Haha, and months ago when I tried telling someone that Google is still not taking the advertisement check seriously before they let advertisers publish an ad, I was met with "they actually do!". They don't do shit.

Guess we have to get used to these. Looks as if Google wants to intentionally let crypto scams live on the web's first sight. Remember when Twitter was absolutely entirely spammed with crypto scams? Why did it take so long for them to take action? Cheesy

I sometimes get fake exchange domains when I look up one (e.g. I get ".com" instead of ".org").. but yeah, sometimes adblocking saves a lot of your time.

Tip for newcomers: always check multiple times through OFFICIAL websites whether what you're downloading is a legit source or not. Even if you have adblock - that doesn't make all scams vanish away. Better check 5 times and be safe than be lazy and have your data and money stolen.

"Why pay taxes when they can just print money?"
One of my favorites.

The idea wasn't whether not paying taxes is or isn't legal. What I meant is that control isn't progress when it comes to cryptocurrencies. It's regress, in fact. Agree with me or not, we're going to be under control for any shit they want while there are corporations out there making billions and benefitting from tax relief of some sort.

India will probably have a big advantage: the fact that there's a lot of poverty and the salaries are very small. Hence, probably a lot of people with access to technology will start earning BTC. However, I maintain my point above.

I'm probably one out of the pretty small percentage that still is completely against control. That doesn't mean I'm a criminal, don't mistake anti-control for criminality.
2804  Economy / Economics / Re: Will India be more progressive in the coming years? on: March 23, 2020, 04:40:53 AM
Honestly? Not much.

We have pretty significant adoption of the cryptocurrencies all over the world right now and not much has changed imo. Oh, yeah, almost forgot - the only thing that changed is the fact that we have less freedom in the crypto world. You are now obligated to file tax reports, you can legally have your money stolen thanks to KYC laws or Binance may ask you to promise you'll never use BTC mixer services in order to get access to your own money. Where is the progress?

I'm not against BTC or progression. I honestly wish I'm wrong. But to me it looks more like regression. We're heading toward an era of control and it doesn't look like cryptocurrencies will be favored.
2805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When is altcoin season??? on: March 22, 2020, 11:07:02 PM
It all depends on the price of Bitcoin. If the price of Bitcoin is in the region of $ 20,000, then we should definitely wait for the Altcoin season. so far I do not see such a high price for the first coin.
Most have learned their lesson so now they follow the BTC moves at the same time because they expect the alt season you're talking about. If you take a look over the price changes on the top 100 coins, you'll notice +90% of them have the same pattern as BTC (excluding stablecoins, of course).

This makes me think the next alt season will start together with the Bitcoin one. Now there are obvious reasons a coin may pump or dump completely non-dependent of BTC (example: partnerships, new updates etc) but put this aside and you'll have the same trend as BTC.

Moreover, if you don't get to take in the profits from your alts at the right time, you will most likely lose more than if you had held your funds in Bitcoin.

I must learn to stop mentioning BTC every 2 words I write

thank you very much for all your informations. It's really nice to help  me
my computer is too old for mining but i will see other things you tell me
~
You're very welcome.

Although I've been a Bitcoin user since 2013, I have never truly tried mining because the cost of electricity wouldn't have compensated with the BTC earnings. If you are planning to start mining, I'd advise you to do a lot of research beforehand - you don't want to pay more for the electricity & mining rigs than you'd earn from the actual mining itself Cheesy

have a nice day Smiley
You too!
2807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When is altcoin season??? on: March 22, 2020, 06:20:51 PM
I'd rather ask myself when the upcoming recession, depression or whatever this fucking thing we've entered is, is going to end. When this ends, alts will maybe boom. Or maybe this is the ultimate test for cryptocurrencies and it's gonna end with a fail. Who the fuck knows. We've entered a very unpredictable year.

I wouldn't hope for an altcoin season for the following 1 year at least. Blood's gonna be on the streets, literally.
2808  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: :) ======= french lady beginner====== :) on: March 22, 2020, 05:24:06 PM
Hi there and welcome to our community!

Don't beg for BTC or any other form of money - that is not accepted here. Work for it or buy it. But don't beg.

If you're a beginner, I guess you don't know much about BTC. If so, then this forum is in my opinion the best way to start off - you'll gain a lot of knowledge and any question you have will be answered by other members of the forum. Because you don't speak English very well, you can start posting in the French board (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=13.0). You'll find other French-speaking members over there and I'm sure they'd be pleased to welcome you.

Now I see that you already have a Bitcoin address. Hence, you probably already know the very basic stuff about it. Check out the Bitcoin website (https://bitcoin.org/fr/) in French where you can also find a lot of information about the King of cryptocurrencies.

