Would you agree or not? Bitcoin Only Needs Two YearsHmmmm... I respect the guy yeah.. But I do not know where his information came from. 2 years might be a little bold.. Maybe give it 3-5 years. I am still having doubt about that. What do you think? 2 years and then what? 2 years to announce it'll take another 2 years for Bitcoin to reach mass effect! ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bit-keys.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2014%2F08%2FMass-Effect-2-Digital-Delux-Edition_1264724328-00.jpg&t=664&c=s4ioBe6yYKQ3BQ) That's when Commander Sheppard is able to use Bitcoin to buy beer at the Citadel bar.

The wise magic 8 ball has spoken. Interpret that answer as you must (chucks magic 8 ball down the street). Me personally, I'm HODLING till we don't have to HODL no more...

It's been a day and I have received no free coins.
Is this the type of person we need in our 'community'? Promising free coins and then not following through.
Me thinks Calme was bluffing, not a man of his word. OH well, if he did try to leave his private keys and wallet and I got my hands on it, I surely would've put a little stocking stuffer increasing the value of the 10 BTC wallet to show how good this community could be. Too late though! Deals off now...

Your link isn't up to date, the loss wasn't $387mill but merely $8.1mill. Here's the most up to date news article about the Mycoin theft: http://www.coindesk.com/mycoin-hong-kong-police-8-1-million/Small potatoes when you're dealing with "Ponzi Schemes". It sucks, and the HK authority should go after those crooks. That said those investors didn't do their due diligence and left their investment at an unsupervised, shady, and unregulated exchange hoping to get rich. Not their fault, but I guess they didn't listen or pay attention to what happened to Gox and Stamp. So although $8mill might seem like alot, compared to Gox which was $450mill, and to Bernie Madoff who "made off", pun intended, with $18 Billion...it's not a whole lot comparatively.

In short, Bill Gates says "Bitcoin isn't quite ready for primetime", which in all honesty, is for the most part true.
There's still alot of development, investment, integration, and implementation to where we can finally use Bitcoin in the sense that Bill would use in this interviews example, in impoverished nations where the unbanked would transact in BTC via mobile phones.

It's quite fine, I think.
Coinbase is really really really good at what they do. Provide a service where one can buy Bitcoin instantly using their bank or credit card.
Changetip deals with tips for content creation, as well as, fundraising with small amounts very very well.
Coinbase not cannabalizing Changetip is a good thing in the Bitcoin startup space, instead of competing, they can potentially partner off one another one day.

If you kill yourself because you saw your daughter in porn, then you are being disrespectful to her and to yourself.
What if you're caught mid-stroke, the pornstar turns around, and it's your daughter's face... Do you just chop your dick off right then and there?! ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2F33.media.tumblr.com%2F171b079d444661d3be0a1339d30b656e%2Ftumblr_ncdn6v1y7i1spetlmo1_400.gif&t=664&c=ap13Vs4VyjzvBw) ....Getting back on topic (off topic?), Bitcoin going to have some growing pains, and anyone that's a believer should be in it the long haul. Accept That Bitcoin Is A Currency And Stop Blaming The Victims of CrimeIn Hong Kong the Bitcoin “investment scheme” MyCoin has reportedly disappeared, along with over $350 million. The Hong Kong government’s response was to issue a warning about Bitcoin and digital currencies in general. That probably doesn't raise many eyebrows; we have all become accustomed to that response, but replace “Bitcoin” with almost anything else of value that could be stolen and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA)'s reaction would be outrageous. There is no talk about investigating or attempting to prosecute the crime, just a warning. The attitude that comes across is “What do you expect if you own a virtual currency?” Replace those last two words with gold or U.S. dollars, or almost anything else for that matter, and the statement becomes an insult. http://www.nasdaq.com/article/accept-that-bitcoin-is-a-currency-and-stop-blaming-the-victims-of-crime-cm442726 $350 million yeh its near enough to $8.1 mil http://www.coindesk.com/mycoin-hong-kong-police-8-1-million/there hasn't been a ban for a long time ban number 826 coming up Mt. Gox and BitStamp laugh at your $8.1 mill loss! ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) At least BitStamp had the Slovenian balls to continue operating after their hack. $8mill is Peanuts in the grand scheme of things (and hacks/losses) when it comes to exchanges. If anything it'll push customers towards either decentralized exchanges, or hyper regulated exchanges like the upcoming Gemini. Growth! Sometimes you gotta crack a few eggs to make an omelette. The fact(?) that only 8$ millions were lost for sure will attract new investors! Much growth! BULLISH AS FUCK! (Fuck the stupid victims btw...) Hard to believe that you are serious, but i don´t have many doubts after what i have already seen on this board in the last 1-2 years- Yes I'm serious. Peanuts, man. Compare it to Mt. Gox's lost coins and it's a drop in the bucket. I know your sole reason is to troll the forums to get a rise out Bulltards and try to sway some noobs, but your modus operandi is so dam played out. I am resting my case here. If you really think that events like these will produce growth (for BTC/USD(CNY)) then i have nothing left to say. You win Thanks, I win! YIPPEEEE! ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) That said, even if China/Hong Kong/1 or 2 lawmakers bans Bitcoin for the 334556 time, doesn't matter. I've been crying lava since I realized I missed the 1K bubble and could have been an overnight millonaire. I still have hopes Bitcoin reaches 10K in 10 years so I dont have to kill myself.
Please don't make Bitcoin the sole reason of living man, not worth it. I, too, missed the 2013 ATH, but make a claim that Bitcoin has to reach X number or you'll off yourself is pretty twisted, and hopefully you're saying it in jest. Now, say you had an only daughter, the apple of your eye, and she became the town whore then later the biggest pornstar in the world, then one night you accidently watched said porn....you probably have every right in the world to kill yourself. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2F24.media.tumblr.com%2Ftumblr_lkwn39yE8Y1qbmxomo1_400.gif&t=664&c=FNUvM2szC9sDnA)

