2801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Only coin you can mine with one computer, is there any other coin only this one on: August 05, 2020, 09:47:37 AM
Before I joined this forum I am into staking and mining but gave up on it because of the cost and besides some miners are mining  up with their rigs and adding more machines I only have one then a friend invited me to one project where everybody can only mine using one computer you cannot add more computers because every 15 days you need do validation so you can mine you cannot validate all your computer unless you hire people to do it for you.

The name of the coin is IDENA  go chek it out and don't go late mining

https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/idenaO

And the page you are sharing is not found or broken. Let me ask you a question regarding that. Does it need for us to have a high-end GPU or graphics driver to make it happen? If only one computer, you mean per account or wallet address? IP address?

I’m looking into mining tokens using PC only that uses computing power by keeping it on.
2802  Other / Meta / Re: Advertising shiller spotted! on: August 04, 2020, 07:24:49 PM
I don't know if the shiller is the blog/website owner or was "paid to shill" by Coinpedia?

Maybe doing it for SEO or backlink purposes? Hmmm....
This user have already created multiple topics where he is trying to promote a specific website named "coinpedia". Almost all the topic contain the same website link and it took my attention today on bitcoin discussion board where he opened a topic about an Australian who wants to sell his house through bitcoin payment. I don’t know you have already reported his post or not but i am gonna do it from my end to let mods know about his activity.

After checking post history its clear that he is trying to drive visitors to his own site by providing same website link.

Haven't reported yet, but thank you for reporting him.

Because I have no clue or I don't know if there is a feature here on Bitcointalk where I could just report this account and not each post?

As for the website itself, it was registered way back 2016 as I've checked on Whois. It may be an established site, so I suspect that account was used for "paid shilling".
2803  Other / Meta / Advertising shiller spotted! on: August 04, 2020, 04:08:45 PM
Can the mods check this account please?

Profile link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2830919
Date registered: July 18, 2020

If you take a look at the post history, it was mostly blog advertising/shilling and ain't really natural at all.

The account averaged 1-2 "shill" posts daily. All except the first post were having raw and hyperlinks pointing to https://coinpedia.org

I don't know if the shiller is the blog/website owner or was "paid to shill" by Coinpedia?

Maybe doing it for SEO or backlink purposes? Hmmm....

Any thoughts about this one mods? Thanks!
2804  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: elmanchez exit scam, loan default on: August 04, 2020, 03:43:34 PM
I recently removed elmanchez from my trust list now. I totally forgot to remove it earlier because I thought back then (just like what everyone thinks) he was a good guy with decent trust rating after I donated (instead of lending) some BTC to him as heartfelt gesture for him to “pay off” his loan or dues, until this elmanchez exit scam was posted.

As I remembered about my last conversation with elmanchez, he claims that he was from Russia (correct me if I’m wrong later on).

I've just noticed that elmanchez very graciously added the text "away" to their profile before flying the coup:

Somehow I don't think they'll be back.

He's gonna be back again without warning, this time with new identity or so to scam more people. I don't know when will that gonna happen, but I had a gut feeling that he's going to strike "silently".

Maybe right now, he is in brainstorming mode about new ideas to scam more people without easily getting caught. Internet's a big place man. He might use different IPs or so. If only we knew about his real identity, we should contact the local authorities to have him apprehended before he would scam more victims elsewhere.

He is offering a banner and logo design I'm sure he will be back doing the same thing earning trust from his free offer then asking for loan when he already has a good trust rating this happen to those who default their loan.

He even offered me the same thing because I donated some BTC to him back then last year, but didn't fulfill it until I was completely ignored.

I also remembered back then that he was "begging" me to merit some of his posts, but I didn't because it's not the right thing to do.
2805  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone in the Bitcoin ATM business? on: August 04, 2020, 11:31:38 AM
How is going? Seems like machines continued fast growth during Covid... has it been a good year for the BATM owners?

I was thinking the same thing, but may need a lot of money to invest for having my own BTC ATM machine. However, it also needs me to pay a huge amount of money to legalize and regulate it to be operational in my country.

One of my friends invited me to come with her in an office of her business contact. I see that he had like 10 Bitcoin ATMs, but wasn’t ready yet to be deployed due to legal and regulatory requirements needed to be processed.

