281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a habit of tracking your gambling progress? on: April 08, 2024, 01:59:17 PM
How can people even track their progress? Writing down on the paper all bets and see how many gambler made of them and win/lose ration will take a lot of time and will distract from the game. If I go to my account on a gambling platform I see amount wagered, in which cryptocurrencies it was made, and in which game. But I know most of that info just by playing games I like most. What can I do with info, if I have wagered 1 BTC in dice, and 0.00000001 BTC in hi-lo, besides knowing that I place dice more often. I know info that without statistics. How can this even help me or be useful?
I think total wagered amount would already be that sufficient enough for you to determine whether you are at loss considering that it would really be showing if you are that in profit or loss.
If its not that available then you could always check out about your deposit overall amount and with the withdrawals you could make. If you are really just that basing with those numbers then you could make out some computations. Although its a bit hassle specially if you are someone do make out several transfers and withdraws on a certain day but eventually there are some sites which do shows all
about in regarding about profitability or on how much you do earn already. This is why i do see some platforms on having this which it is really that a feature or info that i do like to check out.

Really? My account states that I have wagered $64,156.12, but that does not mean I have deposited, won or lost such and amount. The amount I have deposited (the actual amount I would have lost if  I want withdrawing) is not even close that number. What can I do with that info? Pretty much useless. Would be thankful if anyone would teach what good I can learn from that.

Of course we can't determine how much we lose by just looking at total amount wagered. Because you can deposit like $1000 and if you are managing it right, you will last longer and the longer you last the more your total wagers will increase. Normally it's easy to increase our total wagers on games that have a quick outcome. If we like to determine how much we loss in total, we should check the total amount deposit and less it to total withdrawals, the answer should likely be the total amount you loss over the period of time.
282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: April 08, 2024, 11:21:13 AM
Most people who are addicted to gambling during their breaks often gamble at work because they already have a habit or addiction that they cannot stop. It is true that gambling really interferes with the productivity of an employee's performance because at that time he has to use his time to rest properly, but with this bad habit the gambler actually uses his rest time to gamble and maybe this is actually not recommended because after he has to go back to work he has very tired and performance will definitely be disrupted. And in the end, as you said, he received sanctions or was expelled from the company.

Like gambling is the only thing that a person can be tired from. It will be stupid if employer fires someone because he gambles from time to time at work. If employee spends whole day gambling instead of working then this one thing. But if employee gambles today for 10 minutes, few day ago did the same, and plans to gamble gamble on Friday for 20min, firing him just for that, when it takes time to find replacement, months to teach new employee, wait till he passes successfully probationary period. Will it really be that wise? If a former employee that gambles during work makes not harm for a company.

They don't have to evaluate things on how much gambling has affected the life of their employees. Man, they just want to keep it simple, that's why a company create a rules for employees to follow, and every rules there's always a consequences of the action, and I think in most companies, if you got caught gambling at work, that means suspension, or worse termination, so it's better to avoid that as they always implement the rules to protect the interest of the company.
283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 08, 2024, 10:25:44 AM
What happened to the Rockets? It turns out my predictions for the Rockets were correct; they only won around 1-3 games in their last ten games. From 10-game winning streak, they are now 10-5. It's a shame; if they had continued winning, they could have still made it to the Play-in tournament. But now, they're completely out for the play-in tournament. What do you think, if Alperen Sengun didn't miss the remaining games will Rockets make even the Play-In Tournament? Better next time for the Houston Rockets!
They are not for real dude, at least they reach at that level, after that 10 winning streak, now they are in 5 losing streak. It was just one game when they loss and they already give up, now they are out in the play-in so there's no need for them to play harder on their upcoming games, safe to say, they are done.

I think this team will improve next season, their experience this season is quite impressive already as with the new coach he turn this bad team to be a competitive one and he makes Green better that might not be traded in the future because of his performance during their winning streak.
284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 08, 2024, 08:41:12 AM
SMB vs DYIP ( not an upset for sure..again)

They can't be lucky twice, but I'm concern on the spread of the game as for sure bookies will still make them a heavy underdog which could lead to a trap. The game vs Ginebra, it was -9.5, so against SMB who are still undefeated, that might be -11.5 or more, and when I see that kind of line, I would be betting on DYIP to cover, just to cover as I don't believe they can beat the SMB, unless they are too lucky.

