2821  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: "Bitcoin" vs "bitcoin" | Do we know the difference? on: March 05, 2022, 07:46:10 AM
I noticed that too with my auto correct whenever I'm writing words that had to with bitcoin and Bitcoin. I was getting tired of it at a point and from my research, bitcoin is use in writing to indicate Bitcoin as a currency and Bitcoin as it main protocol and anything other things that had to with bitcoin network.
If I have 0.1btc, I may decide to put it like 0.1 bitcoin and for it protocol for example: I was able to download the Bitcoin full ledger, that's how I make it easy for my self....
2822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Past eight months bitcoin journey on: March 04, 2022, 06:33:35 PM
The thread has been updated with my 9th month of Bitcoin DCA journey and apologies for being late this time as have told you all previously that was busy somewhere else but have now taken out time to update the thread.

This time I went on different approach and invested $100 each week without expanding the incremented amount because there were some fund issue on my side but still decided to cope up and not hinder my investment journey which i have started so somehow managed funds.See we need to go some miles extra if we want to reach our destination and mine is still far away so going back is not a option now and getting profits also.

Will answer the above questions soon .

I must say that you are well disciplined to be able to do this for straight 8 months into doing dollar cost average, I hope you are still eating enough, I don't joke about food, you need to be fit in other to survive the two jobs without harming the inner system.Wink

The current price of Bitcoin at $40,888, $2800 will give you roughly 0.06848 which is slightly bigger than the current amount of BTC you were able to accumulate, wouldn't it be better to stack the $$ and buy bitcoin during the dip times. From July 14 of last year till now, bitcoin has dipped multiple times. You would have been able to get more of Bitcoin instead of weekly buy that will end up at high prices.
2823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin private key storage on: March 04, 2022, 05:54:08 PM
Ofcourse I know how important the private key is. I wouldn't have shared all the words to the vendor and would have opted to do it from 3-4 different vendors.
That's the reason why I made this thread to ask how the engraving is done at first place. I was wondering how so many people got their keys on the plates.
How can I do it myself because I don't have an engraving machine. This is why I was confused and thought to ask you guys here.

Are you aware that every workman or artisan has an association to which they all belong? They may not be in every association, but there is one that they had to attend in order to discuss their personal progress. You said that you would construct your seed on metal in various locations, have you though the likelihood of these men by chance, reviewed your workpiece as a discussion and boom! that's a catct to lose your coins to four wonders of the world at a simple round table!

There are videos and blogs on the web that can guide you on the DIY, your seed is only safe in your hands. You can stylishly go to a workshop for some self, just don't tell them you real intention of learning from them.
2824  Economy / Economics / Re: Decentralized assets might be the saving grace after the war on: March 03, 2022, 07:46:10 PM
Bitcoin has been a better store of value than any asset I have heard in my entire life, it may be volatile and have crashed several time but it has been a saving grace for Millions. If bitcoin highest price was $10 in 2010 and gold was worth almost $1k but today bitcoin price is around $43k while gold is still a less than $2k, tell me which is a good option for storage of value.

The world is watching, Russia want to eat what they produce and sell it within their self.

Storage of value asset should be having stable value and constant and consistent growth which isn't the same in Bitcoin, I do accept it has grown too much in the last 10 years even Santoshi couldn't imagine that but the fact is if you are selling all your assets to buy Bitcoin and consider it as best Store of value then you're taking life risk, diverse your portfolio and lesser the risk.

Interesting!
The gold you said earlier as an alternative to Bitcoin, has it been stable from your explanation? I think we need some basic understanding here, What exactly is a store of value?
From Investopedia:

Quote
What Is a Store Of Value?
A store of value is an asset, commodity, or currency that maintains its value without depreciating.

A store of value is essentially an asset, commodity, or currency that can be saved, retrieved, and exchanged in the future without deteriorating in value. In other words, to enter this category, the item acquired should, over time, either be worth the same or more.

Source: https://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/storeofvalue.asp

A store of value can be anything as long as it helps you maintain a value over time, a piece of land you bought for $100 may be worth $1000 in the future, if you have kept that $100 bill, it would have been eaten deeply by hyperinflation.
Bitcoin is always described as high risk (what is life without risk) and one of the most volatile digital assets, but be honest which one of the three(silver, gold and bitcoin) would you choose to invest in if you could go back in time and protect your wealth.  Wink

The reply is very rude but again, he just spoke what they do best, you know very well that they are centralized exchanges like banks, they have their policy and terms you accepted in the course of registration, no one should feel bitter for his response.
I used centralized exchanges when there is a need for normal p2p it's and strictly fiat to crypto and as soon as I get credited, my balance remains zero. Don't dare exchange to keep your assets, it's dangerous. Always remember not your keys not your authorization to spend the way you may want.
2826  Economy / Economics / Re: Decentralized assets might be the saving grace after the war on: March 02, 2022, 10:01:21 PM
Decentralized cryptocurrencies are good but not in terms of storage of value so I will add gold as well which is more stable and accepted anywhere in the world. I don't think these donations are going for rebuilding the economy and what if the Russia captured the Ukraine completely? The country will be no more so Russia will take the resources and rebuild their falling economy?

