AS I say see what happens, I just like watching these things and seeing if I am right.. Personally I would move into BC or VTC from here (now) with a view to moving back in at a lower price with more BTC as I think those 2 are about to go boom... I've been wrong before though and I could easily be wrong again.. I just cannot see this not correcting now...
BC is a pump and dump shitcoin with zero real world value over any other shitcoin. VTC has a strong dev team and a strong community, but nothing to compete with Darkcoin.

In a rational market DRK would have been trading at its current price well over a month ago. The price is just playing a slow game of catch-up, as more people come to understand that DRK has actual utility out there in the big bad.
2802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 14, 2014, 10:05:34 PM
I think a needle may be required soon..... Not saying this is not a good coin, but its value has gone so far so fast, there must be a correction coming now....
You're saying that it is overpriced? You're wrong then. I guess this is just people buying up before the hardfork. We will see the price at the end of the week. I don't expect it go down much, if at all.

Ill be more specific then, if that 26BTC buywall goes on mint @ 79, get your parachute as its going back to 500k
26 BTC is peanuts. Nobody cares about 26 BTC either way, it'll make no difference.

Hardfork went smoothly, it's all looking just peachy.

Didn't the hardfork already happen with the exception of the darkwallet stuff pushed to the 25th? People keep saying a few hours but pretty sure the timer zeroed out a few hours ago.
DarkSend! Darkwallet is the dodgy centralised browser-plugin (that bit alone cracks me up every time) honeypot, big difference!

Just an update on the nVidia X11 mining support. The current github source code for ccMiner can do

2-2.2 MHash/s on GTX 750 Ti
4 MHash/s on GTX 780
4.6 MHash/s on GTX 780 Ti

Crypto mining blog does a decent job of testing out the new releases and providing binaries, whenever
we make interim source code only releases. http://cryptomining-blog.com/tag/ccminer/

This isn't the end of the optimizations yet, as we've got a faster Groestl implementation in store
that we are not quite ready to share with the public yet. It would lift the 750 Ti to 2.8-3 MHash/s
and the GTX 780 to 5 MHash.

So AMD might now mean "A Mining Dinosaur" for some coins, X11 included.

Christian

2 MH from a 750Ti? Time to upgrade my 270s...  Cry

edit: linux qt wallet 10.7.3 after fork no longer spending half its life trying to sync with blocks that don't exist yet.  Smiley

Almost more volume than Litecoin today.
I can understand people selling LTC, but you have to seriously question the IQ of anyone buying it.  Huh

  • Updated to support latest hardfork
  • Upgraded servers to 1Gbit multicore with masses of RAM
  • Changed DNS records, so anybody using the IP address must update

ANYBODY USING THE OLD IP ADDRESS OF 213.229.88.102 MUST UPDATE:
NEW URL: drk.p2pool.n00bsys0p.co.uk:7903 OR 92.63.139.250:7903

Happy mining!

My 13MH have rejoined the party!

Anyone UK based, this p2pool node has been great, I highly recommend it.

we can't send more than 10 coins at a time from a wallet?

anything above 10 gives me a transaction too large error, thanks in advance
This is only with Darksend enabled. Current limit for it is 10 DRK. But with Darksend disabled there should be no limit.

hmmn, im currently using version v0.9.3.3-unk-beta and I don;t have the option to enable/disable darksend.  Tried looking through the help command in debug and I dont see mention of darksend in there either.

Thanks for your help

Have you tried this?
Anyone having trouble with sending DRK and getting 'tx too large' or high fees, try sending it to another address in your own wallet first. You are probably trying to send an amount made up of hundreds of micropayments from p2pool or something, you need to consolidate the tx first.

IS there still an issue with the wallet synching to the network?
Using the latest version v0.9.3.3-unk-beta
It will synch to the network at startup but once it's been running for a while
it tries to synch with the network again and it just sits there on block 68386 of 414021
Plenty of active connections. Is it normal due to the hard fork getting ready to roll out?

I have v0.10.7.3-unk-beta and it is working just fine.
same behavior with rc2 as well. Guess it's me since I don't see any other complaints.
No other wallet exhibits this behavior. fwiw
My (linux) qt DRK wallets have always done this - they sync up to the current block fine, they just think they have to keep on going due to DRK sharing some netIDs with LTC/DOGE - which I think is getting fixed in the fork today. So it was never a real problem, and it will hopefully disappear anyway by tomorrow.

Are we still going to be able to set up masternodes once things go dark in the next 6 hours.  I'm still working on mine.
Yes! It's just that masternode payments have been delayed for a week.
2814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 14, 2014, 11:19:27 AM
Without being mean or anything, can anyone explain in plain English what exactly Mastercoin does?  It's worth a lot (~$26 a coin) but I can't get the idea behind it.  I'm wondering how it's worth so much?

I went to the website, but it doesn't make sense to me, I am too ignorant I guess?

Thank you anyone who can explain the concept behind Mastercoin.  I ask here because this is my "home" and really hate going outside this community.  I am afraid I'm agoraphobic, LOL
Looks like pie in the sky junk to me. Kind of like, Ripple or Counterparty, but even less useful. "Buy Mastercoins in order to,er... buy Bitcoins!"

To be fair this is mostly about Maidsafe, but has some Mastercoin related info, none of it encouraging: http://letstalkbitcoin.com/the-brokenness-of-maidsafe/

Not remotely a competitive threat to Darkcoin, anyway.

so are we going to sniff seven today?
Order depth on Mintpal looks like a lot of folks want to take profits between here and 0.007. But good news, I'll be eating into the sells with the mighty 0.045 BTC I made renting my rigs the other night.

What are people using to get 853,762 khash/s?
400 R9 280 Cards for example.

rent from rig rentals  Cheesy
1GH from betarigs would only cost about £300/day most days. You might just break even on DRK, but I doubt it. Be a bummer if your pool(s) went down though.

Proof or shut up.  Roll Eyes

I know people with 50 290s, 350 isn't unrealistic. Wouldn't like to foot the electricity bill though, even with X11.  Cheesy

this is the threat to crypto as a whole, but especially alts which make a big stink about the characteristics which government officials don't like. it's just prodding goliath with a stick.
David beat Goliath, remember?

You have been brainwashed. 'Government officials' can do jack shit about anything, never mind cryptocurrencies. They are all fucking OWNED by exactly the sort of people to whom DarkSend (or something very like it) is most valuable.

china clamping down on bitcoin didn't kill it, but it did hurt it's value. DRK has the same potential to piss off other organizations worldwide, we'd have to be living in a dream world to believe otherwise. weather things like DRK become triumphant or not is for the fates to decide, but to think that it's a slam dunk one way or another is delusional. there's people on both sides that will want to see this either succeed or fail.
China didn't clamp down on anything, some rumours were started so that idiots would panic and the rumourmongers could buy shitloads of BTC on the cheap. Nobody can effectively clamp down on any cryptocurrency any more than they can bittorrent.

*edit and i still haven't seen a list of the other X11 currencies, anyone care to share? I mean i assume that you're all invested in DRK for posting here, so you probably don't want anyone to mention any other alt as a potential competitor. there is no competitor to DRK, you're the only one doing everything that you're doing. stop being so melodramatic. i just want to know of other X11 coins that i might not totally miss the train on Smiley
Click this and actually read it this time:

Most of those other X11 trains are going exactly nowhere fast, but enjoy the ride.