We can't really predict the game easily, it has been tough nowadays in PBA as underdog keeps winning and since most of us really focus on the favorites thinking these farm teams will continue to tank, that is killing our bankroll, maybe we can change that kind of perception a bit.

Indeed, there's a unimagine basis on how bookies are bringing the handicap which most of the time leads gamblers to a misleading assumptions, though SMB might be too much and if ever that they will win this game probably if basing with the current stats they can underman the DYIP in all aspects, though that's also same with how Gin kings got but they've lost the game, again, tough call but risk needed to take when aiming for a better odds if you a fan of SMB.

Going to watch the live games and see if DYIP will perform chance that the odd will be change might give me a much better assessment, good luck to those who already place their bets.

That's a great strategy, we have to wait and see, if the DYIP are playing well then we can go and bet on them by taking the handicap. For sure we can still find a high handicap since in the pre game, spread will likely be +10, so +5 to +8 is still good as long as they are playing to compete.

I believe that DYIP now is very confident as they recently beat the Ginebra which is one of the top teams, this young team are playing like they aren't losing anything so the chemistry are improving. I can't wait for this, hopefully our expectations are not wrong.

How about the total? I'm thinking of betting on the over....
285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stopping the curse of losing streak? on: April 07, 2024, 02:20:25 PM
Taking a break is very necessary when you are in a losing streak as that's the only way you'll be able to evaluate what you are doing wrong. I know everyone has experience a losing streak and I'm sure some of us experience that as we continue we loss more, I think that's just the nature of human but we can learn how to be discipline and play the game based on the created game plan.

Changing of game, maybe it will work but for me I'm more focus on the games that I love to play and that I believe I will win, and having a cold streak is just normal. You are lucky to hit a jackpot, but that doesn't mean that if we follow you, will have a break and we comeback we win a jackpot, it's more like minimizing our losses to be more realistic.

TNT is back in action, now playing with its sister team which is the Meralco Bolts. So far, looking good for both teams as the game is close but there's still plenty of time they are only in the 2nd quarter. My bet here goes to the Meralco Bolts as I don't like what I saw on the last game of TNT, so I'm hoping that Meralco will win and cover. The spread was only +1.5 for Meralco but I took the moneyline.

Looking at the score, Pogoy is still leading the scoring and followed by Oftana, the same pattern last game hopefully the same result.

It seems that TNT still leading after 2 quarters if they can hold this 2-digits lead and mantain the momentum they might win this game but like what you've said there's still enough time for Meralco to catch up and maybe possible to turn the tempo in their favor, let see if how these
game will ends up, I like to see competition even it's a sister team who are playing against each other.

Both teams needs every wins that they can take while still in the early season of the league, possible to catch for the 2nd round and manage to work things out to reach the finals.

It was a close game, either team could win because Meralco was able to mount a comeback, unfortunately they fell short in the end resulting to TNT winning by 2 points only. Meralco actually had a chance to win if that 3 point shot sink in, but it didn't so TNT is lucky to have a win after a very disappointing performance vs the Northport.

Meanwhile, we have DYIP vs Ginebra playing. Already in the 3rd now but DYIP is still leading the game, not sure if Ginebra could cover the spread if they will win, it was -9.5 before the game, so they need to have a strong run if they want to win by double digit.

It's only -2.5 live now, this looks like Ginebra won't be able to win here. Two losing streak is bad but they really miss Thompson who has turned himself a good point guard and a good defender as well. Normally, 4th quarter is where Ginebra loves to have a run, let's see if it's gonna happen. I'm happy by the way seeing Tenorio being healthy again and he is gaining good minutes in this game.

I'm just wondering, did Tenorio already won a best player of the game since his return ?

If you get tempted to take that -2.5 live, you'll regret your decision as Ginebra could not capitalize a comeback in the 4th. C. Stand didn't comeback anymore, I heard he was injured, so they struggle a lot on where they will be getting their points.

This is just too bad for Ginebra, they loss C. Stand, Pringle with limited minutes and Thompson still hasn't return, as a result a real struggle has been experience. Also the main gunner of the team struggle big time, Ahamnissi with 6 points only and Malonzo with 10, they can't win a game like that. If they will not improve next game, they'll experience 3 losses in a row.

