2821  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: elmanchez exit scam, loan default on: August 02, 2020, 04:28:03 PM
The last time I had a convo with this guy is way back early this year. At first, he was asking me to lend him some BTC (because I won a contest that day). Instead of lending, I donated it instead as my heartfelt gesture.

Then he likes to make a free logo for me, and I said okay. However, he didn't fulfill it after days of waiting, so I didn't mind though. That's the last time I talked to him and nothing more.

At first, I thought he was a good guy because of his good trust record without any problem at all (that was back then). But now it seems he finally unleashed his dark side and decides to become the bad guy. Sorry for those who were exit scammed by him.
2822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter Hackers Arrested! [Updated] on: August 02, 2020, 04:14:00 PM
A Florida teen just got arrested for Twitter’s huge hack

Early this morning, the FBI, IRS, US Secret Service, and Florida law enforcement placed a 17-year-old in Tampa, Florida, under arrest — accusing him of being the “mastermind” behind the biggest security and privacy breach in Twitter’s history, one that took over the accounts of President Barack Obama, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, and more to perpetrate a huge bitcoin scam on July 15th.

The teen is currently in jail, being charged with over 30 felony count, including organized fraud, communications fraud, identity theft, and hacking, according to Hillsborough State Attorney Andrew Warren in a just-broadcast news conference describing the arrest.

It’s not clear whether the 17-year-old is the only suspect in the case. “I can’t comment on whether he worked alone,” said Warren. He was arrested at his apartment where he lives by himself, authorities stated.

UPDATE: 3:30 PM EST — According to the U.S. Department of Justice, two other individuals — 19-year-old U.K. resident Mason Sheppard and 22-year-old Florida resident Nima Fazeli — have also been charged for their alleged participation in the hacks.

Sheppard has been charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud, conspiracy to commit money laundering, and the intentional access of a protected computer.
Fazeli has been charged with aiding and abetting the intentional access of a protected computer. Both were charged via a complaint filed in the Northern District of California, according to the DOJ's statement.

Among the listed participants in the investigation was blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis.

Holy smokes! He was just 17? Oh well, he wasn't an ordinary 17-year old kid. He is truly gifted, but using it in a very bad way. It's just that instead of a brighter future, he chose the "dark side".

Same thing goes to the other youngsters who assisted him in this major Twitter hack. He truly deserved the punishment that he gets along with his poor minions.
2823  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you agree with the experts? on: July 30, 2020, 11:18:26 AM
corona has affected  the economics globally  but has also dampened the growth of crypto-currencies. Until the dreadful disease get wholly wiped off, it is not possible to see any improvement in the crypto market.

Various experts are constantly monitoring the market and saying this. I agree with them.

What do you think about this? Do you also monitor the market?

I don’t really believe with the experts though. You know why? It’s because their predictions are not accurate at all, and there are no guarantees that they would make it right. No matter what charts, patterns, candlesticks or other techniques that they have, there are no guarantees here in the world or cryptocurrency.

It’s clear that the crypto market is highly volatile and unpredictable due to various circumstances. Like for example, when Bitcoin is soaring like crazy, there might be whale dumpers who are watching the market and wait for the right time to strike in dumping. Scammers who stole a lot of Bitcoins from the victims are also watching the market and will mass dump when they want.

I don’t agree with the experts. I highly agree with risk management. Just my two sats.
2824  Economy / Economics / Re: Why I am quitting ICO's on: July 30, 2020, 11:12:14 AM
ICOs are red hot in 2017, which Bitcoin skyrocketed to it’s all-time highs. It was also a great year for airdrops and bounty campaigns. But for now, I honestly believe that ICOs are a thing of the past in a few years from now. In other words, they would phase out anytime soon.

As of today, IEOs and DeFi projects are taking over. To be honest, I lost more money in investing ICOs than trading, but I totally understand the risks and managing myself with it.
2825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers are back with another trick. Be alert!!! on: July 30, 2020, 10:51:53 AM
Scammers are back with their old method but with another new trick. Currently, they are streaming video on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoQX4hElcSU&feature=emb_rel_pause, with the video title 100000 ETH giveaway. Be alert guys.   They made the channel name Foxnews which is fake of course and they are streaming an @ethglobal video.

Scammers like them are innovating themselves in a whole new level. They brainstorm a lot with new ideas or with a twist and using their marketing skills to take advantage of non-crypto guys and gals out there who are desperate for money.

It’s just sad that most of the beginners and newbies fell for this trap without even taking time to verify if the Youtube channel is officially from “Fox News” or so.
2826  Economy / Services / Re: Looking to hire someone 600 usd a month on: July 30, 2020, 10:47:39 AM
Any thread with a similar type of headline like this and not giving out full details in public (but instead in PM) is purely suspicious to me. There are some threads like this that creates curiosity, but ended up as a money laundering or illegal type of work.

