2801  Other / Meta / Re: What about Bitcointalk APP for Both Smartphone and Desktop Platform on: July 03, 2022, 05:55:35 PM
epochtalk is ready however we are waiting for bitcoin to reach 100,000$ so they can launch epochtalk on a special day.  Wink
Bitcoin at 6 figure! That will not be bad. I am waiting for Theymos to confirm it 😉

That unfortunately would not stop a bad actor from uploading a fake version to the play store, any BBT user unaware of the official link/thread could potentially fall for the scam.
I do not think so. Anyone who is old here they will obviously first make a post on Meta before even trying to login using the APP. For anyone this is a joyful moment so they will not miss it to share even before trying the APP. There are chances for lower rank users who could try it and they will become the victim but it will not take long to have it known for rest of us.
2802  Economy / Reputation / Re: Iranus - Changed hands or not? on: July 03, 2022, 05:40:29 PM
It seems the 2nd option which BitcoinGirl.Club mentioned is more appropriate for him, his writing style and knowledge about the forum is referred that he is a very old member.
But without any proof, we can't claim it, and having an alt account is not prohibited though.
The forum admin allow to have alt account for you. It's freedom of being anonymous. You have anything to say without letting others to know your main account, you have the chance. There are no problem until you intend to do anything bad. Some decide to make it known to everyone, they do not mind to name their alt but others decide to stay completely anonymous from their main account. Both are legal according to the forum culture.

Whether he is the alt of someone or not, is it ok for DT1 to add someone on their trust list if he burst some scam!!
I am not going to quickly judge it. With the current DT setting it's easy for anyone to be in the DT2. Only one positive net inclusion is enough for you. But if you want to have an opinion about it we have a discussion here.
2803  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM EXCHANGE MONITOR: BestChange on: July 03, 2022, 12:06:20 PM
you are not answering my point: there are quite a few people on the forum using Best Change regularly. What are the chances of none of them being scammed over the years if Best Change have been twisting the rating system so people can be scammed and they just cash in a commission.
I did answer your question. Okay let me try it again.
Honestly no one was scammed by Best_Change. How would they? BestChange is a site who compares exchanges and help the users to pick the best service to exchange their corns. I will not accuse Trustpilot for losing money in a site just because I saw positive ratings about the site in Trustpilot. But Trustpilot has some liabilities to be transparent to their visitors because they are successful in their industry.

The question here how BestChange are conducting business with the exchanges. Because these exchanges give them money to list their site, they are obviously biased to work for the exchanges. They need a system which favours the exchanges. Otherwise there are no point for them to have a controversial UX which shows 0 negative rating for all the sites they list.

If any site scammed anyone then it's those x,y,z exchanges. It's not BestChange but BestChange has liabilities because they made a system which favours those x,y,x systems and do not favour their visitors to get real data other than some manipulated feedback. If BestChange are in question then it's their review structure. They are not directly involved in the scam.

How are we going to confirm the user who lost his btc did not find the website x,y,z from search engine or any other ad?
They found the exchange from a random source, exchanged and it went wrong. Then the guy found BestChange advertising the exchange and he wanted to have their help to resolve the case. But when it did not then they are in the forum seeking our help. How are we going to know all of it?
2804  Economy / Reputation / Re: Iranus - Changed hands or not? on: July 03, 2022, 11:42:13 AM
I say this because of things like he registered on April 3, and on April 16 he already knew how the trust system worked, or that on April 17 he knew about the history of bpip.org which seems quite unlikely if he doesn't have another account on the forum.
It's starting. I was not entirely wrong however I said this
sooner or later someone else will do the same for you and you can be in the same problem easily.

It does not matter if all right or wrong but it's now easily questionable for Solosanz
1. Is your account changed hand?
2. Is your account an ALT who now found out a way to earn merits to rank up?

My suggestion again, if you find pleasure doing this to others then you really need to find some other interest.

