I downloaded the wallet and can't get any active connections. What's the config I should be using? 0.10.7.3 wallet
Could someone point me in a direction? This happened with peercoin and I just added some nodes to fix it. With this wallet though the only file I get is the -qt Do wallets for other coins currently work fine on the same box? What OS? Firewall issue?

My guys been doing this for the past few days:
eth0 / daily
day rx | tx | total | avg. rate ------------------------+-------------+-------------+--------------- 05/09/14 346.34 MiB | 569.44 MiB| 915.78 MiB | 86.83 kbit/s 05/10/14 524.69 MiB | 784.60 MiB| 1.28 GiB | 124.14 kbit/s 05/11/14 593.07 MiB | 1.30 GiB | 1.88 GiB | 182.10 kbit/s 05/12/14 878.42 MiB | 2.15 GiB | 3.01 GiB | 292.27 kbit/s 05/13/14 478.18 MiB | 1.32 GiB | 1.78 GiB | 268.31 kbit/s ------------------------+-------------+-------------+---------------
I only started monitoring it halfway through the 9th so that day's incomplete. No idea if this is normal or not, I was going to watch it for a while.
Use darkcoind getpeerinfo to check if there is old client(0.8.x, and 0.9.0). Old client(0.8.x, and 0.9.0) try to download newer blocks they don't have but POW check error occurred, doing download newer blocks again and again. As old client get stucked in specific block height(no), it's logged to debug.log. example. 2014-05-12 19:42:23 getblocks 12240 to 000000000d7ab1df31075f8f5e56508b120dfb292bc579f6c7fc2b62609516e3 limit 500 2014-05-12 19:42:23 getblocks stopping at 12243 000000000d7ab1df31075f8f5e56508b120dfb292bc579f6c7fc2b62609516e3 again and again
This is from one of my node, past few days. I have simply banned them. 27 /Satoshi:0.9.0/ 24 /Satoshi:0.8.9/ 13 /Satoshi:0.8.9.2/ 9 /Satoshi:0.8.6.2/ 4 /Satoshi:0.8.6.1/ 3 /Satoshi:0.8.8/ 2 /Satoshi2:0.8.6.2/ 1 /litecoinseeder:0.01/ 1 /WorldcoinFoundation:0.8.6.1/ 1 /Leadoshi:1.0.0.2/
With May 14th Hardfork, those old clients will be isolated completely. Then I will remove my useless ban scripts. So bandwidth usage should go down tomorrow?

politicians need it too
Biggest crooks out there, they'll be decrying it in the media and using it like fury themselves.

My point is that i don't see a long-term success sroty for darkcoin BECAUSE of the darksend feature. i can imagine a future where it will be delisted BECAUSE of it's potential for anonymous transactions, i can understand many worldwide agencies which would want to shut it down because of this, even if it's optional.
my question was what is the "sister" coin to DRK, and it was answered HIRO, which *seems* to be the next leading X11 coin, that's all i want, is a coin that uses X11 that won't melt my apartment down with the summer heat incoming. That's it.
believe it or not, i don't give a shit about the darksend feature, and you'd probably be surprized at how many people feel the same way, DRK is in a bubble right now because of X11, not darksend. X11 is what everyone's moving their GPUs to, that's why DRK has caught so much attention.
trust me, just watch. if you could launder money easy as pie with darksend, do you NOT think that there are many people in this world who would take notice? there's a reason i stick with currencies which can be tracked aka bitcoin/litecoin. cause they're not in danger of being shutdown, delisted, destroyed like coins trying to become anonymous. shit even a dollar bill has a serial number on it, you don't think that no tracking, no serial number, no way of see money change hands isn't a huge liability in this world? you're kidding yourself.
I think you'll find some people in Langley, for a start, who would just love to be able shift a lot of money around instantly, cheaply, and untraceably. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

And someone dos'es the node for an hour = 500GB.
Huh, here's me thinking I only got charged for outbound traffic? Of which there will be none when being DDOS'd.