Sorry but I have encountered these threads before in other job marketplace forums, ads, etc., that lets you do something illegally in the end (which of course I instantly reject and flag them). The details should always be in full when posting a job opportunity in the thread. Just saying.
2827  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you make `Trading` profitable? on: July 30, 2020, 05:13:03 AM
There's no such thing as risk-free trading, and no guarantees that we will be getting profits as well due to the unpredictable conditions of the cryptocurrency market. It's pretty simple though, just simply buy low and sell high based on the TAs from the trading experts (especially the support and resistance level).

At the end of the day, it's still all about money and risk management that we really need to implement. Once you place the buy or sell order, you must understand the risks that you're taking because the market condition is unpredictable and it'll sudden change in any minute or so due to high volatility.
2828  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats your fears in new cryptocurrency? on: July 30, 2020, 05:00:36 AM
In the past years in this cryptocurrency project many of has experienced had I know especially me because of some cryptocurrency project I missed to participate because of fear and doubt, as a person if you begin to look at the risk and what you have lost in the digital world you Will never get yourself involve in new crypto currency forgetting that life itself is a risk. What then is your fear in crypto?

There are several factors that I am currently looking on regarding the promotion of new projects and cryptocurrencies.

1. Full transparency (project updates, activities, transactions through the blockchain, etc.)
2. Team members with real and verified LinkedIn accounts
3. Legitimacy of their partnership claims
4. Frequent social media activity (especially videos coming from CEO and other team members facing the camera)
5. Marketing budget in fiat, BTC or ETH (not their own coins or tokens)

One concern that I want to address these new projects are having too much giveaways. I know one project that is doing that, and it results for their token to severely dump in the exchange. And also, I have a little concern regarding social media promotion. There are some bounty hunters who are promoting the projects in their Facebook timeline and ended up without reactions or engagements, which seems useless traffic. I'm suggesting that these bounty programs must enhance their pre-qualifying measures for the participants to join.
2829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Pump DeFi projects are on fire! on: July 30, 2020, 04:29:15 AM
I totally agree that DeFi is on fire right now! This is the reason why Ethereum has surged up to $324 and Bitcoin up to $11,400. Based on my analysis though, the surge is kinda parabolic rather than being a steady staircase. For me, I think there would be a bit of a price correction after this parabolic surge before we could see steady gains again.

We thought that Bitcoin would be "boring" because of the price treading water between $9,000-$9,300 for a long while. Now that DeFi is on a roll, I certainly believe it will help push Bitcoin, Ethereum and other promising altcoins (especially DeFi coins and tokens) to go even higher later on.
2830  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Buying a domain with name cheap using bitcoin on: July 30, 2020, 03:53:20 AM
Hello
I think I will buy a name cheap domain using bitcoin.

I know some members here have a domain registered by name cheap. Is it fully anonymous? Do I have to give any documents kyc? Thanks.

Never tried NameCheap to buy domain for years ever since because I use GoDaddy. But it's a good thing that NameCheap now has Bitcoin accepted as payment method for buying domains once and for all. It's all about mainstream adoption.

I just don't know if GoDaddy would ever follow the footsteps of NameCheap in adopting Bitcoin. I'm currently using Paypal to buy and renew my domains under GoDaddy.
2831  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [Obyte] Get Free Bytes Daily For Computing For Good [NEW: COVID-19 Crunching] on: July 29, 2020, 06:42:44 PM
Perfect timing for my PC that just got upgraded it's SSD and reformatting as well. I am looking forward to try this opportunity once and for all.

I do have some few questions though:

1. Are there any limits in earning Bytes daily?
2. Are there any limits for the number of participants in this opportunity?
3. Can I run it on both Windows and Macbook simultaneously under one same account?
4. Are there no conflicts in running these apps at the same time while playing video games, video editing, etc.?

EDIT: I can make video of this both English and Taglish (mixed Tagalog and English) language voluntarily. Advocacy at it's finest!

2833  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much you earn in bounty hunting for the year 2019-2020 on: July 27, 2020, 11:48:46 AM
Let us talk straight. In this trying times some were coming back here in the forum knowing they could get hope to join in bounty hunting and to earn tokens by which then converted to btc then fiat. I know of this because I myself was a bounty hunter before and doing odd stuffs and then I quit due to the fact that many projects do failed or they did not pay and make a good exchange for their tokens rewarded.

Since I have been long gone into bounty hunting(earning tokens) I want to know if bounty hunting promoting an ICO project still earning. How much was the highest paid to you from bounty projects? (for the year 2019-2020 projects only.)

Update: who were good bounty managers nowadays?

The best year that I am doing bounties is on 2017, but it was on the 4th quarter. If I knew bounty campaigns in early 2017, I would have pocketed a lot of it. On 2018 where Bitcoin had its greatest crash from almost $20k to $3k, I am just lucky enough to cash out some bounties when they were still having good value, plus being a development team member in various projects.

2019 bounties were not much, but few ones got lucky. I was relying on some of the bounty tokens I #HODL since 2018 where they still maintained value, which I could afford traveling a lot overseas.