287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: April 07, 2024, 12:03:32 PM
Legendary boxer vs Clown, You made me laugh so much when you said this, hahahah. But it makes sense, which I also think is true. Is that the type where you fight the black belter against the yellow belter? That's how it used to be for me that the gap is so far.

I can't imagine that you are going to fight the former heavyweight world boxing champion in the ring if you know that you are not a heavyweight. It's like what I'm still seeing there: steel vs. wood.

How come that clown was able to knock out more experienced opponents if was a «yellow belter» ? That clown had a fight against a professional boxer (if you would say that other opponents were not boxers and were retired), and he did not looked bad. Lost by split decision, but he wasnt knocked out, humiliated or destroyed. The clown has been training boxing for 4-6 years already, and you still call him a «yellow belter». Do you think that during last 4-6 years Mike Tyson has been frequently seen in the boxing gym or in regular gym? From your post it sounds like it will be a beating, but there is always a chance for a sudden knockout.
@kingvirtus09 must be living in the past, he didn't know that Mike Tyson is already old, while Jake Paul though he looks like a clown but he had proven himself as he had more wins than losses, and even fought real pro and able to win. Mike Tyson is old, that's it, even if he is a legendary boxer but he isn't actively fighting anymore, so it's too risky for him to all out in the ring with a younger boxer as his mind might say yes but his body will not cooperate.

We have our own personal opinion here, we respect each other but my stand is Jake Paul are going to win the fight.

AFAIR, there will be no winner if no knockout, so I'm expect he could knock out an old Mike Tyson.

289  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you think merit is by chance or lengthy article? on: April 06, 2024, 09:59:56 PM
What brings merit is quality post but the quality of your post is subjective which means it depends on the merit source spread merit based on what he /she considers as quality post.

A quality post can either be lengthy or short but it's more about the information that it contains. Sometimes your post can be very informative but it has been treated or it's known to the people already hence they do not consider it anymore.

But perhaps you want to earn some merit for good post then you have to look at how people who have been earning some good merit does it and then if you follow the steps it certainly bring you some merit too.
Well, it’s the content of the post that matters the most, regardless if it’s written short but precise or long and detailed. But I suggest stick more on shorter post that still creates a huge impact to the readers, than to make a lengthy post and makes the reader get tired or bored. Just try to observe how those reputable legendary members are constructing their post, most likely they’re not that long but you will really notice that it goes straight to the point. And what is completely required by the thread, the poster have provided it well, no wonder why even a simple yet meaningful post still gets numerous merits.
290  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: This bitcoin bull market isn't over yet ! on: April 06, 2024, 09:00:02 PM
I personally seem to be of the opinion that the Bullrun has just begun. And it's still long enough to say it will end. but I don't have much experience in bullrun markets before. so maybe I could be wrong. It's just that I match previous periods in the market. Although after the halving there may sometimes be a temporary correction. but after that the real increase will occur. So I think it's still time to keep holding our bitcoin if the goal is only a medium-term investment. but if the goal is long-term investment then I think we don't need to worry about market movements at this time.
The bitcoin bull market is obviously still happening up to now. We can see that despite of some price correction, bitcoin price still recover quickly until it gets another significant price increase before halving comes. This shows that we are still in the early bull run, and how long this market will be, it’s clearly we can’t tell. The only certain thing here is, as soon as bitcoin halving is over, then it’s more expected for bitcoin to create another good price increase consistently until it reaches the final bull run in the market.
291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 06, 2024, 03:23:34 PM
So after TNT got dominated the other day, now it's Magnolia who loss to the NLEX RoadWarriors in again another dominating game. Bollick still continue to remain consistent but it was Semerad who was the best player in the game who contributed 22 points.

This is looking very unpredictable now, and I'm seeing this NLEX team to be the dark horse in the playoffs. Now they are the only team who reach 5 wins, although not at the top yet since SMB own the top spot with 4-0 standing.

It's all because of Bollick, he had a better version of team now, if he didn't come back in the Philippines, NLEX would have the same struggle they have in the previous season. I like that they are so comfortable with their respective rules now, they played great defense and they don't hesitate to shoot, good thing they have Bollick who can attack and destroy the defense of their opponents. Attack, pass to the open man and shoot without hesitation, that hasn't been their play, and it's been working. For the NLEX to lose, Bollick should be limited, but thus far, no team has even done that as they are already in a winning streak.

