2821  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptocurrency really pays on: May 18, 2021, 08:05:08 AM
Some years back when I heard about cryptocurrency from a friend, at that time I didn't bothered to ask him what it was all about and how it works. I was having the feelings that cryptocurrency was like a ponzi scheme that could crash at any time.
The media in the past have likened crypto to ponzi schemes and scams, thus shaping the reaction of the public to crypto but all that is changing now as more and more people like yourself are beginning to see what's can really be accomplished here.

Many who were into cryptocurrency are now expert in the crypto world and living large. Today am so glad to be in this forum to learn and get more knowledge about cryptocurrency.

I guess you are refering to your friends you mentioned earlier. But that can't be right. The number of years one has been in the crypto doesn't make you an expert.  Don't be fooled by the luxurious lifeatyle posed on the internet. The crypto space is not all rosy as you will soon come to find out.
Here are some good books you could read up. Good luck

My condolences to the family, such a sad news coming at this time.
I can't begin the pain the family and loved ones are going through at the moment. It's always difficult having to deal with losing a loved one. I didn't know Becky666 personally but he was easy to spot on the Nigerian hangout because he was always active. Farewell to Bexky666, although you may no longer be with us but your contribution to the bitcoin community will never be forgotten. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirit with us.

Also this comes as a wake up call, this news came to us through Lordhermes who had a good relationship with Becky666. This goes to say even though the forum provides some sort of anonymity we should try our best to interact and meet up with our countrymen and members around your city. This would help us develop a stronger bond in the future.

Yeah, market manipulation so they can buy the dip. That's the power of whales....we have seen this happen before so its not new
Its funny how bitcoin hodlers always wail and panic about every dip.

Its really so sad to see a player as good as Eden Hazard become so bad at playing football...Real Madrid should just loan him next season to a smaller club to build his confidence
2828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: May 07, 2021, 08:55:22 AM
This year's champions league final promises to be an interesting one. Two of England's biggest clubs are facing off in the final. Manchester city have dominated the English premier league this season and they have proved to the formidable team. Pep has once again proved himself as a tactical mastermind. Chelsea on the other hand shocked a lot of people by winning Real Madrid and emerging as finalist. Whichever side wins I'm just glad the UCL is coming to England
2829  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New Comers into crypto on: May 07, 2021, 07:49:20 AM
For newbies don't make the mistake of likening crypto to gambling. You'd be disappointed with the outcome.
Top of the list and probably the most important is Do your own research. As simple as that sounds a lot of people really do not go through the rigorous process of research the project they want to invest in. They gather all their information from the media houses and boom they throw their money in. This may work a few times but its bound to fail. DYOR will save you
2830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Feel Pressed Something while Gambling on: May 07, 2021, 07:32:21 AM
Hahaha very funny. I must say that's one of the worse experience one can have. Too bad it was caught on camera, our friend will have to switch casinos and never return to the hall of shame. I wonder how much he had lost to crank him up so hard....Zilion created a topic sometime ago something about "don't loose the fun" when gambling. I think that's how it should be
2831  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You could die from trading. on: May 06, 2021, 08:40:05 PM
To be successful in trading you have to be able to control your emotions and keep your emotions in check else you're doomed because the market will squeeze and tease you. Having an heart attack/ committing suicide wouldn't be surprising news to me. People act irrational when they lose....be it a job, money, a partner or a loved one. Same applies here nothing particular to the crypto market.  You need to find a balance, something to keep you in place when a trade goes bad. Develop this habit and you'd survive the storm.
2832  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: your worst mistake on: May 06, 2021, 08:08:00 PM
I'm not sure which is worse....forgetting to place stop loss or selling too early just to watch the market pump the next minute. I have had quite an interesting crypto journey. From being a newbie just sitting on the sidelines to being an investor in Bitcoin. I continued in my righteous path of stacking bitcoins for years before delving into alt coins. Of course alts nearly ruined me... Trading was something I wanted to do so I got paid for crypto courses and learnt as much as I could. I remember making my first profit, the feeling was incredible and I also remember my first loss. It was a big blow! So yes worst mistake would be selling too early
2833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: May 06, 2021, 07:56:51 PM
Last night was a disaster forth coming for real Madrid, when the first half scoreboard portray chelsea has the leading team with a lone goal from Timo Werner rebound header at 27 minutes. Going forward, it was still Chelsea tailing the game with most chances either stopped by Thibaut courtois or the ball going wild. Graciously for the blues at the 84th mins Mason pull up a stunner goal for Chelsea which sum up their lead by 2 goals to nil. Defiantly the Chelsea defence were up to their standard all through the game this it was a sheer of English football at its best last night. To crown it all I will say Chelsea were more zealous to bagged the game with a formidable than their opponent Madrid who were the sleeping lions of the game.
2834  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whats the best way/method to learn crypto? on: May 06, 2021, 07:54:06 PM
Let me just say this here, a general rule in business is "never invest in a business you don't understand" . That's a recipe for disaster. But in your case OP things turned out pretty well for you. But also it could have easily been the opposite.
The worse you can possibly do to yourself is to employ the trail and error method, that's the easiest and quickest way to lose your money. Its sure is exhilarating to make some good cash off an investment. Its good that you're interested in learning. That's going to help you a lot, don't expect quick returns or things to be easy. The life of a crypto trader is murky and long but we get by.
2835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: May 06, 2021, 07:37:42 PM
It was a exhilarating game for every Chelsea fan due to their performance and zeal throughout both halves, i really can't say much for real Madrid as the  Players were literally looking uncoordinated. Despite their  show game during the home match at Madrid stadium which ended in a one whole  draw  it seems the entire team went into sleep at Stamford bridge with little or no effort to show from both their key players like Karim benzema, Sergio ramos, kroos  modric and the former Chelsea player maker Eden hazard. The first half only shows two golden chance by Karim benzema shot on target and a header which was rightly stopped by the impeccable Chelsea goal keeper "Mendy".
2836  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto and man what's next on: May 06, 2021, 09:49:36 AM
No doubt crypto is the future. We will see the events play out in this decade and the next. A world crypto domination is bound to happen at some point..that is if the bots don't take over the world lol. The world is gradually shifting, although governments are fighting decentralized currencies, they are also making plans of creating their own crypto. Even though they do not endorse publicly endorse bitcoin and alts but they do understand that a crypto revolution is inevitable. Best the rest of the world can do is listen with an open mind