The Pharmacist will encourage you to continue what you are doing but when you will be in trouble for something you never thought of, almost out of the blue, he will not spend his time to look at the case in deep other than leaving only a comment about it on the topic 🤣

Maybe a bad joke 🤪

2805  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM EXCHANGE MONITOR: BestChange on: July 03, 2022, 11:19:43 AM
But do you think if this was the case, during many years nobody would have complained on the forum until now? There are quite a few people on the forum who regularly use Best Change services.
I saw few threads against Best_Change in the past. If my memory is correct, I do not think the feedback manipulation never was in anyone's mind before. If they had the same feedback system where there are no negative were visible then it proves my argument of eyeballs on only the positive random rating numbers. I think our brain is designed not to pay attention in flat numbers.

0/20, 0/10, 0/50, 0/32, 0/87 if these are some feedback data presented on a table to quick look then you are lost on the numbers that are changing at the right but while you are lost on those numbers, you are not really paying attention on why in the left all are 0.
2806  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MicroStrategy Acquires Additional 480 Bitcoins on: July 03, 2022, 10:29:18 AM
Yeah, well, a $1B paper loss or unrealized loss.

Way back when Saylor first started buying Bitcoin, I remember someone on the forum meandering something like, "time will tell if he's a madman or a genius." This is going to depend a lot on the behavior of the Bitcoin price.
It's the price of course. If today the price of bitcoin was $100k then people would say him a genius if they call them madman now. He is not genius nor madman, he is an investor. An investor do not throw away their wealth. They have strategy and they follow it.

Unlike 99% who think they are highly skilled traders and when price is skyrocketing they make some trades with positive gains against dollar, the real investors analyze the data for longer terms.
2807  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM EXCHANGE: Openchange (Openchange.cash) on: July 03, 2022, 10:05:09 AM
Openchange.cash is asking for identity verification data. I do not see they have a registered company. If they are not legally registered then how a client will send their ID to them?

How authentic these reviews are? I feel negatives were not displayed but only the positive reviews are there.

This is interesting. Some high ranked website including bitcointalk logo but the image link is taking you to the index page.
2808  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1xbit is a scam betting site, DO NOT ENTER!! on: July 03, 2022, 09:31:55 AM
How did you know about them? I've realized that they advertise on Mycellium and if I google the name I see ads and positive reviews.
All over the internet you will see them. Even most used crypto listing services are advertising their banners. In football matches you will see them on those ground display boards. They are spending millions for advertising and not everyone really cares about what is going on in the forum. It's sad by the way.

We've almost succeeded in warning people not to play on 1XBIT and minimize the complaint
How? This thread proves that we are not. And I do not think we will too. There will be people who will always create scam accusations against them. They are spending millions to get these clients and every new scam accusation is the result of the money they spend for advertising their service.

2809  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM EXCHANGE MONITOR: BestChange on: July 03, 2022, 09:24:09 AM
@Best_Change, speaking about the reviews

I was not able to look in details when I visited the site earlier but then I noticed there are no negative (red) reviews for any exchange.
This is tricky. A part of Neuromarketing. Nothing wrong with Neuromarketing but your approach is misleading. You are giving the users a look that there are all positive about the exchanges you list.

An internet user who do not have time to look at every details for different sites, do not know how different exchange sites function in details, mostly they are your visitor. They see everything good about all the site you listed. It does not always raise in mind that why there are no negative for the sites listed, they check for the best exchange rate. They see reviews but easily miss the part of no negative review, eye balls are are always on the numbers of positive reviews. They do not see any negative for the selected exchange too because eye balls are always in the positive ones. They make the exchange.

So, even you are saying this is not the best UX but this is obviously misleading approach.

I do not think loyal visitors which you think regular apply for site like yours. In a site like this (listing sites) internet users do not spend much time. They know the site exists, visit, find the service, leave the site. Almost all the users in your site do not really need to know how the site functions entirely. They only see the first page and the data left on the table. It is important that you present your data correctly.

