282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why should governments allow bitcoin to continue grow? on: October 12, 2017, 11:23:40 PM
The truth is if the government will be involved, the whole decentralised thing about bitcoin will be nonsense.
The government will surely take away the anonymity for it will be needing legal basis for transactions. The main third party that the bitcoin is against is the government itself because of high fees. So literally, if bitcoin is just like another currency, the only characteristic that it can be popular of is its volality, and it's access in the internet. When it comes to use, both fiat and bitcoin will have fees and not profitable anymore. ( worst case I can think of )
just the fact that the government is involved does not necessarily result in decentralization;  the very nature and structure of bitcoin keeps it from being centralized without massive resources being dedicated towards control, for example, the 51% attack. unless a government specifically aims to control bitcoin and is willing to dedicate ample resources to this effort, this will never happen.

The government of some countries thinks that if virtual currency is given more priority then its policy on the payment currency will have an effect. The use of public on the main currency will be reduced. So they used to adopt any other currency as a legal offense. But, If they give permission to use bitcoin direct then all public use bitcoin.and increase bitcoin demand and continue grow.
In fact in present time most of the countries are still not aware from the importance of bitcoin. i think that with the passage of time as soon as bitcoin will become more populars its importance is also increasing from time to time, therefore i can say that such government will also understand the importance of bitcoin and will surely consider it as legal currency.
most major countries are starting to however. we can see major countries and nations that are leading in technology coming forth with their decisions on bitcoin in the recent weeks (china, korea, japan), and it can reasonably be expected that others will soon follow. i dont expect it to be long before we see which countries will come forth and we should be able to judge where bitcoin will develop and be adopted.
283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Japan leader bitcoin? on: October 12, 2017, 08:12:35 AM
They certainly are the new leader of any advancement in utilizing bitcoin since they've been pretty positive about anything related to bitcoin so far. Companies issuing bitcoin bonds, regulations for safely trading cryptocurrencies and overall positive reception of bitcoin, Japan is a lovely example of a country seeing the good things about bitcoin.
it's definitely well received by the japanese; i was over in tokyo the other week and many of the department stores (excluding restaurants) had signs at checkout counters indicating that bitcoin payments were accepted there. I didn't happen to have access to my private keys at the time, so I unfortunately couldn't try it out myself, but it was pretty interesting to see.

after china and Korea Ban bitcoin exchange

Are you think Japan now bitcoin world leader ?

What do you mean by bitcoin world leader, in terms of what? because as far as I know China is the nation that have the most cryptocurrencies in their possession thinking the fact that they almost control the 70% of mining power in the whole world so logically they have the no.1 leader board when it comes to crypto holdings. Japan maybe the number one country when it comes to accepting Bitcoin as a legal tender as their government fully accept it nationwide.
just controlling volume doesn't mean anything, for all we know they could just be holding that bitcoin to prevent circulation and use. personally, i believe widespread use is much more indicative of being the forefront of bitcoin use in this case; the more use it sees, the more commonplace it becomes, and will eventually become general knowledge to the people. at that point, the people and the government will look the further the possibilities of use, and develop the technology further as they become more involved with bitcoin than any other nation.
284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Are Now Used in Crimes on: October 11, 2017, 04:56:58 AM
this one is the biggest disadvantage of bitcoin that it is being used by criminals to do illegal activities like money laundering and trade of illegal stuffs.
people use dollars for the exact same thing; i dont think the neighborhood weed dealer is really going to ask for bitcoin over a good 20 dollar (or whatever currency you use) bill. same thing with larger deals, in fact, its probably much harder to trace a suitcase full of paper money (assuming there isnt a tracer on it or anything) over a pseudoanonymous transaction made with bitcoin. there is no possible way to trace that suitcase, aside from reading individual serial numbers of the bills, and even then you would have to know what serial numbers are contained in that suitcase full of money. with bitcoin, the transaction is right there o the network for everyone to see. you would know exactly which address sent exactly how much money to another exact address. its just a matter of linking those addresses to a person and the transaction to what deal was made.
285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Are Now Used in Crimes on: October 11, 2017, 04:29:29 AM
Yes, nowadays it’s being used in crime, they buy and sell online and pay by bitcoin. Because it’s untraceable. So police can’t get clue to caught them. I think it’s dangerous.
nowadays? bitcoin has been used for illegal purchases for years now, the first known major case being the silk road, followed by other deep web marketplaces. it still sees use in criminal trades to this day, in an even more widespread fashion now more than ever. and as for saying bitcoin is anonymous, that's a step off from the truth. bitcoin is only pseudoanonymous, as long as you can connect an address to an identity / a person, you can reasonably link all purchases from that address, and possibly the other addresses of the wallet that the address belongs to, to a single person. additionally, with knowledge on which transactions were used for what specific purposes, you can determine if that individual or group has used bitcoin for a transaction for illegal goods or services. it's just gathering that information that allows bitcoin to remain somewhat anonymous. however, people have had addresses linked to their real life identities before, and have been arrested for their involvement in illegal activities related to bitcoin.
286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Africa Slow on the Bitcoin Uptake? on: October 10, 2017, 07:58:20 PM
We're talking about a 3rd world continent. It's not hard to guess why the bitcoin uptake is slow.
lack of infrastructure, education, and a willingness to invest effort into secondary needs. it's a fact, africa isnt exactly the forefront of technology in our world, not just in development or anything, but the infrastructure just isnt there. usage of modern technology isnt widespread, and there isnt even a sufficient economy to support development of technological infrastructure. even setting the economy aside, i dont think a sufficient part of the african population can even set aside time from the basic necessities (work, survival) to educate themselves or familiarize themselves with modern technology. it's just not a suitable environment for progress.