I would really want my own Bitcoin ATM, but need more funds to invest for it.
2806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will DeFi help ethereum reach it's old 4 figure value? on: August 04, 2020, 11:25:01 AM
Ethereum is growing popularity has largely been attributed to the rising interest in DeFi projects, what's going on? Will ethereum finally be able to leave it's 3 figure value?

The number of daily addresses interacting with ETH has surge in the past 24 hours to a Two Years single day high of 486,000 addresses! The last time Ethereum's address activity was this high was on May 5th, 2018

Even though that Ethereum is on a bullish move, I wouldn’t count on DeFi in being the big reason of ETH gaining back it’s 4-figure value. I know that there are some who have moved their BTC to ETH due to the rise of DeFi. I also know that DeFi is the nex big thing in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space.

However, the market condition is so unpredictable. There would be various circumstances later on after the bullish move. Remember Ethereum smart contract scams like Forsage, Voomo.io, MMM, OpenAlexa.io, etc.? It encourages people to buy Ethereum to lock positions in the matrix. It may contribute to the rise of ETH’s price, but may also led to a possible downfall when scammers are going to dump it if the right opportunity comes. At the same time, gas fees are ridiculously high as well.

I would love seeing Ethereum back to 4-figures, but it would take a long while for it to happen and I may not count it on DeFi as the main reason (same thing with smart contract scams). Just my two sats.
2807  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Late Show with Stephen Colbert calls bitcoin a scam on: August 04, 2020, 11:14:33 AM
Just curious if anyone else caught A Late Show with Stephen Colbert a few days ago where he spoke about the twitter hack where the hacker requested payment in bitcoin. During the segment he calls bitcoin a scam.  A pretty uneducated statement that was unfortunate to see. Obviously it didn't have much of an impact on bitcoin, but still kinda noteworthy.

One thing that I didn’t like about media is that they’re using the term “Bitcoin scam” in their headlines, especially here in the Philippines. Calling BTC a scam means he was just misinformed.

Google, Wikipedia and Youtube are our best friends right now. He just didn’t researched Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies by himself. I know that there’s some negative impact due to the execution of the largest Twitter hack where they’re asking for BTC deposits and ended up getting scammed.

People like Stephen Colbert should understand first about BTC’s real and positive use cases rather than getting fed up by the media and calling Bitcoin generally a scam.
2808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty hunting tips for newbie in joining bounty campaign. on: August 04, 2020, 10:56:44 AM
The glory days of 2017 are gone where bounties are really making us a living (shame on me for not knowing this hidden gem in early months of 2017, I only started sometime in November 2017). However, I strongly believe that one day bounties will become relevant and giving us decent income again.

It’s just that right now, the cryptocurrency market is now mature and DeFi industry is in great progress, which Ethereum is going close now to $400 (it even peaked to $408 before crashing down and recovered again).

When I teach newbies in joining bounty campaigns, I always made some disclaimer that we should “participate at our own risk” because nothing is guaranteed. Even if they guarantee the distribution, the token price isn’t when it’s listed on exchanges.

Maybe DeFi projects with bounty programs are going to be something that most of us are going to keep an eye on. But we should be careful also of fake DeFi projects.

I've just come across this thread and I'm sorry if this has already been asked: Why did you give elmanchez DT the same week they took out this loan with you?

2810  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Putin signed a law on the regulation of cryptocurrencies from 2021 on: August 04, 2020, 10:37:47 AM
So they’re legalizing cryptocurrencies but banned it as payment method. Okay I respect that, at least they’re not totally banning cryptocurrencies at all. I just wish that there come a time that Russia would change mind and legalizing cryptocurrencies as payment method. You can only get taxed after converting Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for fiat.

It’s a good thing rather than banning it at all. I know that other Russian crypto enthusiasts aren’t happy about the ban of cryptos as payment method. Every country has their own crypto roles. Some countries think it’s illegal, some would heavily regulate them, and some are totally crypto-friendly.

Bitcoin is still young. There come a time that other countries banning BTC would have a change of heart, but don’t expect it soon.
2811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AltcoinDaily.io Youtube channel removed on: August 04, 2020, 08:11:36 AM
This is how centralised video platforms work, in which they have the full control of it and we don't. Alternatives such as LBRY, BitTube and others are great, but it would be tough for them to compete with the almighty Youtube.

