is anyone mining max right now? how much more profitable than doge or yac with these prices?
I don't think MAX is profitable for us nVidia miners anymore, YAC is pretty good even though it lowered a bit, Doge IDK, I am mining microCoins: I must say the high numbers are addicting and now? haha just doubled again mcxnow.com

true that, but maybe that's not such a problem in the beginning, i'd think of it as a faucet, those aren't bot/tor proof either
Actually, we will try to get some dev resources to do something like that! If we can make it, you would definitively qualify for a bounty! thanks a lot, i think a game like that would give this coin the competitive edge or popularity boost that a coin needs these days to succeed

That coin is pretty funny. you say funny, i say profitable if you do that game edit: flappy coin are on it: true that, but maybe that's not such a problem in the beginning, i'd think of it as a faucet, those aren't bot/tor proof either

someone make a flappy bird game (web, ios, android) where you receive the amount of coins depending on how far you got and this is gonna skyrocket, no kidding
Nice idea, but it would be almost impossible to make such game hack/bot proof. true that, but maybe that's not such a problem in the beginning, i'd think of it as a faucet, those aren't bot/tor proof either

As i said i use an older release of cudaminer. With the more recent releases Christian changed the memory allocation, so my values won't get you anything mostlikely, other from the fact that you can get more out of your card.
if no one else has some more up to date values for you, the way to go is trial&error. Run autotune or benchmark with different L values and see what happens.
For the 3D mode im to noob to understand how it works, but several people observed that opening a browser seems to enable 3D mode for more performance (don't nail me on that though)
ok thanks again for your help, i shall reboot now, because for now i'm having this problem that my gpu doesn't clock up for all my miner configurations, even scrypt or keccak

is it worth it atm with nvidia? what kind of configuration are you running? thanks in advance! edit: k32x2 with a 760 4gb oc gives me 2.4 khash/s. can i optimise that? should i overclock the memory clock more? (currently at 6300) thanks again! Im running a GTX 760 2GB oced (+190 CPU clock, +442 mem clock) with -l K47x2 -L 4 getting 2.7 khash/s. It's only stable for scrypt-jane, if i do anything other e.g. opening a website the display driver crashes. But i use an older release of cudaminer, as i don't get the same or better results with the latest release. IIRC it is the release with the first lookup gap function, but i can't check atm, im at work. You should definitely oc your card imho, without it's wasted potential. The pool is ok, they are bit slow to confirm shares, but i can live with that, as they have no fees. thanks a lot! i'm getting 0.5 khash/s with that though. but at least now 3.2 gb of my video ram are used (compared to about 2.1 with k32x2) is it worth it atm with nvidia? what kind of configuration are you running? thanks in advance! edit: k32x2 with a 760 4gb oc gives me 2.4 khash/s. can i optimise that? should i overclock the memory clock more? (currently at 6300) thanks again! try -H 2 -C 0 -i 0 -l K6x32 thank you too, i seem to be stupid at this though, this gives me a lot of erros with "result does not validate on cpu". hmm, what am i doing wrong? edit: ahh my gpu isn't in 3d mode i guess, it's just running at half speed. is that a specialty with scrypt-jane?

in terms of mining yacoin.. do you mine yacoin or a clone? and which pool do you guys use?
|
|
|
we could do a manual pool, point our miners to some escrow guy, then distribute every day or something

in scanriecoin.c:209 repleace with and run with --max-prime=10000 speedup is about 200% but it maybe finds more composite numbers do you know what effect this has or are you just playing with the source? Gatra, please can you explain what this does? MR_TESTS is the number of miller rabin test performed to check if a number is prime, as more tests you use the more you can be sure the number is prime. This is important for the wallet, but not for the miner! (if a composite is submited the network rejects is) futur optimation coul be an implementation of the fermat test form primecoin, which also could speed up mining a bit. Also the miner is not optimized for cache performance! Yes, this miner is very inefficient, I will look into it this weekend if time permits Will this really speed up the mining process or just the speed we see in the miner? If the miner submits a composite does the wallet test it or is the network? can someone confirm that that --max-prime=10000 is gonna improve actual mining revenue?

i won't be doing any prime number based coins in cudaminer. Too hard. I've got a life, you know ;-)
haha ok, that's understandable. though from my naive point of view, shouldn't there be tons of prime number cuda code already available?