This is his best season so far, hopefully he'll stay with NLEX as it would be disappointing to the fans if he'll sign with the Giant teams. I mean, we are hoping to see more balance in the current PBA league, so if they'll take Bollick out, that will make NLEX a bad team, like a farm team, we don't want to see that happen. However, if a trade is really inevitable, most likely Bollick will be traded to TNT which I think will make TNT a championship team again.

That cannot be assured as TNT are trying to get back to the championship level again. As a fan, I would love to see MP vs Cojuangco team facing in the Finals, that way it looks more legit as they would not agree to manipulate the outcome unlike with teams that are sister teams. It's not proven but speculations do exist and sometimes it looks convincing so personally it cast doubt to my mind already.

Bollick has only played less than a year since his return to the PBA, so maybe more time before he will leave NLEX, but as for now, we are enjoying what we are seeing because this is quite unusual for a team that aren't a championship caliber.

293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA Betting Tips Heading into the 2024 Postseason on: April 06, 2024, 11:52:20 AM
Miami is slowly climbing the ladder, competition is very close in the East from 2 to 8 spot, so it's not impossible that Miami could finish at 6 and will automatically be in the playoffs. With their win vs the Rockets, their ranking has improve a bit as they already pass the 76ers. They still have 5 games coming, but 2 of the 5 is versus the Raptors which I think they can easily beat. ( they are not the Bucks).. Grin

Tough opponents to beat for me are Mavericks, Pacers, and Hawks, but I think they'll beat the Hawks too.
294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Profiting from BTC: just luck? on: April 05, 2024, 11:57:40 PM
Profiting from bitcoin at this point is an obvious choice, and a rational one at that. We have over a decade of data to reference from with our decisions as to whether to put in some money in bitcoin or not. We also know how the market works, and with all these information combined, we are somewhat not blind with the possible scenarios when we invest in bitcoin.

I'd probably hold bitcoin for a long time, or until I'm not capable of holding it. It just brings a lot of financial gains to those who hold it and believe in it at this point that I think luck doesn't really affect it anymore.
Bitcoin investment is not a luck based so most likely, you earn profits not definitely because you are lucky but because you are investing in the highly potential investment and you’ve made the right decision to invest in it. It’s far from gambling where luck seems to rule, but with bitcoin investment, it’s more on rational thinking and patience that helps you come out with massive profits in the end.
295  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why technical analysis is not reliable on: April 05, 2024, 10:00:00 PM
Technical analysis is not 100% accurate I mean there is no analysis that always hit 100% win rate without a single loss or else maybe people are using the technique all the time.

To be honest, TA is reliable when much of people know the technique ex. EMA 100 and 200 is well know moving average to determine long term trend and the price usually reject at that level for 70% all the time I believe because a lot of people believe in it. or simple TA like basic supply and demand zone or support and resistance zone is has 80% accurate in my opinion
Using technical analysis won’t guarantee sure profits. Although it can make some traders end up profitable with trading, but that also depends how those traders use technical analysis mixed with their general knowledge and skills in trading. Because otherwise, if they only rely on using technical analysis alone, that would not create high potentials to come up with a successful trade.

The market is highly unpredictable, and trading only using technical analysis will not be good enough. Good amount of trading experience will be a more reliable one compared to trading focusing only on technical aspects.
296  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Buy Buy or Sell Sell Sell? on: April 05, 2024, 09:18:00 PM
Ive been hearing about situations where someone buys a coin for a certain rate and not quite long after,  the said coin drops in value, or  someone sells his coin for a certain rate and then it appreciates just after.
What's your take on this? Given the period we're in is it buy time or sell time?

The said coin can only be Bitcoin! any other coin will only be a pure gamble and there
is so much noise in that space you would be easily led into a pure $hitcoin.

Timing is a big consideration for buying and selling, but more so selling. We are approaching
the Bitcoin halving and with the historical events surrounding the halving you should be
buying now and if you want to sell - wait 8 to 12 months.

Dont be worried in a bull market if the market falls, its only a short term event. Todays value
of $64,500 is an example, last week it was $74,000 and I'm not panicking.
No one should really be panicking when you have understood completely the movement of bitcoin. It has its own highs and lows, but we all know that price decline never go consistently because at the end of the day, bitcoin price will rise and will definitely reach an all time high. Having said that, you will know that if you come out panicking, you will be at loss in the end.