Until now, I can still see in Youtube ads about the fake ETH giveaway. It's not right, and Youtube had to do something about it. They should take time reviewing the ad being submitted rather than approving it immediately because of money.
2812  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Warning: Another ETH Based Investment Scheme on: August 03, 2020, 11:16:43 AM

Anything na opportunity na yung scheme is pyramid o turn your XX into XXX are purely ponzi scams. May mga Facebook contacts nga ako na wina-warningan sila, pero sad to say they ignored it. Edi good luck na lang sa kanila, baka afford naman nila siguru mag bayad ng P21 million o makulong. Wait na lang nila na yung mga pulis kumakatok na sa pintuan nila. Tsk.
2813  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Bakit ang NewsCrypto.io at NWC may magandang future? on: August 03, 2020, 11:10:29 AM
Kawili - wili  pero nais ko pong malaman kabayan kong saang lugar naka base yong platform nila? Tsaka meron naba silang downloadable application sa playstore? i'll to research it but i couldn't find it. Para in that way sana since naka mobile phone lang ako ask of now gusto ko rin ma try platform nila ask i check it marami nga silang features. Like staking certain amount of token in their platform to be able to particpate in aidrop, academy and etc..

Hello kabayan!

I hope this answers your question kabayan. Maraming salamat!
2814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you fear the president of your country, one day, making Crypto illegal ? on: August 03, 2020, 11:07:11 AM

What if, for example - like after that twitter hack - the President wakes up (in a bad mood) and decides with an executive order to make all crypto illegal in the USA?

Of course this probably will never happen in today's world, as the there is big money is invested into crypto currencies; but do you ever think that it is even remotely possible...

Or the next elected president is so "old school" and decides that crypto needs to go?

I don't mean only America, what about in your country; do think that a future ban on crypto currencies is ever possible in your country?

Ain’t worried with it. Here in the Philippines, we are a crypto-friendly country. Unionbank has it’s first-ever crypto ATM (I’ve seen that ATM myself in their main branch in Makati), and they’ve formed Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) where multiple cryptocurrency and blockchain firms can operate (and the Philippine president was in attendance giving the speech during the inauguration), and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) approved lots of virtual currency exchanges (VCEs) to operate in Philippine soil.

However, there are no clear laws yet regarding crypto taxes here in the Philippines. However, I think they’ve implemented regulation in launching ICOs here in the Philippines. SEC Philippines have categorized cryptocurrencies as securities. I’ve seen some physical and online shops within the National Capital Region where they accept Bitcoin as payment method in buying products and services.

For me, the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry in the Philippines is growing gradually but in a slow pace due to COVID-19 threat.
2815  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will you do when Bitcoin reach$20k? on: August 03, 2020, 10:30:03 AM
I was in the market few years ago when bitcoin almost reached $20k. I wasn't acting then (hodling for few years already) and I think a lot about when I should act next.

I wonder what other people who hodl bitcoin for few years plan to do.

Do you have a price in mind than when bitcoin will reach it, only then you plan to sell?

If it hits $20k again, I wouldn’t mind selling my gains rather than all of it. In other words, I keep my capital and sell my profits. I still have hopes that Bitcoin would reach $20k again, but we won’t know when it will happen again.

I see that DeFi projects are on a roll, and Ethereum is going up like crazy. It’s all-time high was $1,400 I think. It did flash crashed before going up again.
2816  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Straight HODL vs Trading on: August 03, 2020, 10:26:50 AM
I’m usually more on straight HODLing, especially Ethereum. Been holding my Ethereum since it was between $200-$210 because I’m so hyped with Ethereum 2.0 and DeFi. It even reached $408 before crumbled down to almost $300 and went up back again to $380+.

Same thing for the other tokens I am holding for the past 2 years like TRX, Steem, Hive, etc. As for trading though, it would be good if you’re a skilled trader. Not just by means of buying low and selling high, but analyzing the chart, patterns, candlesticks, etc.

