Is there a problem with the BFL SC preorder process?

after submitting the orderform, there dont appear the BTC paymentprocessor site.

With IE it jumps to the October-Production-site.
With chrome a Array/ Json ( JSON createInvoice response url: )error appears,

any idea?
You might want to send this to BFL_Josh and let him know here on the forum.  Maybe toss in a screen shot.  Just an idea.

I agree that BFL could do more but one should consider that they are a SMALL business.  I have seen firms with 30+ people who are working like crazy do less then BFL.  At the end of the day here are the really important things we all need, do they have the product they advertised and can they deliver.  That's it and I am sure that in March when a large number of orders are long gone and a steady pace is set they will put more effort into their website and other matters.  From what I can see these guys have allot of ideas and not enough support to get it done as fast as we would like.  I know if I got a ton of orders like they did or as we as many as we tracking here on the forum I would not even have time to chat about how info is not flowing or the site is not updated.

The AK, for all the reasons stated, is what you carry when you are zombie hunting, or don't want to stand out from the oppos.

If cost was no object, and I could drive to pick it up at the dealer in one of those Lambo jeeps... I would go with an HK416, with an M203 under-mounted, that way I can reach out and touch someone, or clear a room as needed.

Oh ya if cost was no object I agree.  On a kind of side note has anyone seen that KRISS vector, I am sure that is is more fancy then function but I am going to try to find a store that has one to shoot in Las Vegas.

Dividends will be paid Tues or Wed for last week.  I am still in London for the Bitcoin Conference and will be back home tomorrow.  I should be able to get it paid out tomorrow evening.

I would say enjoy a pint that is what I would do, enjoy some bangers and mash?
285  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Bitcoin Conference 2012- London 15-16 Sept | ANNOUNCEMENT sponsorship available! on: September 17, 2012, 07:34:20 PM
Is anyone meeting up tonight?  I would like to meet a few people or whatever.  I've got a few things to take care of before the evening, but I'd definitely like to meet and greet anyone who's come early.

I've just arrived back home but could head out again for a little bit, if you want to meet up for a while thats cool.
Give a small public speaking & presentation about BitForce SC Jalapeno,BitForce SC Single,BitForce SC Mini Rig  Cheesy

286  Bitcoin / Project Development / This pre-order stuff is crazy....... on: September 17, 2012, 07:30:48 PM
I really can't believe this and how a company can advertise a product then request full payment before you get the product.  Then they advertise a delivery date but because more people want the product then what the markets dictates should be normal they advertise that they many not get their products out as listed.  Getting hold of their folks is tricky unless you go to their location and talk to them face to face and then you might not get the answer you really want but their nice.  Then what to do with your old equipment I mean it works but do you really want to take a chance with it being old and not able to do what you need it to do.  It really feels like a scam except I do have their last equipment offering and it works and I can use it but I am taking a risk that the new equipment will perform as listed and better then what I have.  The last offering works but it does not perform as well as I would expect and the units before that well they had all kinds of issues that had buyers up in arms.

So I bet you think I am writing about BFL right?

TRY APPLE, news today that with 2million orders they won't be able to fill all the preorders by the date advertised.

Either BFL runs Apple or Apple runs BFL, with a business model like that where can it take them...........(to the top?)

I open the floor to talk among yourselves and those who are developing projects it feels good to see the big boys make the same.... statements.
287  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which is the BEST military rifle? on: September 17, 2012, 03:55:41 PM
Ok, so here is my thoughts:

AK-47 is considered the best but keep in mind that is because it has been made for so long and sure it does not jam but its effective range is limited due to its relaxed design.  It is a stamped metal product that is cheap to make and easy to maintain because the engineering focused on reliability and easy of production.  This is the weapon to have if your in Europe, Asia, or Africa.