historically the Bitcoin Foundation had scum city at the very top man....
-Charlie Shrem, also founding member of the Bitcoin Foundation. BitInstant founder and Money launderer. Funded Silk Road
I don't disagree with part of your premise. But one must make a distinction between what is legal and ethical. I see absolutely nothing wrong with money laundering for the silk road ethically. I personally wouldn't do this because the inherent risks.... but praise those that facilitate in protecting the privacy and anonymity of peaceful adults trading in a consensual manner. It would be far more accurate to castigate every tax paying citizen for all the human rights abuses and murders that have been paid for in their name and with their financial support. I applaud you trying to stick up for Shrem, him being a "pioneer" of sorts in this early days Wild West of Bitcoin history, but even he admits he was wrong... http://insidebitcoins.com/news/former-bitcoin-entrepreneur-shrem-i-knew-what-i-did-here-was-wrong/24107“I knew what I did here was wrong. I’m pleading guilty because I am guilty.” Whether he said it, because it would be an uphill battle, not a fair shake, yada yada...doesn't matter. He owned his mistake. He knowingly processed millions of BTC for the use of buying and selling drugs. I'm not condoning buying or selling drugs, right or wrong between 2 parties...that's everyone's prerogative or choice. If you get caught, however, an illegal act shouldn't go unpunished, and Shrem is guilty as charged.

Are you seriously suggesting RodeoX that the Bitcoin foundation election process is open and transparent when you have to pay to vote for these people? The bitcoin foundation has and always will be a joke, the peadophilia accusations not just from random people but from people who have specific stories is just making things worse.
I'm saying if you think that crap is what the foundation is all about then you don't know what they are doing. I work with the serious and smart business people who are members. You may not know their names because there is nothing salacious about them, but they are the people who make things happen. The way I operate is to engage and change things I don't like. That includes things within the foundation. I don't complain like a victim, I don't point fingers, I throw punches. Sure I did have to pay to join, but where do you think money comes from? I also pay to join the NRA. I don't agree with much of the NRA's platform either, but they are the player if you want in on the influence game. The bottom line for me is that a failure to influence public and private policy is a loss for the bitcoin community and economy. That is why I have donated my time and BTC to the foundation. It is not what I would have designed, but better than doing nothing and just hoping everything will somehow be ok. It's one thing if one member of the whole foundation is crooked, but it's not just one and not just random members, but actual executive board members. They may not be there now, but were executive board members as of very recently (2014). Now I know they're trying to damage control now, but historically the Bitcoin Foundation had scum city at the very top man.... -Mark Karpeles, founding member of the Bitcoin Foundation. Mt. Gox...need I say more -Charlie Shrem, also founding member of the Bitcoin Foundation. BitInstant founder and Money launderer. Funded Silk Road -Brock Pierce, I already mentioned his profile with diddling and sexual abusing underage boys...Nuff Said. 1 bad apple or actor, sure, it happens. 3 and you got a goddam Pandemic, my friend. Scum from the top down...and it's not debatable.

It'll probably be Spondoolies Tech or KNCMiner bringing the next generation ASIC chips. I remember KNC were the first to the market with 28nm nanoprocess and the first with 20nm nanoprocess, so if that trend continues, then they'll be the first with "Solar" 16nm chips: https://www.kncminer.com/news/news-118FYI, this is not an endorsement of KNC, as they've proven some shadiness with their business practices, QA and shipping disasters, suspect self mining KNC Cloud, and bungled pre order model with Titan. Just stating facts about being the first to market with the newest chips.

Im seeing all these news about China considering banning bitcoin. What the hell are these guys going to do then?
Continue mining. Nothing is going to happen from the PBOC. China's been banning Bitcoin for 4 or 5 years already, if they'd want something completely banned, they'd do it by now, being a Communist country and all.

Who cares if it goes lower than $215. Price goes up, price goes down. Supply and demand.
Ideally, anyone involved wants BTC price to exceed X amount, because we all have a stake in it.
The only question you should ask is "What will happen if we go to zero?"
This is the only valid question, really. Does the experiment end? Do we move on from this? Is there a substitute or another currency we look towards?
Not $215.

Bitcoin can be cash if you use it or treat it like it is.
It can be a payment or wire system also, like a Paypal or Western Union.
It can also act like a commodity or tradeable asset, as it has price fluctuations and is easily traded on various exchanges.
It can be a way to notarize or record an important event, as evidenced by the Blockchain ledger.
That is the beauty of Bitcoin, and advantage, over traditional cash...it has many layers, utilities, and functions.

Haha you might as well as well run through a corn field in the pitch dark naked to see if you get poked in the hiney! It's gonna happen. Posting such non sense in a public forum, where they maybe a couple of bad actors amongst thousands of visitors each day is a bad example of what the community represents. Just like if you walk through a bad neighborhood alleyway where murders and rapes took place, and you come out unscathed, doesn't mean it's not a bad alleyway. Not a good measure of what a Bitcoin community is all about. If you really really want to know what the community is all about, you'd go to those Bitcoin meetups, conventions, meet with developers, meet with people near you: http://bitcoin.meetup.com/Not stupid stunts like this!