2837  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why people are scared to use their crypto? on: May 06, 2021, 09:11:03 AM
It's really funny to watch people talk about BTC and other cryptocurrencies  bringing them financial freedom, ease of payments, mass adoption blah blah and at the same time the very same people freak out when they have to (or asked to) make a payment in crypto. Especially payments for overseas transactions.

If anyone wants to screw you with bank transfer - they will. And if they don't - your bank will screw you with fees and exchange rates.
If anyone wants to screw you with and king of digital payment (Paypal etc) - they will.

Lol I think the greater majority invest in Bitcoin for a specific purpose. They don't necessarily see Bitcoin as a means of payment but a store value. Others love hodling so they see any exchange of their coins for goods/services a terrible decision. They love to stack bitcoin but not actually spend the bitcoins. And also like you mentioned this goes far to show that we are still not comfortable with the anonymity that bitcoin provides.

If anyone wants to screw you with cash payment - they will (well, putting a gun to your head is a bit less convenient that using a computer, but there are still people out there that will do it).
Crypto is no different.

And don't tell me that bank transfers/Paypal etc are "secure". Yes, you might get your money back if something goes wrong. But regardless of what they tell you to justify their outrageous fees refund process can take months and months and there's no real guarantee, while bad guys have already cashed your payment and are enjoying themselves
The fees on these sites are outrageous I once used skrill for a transaction with a client in India. The conversion rate was in every way not to my favor. I wished we had an option of Bitcoin but at the time crypto was banned in India and so we had to make do with what we had.

2838  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't ever quit your job to trade crypto. on: May 06, 2021, 08:51:00 AM
I see a lot of newbies ask whether they should quit their jobs to trade crypto, and my honest advice is you should not try it.

The thing with any investment or business is that, no matter the amount of money you have, it is always good to start small and grow over time (don't test water depth with both feets). Because you are entering a new market and you need time to understand the market. Your job will stand as an insurance for you, in case of any loss. So keep your job, continue investing in crypto and growing your portfolio until the money you make from crypto is more than enough to pay for your lifestyle and also save. Then only can you quit your job.
OP I feel a strong energy from your message. You sound so sure and I'm certain you have strong feelings about this. My question to you is this; Have you been in that situation before? If you had, then I'm guessing things went wrong and you regret your actions. Trading crypto is work just like traders on wall street. Its not a gamble, like every other profession, you need to be have an education to be a successful crypto trader. It's a full time job...I don't fancy OP's narrative of making trading sound like a passive thing.

Having a job is considered a safe plan. You're sure to get paid a salary at the end of the month( most times) and you don't have to bother about the company's risks or losses. You save enough to get you through retirement. Playing it safe is good ideology but that won't get you far if you have ambition. I have seen friends quit their jobs to pursue their dreams and passion, very few succeed at it but they move on because they tried at it.
The problem is newbies are lured in the crypto space believing they can change their lives overnight and become billionaires.  A man who believes such can do anything.
