by following the above tips.

That's quite a cool update with the Callisto update to Switcheo offering trading of Ethereum too.

I hope that NEX will launch soon too though with their multi blockchain trading system. Switcheo seems to be getting quite the headstart.

Dear Waves Community and Waves Team;

As you know I am founder of digilira; Turkish Lira Gateway. We are operating Turkish Lira gateway on Waves Platform since December 2017. We have managed more than 8K deposits and withdraws which is more than 13 Million Turkish Liras.

We are proud of our fast service, easy integration and I am sure that Waves Team didn’t get any ticket about complaining our service so far.

Unfortunately, on 26.06.2018 and 27.06.2018 we have faced with fraud actions by using our gateway service. I will explain the details about Coinomat related part which was happened on 26.06.2018.

...............................

I am asking support from Waves Community and Waves Team to make pressure on Coinomat and let them give back our stolen WBTC.

To read more details and see proofs check reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Wavesplatform/comments/9yqxm9/coinomat_issue_they_are_still_keeping_our_wbtc/

I am asking support from Community and Waves Team.

Thanks..

This situation remained unclear for many users so we asked Coinomat to give some clarifications concerning it Here's their response regarding this:

Taking into account that ELITE WAY DEVELOPMENT LLP, referred to as Coinomat is a private company we still believe that some clarifications on Digilira fraud transactions matter are required.

........................

In view of the aforementioned, Coinomat cannot be held responsible for third party information security system malfunctions. As per our Terms of Service any questions or uncertainties, as well as claims or the provisions of the use the Services, the user may contact our support service by email support@coinomat.com.
For further discussion please use the provided mail.

That was a fast reply from Coinomat.

I wonder why they do not respond to the questions about the Coinomat assets? They have been going on for quite a while?

The coinomat investors deserve to get their funds back, it's been 2 years ... shameful

284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] LaLa World : An ecosystem for migrants and their families on: November 19, 2018, 11:36:07 AM
Proof of stake an alternative to proof of work is a faster, economic and energy-efficient mechanism to validate transactions on the Blockchain.

The huge electricity bills incurred due to mining of coins using Proof of Work consensus mechanism prompts the miners to sell off their cryptocurrency to pay for the bills. This causes a depreciation in the value of the currency which ultimately results in low profitability of mining. To counter this disadvantage, Proof of Stake consensus mechanism was introduced.

Not sure how this article relates to LALA since they don't run their own blockchain. Ethereum will become partly PoS but LALA can't influence this.

Also:

Quote
The miners earn money in the form of transaction fees in PoS consensus algorithm instead of freshly curated currency, like in the case of PoW consensus mechanism.

This is not completely correct, in PoS it is also possible to receive freshly curated currency, additional to transaction fees.
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: November 19, 2018, 11:29:26 AM
There will be announcement at AWS conf in some weeks.
https://sphereon.com/solutions-document-processing/solutions-for-alfresco/

Factom is not explicitly mentioned but it is the BC behind this integration.

Alfresco is a massive ECM company. Thanks to Sphereon, Factom solution will be integrated within Alfresco solution on top of AWS infrastructure.

This all sounds very interesting. But can you explain what BC and ECM stand for?

287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Viacoin (VIA) - Safe | Segwit | Lightning Network | Auxpow | Fast on: November 19, 2018, 10:37:29 AM
Hey guys,
I'm doing some basic research on VIA (took a brief look at the WP and some other resources).

I have a few questions:
A) It looks like there was an ICO in 2014, can someone give me details on how exactly this took place and how many investors got how many coins approx.
B) There has been a change of devs, what exactly happened and why?
c) I read most coins are already mined - any details on how the coin-distribution took place exactly and how VIA intends to icentivise miners to mine (fees only?)
- Any other interesting info much appreciated, thanks.

Feel free to direct me to any source that seems legit instead of explaining by yourself.

Thanks in advance!

A) My administration from this time was a bit shoddy, but as far as I can recall I got 5568 VIA for a 0.3 BTC investment, giving it a price of 5388 satoshi in the ICO. I found this overview page: https://questions.coincheckup.com/viacoin/all-available-information-on-the-viacoin-via-ico/
It says the initial price was $0.037, this sort of corresponds with the price of 5388 sat and a BTC price of around $600. Just not sure about the bonus structures anymore and the exact date of purchase. I think you could maybe find more information with some more in depth Googling

B) At the time BTC Drak became a BTC Core developer. I think the workload was too high to continue working on VIA so he handed over the reigns to the extremely competent prodigy Romano Wink

C) Distribution was partly done by the ICO and the remainder by PoW Scrypt mining. I'm not sure in what sense miners would need to be incentivized after all VIA have been mined, since it is merge mined with BTC, but maybe Romano could chime in here?
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] ShadowToken for the highly rated Shadow Era TCG on: November 18, 2018, 03:57:49 PM
It's been a year. I have invested in this project for a while. This was a very good project and had a clear development strategy, but it probably ended in this project. Anyway, I hope the development team of the project will come back soon because I expect the magic will happen with this project.