288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction. on: October 06, 2017, 01:22:12 PM
Gambling addiction will only ruin your life. I believe that greediness will lead you to loss all your money and when you have nothing left in your wallet, you will start find ways to cover it and continue playing by selling your stuffs or borrowing money from other which are very worst, it is not a healthy mindset anymore.

I totally agree. that is why we should only gamble in moderation and with the money that we can afford to lose otherwise, we end up getting really in bad shape financially and with our relationship with loved ones and friends.
even if you've got money to spare, that doesn't mean you should feel free to throw it away on a table, you could use that money for a plethora of other things that would actually benefit you. even with money to spare, gambling is something that one should partake in only occasionally. even just playing small amounts regularly can easily and quickly lead to a downward spiral.

Why is someone get addicted to gambling once he gamble ?

Since that would be the first time he or she experience acquiring money without working hard for it, making it easy for him or her to say that gambling is a better way of earning money.
that's not true at all, I think most people understand the inherent risks with gambling. of course, they did gain some money without much effort, but they understand they could've lost that money as well. I think it's more about actually playing than the money for people that do end up becoming addicted.

290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you see alts have chances against Bitcoins? on: October 06, 2017, 10:27:40 AM
Bitcoin is the mother of all altcoin, altcoins will never meet the value of this bitcoin but i think altcoin is a big contribution to the bitcoim because this are the reason why bitcoin is still alive
bitcoin was the first, yes, but that alone can't keep bitcoin on top forever. altcoins constantly seek to improve and include features that bitcoin do not have. it's a large part of their appeal. I'm off the opinion that eventually, an altcoin will come along that offers everything from security to a high market cap, fit for mainstream adoption and large scale use. just look at ethereum, it's boomed since its release due to the popularity and desirability of its features.
291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you like slot games ? on: October 06, 2017, 10:06:28 AM
I sometimes like to play slot machines, because it's simple enough and fun, but more I prefer more serious kinds of games such as poker or sports betting.
also should note that it is possible to make a consistent profit with poker, while the exact opposite holds true for slots.

The online slots I've seen are all very basic compared to physical slots. You just click and win or lose, there's no gameplay or anything. Even something as simple as holds and nudges would be an improvement. I think there is a long way to go on developing online slots before I start playing them.

Yes online slots are basically different slots online than physical slots,I just know like that and it seems like I have played it.I prefer physical slots because there are gameplay and bonuses that are so brilliant, besides I prefer physical slots because animated images are alive  Wink
you might prefer physical slot machines, but keep in mind you don't know what the edge on those machines are, or how they're programmed to work. for all you know, those things might be sitting on a 10% edge. in fact, I remember reading an article featuring an interview with a casino manager some time ago; relative to the money spent, the manager disclosed that the slot machines made the house the most money.
292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in College??? on: October 05, 2017, 06:27:09 PM
Bitcoin as a course or any related currency on web.
In my country we have multiple courses in computer especially programing and web developments. My course is also information technology, but i've never heard or learn about online currency as bitcoin. In present, and future studies is there any chances for inserting about it in education. In your country is it available?
It would be better for any country to adopt bitcoin in educating new generations. Instead of playing games and wasting money in surfing xxx sites.

You have a point in you opinion, but in the otherhand if there a lot of students know about bitcoin it can cause a distraction to them. It may be their mindset will change that they will focus in bitcoin that studying because even you are not a graduate you can still earn a lot which is not good. Its better to teach them the importance of studies than bitcoin. For me, money can destroy the human right characteristics.
it wouldnt be a distraction if it were to be introduced as a class in an academic setting. with a large number of companies now starting to look into bitcoin and even integrating it into their existing business (not to mention all the bitcoin affiliated startups), just having some formal education on bitcoin and blockchain technology could be a huge plus for those looking for jobs with these companies. with this, all of the downsides you've listed in your post shouldn't matter. besides, there are plenty of university level students that disregard their studies and fail out anyways, i've seen it happen at my old school often. if want to be there, theyll study, nothing can change that.