If you want to start earning some BTC, there are a lot of ways you can do so. I'll leave here a little list that may be useful for you:
  • Do you have a talent or some stuff to sell? Check out the Marketplace and let the other members know what you got for us! There are quite a lot of reputable members out here earning BTC as a hobby. You can be one of them! Smiley
  • Start mining some Bitcoins
  • Earn some BTC through Bitcoin Faucets - they pay very little amounts, but there are numerous people using them every day!
  • Start trading and/or gambling. I would personally advise not to start trading unless you're a professional trader. Gambling is very risky, but if you're a fiat casino addict and really want to continue gambling, maybe you'll have some luck with the BTC casinos.
  • Build your own website, app, exchange etc if you're interested in doing real business with BTC. Do some real work for our community and help the BTC development!
  • etc...

If I missed anything important or easier ways to earn some satoshis, please someone add more stuff to my list! Cheesy

There's a lot you can learn and do with BTC. In time, you'll gather enough experience and knowledge. Welcome, again, to our community. Best of luck! Smiley
2809  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: bitcoin url shortener 2020 on: March 22, 2020, 03:03:53 PM
Back in 2013 I had a website with CoinURL BTC-paying shorteners and A-Ads advertisements. CoinURL pretty much scammed me (they had a withdrawal limit, I withdrew once I hit that limit and they never sent the money neither did they reply to my e-mails), while A-Ads is still running over there but I'm only getting a few satoshis a day now because I haven't updated the website in years so it's pretty much dead.

One thing I noticed is that my website's shortened links got significantly less clicks than those non-shortened. It's most likely for the same reason BrewMaster said a reply above: you never know where you're going to be redirected and it could be a fake website or a phishing trap. I haven't used it for such reasons, but many surely did.

Therefore, my advice is:
  1. Make sure you do a background check of the services you're going to use for link shortening or for advertisements because you don't want to work in vain
  2. Remember that hiding your links means less traffic
2810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digital Yuan as a possible Cyber Weapon on: March 22, 2020, 10:36:14 AM
All digital national currencies will be control weapons whether you like it or not. I don't have much more trust in my or USA's government than I have in China's. We're all pushing ourselves into control every day.

European, Chinese and US banks are all working on a digital currency AFAIK. Things will change as soon as they'll release their digital versions of their currencies and you'll have no chance to escape their trap.

I don't know whether to think of the Digital Yuan as a cyber weapon against the US. All digital currencies will be cyber weapons against the entire humanity, so what's the point?
2811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Italy is using blockchain to fight on: March 21, 2020, 05:21:21 PM
See I'm not in support of any donation right now because there is not 100 percent guarantee that this donation is going to be used for fighting Coronavirus, it might be another trick by crypto scammers
Have you heard of the Red Cross? If they start a fundraiser and the legit Red Cross is behind it, the chances of a scam are very close to 0.

Blockchain donation campaign sounds good, but imho it only sounds good when the times are good as well. But the headache crypto donations bring may not be worth it, especially because the donations paid in crypto will always be lower than those in fiat. The entire world is using fiat while we only have a few hundred thousand (the number may be even lower) crypto users.

Unless there's a Bitcoin millionaire out there who wants to spend their BTC on a charity, although I doubt it.

Compare this with sending gold for free to the Red Cross as a donation. Maybe in good times you would, but would you do that now rather than sending an SMS/bank transfer donation?

This is the official livestream of the "Hospital Construction" in Wuhan. I kept it bookmarked until today and I always keep an eye on it.

Wuhan looks like a ghost city. I don't see much of a movement in there anytime I look. Bookmark it and check the other livestreams from Wuhan (they're on the same webpage), you'll find out traffic in there is now like one of a 10k population city. It was the same a week ago, so was it 2 or 3 weeks ago. No change, I see no "recovery".

I always take the mainstream media news with a pinch of salt and do some research to make sure what I'm reading is legit and right. China has been known for hiding numbers and not only in this pandemic. They're trying to keep a good image of their country in front of the world so they could be praised.

I wish they had solved the pandemic there but it just doesn't look like it. If life slowly returned to normal, they would've had at least one more new confirmed case consider Wuhan has a population of +11M. I'm not a doctor or an expert but things just don't add up in my brain and I believe I'm not the only crazy one to notice it.
2813  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian Central Bank Admits It Can’t Ban Bitcoin on: March 21, 2020, 02:41:22 PM
OP, yeah, they will not admit it. If you can't ban it, can't stop it, can't beat it, what would you do? JOIN IT.

In 15 years we will see, state-run Bitcoin mining subsidized by governments, and Bitcoin as a world reserve currency.
If we ever get to the point where a decentralized cryptocurrency becomes accepted by a state, it's a victory for the humanity. No way any state will spend that much money on mining equipment just to take control over BTC. Moreover, changing stuff from the past and starting to take control over the network is gonna be a pain in the arse for them.

It's much easier to consider anyone who uses BTC a terrorist or a criminal. Let's not forget the words coming from New York back a few years ago: only criminals want to be anonymous. It's as easy to manipulate everyone to believe these words as it was to wash their minds and make them perceive BTC and cryptocurrencies as an assed used mainly in illegal activities.