I imagine it will rise a whole lot from here with greater adoption... 0.02 Mb/s is about 6.4GB/month I think? I can see 100GB being required pretty soon, and 1TB not very long after if all goes the way we hope it will.
I don't think I can follow you with bits and bytes here, please spell these out. Looks to me like they are all hovering around 0.02Megabits/second, (Amazon scale is bytes, not bits) Multiply 0.02 Mb/s by 2592000 (seconds in 30 days) = 51840 Mbits/month = 6480 Mbytes/month = 6.4GB/month My arithmetic is crap though, and these are very rough numbers... ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

Bandwidth from three of my masternodes, two Amazon, bottom one DO. This look about comparable to anyone else's? ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi57.tinypic.com%2F2ltsys3.png&t=663&c=ErTyhTfv7InBLw) I imagine it will rise a whole lot from here with greater adoption... 0.02 Mb/s is about 6.4GB/month I think? Then again I have no idea how it will scale. ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif)

can someone please tell me if there is a darkcoin sistercoin which does not use the darksend feature? i happen to think that an anonymizing feature like this is actually not a selling point, and infact a point of contention for future adoption. bitcoin and litecoin have openly rejected any ideas to implement such a feature.
i really like the x11 algorithm, but i want to just use it on a normal coin, is there a list of available x11 coins out there? or a consensus on what the #2 x11 coin is? ie. one that's already on real exchanges etc?
anyone?> Darkcoin, with the darksend box unticked Dammit I was going to post this but got tied up in a silly argument with some local witchcraft practitioners. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) oh really? What type of magick were they practising? Economics.

And confirmation of what? Events you can already see have happened? Wow, that's useful! Confirmation of which direction the price is going in. Although it may seem strange, you can't tell that from looking at the price because it moves in waves and a down wave may be just a small ripple on a more substantial upwave which is actually the "real" trend. The indicators tell you which it is. Think of a bicycle pedal. You're going up a steep hill. To an ant on your shoe, every half cycle it looks like you're going down. But zoom out and you can see that your actually going up long term. Without the indicators you are the ant. With the indicators you can see the whole bike and know which direction its nose is pointed. So it's not bullshit. It's eyes. The fundamental laws of physics disagree with you, but good luck! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

You cannot quantatively predict the future the way you are claiming, whatever jargon you erroneously toss about.
I don't think he claimed he could "quantatively predict the future". He just said people shouldn't trade off lagging indicators. They should use them for confirmation which is difficult to argue with. All 'indicators' are lagging, because you can't see the future. Lightcones and all that jazz. And confirmation of what? Events you can already see have happened? Wow, that's useful!

Guess you should tell that to anyone that practices technical analysis.
Technical analysis my arse, you might as well use tarot cards. You cannot quantatively predict the future the way you are claiming, whatever jargon you erroneously toss about.

b.t.w. what is a "leading indicator" if it's not asset fundamentals, not news, not MA crossovers and not MACD signals ?
There are no actual leading indicators, unless you own a crystal ball or a highly modified DeLorean. Price is a leading indicator as is momentum. Current price has no direct causal effect on future price. You are misusing the term momentum - it does not exist in this case. Current price can tell you directionally where something is heading Bullshit. Current price tells you current price, nothing else. And what you are calling momentum is just your mental projection of where you think the price is going. It is not real. Calculating rate of change after the event does not count, as it has no causative effect going forward. Lol, misusing the term momentum? Rate of change of price is momentum by definition. It very much exists in anything that moves.
No, rate of change is acceleration. delta-v and momentum are completely different things. Not that it matters, due to the whole no causative effect going forward thing.

Can someone please give me an updated list of commands to install darkcoin wallet on ubuntu? I tried a bunch of the instructions on google but I cant get any of them to work. Any help is much appreciated ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . Pablo. From the CLI? wget http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/darkcoin-qt OR http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/rc/darkcoin-qt chmod 755 darkcoin-qt ./darkcoin-qt
From a GUI just go here: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/postponing-masternode-payments-till-may-25th.578/Pick which version (stable or RC), download, right-click on the downloaded file, properties, permissions tab, tick make executable, double click to run.

Now you copy and paste your own posts? Are you a bot or a troll?
After seeing his bullshit posts so many times, why have the people quoting him not ignored him? Fucked Up Drivel needs to be squashed, lest newcomers believe his nonsense.

Plus, we're all just too goddamn pretty to not win. ![Kiss](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/kiss.gif) Can't stop the signal... ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) The more I read up on our 'competition' the more confident I get. I see, mainly, a whole lot of disorganised theorists whose current plan seems to be to, well, come up with some sort of plan, and bitch about our already established but rapidly evolving infrastructure. Meanwhile eduffield is quietly getting on with business.
