2821  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1xbit SCAMMED MY 6500 USD on: July 07, 2022, 09:28:09 PM
Isn’t that casino unlicensed?
A lot of crypto casino do not have license or just have CURACAO licensing. Many users really don't care to contact the licensing provider i guess because they do not want to go and file a case to reveal their identity. Since crypto payments are not reversible they can not report the merchant too for a refund. It's one of the benefit crypto casinos enjoys unfortunately.

Idk why anyone would play there
Anonymity is one of the good reason including many others.
2822  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1xbit SCAMMED MY 6500 USD on: July 07, 2022, 07:35:38 PM
A social media post campaign might be a good start to exposed this scam exchange. We just need to make it trend so that the public can see what’s the cause.
Still one will need a lot of FREE time to invest. 1st you need to check every users in the forum and anywhere else who were victim of 1xbit. This will take you a long time. Once you have xxx number of users then launch a social campaign, maybe a Facebook and twitter page. Give efforts to viral a hashtag together to make awareness. It's just a lot of work to do and patience is needed too. It sounds impossible but it is doable.

Finding all the victims and collecting their contact could be a good start. Question is who will take this project and give his free time for this non-profit initiative?
2823  Other / Meta / Re: PSA: Do NOT use the insecurity misfeature of a “secret question”. #getagrip on: July 07, 2022, 06:41:31 PM
Check the username. Does it remind you the user alia?

Roll Eyes

Get a grip.  No other way to say this:  That is ridiculously stupid.
Yes, I may be stupid but how are you so sure 🤣

Luckily I'm not a DT member, so that damn user didn't target me for that weird PM.  Cheesy
I have not received the PM yet which means I am not in DT too 😉? My bet, the user is targeting people with some other criteria not just a DT.

2824  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nitrogensports (Nitrobetting) are scamming, beware. on: July 07, 2022, 05:22:46 PM
Okay, so they banned my account and reset my balance to 0, but then over the time i've accumulated some money through my affiliate earnings which they refuse to pay me out as well.
You can have problem with any casino anytime. Nitrogen sports should have a story from their side too. We would like to hear it. Have you deposited any money with them? If you do then please feel free to post any transaction ID. I have seen in many cases casino offers to return the deposit.
2825  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1xbit SCAMMED MY 6500 USD on: July 07, 2022, 02:57:39 PM
All the victims should form a group and launch a class suit, 1XBIT have huge money to advertise and pay people they can continue to do what they are doing.
Unfortunately it seems not realistic to me. The only possible way will be someone to start a massive campaign against them. It will obviously need a fund. Someone who is responsible and trusted can monitor the campaign / project. But I do not think anyone will be much interest to do so, even a lot of gamblers are fine to lose their hard earned money.
2826  Other / Meta / Re: weird pm received on: July 07, 2022, 10:03:38 AM
Check the username. Does it remind you the user alia? A girl back in 2017 - 2018. She was having everyone's attention. Then caught on planning for scam before resting in peace. Someone is having fun.

You are not the only one. Just "Report to Admin" the PM and they will take care of this.
I do not see she is ban yet.
2827  Other / Meta / Re: Curious Question about Meriting on: July 06, 2022, 10:58:01 PM
When I first joined this forum back in 2011, tipping with Bitcoin was fairly common.  I've both sent and received many tips for Bitcoin posts.  Before everyone had signature campaigns littering their signatures, users used to place their Bitcoin address.  It wasn't as stingy as only tipping people who helped educate you either.  I've sent and received bitcoins for funny jokes, or just thanks for being a grounded person.  Over the years we saw less and less tipping, and now it is basically nonexistent.  I think the rising transaction costs with the block wars pretty much brought an end to tipping.  Back near the end of 2011, you could tip someone a BTC with no transaction fee and it was a $2 cost.  By the end of 2017, you'd have paid a $75 transaction fee just to tip a satoshi.  Hence why Bitcoin went from being billed as a p2p currency to a store of value.  Now nobody sends each other anything, but number go up.
Let's create an ICO and make all these merits tokens. Let's have an open marketplace to exchange your merit for bitcoin. 🤣

Back in the days Bitcoin did not have the value it has now. It was fun to send and receive bitcoin. Now it is serious money and no one wants to give it for free. Gavin Andresen had a captcha solving site and you could earn as much as 5 btc from the faucet LOL
It was easy to get bitcoin back then.
2828  Other / Meta / Re: Guest safety on: July 06, 2022, 10:46:27 PM
Guests and visitors are not the entire www.
You took it too seriously. I don't think even Facebook reached to the entire world wide web even though these days internet means having a Facebook account. Every website has their targeted audience and community. What I wanted to say that we do not need to take care of visitors who are not our members. A guest could be anyone. We do not know their interest. This is an open discussion place. Anyone who has interest in Bitcoin can see discussions about bitcoin and related topics without even registration.

