Dondon Hontiveros to join Phoenix as assistant coach next monthDONDON Hontiveros will be joining Phoenix Super LPG next month in his capacity as assistant coach of the squad.
Hontiveros confirmed that he is now part of the coaching staff of Topex Robinson and is set to come to Manila to take on the new role.
“I will be joining them March 8 once I get all the necessary documents for my travel,” said the 43-year-old Hontiveros, who is currently in Cebu.
Hontiveros will now be taking on a coaching role in the big leagues for the very first time after 20 years as a player in different leagues.
This is a great news and good for Manuel as they know each other back in Alaska days, the time when Alaska was a strong team. I'm happy to see a cebuano native to be coaching in the PBA, this is a good opportunity for him and let's see if he has a talent of being a asst. coach. That's awesome, Knowing the Cebuano hotshot he may bring good guidance for M. Wright since they've got some similarities. In terms of game style. Way back Hontiveros play both for SMB and Alaska with high IQ both inside and outside, also part of the National team, for sure his experienced adds up, sharing knowledge with the entire Phoenix squad. Just need to jive things up and allow him to express his knowledge for the best interest of the team. Wright is the best player of the Phoenix but he can improve if he will mature more in the court, as an assistant coach, that's a good start for Dondon Hontiveros career in the PBA and these 2 coaches are just new in head coaching and assistant coaching as the veteran Alas has been fired or remove from the team. I'm more excited how the team will improve their 3 point shooting as that is Dondon's specialty. |

I remember the performance of Don Trollano, he was part of the big success of the TNT, I think his last season was when Jones has become an import of the TNT, I don't understand why TNT is shipping a defensive player, they should have keep them.
He's adding numbers and he really playing big before the trade happened, I guess if TnT didn't trade him up the chance of getting that season is really high, He have a good chemmistry with Jones and he's performing very well, but the decision still coming from the upper hands and sending him away still a big question. He's career now is already doomed with the blackwater, he'll be forgotten along the way either he retire earlier or injury will sit him down and exit from this league. I hope he will be taken out from BlackWater, this team does not have a good future, I'm happy that Mac Belo a good talent was sent to the Bolts, hopefully Trollano will also find a team that has a chance to be in the playoffs and a championship contender. There's no other teams that I can think of, it's only SMB, BGSM, Meralco and TNT. This is unfortunately what ends up killing the drive of many fighters, the media hypes them and then they think they are in fact as big as the hype only to find out later they were not, it was obvious Fury was the best out of the two when it came to technique and pure boxing ability, he is taller, heavier, has a longer reach and a long list of qualities that he had above Wilder, the only thing that Wilder had over him was his incredible punching power, but Fury very rapidly figured out that Wilder needs a lot of space to generate that power so he was over him all the fight, tired him out and then destroyed him.
It is not just the media that is hyping up the fighters, the fans of those fighters that are borderline psychotic are some of the reasons that the fighter might get some delusions of grandeur to the point that he/she thinks that he/she can defeat anyone. Rabid fanbase is the worst thing a celebrity can have because it indirectly affects you psychologically. I think that Wilder can still do some good fights but if he thinks that this fight with Fury is a career ending then it will probably come true.I believe on this, he should not stop fighting because he only loss once and he is still popular in heavyweight division. The best upcoming fight is the battle between champs which is Fury vs Joshua, but in case Joshua will win, he might be given a chance to fight Joshua and I think he has a chance to beat Joshua and their they are in equal standing as one boxer beats the other. I like to see that scenario to happen, but it seems it's unlikely to happen due to Wilder's behavior. |

Honestly Clippers are getting a lot of points from the odds makers so I think there is more to this game than we know. At first glance I'd say the nets should at least play this tight, they are playing really good right now. Even with Durant out if kyrie and harden are playing I dont see why they should be getting 6.5 points. In my eyes maybe 2.5 but now watch the clips win by 20 lol. I was not able to reply right away but I put my money on the Nets and I won. I'm glad that I'm on the other side and this game was really close, so even if Clippers won that game, I'm sure Nets will cover, it's just bad that I don't put a bet on ML, that would have been huge. |

The Kareem record will definitely be tough to catch. I’d love to see LeBron finish with 40K points and 10K rebounds and assists though. I think that would be a feat never to be broken again. Even if someone was good enough, the ability to avoid injury for so long is amazing.
Yeah, it'd be a great milestone for him, but 40k points look unreachable. Anyway, I guess James will easily pass Malone's record next season, considering that he scores an average of 25,9 points per game, but he needs more than 130 games with the same stats to break Kareem's record. I hope James will be able to do it before his contract ends. I'm not worried if his contract will end because he will eventually get renewed as long as he is healthy and he still wants to play. James still looks like he is on his prime, his maturity in the floor is very evident, so 2 or 3 more seasons from now, I've no doubt that he will surpass that record. He's 1991 points away to beat up Malone and 3,370 points for him to beat up Kareem and would be the top 1 in rank but this one will be possible indeed on 3-4 seasons on achieving this record. He's getting old but his gameplays never fail to impress us in spite of maturity and as long he can able to protect himself on possible injury then he might able to reach out the peak. Doesnt matter on how many season it takes yet im not seeing for him to retire too early and for sure he is trying to break out that record. Lebron is just 36 years old while our oldest active NBA player is 40 years old which is Udonis Haslem, they maybe are in different status but if Lebron stays healthy at 40, I guess he can still average a double digit per game, and knowing how Lebron is taking care of his body, there's no doubt he is still fit at that time. |