The current price of bitcoin is priced at $67k and I should say this is still a good buy, but hold it for years so you can really experience how it feels to be in massive profits. Otherwise, if you buy at this price and aim to make short term profits, it would be hard for you to achieve somewhat an impressive price.
297  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am i bad to this friend if i refuse to loan him some money in bad economy on: April 05, 2024, 01:25:18 PM
It's a good idea to invest in bitcoins before buying clothes, but you should also remember to get stuff that makes you look good. Investing is good, and I also believe in not putting all my eggs in one basket. You can do different things that give you more in return.

About you helping your friend who used his money for Christmas clothes and shoes; it's not bad to get that stuff too. But if you have the money, I will advise you to help him out. But give what you can easily let go of.
It's not okay to judge people because we all have different priorities.
Always feel happy to know you're helping people, and the rewards will come back for you. You can also advise them on how to make more money without lavishing it on things.
While investing can be a great step towards financial freedom, one should also invest without compromising other needs in life, and I think buying some stuffs is not that bad at all as long as you only spend within your means, and you have reserved already for your emergency funds or for future investment.

Now talking about your friend, regardless where he spend his Christmas bonus, that’s already beyond your control.  But the fact that he’s in need right now and you have some extra funds to spare, then I guess giving him a small amount will make him feel good already. Just help when you think you can, no if’s and but’s, the important thing is you were there when he’s in a bad financial situation.
298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you advise a friend in the same way? on: April 05, 2024, 12:50:10 PM
You do not need to give him this kind of advice. You can advice him about how bitcoin is a good investment and that he can invest in it, but do not take it to the level of involving his parent company. Let him be the one to make that thinking and decision by himself. If bitcoin price start falling after he invested his father company money on it, he will start to blame you, even though the price of bitcoin will later still increase above the price he started investing.
You are giving him some guarantees that bitcoin will eventually make the company’s money works, and that doesn’t work that way easily. Bitcoin is a profitable investment yet a very risky one, most especially if you are using funds that you can hardly lose. So instead of advising him to invest the company’s funds, just tell him to invest using his own money, that is if he had really understood the risks and rewards with investing in bitcoin. Through this way, he will first experience it himself how risky bitcoin investment is, before he risk his parent company’s money and put the funds into risk.
299  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to handle emotions when you lose during trading. on: April 04, 2024, 08:36:26 PM
This thing has been discussed exhaustively in the forum, the talk of trading and how to control ones emotions when trading, i am not a day trader, but i think a trader with the right skills and knowledge, who knows the risk involved in trading would know how to combine trading and other life activities, and also know when to stop. The thing is, trading is quite risky, that is why newbies are advised to stay away from trading, whilst the mistake the more experienced traders make is to think they can make profits everytime, or to keep on chasing profit even when they are losing.
I have to say also I always bumped this kind of thread but I guess, I still see it interesting to answer. I think the moment you decide to enter trading, you have known already that handling emotions is crucial in trading, otherwise you will always end up with a negative outcome. And the only thing I did when I’m in at loss, I stopped trading and take a break. For me, it’s important not to rush in making profits in trading, so that it will not come to a point that you destroy your  mental and emotional state just to recover your losses and chase bigger profits when trading.
300  Economy / Speculation / Re: are you expecting Bitcoin to hit $400,000 after the bull run. on: April 04, 2024, 07:06:03 PM
Everything can happen after the next halving. The price of Bitcoin may rise to $400,000 but the price must be able to continue to increase without a deep correction. Now the price has decreased and reached $65k but even so, the price will increase again.

People are still allowed to buy Bitcoin, and hopefully, they can use it well. But if they just want to hold their Bitcoin while waiting, that's fine too. It all depends on each person's plans.

After this halving, we can expect to get big profits. So prepare your Bitcoins and continue buying Bitcoins if you still want them.
I still believe that $400k would be possible for bitcoin, but certainly not this year or next year. $200k-$250 k might be more reasonable for bitcoin if we are talking about the future price of bitcoin after halving or bull run is over. However, I am just telling based on my own interpretation on how bitcoin moves in the market, but if it’s price suddenly goes 6x all of a sudden which has not happened with the past bull run, then I might say that $400k may come into reality.
