this has been like an end of an era ever since the 2018 began and the ICO tokens all and all that came with them started to die slowly and get out of this market.

in all the cases that i have heard so far, every single one of them was caused by the user running a customized script or wallet or something like that which wasn't tested well enough and it contained bugs.

haha, yeah but the difference is that if you buy $4000 worth of bitcoin today you can be sure that in 6 months you will have $4020 (of course it will be a lot higher than that, just using your own numbers). but at the same time you can also be absolutely sure that if you buy $4000 worth of some pump and dump altcoin in 6 months it will be worth $20

you are wrong. they created BTG to make a lot of money from the premine they also included in it and mainly because at that time there was a big hype going on about bitcoin fork coins literary anybody who know anything about programming was forking bitcoin and creating a new coin for themselves.

as for its price, i was actually thinking it would be a lot more successful that this, at least somewhere close to BCH since it was helping to make GPU mining a thing and specially since ETH was talking about killing the miners with its fork at the time so the ETH miners would have switched to BTG and pumped it up. but since ETH never forked and still hasn't that speculation never came true and BTG has also been struggling to keep alive.

i don't follow what Vitalik says, i find it a waste of time. but the thing about Bittorrent is that it has always been and still is a open source peer to peer protocol that millions of people around the world use. but the application and the company called bittorrent was sold to Tron and they abused the name to make millions from its brand alone when they ran a shitty ICO to raise a ton of money for no reason. and that is a scam in my books.

coins like ethereum operate and survive based on people's faith in them since they have nothing else going on to get people excited enough to make an investment in that coin.

so far people have lost their faith in ETH and its profitability since they lost nearly 90% of the money they wasted here. so in order for them to come back it first has to get pumped for at least a  month with a lot of users dumping and preventing the rise then it can hope for some of them coming back.

this fork is more like the first step in trying to fool them into coming back which is why it is being advertised this much while they try to hide the dangers of it in a very dishonest way.

be very careful about this because there has been a lot of cases where exchanges promised to not require KYC at all and because of that a lot of traders were attracted to their platform but then suddenly they changed this exact rule and broke their promise out of nowhere and forced the same people to submit their KYC documentation for verification of their accounts or they could not withdraw the amounts they had on exchanges.

as long as
- there is some token that can be transferred between two parties through some sort of channel
- the system is actually secure because we are talking about money and exchanges won't risk it with an unknown system that can lead to their losses
- and as long as there is a demand so that there would be some trading volume to make it worth their while
the exchanges will list such coins.

but if it is some new thing without any tests and lots of bugs and security holes then don't get your hopes up on getting it listed anywhere.

bounty hunters that start advertising a scam ICO to help them rip people off shouldn't really complain whenever the same scammers scam them! they should actually expect being scammed because they are not an exception just because they are advertising the token!

Trading is not such a special job to be created by the cryptocurrency market. trading markets already exist in all countries without an excpetion. there may not be all kinds of market or as popular but they do exist all around the world so if people were really interested in trading they would have done in those more established and less manipulated markets instead of doing it with cryptocurrencies.
not to mention that the pump and dump manipulation of altcoins makes it NEVER work as a "job".

i still say there is no reason for LTC to rise on its own and it won't happen anytime soon either. the only pump that you can hope for is the pump that is going to happen as soon as bitcoin rises as we all know litecoin has always been the only altcoin that follows bitcoin during rises while other altcoins get dumped.

JPMorgan came in a while ago, mainly in 2017 when they were spreading a lot of FUD about bitcoin whilst buying as much as cheap bitcoins as they could get their hands on. off the market and on the market.

then they didn't stop there either they created their own shitcoin to make even more profit. and this is exactly that.
don't get excited for it, this won't lead to anything specially things like ETF!

the ripple guys have always been trying to hide the fact that their coin is centralized and this is no exception either. that is exactly what he is trying to do in that article one more time but the world will not be fooled by their lies that is why the value of their useless token is this low despite all the money they spend on advertising it.

the "second" place has never belonged to one altcoin for long. a lot of different shitcoins in the past 10 years have come and gone whilst taking that rank for some time before they disappear. you can find snapshots of coinmarketcap showing you this throughout the years.

i am afraid it is time for a new coin to take that place now and with ETH hard fork which is going to split it into two different chains we may see that be hastened .

that has always been the biggest problem with the centralized altcoins in my opinion. for example a coin like ripple that is centralized is being controlled by an unknown company that nobody cares about so no matter how much they try they will not ever going to be able to compete with big guys like Jp morgan which is a gigantic bank!!! so they are bound to be replaced by that kind of centralized against centralized action.

the reason why ETH pump was huge back in 2017 was due to the surge of ICO scams. we were having at least one per day at some point and some days even a couple of them in one day. and to invest in them you had to buy ETH and that pumped the price more than normal.

now ICOs are nearly dead and nobody is buying ETH anymore so a 5x pump is going to be nearly impossible to happen specially now that there are a lot of competing smart contract platforms that are a lot better than ethereum.

this is the exact definition of being a hypocrite.

and in case you were wondering why J.D. was constantly talking about bitcoin in nearly all his interviews while saying i don't care about bitcoin, THIS coin was the reason why. they were building the groundwork for their shitcoin to be released.

actually i think both of them are dinosaurs right now if you consider that. but the fact that LTC is one of the oldest coins in the market will give it a big edge.

but if you are looking for big profit then you shouldn't be looking into these big old coins in firs place. you either go full bitcoin for low risk with high profit or you go with smaller altcoins for higher risk and since they get pumped a higher profit.

in one word the decentralization.

of course that has been true about bitcoin only and that is why i only hold and buy more bitcoin every day. the fact that it can not be controlled or censored is one of the greatest thing that i could have ever hoped for in a currency.
and on top of that i have enjoyed learning more about the technology itself too. specially with new things such as lightning network and atomic swaps that bitcoin introduced.

GRIN may be a competitor in sense of being a new anonymous coin but it has nothing to say in the market as an investment for traders because of its horrible supply and distribution design.