If you want to HODL it straight, make sure that you think long-term of that coin or token you bought.
2817  Economy / Economics / Re: Philippines will drop as a Country, Economy on its worst! on: August 03, 2020, 09:55:25 AM
Remember the late Miriam Defensor-Santiago? Correct me if I’m wrong, but she had authored a “pandemic plan” if she were to be elected as Philippine president rather than president Rodrigo Duterte. It’s just sad that she passed away due to cancer.

If that were being implemented, we could have easily prepared just like in New Zealand, Taiwan, Vietnam, etc. I do agree that our economy is falling due to lockdown and other stringent measures. Now they are taxing online sellers and digital content creators to help recover government’s relief efforts.

However, we are slowly recovering (despite NCR and other nearby provinces are under lockdown for 2 weeks). If we could have prepared early as a third-world country and implemented the late Miriam Defensor-Santiago’s pandemic plan, we could have set a great example to the rest of the world that we could beat the virus once and for all.

For me, full lockdown isn’t really a great solution. If full lockdown was into effect, businesses would go down again. It’s all about balancing both economy and managing health by means of granular or localized lockdowns.
2818  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] Golda.store Plagiarized Whitepaper on: August 02, 2020, 06:43:14 PM
I've seen a few Facebook contacts of mine who are promoting the Golda airdrop with their referral links in their timeline. But I didn't mind it until I saw this scam accusation thread about Golda.

And just a heads up! I've checked the team members' LinkedIn accounts, and I had a gut feeling that the real team members are hiding their real identities and using others' LinkedIn accounts without permission.

If you take a look at Emal Safi's LinkedIn profile, he didn't state in his background that he's the CEO and founder of Golda, but rather as the Aircoins CEO. I have checked his LinkedIn posts and I don't see him actively posting anything about Golda.

https://www.linkedin.com/mwlite/in/emal-safi

And also Roy Ingbre, when I clicked the link, it redirects to Emal Safi's LinkedIn profile. So this guy has no existing LinkedIn account.

Same for Simon Vrsansky, he's currently the head of marketing at Coinmate crypto exchange and not mentioning Golda to his position or in his posts.

https://www.linkedin.com/mwlite/in/simonvrsansky

As for Sharon Collins, she's just a web designer at Sh Collins Design and not mentioning her position or any timeline posts about Golda.

https://www.linkedin.com/in/sharon-collins-755109188/

So for me, this is clearly a potential scam, not just plagiarizing whitepaper.
2819  Economy / Economics / Re: Philippines will drop as a Country, Economy on its worst! on: August 02, 2020, 05:27:32 PM
(I am a Filipino citizen)

We have the worst Government in this time of Pandemic, It's not all about the President but the Government as a whole.

what can you say about our situation for being the worst and also as the leading country on ASEAN that has a high  number of Covid Cases. It's been months already and yet, jnstead of recoveries we are getting most of it, and our economy is already falling. Or in other words, how will you react if you're one of us staying on the same country...

As your fellow kabayan, I actually agree with you man.

We've now breached 100,000 cases (103,000+ now) in the entire country. And just tonight, president Rodrigo Duterte announced that NCR (includes Metro Manila), Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite and Rizal will revert back to Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (2nd to the strictest quarantine level) until August 18th.

Our government is so incompetent, even Department of Health Sec. Francisco Duque III's controversial announcement of 38k+ recoveries in a single day. Decisions are so slippery, even our respective local government units. Instead of uniting as one, they're still divided because of different political agendas such as ABS-CBN TV network shutdown, etc.

Let's just pray to our modern day heroes (especially health workers). They're really tired now in treating new COVID-19 cases in the country. Keep safe kabayan!
2820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will You Trust a Project Announce BY A Legendary Member on: August 02, 2020, 05:05:43 PM
Will you trust a project that the one that announced it in the announcement thread is a legendary member even though the legendary has announced that he is not part of the team and was just part of the service he offered.

Let me know your thoughts here.

Rank doesn't matter here. What matters is if the project itself delivers or "overdelivers" our expectations, their public reputation, trust and legitimacy as well. There's no guarantee that all of the projects promoted by Legendary are trusted members are 100% legitimate and trusted.

Anyone can become a Legendary member once you have earned a lot of merits for being helpful and trusted by the community. No one's perfect here. Just saying.