AR-4/15 is probably the next best choice because it is growing in use around the world and is very accurate.  Now as for jamming I will put it to you this way, if you are lazy and in a mud puddle waiting to shoot then yes you will have problems.  But if you maintain the weapon and try to avoid tossing it in the mud your weapon should work.  I have had both the standard issue and the custom solutions and yes the custom solution is better but both works when it counted.  Now people who don't monitor their weapon while in use tend to have issues and I just put that in the natural selection category of life.  The AR models are more popular in the US, Mexico and other South American countries.

So I would have both, I like my AR because I know it and I also like to reach out and touch someone but if I am in a mud puddle waiting on the enemy so I can see the whites of their eyes then AK all the way with a bayonet just to be safe.  Also since I am in the US I feel like finding parts and other things will be easier but AK are selling well here too so its a toss up in my mind which takes me back to distance.  Now if I was in Europe then AK just be safe I mean what didn't Russia make two for each person on the planet at this point or don't you get one with a bottle of vodka?  (By the way never understood why you would want the bayonet on the AR due to the weight but also if you need it you must be a bad shot or the s*#t really hit the fan.)

288  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Date for 25 BTC per Block on: September 17, 2012, 03:37:22 PM
I am not interesting in betting on this (Bitcoin is a big enough gamble for me right now) but I would like to continue exploring this discussion more.

Let’s assume that BFL does begin shipments by the week of November 12 or sooner.  I toss this date out as a reasonable guess because of allot of real world factors that will force them to do something on or before this date.  Now they plan to offer a systematic approach to delivery that will take them out to the end of December to get all pre-orders out.  That is significant amount of equipment hitting the street in a short amount of time.  This act alone will cause difficulty to go up one would think.  Also keep in mind that many BFL equipment users now will need to ship their equipment back so we could see all kinds of volume changes for about a month or so.

Now this post has listed December 2nd as the proposed day we go from 50 to 25 so that should or could cause difficulty to go down due to smaller operations dropping off.

These two acts alone should not cancel each other out because the proposed BFL ASIC product is so significant that difficulty will jump even as large numbers of folks go to other currencies to use their equipment.

Other ASIC solutions will come online cause the difficulty to rise but not too much since the masses have purchased BFL and will not be cash positive to explore investing in other equipment.   Late comers will consider the alternatives for many reasons so their products will come online after the New Year starts.

Now the real odd question to all of this is the price per BTC.  If this jumps up higher who knows but if it drops due to fewer folks mining/using the coins this could cause a whole host of additional outcomes.

All I can say is that starting in October to February it is going to be some wild times in this Bitcoin world.
I would love more input to this because this is my opinion and I am trying to get as many factors ironed out as possible but one man’s point of view is what it is.

This is very interesting read and I like where your head is at.  I will look this over more and really dig in.  If you do more work or find out more about this please share.  I was thinking about something like this too but you have some steps I did not consider.

291  Economy / Economics / Re: Doubt about Bitcoin's growth potential on: September 14, 2012, 10:55:25 PM
My only concern so far with bitcoin is the lack of, or inability to, prosecute fraud and uphold contracts. That's what makes lending difficult in my opinion. Also, we could have institutions that practice fractional reserve banking, but it is not backed or guaranteed (FDIC). This means that customers (lenders) of the bank are at much more risk because of the high percentage of the reserves (customers money) being lent out. This makes their savings illiquid and risky. So in order to do this, the institutions would have to offer high interest rates and not be able to guarantee instant liquidation at moment's notice.

This is a good point but I would not be worried because there are ways to fix this, my concern is wider growth or diversity usage of the currency.  The value of the currency is great but if the use could be diversified then I think stability would grow allowing for greater growth.  Guarantees will follow and there are ways to develop them but that will probably not happen until greater utility.

Just my thoughts on the subject but I would like to see more guarantees offered too.
292  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: President of BFL is a photographer by trade ? on: September 14, 2012, 10:47:56 PM
Hey just figured I would toss this out but I always thought the present of BFL had the first name of Sonny.  Also in other postings it is mentioned that BFL is a WY company so that is the the right one.  Pretty sure the present is an engineer but who knows in this crazy bitcoin world.
293  Other / Off-topic / Re: BFL SC / Jally first picture? on: September 14, 2012, 05:08:46 PM
1) If you go to http://www.butterflylabs.com/ there is no official link to the page being discussed here, so it could be experimental, in which case it's non-existant as far as customer is concerned.