2827  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware of Emotional Scam on: March 02, 2022, 09:44:03 PM
Is this the usual online scam that you don't get to meet the person or it was just a physical kind of relationship? I am surprised what you were expecting when you lent $50k to a woman who you are emotional attracted to and she knew this and then you expected her to return it? If it was your wife in the first place, I wouldn't say it's bad move as whatever she invested in will likely come back within you guys but an ordinary relationship shows you are not smart with women.
It is possible that she didn't invest the money, she May have returned the half of what you lent her and manipulate you to give away the remaining one. Grin
2828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: March 02, 2022, 09:07:26 PM
Real Madrid - PSG game is getting close and it is only a week away from us right now. This is the game that I am very curious about now. I expect a high-scoring game above all else. Maybe PSG would defeat Real Madrid by the same score they defeated Bayern Munich last season away, 3-2. Or maybe a 2-1 score which is going to happen. But I have started thinking that PSG will still win this game even though Real Madrid give their best to turn the tide. PSG are still a team that is one step ahead of Real Madrid espeically by their incredible attacking players like Mbappe, Messi and Neymar.

Real Madrid is no match for PSG, their last game was away from home, now it's the opposite. Real Madrid may do everything they can to defend their home, unlike the last time when they had weak defenders and allowed Mbape to score in the closing minutes.
Real Madrid is no longer the team I knew during Ronaldo's time, and I don't think they have the same energy to win the Champions League this season.
2829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble what you can afford to lose on: March 02, 2022, 08:48:36 PM
Definitely most of us here are aware and already heard of that sentence countless times. Recently I found something related to, there's a guy who lost few thousand dollars worth of crypto in two weeks of span times and tried to blame gambling influencers/streamers (or whatever you called them) for its losses. afaik the mentioned influencers didn't take responsibility for what happened to him.

He must be a dumb type to be influenced by someone he thought their credibility will double his marriage a wallet  full of dollars that will make his wedding the talk of the town. It's either he doesn't know what his doing or he is one of the unserious type to gamble the whole $2000. What happen to trying out $50 deposit and see hoe the outcome of the game will be and even if he decided to deposit all, I am not sure if a beginner will wager everything he had on him.

I will enjoy streaming playing from YouTube but I wouldn't do try it out until I'm confident of my self and it will be with a smaller amount.
2830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever subscribe to any tipser giving sports betting premium picks? on: March 02, 2022, 07:35:37 PM
When I was still new to sports betting, I saw a lot of posts from a company or individual offering their premium pick if you will subscribe to them. The subscription fee defers, some are cheap while some offer a high subscription but they all promise the same thing, "long-term profitability".

So the question here is, does anybody here actually subscribe to any tipster who gives sports betting premium picks, and how much is did you pay?

What was the experience, is it profitable or do you feel you got scammed?

It happened to a pal, and it wasn't just money for him, it was money that his mother placed on his account for his Master's in Canada, but you know how addiction can drive someone to do things that don't make sense. This is one of the major impending scams in my area, they call it sure ODDS, and the question I asked myself was, if this genuinely works for them, why go to such lengths to get others to give you money to play instead of doing it all yourself?
You'll see them in Facebook groups, local forums, and bet shops standing behind the door, and it's beyond me why you'd believe an unknown person would want to share your legitimate tip of winning your ticket in the first place.
2831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: March 02, 2022, 07:15:20 PM
Are you enjoying the Leipzig match against Hanover? Leipzig is leading 2-0. They will easily win this match. Across the field I can see the dominance of Leipzig players. Hanover does not get a chance to attack. They are even failing to keep the ball in their possession. I thought Leipzig will score three goals in this match. Let's see if they are able to score one more goal.

Leipzig is performing very well, and it's already 4-0, it looks like Leipzig and Leverkusen will soon be fighting for third place in the table, with just a one-point difference. They both have their next match in three days, and it will be a close struggle between the two clubs. Nkunku is still in the early stages of his career and appears to be Leipzig's last hope, it's no surprise that Manchester United is still interested in him.
2832  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Huge crypto scam that happened last year(2021) on: March 01, 2022, 11:16:22 PM
I must agree with this since this is what I experienced. I've also lost my funds when I invested them in NFT projects due to hype which is also my mistake. Most of them have turned into rug pull. One thing I realized is that there's no such thing as easy money or earnings. Most of them have turned into a ponzi scheme and those who invested first benefited from it the most. I guess every NFT would end up that way if the developers couldn't handle it well.