I am not blaming you for anything. A service always can not serve everyone as the client expects. Thing can go wrong sometimes which is absolutely fine when there is intention to make it correct. I think you really need to improve this feedback part and be real. Right now this is not a real feedback system, not from the look of it.
2810  Economy / Reputation / Re: Iranus - Changed hands or not? on: July 01, 2022, 10:05:57 PM
Then don't do it.  But please don't discourage others from doing it.  My own detective work in the past has turned up lots of sold/hacked accounts, and you've got to be aware that there's too much bullshit going on in the forum that if it weren't for those members delving into suspicious accounts, people would be getting away with everything under the sun.
I don't know what was your reasons not continuing with the detective work you used to do in the past. But I saw many users to be in trouble because of doing that. They continue, keep making angry users against them, at some point the opponents get opportunity to get their revenge. Everything creates a bad environment and users start hating each others.

You and me could disagree but I think it's better to contact someone via PM and tell them what you think. Give then time to reply you. If you think it was not satisfying then ask public opinion.

If someone has changed their posting habit and regular in gambling board with wearing a gambling signature then it make sense that they are following the signature rules and posting to fulfill their weekly posting limit. Not everyone has genuine interest to post regularly.
2811  Other / Meta / Re: [POLL] DT2 Status; how many net inclusions should it take? on: July 01, 2022, 08:52:41 PM
I disagree.  Let's be real, this is theymos' forum and he may disagree with the premise of this thread.  What he chooses to do is purely up to him, but he's been accommodating in the past.  Not long ago I made a stink about all the AWS scammers in the digital goods section, and he responded by banning those sales:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5173486.msg52093309#msg52093309
I missed that topic. Good job for letting him doing it.

What I understand, he has a list of priorities and none of us know what's in the list. Something is very important to us could be less important for him, not saying that changing the net score is something very important right now. It's working but it would be better if the score is higher. Hopefully he also see the importance like us.

I remember when I was asking to change the display name, his response was very quick in PM.
2812  Economy / Reputation / Re: Iranus - Changed hands or not? on: July 01, 2022, 08:07:44 PM
<snip>
I am not a fan of digging accounts and I really do not encourage it too. If you are correct then good job but if you are not correct then this is simply an insult for the user you are digging up. People used to do it long ago when the merit system started but they started to get bored.

If this is really something gives you pleasure then sooner or later someone else will do the same for you and you can be in the same problem easily. Before posting such thing, have you attempted to chat in PM with the user to find out yourself what happened first? They should have given you an answer. A lot of time your curiosity could be served only just by have person to person conversation.
2813  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777, Bitlucy and long story in brief on: July 01, 2022, 07:09:41 PM
And you're wrong again. I very much know who I am and I've been raised Catholic.
I doubt you. Your history does not tell that you have raised in a good family not at least when I find you are overzealous towards others. You are not helping anyone but trying to satisfy your dump brain with baseless shitposting. You did not raise well, sorry.

What is your fight here?
Trust system, some members you do not like, wanted to exploit a casino but it did not work. Which one?
2814  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM EXCHANGE MONITOR: BestChange on: July 01, 2022, 06:42:36 PM
Maybe it’s not the most obvious UX-design, but our service is over 15 years old, out of which for 13 years it has been exactly in this design and loyal users know about this feature.
Problem. People who are not your regular users, they easily misleads. Isn't it better to have an improved UX if you feel it's not enough. New visitors will have better understanding.

soon exchangers will have a very limited number of attempts to lift a claim on their own, without our interference. Please wait for this update, we are already thinking about all the details.
This is a better idea and this is how it was supposed to. I am glad that you are working on it. Looking forward to see the update.

Use bitcoin within cryptocurrency ecosystem, and don’t try to exchange it to fiat currency, then you won’t have to complaint at “AML-discrimination”.
What's wrong to send the coins back to the address it came from if the sender do not agree to AML/KYC. I personally do not see any problem since he did not convert it from crypto to fiat.
2815  Other / Meta / Re: What about Bitcointalk APP for Both Smartphone and Desktop Platform on: July 01, 2022, 06:24:25 PM
After years and years of development, the more modern version of this site's software (epochtalk) isn't even finished. At this point Bitcointalk having an app is next to impossible lol.
It's gonna take one more decade for epochtalk and then another couple decade for the APP. We are waiting 😉

I do not use the forum on phone. It's simply is not mobile friendly right now. Epochtalk will obviously solve the problem. When we will have a responsive website then I don't think an APP will be needed at all.