Not sure what you are saying regarding the development team of the project coming back. There is active development. There are (more than) weekly updates on their Twitter, continuously expanding the Shadow Era TCG.

Why you do allow the psychopath @TonyY_Sydney to be the admin in your telegram group? - this undermines the credibility of this project

Wow the admin is making death threats to people on Telegram - this is huge!

I always thought that QTUM is a serious project not like other shitcoins

I wonder how it's possible that project with a reputation and listed on Binance allow admins to insult people? and even to make vital threats, this is unacceptable

No surprise at all, coming from a project led by Patrick Dai, who previously scammed a BlackCoin developer of 200+ BTC.
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] Zeepin Chain | Changing the Creative Industry on: November 16, 2018, 08:20:11 PM
The end of 2018 is approaching fast, we are preparing gifts to our supporters and creators around the 🌎 🎁

Q4 plan ➡ https://bit.ly/2RZhhJd

Which gifts are these, I don't see a mention in the Medium article?

A switch from Unity to JavaScript now seems as if this has not been researched/thought through well enough before launching with Unity. Hopefully it has some positive effects to attract more developers.

And is Zeepin rebranding the name too, or just the way it communicates it's mission and culture to the outside world?
292  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where do you get latest crypto news? on: November 15, 2018, 05:01:47 PM
I really like Twitter for that. Follow the right people and you get everything fast!

I agree, I use Twitter a lot.

A list with quite some useful Altcoin Traders that you could follow, who post charts, but also news articles, discussions and more:

https://goo.gl/w6Z5Qt

Eventually articles on Coindesk/Cointelegraph etc also get linked, but I think Twitter is good for weeding out the crap from the actual useful stuff.

I also am subscribed to the daily Unbankd newsletter, they always have 3 in depth views on news events that have happened over the past 24hours, combined with a few URL's to some other less news worthy happenings of the day. I find this easy to get a quick overview of the most important events of the day.

You can subscribe here:

https://goo.gl/ZhQE5T

I also receive the daily www.cryptocompare.com newsletter, which gives a view on the BTC and ETH price action, combined with 3 news articles and other crypto price statistics over the last 24 hours. You can opt in to receive their newsletter after making an account on their site.

LaLa World Enters the UK to Enable Faster and Cheaper Remittance for its 9.5MM Migrant Workforce.

[/center]

LaLa World, an Asian Blockchain-based social business, announced the acquisition of UK based remittance company First Mobile Money Limited (FMML) today. This move is a part of its strategy to create a simplified financial services ecosystem that provides remittance services to the UK’s migrant workforce, refugees, and the unbanked, as well as, partner with other remittance companies in the UAE (United Arab Emirates) and the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States).

This seems like a fitting addition to LALA World, congratulations.

Are there any details about the amount that has been paid for this acquisition?

Also, are there any statistics available about the usage of the ICO funds? How is it budgetted and how much runway does the project have?

Edgeless bankroll staking has been the goal and aspiration from the very beginning of Edgeless' inception and all partners and token holders saw it.............

Great to see this finally is starting soon! I'm sure there will be a lot of interest as we wait for the markets to turn. Putting your tokens to work is always a nice bonus, like it would be with PoS tokens too, only now more interactive.

300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nexus - Pure SHA3 + CPU/GPU + nPoS + 15 Active Innovations + More to Come on: November 14, 2018, 10:26:13 PM
Tritium will be more than wallet, it is more than any project can release at the moment. Wow such amazing, but we all on Nexus knew that this is what we are going to get. Long live Nexus. Hold, stake, enjoy.

Well that's what I want to believe too but frankly the people that have been hodling are not exactly enjoying themselves... It's painful for anyone who (still) believe in NXS to see prices so low. And they keep on falling too.
Let's hope that changes soon.

The only way that changes is if you buy when the prices are "so low".

Exactly, it's only a matter of time until te markets will turn to the upside, meanwhile Nexus is continuously building. There is a lot in the pipeline, it's jus a matter of patience for now and cost-averaging in preparing for the next run.
