Need this miner gone, no real use for it anymore even though there is profit left in it for me. Wife started to use the basement and my garage is full up so I cannot mine with it anymore (sadly).
Miner runs at 3THS because of a faulty blade. The blade has long been sold so I can't provide it to you. One connector is on the miner so you can easily pop on another board.
The miner also comes with a DPS800GBA PSU. It's rated for 1000W on 220/240V and 800 on 120V but only has four PCI plugs. The plugs got hot on the blade with only one plug on it. It probably won't melt or cause horrible problems, but it's just the Achilles heel of the setup. No use for the PSU ATM so it's pretty much free with the sale of the miner.
I only accept BTC payment so don't ask about PP or altcoins, no cash either. I'll only ship this to US locations, and you will pay for shipping. Escrow required.

I would say unless you are ok with buying extremely overpriced R4 units or investing into a shed/soundproofing equipment do not home mine Bitcoin. If you have a basement it is possible to put miners there but you’ll need good ventilation.
You meant is still possible to get a new R4? No, they are pretty much all used now and out of production. The best you'll find are used and price gouged units that aren't worth it imo. Reliability is also not amazing on them and they're known to break and underperform often. |

HID? The miner should be installed as a WinUSB device IIRC (used to have an extensive USB mine). Go into Zadig/download it and flash the stick with WinUSB and it should work.

We need optimized mining software for this card. Even if you manage to mine successfully with the existing mining software, the "Tensor" cores are idling so you dont use the full potential of the silicone, wasting money. I think the "big fishes" will be interested in this card once they get hold of an optimized miners for this card.
The thing is once consumer Volta comes out we will find out if Volta is actually any good at mining. Chances are more consumer oriented cards will hash faster than this and will be cheaper. Even if “gaming” Volta cards are slower, you’ll likely be able to buy more for less money than a single Titan V. More of a toy right now than anything. |

I still don’t understand why people are still going to go back to Nicehash even after the hack. It’s not incredibly difficult to mine and tune miners in the first place and you’re paying a whole lot in fees for a little convenience. Also disappointing that there are people out there mining that hardly know what coins they are mining, much less how to even use a miner like Claymore.

It’s just a teaser from Nvidia showing what’s next up in line. I wonder how more consumer Volta cards will do on compute-perhaps Volta cards will replace Vega in XMR? Nevertheless it seems to be a novelty card more than anything else at $3000 for gamers. Might be viable for workstations.

I dislike saying things like this, but with all of the coincidentally crappy security and stars that aligned to create this huge shitshow it smells like some inside job or carefully planned theft. Of course they could've just had shitty security measures but it is plausible that this was planned.
Can't wait 'till the media catches a whiff of this and reports this as a "$60 million Crypto hack" even though the core principles of whatever crypto is blamed isn't directly responsible for it.

Server style power supplies with breakout boards can also be found at parallelminer.com. They’re a reputable seller but there have been some issues with order fulfillment recently, not sure if that’s been fixed or not. Most if not all of the PSUs are still in stock and at reasonable prices, though if you scavenge around for individual parts yourself you might save a few bucks.

Also Found Some EVGA 1600W PLatinum one, weird its cheaper than GOLD ones... do you know why? Probably just supply and demand. Platinum is generally more efficient than gold by a small bit so I'd go for it if you want a PSU like that. To connect server style PSUs to an S9 make sure you have a breakout board connected to the contacts of the PSU and wires connected to the board with 6-pin female plugs on the other end. After that either jump the breakout board with an included jumper or just plug it in/press the power button (and also plug in the 6 pin connectors!) and you should be ready to mine. Some boards have different power-on mechanisms but they are easy to turn on. |

They do have pretty high minimum withdrawal rates and they charge a lot for withdrawals in the first place. Whole lot of hassle for a possibly slightly increased payout. I've never run any of my miners on Nicehash before for that reason, and I'm pretty glad for doing so. Perhaps some of the hashing power will come to Kano  |

If you don’t specify your electrical cost we have no way of knowing. Regardless of that the S3 is a reeealy old miner and unless you’re using this as a quiet heater or something of the sort it’s really just a collectible. With no difficulty jumps you make less than $100 a year at 10 cents per kilowatt and difficulty jumps will make the unit even less profitable. |

Even being Chinese myself I would never consider buying miners in China. Like fanatic just said you're paying large premium just to get the miner and in most cases I'd rather just pay and wait. The price of btc has changed the situation somewhat but the prices of the actual miners have likely also risen in tandem with it. I understand some people pay a lot for import fees, etc but in my case I live in the US where customs, etc is not a whole lot of money.

Tbh there really isn't a big difference between these cards, they all mine at about the same speed. The Seahawks are mainly AIOs(iirc) and cards with water blocks meant for EKWB kits and not really worth mining with as EKWB kits can be pretty expensive. You might get temp differences but that's about it. Most people just pick the cheapest cards and if they happen to not run as well, returns are free most of the time. As long as you aren't mining in a stuffy room with little ventilation heat should not be an issue, especially in a open bench system.

There aren't really ripoff miners but instead people who scam with fake online stores, etc. If you physically have a miner in hand just power it on and try to get into the config page by trying to start it up. If you're buying miners from this forum, make sure to always use reputable escrowers like Philipma or Ognasty, etc. Besides gouged eBay and Amazon prices and direct from Bitmain or from forum members, there's not really many other places to buy these miners. The "resellers" are probably just scammers. Bitmain doesn't have any real official resellers afaik.

I’ve tried NiceHash with my S7 but share difficulty on there was always too high for it so Nicehash only sporadically paid for the miner. Fees are also pretty damn high there. I definitely earn more from Slush than Nicehash. We’ve had some worse luck than usual recently but that’s to be expected- we were hitting some pretty fast blocks a few days ago.

Will there be new R4s for sale?
Probably not. The R4s were plagued with issues and they likely didn’t sell as well as the T9/S9 models. Bitmain have stopped selling them for quite some time and they probably won’t be bringing anything like it back. |

Good way to kill it quickly from overheating it.
I'm amazed that has enough video RAM available to mine ETH at all (My REAL GTX 960 cards are 2GB, which isn't enough to mine ETH any more).
Some variants of the 960M can have 4GB of GDDR5. Laptop cooling is usually pretty insufficient even for just a couple hours of heavy gaming so mining will probably get temps up pretty toasty. Wouldn't suggest mining on it. |

It's essentially just a reference 1080. They perform about the same and they should work with mining like any 1080. Noise and sound on reference cards can be more than aftermarket cards but it's not a huge deal usually when it comes to mining.
