In theory you need only one miner for the blockchain to add transaction blocks.

But to be sure that the miner doesn't get drunk and mess everything up Saturday night  you need two.
And to make sure those two don't team up you're much safer with 5.
And so on...

Because of the extremely high difficulty at 46, and the extremely low hashrate, confirmations for transactions are currently taking a very long time. We need more miners to process the transaction faster. Please post in other places, create new threads. Thank you. We need more pools as well.