Bitcoin will not die, the forum will not die. Believe me. Both Bitcoin and Bitcointalk forum are legendary assets and have very loyal communities behind.
Bitcoin will not die for sure. The forum is a centralized database and it only depends on the admin what they will decide. But shutting down the forum is very unlikely. After all this is a historical community and we are (including the people even joining right now) living legends.
2816  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Strong Hands Are Buying on: July 01, 2022, 04:12:29 PM
Well, that's not surprising. Good deals are made by buying cheap, and now is a time when Bitcoin is cheap. We can't know i the next few months it could go lower, I wouldn't rule it out, but we are definitely in a clear buy zone if you plan to hold bitcoin for the long term. Uninformed retail investors usually do the opposite: they bought above $60-69k and sold recently.
Over 72% off. Christmas is early this year. Why wouldn't a county who made it legal not going to buy. Of-course they will. If price drops more we will see they are buying even more. MicroStrategy and other big boys will do the same.

Question remains, as individual are we taking the opportunity and buying on sale? 😉
2817  Economy / Speculation / Re: Anyone bought Bitcoin/altcoins already? on: July 01, 2022, 03:56:46 PM
You obviously don't know what the OP does on the forum, i.e. that he claims that he can influence the price with his posts and that he always asks for donations for that. Let's say something like this -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5396744.msg60008904#msg60008904
OP has a telegram group where he ask or show people how to invest in crypto. Perhaps he is knowledgeable or just like other hit and miss type influencers who sell their service to make a living instead of doing what they show people to do. It's ironic though and people buy the shits. These days we do not see many of them but back in 2017-2018 there were many who were the reason for all those pump and dump ICOs. Regular people lost a lot for them.
I always find it better to stay away from them.
2818  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anonimizing your bitcoin on: July 01, 2022, 03:46:47 PM
What percentage does it take in fees though? The issue I've had with either coinjoins or mixers cant remember which is the fees are high.
Coinjoin fee like in Wasabi wallet is around 0.003% and it depends on the anonymity you set and Wasabi Coinjoin has a different level sample you set it to 50 which is the highest anonymity/privacy 0.003x50=0.15% plus the transaction fee.
I have used Wasabi a year or two ago. That time the minimum to coinjoin was 0.1 BTC but the BTC price was around $10k. I have not checked the recent minimum yet but since the price of BTC spiked a lot (although it's bear market now comparing to the price it had), I assume the minimum will be less.
2819  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's price based on Yearly MAs on: June 30, 2022, 06:00:50 PM
Not a good fan of TA, it all BS to me however it seems you have put some thoughts in it. It definitely took a lot of time for you therefor the merit.

I find it hard to believe the majority would of never sold any BTC. The minority who never sold any satoshis probably won't feel so inclined to do so after hodling for so many years, if they are still stacking sats that is, even if this is just theoretical.
It's not practical when the price went from 0 to $68k and you did not sell any when you had 1000 BTC. There are whales who sold some so that they can buy back again if they did not sell all. If I would be one of them then I would at least sell a good percent of my portfolio.
2820  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MicroStrategy Acquires Additional 480 Bitcoins on: June 30, 2022, 05:16:11 PM
If you believe in Bitcoin, let's dollar cost averaging if it has 30% to 40% corrections. From all time high till today, we witness a more than 70% correction. It is a good entry range to buy Bitcoin. Price can fall more but don't call lower price which will be continued by lower prices.
Problem with us average people that we do not have cash-flow all the time. When you spend money then you need to wait for the next paycheck or make a profit from your existing business to invest in bitcoin. It's better not to go all-in even if the price drops to $14k. Have the cash available, if it drops more and you can accumulate from that insane dropped price. In the mean time sell anything that is not necessary for you to live. Have cash 😉

It all sounds crazy but this is the mood I am in now 😂

Man, if ever bitcoin hits back to that price per bitcoin then boom they could just double their assets and be mega holder institution in the crypto space.
I told before that some of us are lucky. We did not have to wait to be in Bitcoin and the price was over $25k