2) How do you know the ASIC PCB is not the same as the FPGA PCB ? you don't so you have no grounds to call it deceptive.

I agree, this looks to me like a marketing idea page and the photo is just an idea or place holder.  I think it was just put out on here to show that BFL is thinking of stuff while they get things going and not something to be deceptive.  I thought it was a nice idea to show us something and who knows maybe the ASIC platform will pull allot from the FPGA.  Again happy to see that BFL is still moving forward and that something (even a marketing page) has come out.

Wow sensitive group,

Let me add that it is or would be great to see any changes to the site even if it is an current single model shown.  Not having any new news, pictures or anything on the site is just really sad and I know they have other things to worry about but for those of us waiting in line outside the store it would be nice to see something going on inside the store.  So happy to see this pic.

New landing page: http://www.butterflylabs.com/landing/

alt="Butterflylabs Great Shot" hah.

Not sure if supposed to be public? :>

Looks like a single?

Sad I am 100% sure that is the rev 3 single, would have liked to see an SC pic or drawing.  Nice page.
296  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Automated Trading Platform - Any Interest? on: September 14, 2012, 02:34:01 PM
my local currency is euro but i can still use gox usd. so how do i get started? Smiley

There are two ways.
You can wait a day or so and I'll have it localized, which honestly is the best option.

The second option is to open a USD wallet.  To do that, log into mtgox.  Go to settings.  Change the default currency to USD and check the box that says "create a new wallet in that currency", then hit save.  Next trade 1BTC or whatever into that currency so you have a balance.

If your still looking or taking folks to work with this happy to help or get in line to help
297  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: pirate payments list -- accounts paid: 23/459 on: September 14, 2012, 12:12:31 PM
he's still checking the forums.

...that's what I am hoping...and if I ask REALLY nice-like, perhaps I will get paid.

It would really suck for him to break the trust that so many people have had for him over the past months.
Maybe he's trying to teach us all a lesson ? ...and he will re-appear, like the second coming of christ !

Let's all pray to Satan or whoever we chose, that pirateat40 returns with all of our lost bitcoins and has stories of a grand adventure to tell us all once he has returned.

He checked the forum about 13 hours ago, so I believe there is still hope and if he returned, I would great him as a brother.

I heard he will have his own presentation at bitcoin conference in London to tell everybody how his con was prepared and executed from the day 1. Then he will thank everybody who participated and will vanish to his Caribbean island. Cool
If that was ture (which I am sure it is not) I would bet (and not making a BTC bet just saying) half the audiance would be kicking his ass in about 30 seconds after he introduced himself.  Now that I would like to see on UTube

299  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Reminder: It is quick and easy to report internet scams to the FBI on: September 13, 2012, 07:49:15 PM
Alternatively you could avoid bringing legal attention to bitcoin by using your brain to avoid getting scammed.
BINGO!

Whats wrong with legal attention? A scam is a scam regardless. Just because bitcoins were used does not make any difference. Obviously I agree that those who were scammed are not the brightest bunch and their money is gone, but if people are allowed to get away with fraud, it will never end.
Do you pay taxes from your bitcoin-related profits?

If I ever cash out, sure. Bitcoin is also going to be short-lived as a tax-evasion tool. It's not like the govt doesn't know about it.

300  Economy / Speculation / Re: QE3 is here! RALLY!!! on: September 13, 2012, 07:47:44 PM
1. As in the past those announcements lacked to have an immediate effect on USD/BTC price.

2. The effect will nevertheless be felt when USD inflates in comparison to other currencies like EUR, GBP etc. due to arbitrageurs that help decouple BTC price from USD price IMO. Maybe I got number 2 wrong here. PLs correct me if thats the case.

+1

It is in the future as the dollar becomes weaker.....