As for 2020? We'll, I don't know. Although that I am still joining some for extra money during the pandemic, it's way better than nothing at all. Plus, DeFi projects with bounty are something that I am keeping an eye on.
2834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Remembering the earily days of mining... on: July 27, 2020, 11:40:51 AM
Up to this day, I still regretted not knowing Bitcoin years ago. If I did knew it, I would have bought and mined a lot while the mining pool isn't "congested" yet. I remember the time when I saw something on Facebook about Bitcoin mining, I was not convinced yet because of the network marketing company that I was focusing on.

Could've bought some mining rigs back then if I knew Bitcoin's potential. I was full of regrets that time, but it is what it is. There's still hope for other mineable altcoins out there.
2835  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: WARNING! allicolister and cryptogigsmarket are the same Scam. Be careful! on: July 27, 2020, 11:17:16 AM
Can the mods kindly move this topic to the Scam Accusations section?

To the OP, please next time make sure when you post something, it must be in an appropriate section. However, it was good that you have exposed it and the screenshots are very helpful as evidence.

Thank you for sharing this to us, so that we will all be aware of this fraudster who might target others here.
2836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Become Negative in Value? on: July 26, 2020, 07:13:53 PM
I was shocked for reading a market breaking new as strange as this.

I paused and reflected again and again by applying this condition to other market assets.

I read from Blomberg that the price of crude oil has declined into a negative  of $-37.63/barrel.

What will happen to countries that depend solely on crude oil revenue?

What will happen to the investors in crude oil?

A very serious reflection is that fact that, is it possible for bitcoin value to also drop into the negative?

What if the following happen:
1. A ban in the demand for bitcoin and a ban in the use of bitcoin.
2. Backing off of bitcoin miners from the business of mining?

Could these causes bring the value of bitcoin to something similar to the historic oil Price drop of $-37.63?

What do you have to say about this?

I don't think that's possible. It might not even go down to zero. There are times that Bitcoin will have a huge dip like what happened in 2018, but it's not possible anymore for BTC to go negative balance.

Unless if all BTCs were mined (probably in 2140 or a quantum computer), this is what we are trying to figure out on what happens if there will be no more BTC miners.
2837  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Escrow is a must to avoid disappointment on: July 26, 2020, 07:02:26 PM
It's becoming more harder for new projects team to keep their promises to bounty hunters, some even said bounty hunters are getting free tokens for free, meaning bounty hunters aren't recognized for their work, I suggest all bounty managers to start using ESCROW.

I believe with escrow payment will be guaranteed, team won't be able to go back on their words, bitwings for example, after a complete year of waiting for payment they decide to do another audit on spreadsheet and they falsely accused bounty hunters without any proof.

Bounty Detective is the only bounty manager using escrow, if many bounty managers start using escrow it will be better.

I've known a bounty manager named Julerz who is definitely using a trusted escrow for guaranteeing payments to the hunters. I think honestly that a legit escrow had a huge advantage for both parties, making sure that everything is settled and accomplished in a right way.

Like there are some bounty managers out there who had no guarantee of their trust. The project would allocate tokens to them for distribution, but there's a chance that they would run away with that. For me, I think escrow is really necessary for bounty distribution.
2838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum : Its not too late on: July 26, 2020, 05:36:17 PM
DeFi is the main reason why Ethereum is on a bullish trend. I was expecting that Ethereum will reach $300 realistically by August, but it seems that it touched down earlier than expected. But don't count on it though, because anything can happen in just a day, week or so.

I did "long" the Ethereum, which I'm kinda happy with the gains as I am holding them since it was around $200-$210 in value. Not only that, I'm also bullish on NWC, ADA, XLM and LINK. It feels like DeFi was going to dominate the crypto and blockchain space, as ICOs/IEOs are going to be a thing of the past later on.

2840  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid-19 effect on your country's economy!!! on: July 25, 2020, 10:08:13 AM
World is facing a new crisis almost last 6 months+ and who knows how much it will remain. For this pandemic outbreaks, economy is getting down in many countries. It's getting cursed for one sector based economy.

Explain your country's economy here by mentioning the sector which is getting down day by day for this pandemic.

It’s terrible. Definitely terrible. Cases are still rising in the Philippines due to the incompetent decisions of the government. Just yesterday, LSIs (Locally Stranded Individuals) are staying at a big memorial complex where social distancing was not practiced, and it was conducted and organized by the national government before they will be sent home to their respective provinces courtesy of the LGUs (Local Government Units).

Each city and province are classified in different levels of quarantine (according to strictest):

1 - Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ or simply hard lockdown)
2 - Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ or slightly lockdown)
3 - General Community Quarantine (limited movement of people only for buying essential goods and services, businesses at limited capacity, borders closed)
4 - Modified General Community Quarantine (only seniors and children below 21 years old are not allowed to go out, most businesses resumed at limited capacity, borders closed)

In case that some low quarantine areas are having some infected patients, there is what we call granular lockdowns like sealing off a house or group of houses or an entire area (barangay or purok) within the radius for 2 weeks, while the LGUs are the ones providing essential goods to the affected.

Most businesses here are filing of bankruptcy or ceasing operations due to huge losses during the pandemic. Huge effect in our economy nowadays.