Banning helps them do a 3-in-1: a ban won't let us use BTC anymore, the value will probably significantly decrease hence our wallets will decrease too and it's gonna be much easier to catch the ones not agreeing with the current economic system. All by spending $0 on resources.

The only positive news is that China is slowly recovering, but their economy will also need a few months to return to its former state, which will again depend on other markets, because if there is no demand, production only creates supplies that by themselves mean nothing if stored in warehouses.
Do you really believe that China is undergoing a recovery and everything is fine over there right now? Because I don't. The fact that they hid numbers makes me very skeptic about just anything they say. It's probably just pretending that everything is fine.

The world will need years if not decades to return to what it was only 3 months ago. As gentlemand said about a dozen replies above, this is just the beginning. Probably the complete meltdown of the markets is next, followed by the obvious scarcity of food and supplies. The economy being completely frozen in many large and significant (when it comes to food production) countries will make things work very differently now. Everything's changed.
2815  Economy / Services / Re: I will add 1000s of laser targeted members to your TELEGRAM Group on: March 21, 2020, 01:18:24 PM
This will most likely require regularly paying in order to keep the same number of members (or to show a false growth) in your group. As probably only 10-20% of the people will stay, you'll have to pay every now and then for 1k more members. If approximately 20% out of 1k stays, that's $250 for a thousand staying members. But even out of these, a lot may leave in time.

The same goes for Instagram. If you want to falsely grow an Instagram account, you'll have to regularly pay for it or it won't work.

But the little calculus above is imo the best scenario. If your invited members are completely uninterested and unrelated to your group, expect under 10% of them to remain. Big loss for a shit ton of money. Smiley
2816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advice to everyone today on: March 21, 2020, 01:02:39 PM
I cannot recall that this happened in 2008, not good for banks of course, but I would love to have the article or link for this if there is any? Well, crypto is basically the future of financial freedom but that is only for us who believes in it so how we can achieve the goal that most people will use it, I hope you got something for us.
Then you must be young. The 2008 financial crisis has been probably felt by everyone except those who've had no debt and harvested their own food. Even the billionaires felt it.

Remember the financial crisis in 2008 when banks stopped customers from withdrawing funds? Then drip feeding tiny amounts to customers via ATMs. This is going to happen again, this time it will be worse.

Take your financial freedom in your own hands, Buy crypto today
Agreed. But what if crypto goes down another -70%? You would've wished you had kept fiat instead of crypto.

Unfortunately, it's very risky right now to make moves in the market. You have to make moves very fast or you risk hitting the bottom considering the worldwide economy's current volatility.

One thing you can do is keep your money in a decentralized stablecoin and then switch to BTC or alts in an instant when the time to make this move comes. But what if you need fiat urgently to pay something, to buy something for your family during the crisis? The decentralized stablecoin will be of no help..
2817  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cryptocurrency price is coming back. on: March 21, 2020, 10:56:41 AM
haha, it is whale accumulation now that panic sell is over and price recovery is starting to show its face.
~
Do you think so? Because to me it looks like the stocks are showing a false recovery together with commodities and crypto. I never liked fast price bumps after a pretty long bearish timeframe. Whenever I bought during these quick bumps, it turned into a quick loss. Smiley
2818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hodl altcoins or..? on: March 19, 2020, 08:19:20 PM
No time will ever be the best time only buy when the market is moving up and do not forget to sell while the market is still up stya safe.
That's the wrong move, buddy.. you buy when the market is moving down and you sell when the market is moving up. Otherwise, chances are you'll sell when it's too late. Cheesy

To answer OP, I'm personally holding all I have and trying my best to accumulate more. I'm just out of cash completely so I have no more money to buy through the bearish markets.
2819  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do we classify full time bounty/signature hunters as? on: March 19, 2020, 05:32:54 PM
Probably both. Promoting services and websites through freelancing. Are there people who really live off signature campaigns though?! Would be pretty understandable for a ChipMixer campaign member, but the rest are offering pretty low rates for a living... Moreover, I've had many periods of time in which I've had no signature campaign to join. What do you do in that case? Smiley

Don't you think it's pretty weird and sketchy that all countries are making the same mistake, considering there have been numerous pandemic preparedness events in the past few years? Take a look over a little list of some of the pandemic preparedness the US has had in the recent years:
... and the list can continue. They all have the needed experts and scientists to take the needed steps and measures at the right time. The pandemic could've been prevented if they wanted to. If we, the citizens see there is a problem, I doubt the officials don't.

Regarding the vaccine, IIRC, Bill Gates said in a documentary (from the Explain series on Netflix) that obtaining a vaccine and giving it to the population in 10-12 months would be a world record. Hence, I don't have much of a hope that it's going to happen.