Cryptocurrency is not for the fainted heart, they are volatile and may break you, especially the new one if you don't do the proper steps require before investing in any project. You may even do all the necessary things needed but the project you invested in may still fail, It is just risky to put money on new ideas.
Instead of wanting to enter a new project and lose all, it is better you buy a project that is already in the market with a good reputation and has something decent after holding for some period, who knows you may even get more profits in there than the new crap projects that will give you a heart attack.
2833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What websites you use for live scores? on: March 01, 2022, 11:05:44 PM
6. Livescore
Honorable mention for one of the first original website for tracking live results, simple and still working fine in 2022.
https://www.livescore.com/

Live score isn't only my best, it's also great for beginners since it allows them to simply move through multiple tabs with favourite sports, and the ads don't crowd out the information, and you rarely see the unnecessary videos that you see on other live scores. It recognizes your session and allows you to favourite a club without requiring you to join up. The app is quite simple on IOs, especially for me, however, they still support outdated wap phones which is cool.
2834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: March 01, 2022, 10:43:06 PM
Bayern Munich will face Leverkusen this week. Leverkusen are also in good form, in their last 6 matches, Leverkusen can get 5 wins and 1 loss. In fact they can beat Dortmund with a landslide score of 5-2. I hope Leverkusen do the same when they meet Bayern Munich later, at least they can win by a narrow score to keep Bayern Munich from getting points.

It doesn't look bad for Bayern as well, they have won 4 games in their last 6 matches, draw 1 and losing 1 to Bochum as they are still struggling for the ECL qualifiers, even with 5 wins and 1 loss, they will still be below Bayern Munich and before they get there, it is possible that they will have win at least 4 matches with 12 more points keeping them in the top of the league. Leverkusen and Dortmund may continue to struggle for second place as the two have won 5 matches and lost 1 in their last matches.

2835  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: March 01, 2022, 09:11:19 PM
It's 2022 and still some casinos/books have high withdrawal fees. It is unbelievable. Bitcoin transaction fees are less than a dollar, how come these casinos can't afford giving free withdrawal. Maybe they can give like once a week or four times a month or something

Will you support the same idea if you run the same casino, just like a crypto exchange, you will have to pay your own withdrawal fee and to say they are even fair. In the bitcoin withdrawal option, I can see a $2 fee which is something you hardly see on exchanges. Isn't the weekly bonus not enough, If a casino promises you a chance to win up to $100k a month?

I am seeing less than $2 with alt different alts supported, how are they processing withdrawals for Ethereum that's having an average of $8 as a transaction fee and a spike in BTC sat/Vbyte for transactions, the table was last updated less than weeks but nothing changes about them.
2836  Economy / Gambling / Re: Would you support a collective boycott of all Russian gambling platforms? on: March 01, 2022, 08:52:48 PM
I can't believe you think that way. If you saw a bully attacking a weaker kid in the schoolyard, would you not intervene?

I don't know much about the history and I don't want to change the topic of discussion but Ukraine gave up their nuclear weapons to Russia for a reason, you can't sign a deal and want to change it afterwards, If intervention is by boycotting Russian casinos, did presidency owned them? it still doesn't make sense for the poor to suffer at the hands of political decisions, both Russia and Ukraine need to end it.

Putin cannot be the only responsible party, he could not have done all this by himself. You can learn more about State responsibility under International law here.

Putin is a leader but of course surrounded by a round table that makes decisions but casino or any other business didn't order the invasion of Ukraine, they are already suffering from inflation and other sanctions.

Quoted, but unfortunately fail to verify
Strange!
Why? What wallet did you use to verify, I used Electrum to signed the message.

Quoted and verified with Electrum.
All is good.

Thanks, I appreciate. Is there a reason why a signed message will verify in a wallet and fail in another?

2839  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Institutional investors changing the Bitcoin price behaviour? on: February 28, 2022, 09:02:44 PM
I wonder if we are going to see higher manipulation than whatever we are feeling already about it but whales only do what is needful for their business and smaller buyers or individuals have to follow them by the chart. If you notice a huge buy in the chart that means to expect more buy and price will appreciate and that follows down too. I don't think institutional buyers are going to be a problem with the bitcoin behavior.

The whales always rule the market, it's a fact that you see in every market. Let's say, for example, we have some wallets addresses that have bitcoin locked on them for many years that has not been moved by the real owners, the moment the private key owner desire to spend from thus wallet always create this fear among holders and speculators that the early birds are trying to cash out, the whales will want to sell at the top and use the opportunity to buy at lower price maximizing their hodl and that's how the fear will naturally create a panic sell in the market.

Again, of what used is Bitcoin to institutional if they don't have the chance to buy on low price and  if the price of Bitcoin doesn't go up over time, try will do whatever they feel is good for them as long as their money is involved.
2840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on the war on: February 28, 2022, 07:55:40 PM
Whether everything can be bet on gambling including the war conflicts of Russia and Ukraine, even if one has been addicted to excessive gambling but it is very unethical to bet on conventional issues regarding the safety of the Ukrainian nation from the Russian war conflicts. At least we should pray for the realization of peace from the war conflict even if we don't physically provide assistance to Ukraine.

I was trying to see whether they were licensed, and it turned out that they were, but it was based on a yes/no forecast with a long time period. I wanted to react at first, but it's only a poll, so nothing very substantial like humans or other difficult aspects is involved.

The platform isn't to be blamed but those who are going the extra mile to wager on the outcomes of war are the faulty ones to be blamed, there are other things to bet on, but it appears they are bored. After the horrible things that have been seen online, the last thing anyone would want to do in a war right now is to gamble with the lives of people.
