Blockchain.info tweeted about it earlier. Looks like the TX was spoofed / fake.

I really doubt they got a cold wallet. they can't even handle the normal wallet. never experienced so much incompetence from an exchange

You're right.  I don't think they've got a cold wallet anywhere either.  None of the top 10 wallets in the richlist belongs to them as far as I can tell. So it really seems strange to me that the sell orders haven't moved one bit since yesterday (~300 million qora), yet their qora reserve has already been reduced by another 40 ~ 50 million qora.

At this point, I don't believe they'll have enough qora to cover all the future withdrawal (unless someone else makes another huge deposit).  Embarrassed So things are getting very interesting now - as the hot wallet gets closer and closer to being empty, I wonder whether the last person will be able to cash out and withdraw? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

One reason I got very suspicious of BTER is that, after the recent hack, they decided to drastically reduce/restrict the amount of altcoins you can withdraw at one time (for instance, nodecoin has a daily limit of 500,000 - a nearly ridiculous amount).  Why would they do that if all of the Alt-coins were unaffected by the recent hack aside from Bitcoin?  Huh

They claimed only bitcoin was compromised during the recent heist, and I was not sure whether they were telling the truth.  Okay, let's wait and see.  Smiley

Other communities came to the same conclusion. Bter is as shady as possible. I wouldn't use them.
2823  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How would you introduce Bitcoin to your friends and family? on: August 05, 2015, 06:45:12 AM
I use bittorrent as an example to show them how it's decentralized. Most of my friends know about bitcoin by now though Smiley

So they bid every two weeks on new controllers? Does that mean they're hard forking every 2 weeks?

Paytards are still buying XPY though, because hey, it's really cheap at the moment!

And remember : you can't lose if you don't sell. Unbelievable there are still people buying this garbage

Guys,

Just want to bring this to your attention:

BTER's qora hot wallet address QXNz5kBknsgNYtRKit4jCDNVm7YYoXLZdB currently shows it only holds less than 4% of qora supply (3.77% to be exact or close to 380 million qora).  If you still have qora on the exchange, I'd highly advise you withdraw your qora now because a quick look at the sell orders reveals that the total amount of sell bids account for almost 300 million qora.

I've been monitoring BTER's address for a while now, and I always wonder whether BTER even has enough qora in reserve to cover all the deposits currently in their account (there were instances when I noticed their qora account actually had way less qora than what was listed on the sell page, and the account wasn't replenished by any cold wallet with large qora reserve right away either).

Of course I may be wrong about this as BTER might have a cold wallet or two that I don't know of, so just consider this a warning and a friendly reminder.

Bter doesn't always send deposited Qora to their cold wallet. I made a deposit and it sat in the address I sent it to for over a month. When I withdrew my Qora the coins were sent from the same address I deposited into. Although it wasn't a massive amount of coins Bter might not send everyone's deposits to their cold wallet so it doesn't necessarily have to contain enough Qora to match all the sell orders.

I really doubt they got a cold wallet. they can't even handle the normal wallet. never experienced so much incompetence from an exchange

you can now test the very alpha (first) graphene interface. Looks pretty good in my opinion!

Censorship is never a good idea. Shows how they deal with concerns, does that make them trustworthy?

Here we go again: http://fastminer.net/

EDIT: Just to be clear - AVOID THIS!

And the program they want you to download is a trojan...

of course it is. that's some next level scam, get money & extra control over your victim. however, I think it's easier to spot a fraud this way.

I'm here to understand how can I avoid that.

Stop shilling for something that doesn't even exist anymore. This will not improve your chances of recovering any of your loses.

he's just trolling us. there's no way someone would be so stupid and shill for a dead coin... on the other hand, hashtards are of a special breed.
2832  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Good websites to Invest My Bitcoins? on: August 04, 2015, 05:23:00 AM
i think the best site to invest your bitcoins is bit-x to their cloud mining services they seem to be reputable as a lot of users use their exchanging and signature services

maybe I missed the note, but are there images & videos of their mining farm? I'd like to see some proof.
2833  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Site Advertising on: August 04, 2015, 05:21:32 AM
I use:

coinads (raw clicks)

a-ads.com (banner)
bitmedia.io (banner)

some say coinurl is good too... I'm not a fan of them though.

hope that helped

The transcripts are a boon for me as I never had time to sit and listen to the whole thing.

Yep, really appreciate the extra work for transcripts. I like to listen, but time is always a factor Smiley
2836  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CloudThink.IO removed management pictures after being caught with stealing on: August 03, 2015, 08:08:56 AM
Do you know what the biggest giveaway is that they are not even a British-run scam operation?

Buy it now for $2.299

In the UK a comma is used to denote the thousands in a number, not a decimal point.

I doubt they're British or us. It's a very organized crime, so they know how to hide their tracks.
2837  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cloud Mining - Please help a newbie on: August 03, 2015, 05:32:58 AM
-snip-
PB mining also had hash power that they were selling on eBay.
 -snip-

Sorry? Well, as far as I know, they were not mining. Can you backup your statement with some proof?

Pbmining was just a void ponzi. They never had mining hardware or sold some on eBay...

What does the future hold for XPY, in your opinions?

Look at the graph. Future says worthless and useless altcoin. Doubt that will change. Cheesy
2839  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How could you find Investors/Funders for gambling website? on: August 02, 2015, 02:59:45 PM
i recommend NXT asset exchange where you can easily create a own asset for 1000 NXT. Then everyone who want to can buy shares of this asset with NXT and BTC.

yeah, NXT is pretty advanced for this case. I like how easy it is to issues dividends and organize it.