293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can cryptocurrency make real money disappear? on: October 05, 2017, 03:22:03 PM
i am pretty certain that there is no way cryptocurency can absolutely displace actual funds as you can see not every person can find the money for the use of net and the place the use of electronic forex can be use,but crytpocencry can affect the value of actual funds in a number of approaches and this is why some cointry are attempting tough to stop the use of bitcoin but so a lot of country that see bitcoin for instance as a digital asset are attempting difficult to undertake it
why not? the idea of currency is an ever evolving one, and the fiat currencies that we're familiar with today are just the current iteration. it's not as if we've always used dollars and euros; the human race has used various things and currency all throughout history, ranging from salt to precious metals. There's absolutely no reason that bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general can't be the next iteration in the idea of currency, after all, we are moving towards a digital era, it's only fitting we have a digital currency to match.
294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it risky to turn all my money to bitcoins? on: October 05, 2017, 03:13:17 PM
there is nothing that does not have a risk, especially things that are associated with bitcoin, because bitcoin and altcoin the other is a very unstable currency, and always fluctuate, you should not all your money is converted into bitcoin, but some, because bitcoin is still potentially big to increase
it's not the volatility of bitcoin that's the big risk here, it's the complete lack of diversification. putting everything into one asset means you accept the risk of a crash; if your asset drops 10% overnight (which has happened before with bitcoin, and there have been larger dips in price), you just lost 10% of your net value overnight. if anything, diversifying your holdings into several cryptocurrencies would be a much better move in my opinion. if one drops, you're going to take a smaller hit, and another currency could have risen to compensate.
295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Die Because of China? on: October 05, 2017, 02:43:37 PM
who is chinese so they can kill bitcoin, their excess is only because the population is so much that the market there is very good,.
The only reason we all are expecting China to kill bitcoin is their population and thus ultimately more users than other countries. Besides, there is no more influence of China on bitcoin. So, don’t worry they will never kill it rather they will be going to accept it for their own benefits, wait and watch.

China will fail when rest of the world will be using bitcoins. Still China government will not be able to prevent their citizens to use/adopt bitcoins. Yes, literally governments has zero control over crypto world.
there is still plenty of influence that China holds over bitcoin, directly and indirectly. like it or not, future regulations and legislation that China passes on bitcoin could hold massive sway in bitcoin's price. let's say for example China lifts their bans and in place, imposes fair regulations on exchanges and usage. we might see bitcoin benefit from this as the Chinese users are given legal access to bitcoin on safe, regulated exchanges. however, imagine if the ban was lifted, but it was mandatory that all citizens disclose their used addresses and transactions. people might not even bother with bitcoin at that point, and would limit usage by billions of people residing in China.
296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots Strategies? on: October 05, 2017, 02:02:48 PM
If dice wasn't bad enough for gambling with a strategy, slots would be way worse. A lot of slot games has more than 1% house edge and even if you were able to think about a strategy on slots then it would be lose far quicker than when you just used one on dice.

I have played slots before and sometimes its really infuriating and other times a lot of addicting fun. But There doesnt seem much more to it than spinning the reels or pressing one button. Does anyone know of any slot strategies people use? Is there such a thing as a professional slotter haha. OR is it really the most heavily dependent on luck gambling game ?

Slots heavily relies on our luck, so we can't have any strategy to win on slots or on any other luck based games. slots are really addictive and fun, they also have highest house edge(we play it anyway lol). strategy can be applied only on skill based games.
Some have 1% house edge afaik you can search the list of slot games that most bitcoin casino offer on google. It depends on which game you choose to play.

There's still a little bit of skill applied(maybe 10%) to playing slots like swapping bet amounts after 5-10 bets kinda similar to dice.

How was swapping bets make anything better in these kinds of games? Is that a superstition or you have some mathematical explanation for that?
I don't think there's any sort of mathematical explanation that exists that could justify the statement that changing lines or adding them could result in a higher ev. you add lines, it costs more to play and you win less, although you have a higher chance of winning. outside of that, you've zero control over the game. I don't know how this person cab justify saying that there's even the smallest factor where 'skill' can come into play. they might even be delusional.
297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The advantages of bitcoin on: October 05, 2017, 01:00:38 PM
We can get a lot of benefits from bitcoin. We can get a new life from bitcoin if we know more about bitcoin exactly then we can get it by joining the project bounty. It is a new hope, a new source income for me.
That is correct, because of the possibility of bitcoin to become a source of income it is best for the people who are currently unemployed to get a source of income which they really want to have. Bitcoin gives a lot of advantages and it is not only about the source of income it also gives possibilities to experience faster transaction process unlike the remittances that currently have in our place.
Even employed help a lot by bitcoin as this is their sideline and another source of income just what i do but since what my profit i got from my job and the profit i got from bitcoin i left my job because it is much better instead of making this as sideline i take it full time just to be focus and get more profit here in bitcoin.
One of the benefits of bitcoin, aside from it can also be for a long term savings or investment, you can choose freely what time you are going to check your bitcoin, or you can have some programs in your gadget that will automatically check up what you have for, you can also check with it manually despite having a day time or regular job.
similarly, it's an asset you can use to secure some of your liquidity. since bitcoin isn't necessarily tied to another currency, it can be a relatively safe way to hold your funds in case of a financial crisis. iirc, the Greeks rushed to buy bitcoin in hopes of retaining some financial value when their economy crashed in 2015.

One of the advantage of bitcoin is the fast transaction, no ID needed unlike in payment through bank it takes time to process. And also the transaction in bitcoin cannot be identified.
bitcoin is pseudo anonymous. every transaction ever made can be publicly seen on the blockchain, it's just a matter of finding it.
298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government regulation of bitcoin on: October 05, 2017, 12:50:43 PM
Government regulation will help Bitcoin to grow to next level. More people will know it and use it.
only with the appropriate amount of regulation. with too much regulation, usage might be harshly restricted, and legal use might not be possible in many cases. however, if a government regulated bitcoin in order to create a safer environment for users, people would take it on themselves to become knowledgeable on bitcoin and use it, knowing it has the government's support.
299  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: October 05, 2017, 06:47:33 AM
Gambling offers the opportunity to become rich almost without doing anything and those who like easy money will come back again to try again. You need to set a limit for the game in order not to lose everything.

The opportunity that only few can get but or nobody ever did not unless you gamble by buying a lotto ticket and got lucky to win the jackpot price. The irony of life even if we know what will be the effect of gambling still we try our luck with this concept.
Only few gamblers are able to make money through gambling and it is because they have luck with them. Otherwise, majority fails rather ruin their lives in trying to become rich by placing bets.

If it was this easy, then at least one fourth of the world would have been millionaire already but some people like to try out their luck every time.
id think it more to be than just a few, it's just that very few people can make money off of gambling consistently. poker and counting in blackjack are namely the two exceptions that come to mind, and with enough skill and experience, these two games can result in consistent profits for the player (i wouldn't recommend the latter, you're still playing against the house and it won't be fun if you get caught by the casino). however, id think that some of the small time players, especially ones that only play a few rounds and never bother coming back, could very well have made a small profit in their short time.

What I heard about how people get addicted to gambling is due to the fact that people who gamble is thinking that gambling can make them rich. Also the excitement and thrill when they gamble. Sometimes there are people who only gamble to escape reality with a promise of possible fortune. Almost anyone can be attracted by a promise of wealth. And with it can draw people to get addicted.
Everyone have the same purpose mostly in making money instantly in gambling.
That is the most attractive factor , you cannot avoid about that too right? Really a simple way to live this short life.
But they are mostly did not responsible too , and just creates a lot more problem.
Not everyone but majority starts gambling in the search of money. They forget a simple fact that in this life, nothing can be achieved by simply doing nothing. Once they win few games, their greed increase and become addict after that once they are considered as regular customer, the house tries to steal all of his wealth. He starts losing which give birth to desperation. Then they try to recover their loss.
i'd disagree with this statement, i think for most newcomers, the money is secondary, and are mostly after the experience / some fun of trying it out.
300  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: eSports Picks! [5 W / 0 L] on: October 05, 2017, 06:09:54 AM
I think you are a CSGO gamer so you only predict about the CSGO games. CSGO is better than DOTA in my opinion, cause everyround has their own suprise that DOTA can't have. By the way, i will wait for your prediction for today, or maybe we can exchange the tips together? Cause i'm good in basketball too, specially NBA which now is in the pre-season.
you've contradicted your own statement; if anything, the 'random' and 'surprise' factor that exists in csgo more so than in dota adds more variance, and therefore a higher degree in uncertainty in predictions. i'll confess, im not the most familiar with dota, but it would seem to me the moba genre has more consistent outcomes as far as teams, general skill level, and win chances go. with csgo, there's too many chances for something to go wrong, and result in an underdog taking the unlikely victory; aim is slightly off, huge picks that lead to a team going bankrupt and costing 3, even 4 rounds, or even just one player having a good or bad day. thats not to say predictions are impossible or even unlikely, just may not go as you might think more often compared to dota.