If anyone needs to know about a service then they can go to the places which were designed to get information. There are review sites, resolution sites who are providing specific service to the visitors. Let them go there. We do not need gamblers to check the users rating, we need bitcoin enthusiast.

users with the signature will not have any flags or warnings about them promoting a scam project.
We accept it. To adopt with the system you can create flags against those users who are advertising the scam. If there are no scope to create a flag then let it go. We are giving too much attention to some scammers.

I am convinced that the majority victims of 1xbit are not members of this forum. I came to this conclusion because even if you spend only but a week in this forum, you should be able to know that 1xbit is a scam company.
The majority users who get scammed by 1xbit do not even know about the forum until they get scammed and try to find a place to compliant.
2829  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bounty manager JerZei : starts a new bounty campaign about the scam Partyland on: July 06, 2022, 08:45:31 PM
The Bounty manager has been alerted about this scam and the scam accusation topic has been sent to him so he can cancel the campaign. But he decided despite all the proofs to keep it running after deleting the messages proving it's a scam.

Very unprofessional bounty manager. I don't advice anyone to deal with.
A brand new copper member which means this is not a BM who has experience of work and regularly launching bounty campaigns. Most possibly this is one of their internal employee who decided to create an account and started the bounty.

In both case, hunters should stop participating in their campaigns. But they still are even when they are aware of the problem..
The hunters are not even reading the forum. They post proof of authentication and start shilling in social media.
2830  Economy / Reputation / Re: Announce your rank up, merit or any achievements that makes you feel great! on: July 06, 2022, 02:03:27 PM
well I got the name during my NYSC camping, and ever since then I stick to it because I really like the name. Then when I wanted registering I just feel like to use it, Hope the bigdaddy you know doesn't remind you of any bad thing.
Nothing wrong with Big Daddy. My memory is telling me we had a user name "Big Daddy". I did some forum search too to find him. I was sure I was going to find from the search very easily. But the search result brought me "big_daddy" which I was not expecting.

I sent a PM to the user.
hey brother,
Are you the same guys who is Big Daddy on the poker series we used to play? Your username seems changed or I have lost some part of my memory LOL

It's confusing because on the Poker thread a lot of us were also mentioning him as Big Daddy. I am expecting him to change his username to big_daddy.
You will find it in this sheet : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oMSdjVzxPn_RxaujN0a---hv8gL274Kk4-wSdLEtIM8/edit#gid=0
2831  Other / Meta / Re: Guest safety on: July 06, 2022, 01:41:33 PM
Why are people that do not register on this forum not seeing the positive, neutral and negative trust of registered users on this forum when they are able to see their signature and avatar?
I certainly do not understand why, and I'll prefer that guests do not see signatures or avatars as well, except maybe, the forum ad.
We are pressing it too hard.
This is a forum. Not a review site nor a scam hunting site or a site who separate wrong from right on the internet.
It is just a forum. Flag, trust score etc are just some features to help the community members. We do not need to care about the entire world wide web ☺️

Trust score helps only when a user wants to trade with another user. It's visible on reputation, service such type of boards. The flag works the same and it's absolutely fine for me.

But if anyone puts a gun on my head and ask give me idea to improve then I will be telling the following.
For flag I can think of the same warning on the user's profile page.
On the profile we can show the default trust score.
Anyone interested to check more, then let them register.
2832  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is it trust system abuse to increase Trust Score by Dabs? on: July 06, 2022, 10:34:04 AM
If anyone is at fault then it's Debs.
Dabs Smiley

If anyone is here need a "~" then it will be Debs.
Dabs Tongue
I'm curious what made you include Dabs last week.
Fuck Debs, okay Dabs 🤣
Last week I added and removed (~) some users. It was only usual adding and removing. So nothing I had in mind to explain for Dabs. I am not a regular trust setting checker, I do it very occasionally.

Edit: Upgraded my memory from Debs to Dabs 🤣
2833  Other / Meta / Re: Knowing Which Gender is the Most on The Bitcointalk Forum on: July 06, 2022, 10:19:40 AM
What do you think about me 🤣
Maybe it's not just me but maybe there are other members who feel the same heat.
Feel the same heat, what do you mean LOL

Don't you have enough with Pornhub? It's not that porn sites are not accessible these days. 😉

Anyway, bitcoin does not have a gender. It's same for everyone. So we do not care to share our gender.

are you curious too?
Not at all. These characters around me are bitcoiners. This is enough for me.
2834  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is it trust system abuse to increase Trust Score by Dabs? on: July 06, 2022, 09:18:48 AM
Way too much work.  Besides, Dabs has been informed about this issue before, and he's well aware that most people find his use of the trust system objectionable.  If he's going to keep padding his inclusions just to make his trust score higher, he's the one that should be excluded.  Who knows, one of those account could turn out to be a really good person to have on DT, but without giving them the chance we may never know.  I would rather exclude those who are misusing the system than those who are coincidentally included by a self-scratcher.
If anyone is at fault then it's Dabs. Not these users.
Assuming Debs knowingly added this users in his trust setting after seeing their feedback for him. If his intention was higher up his green ratings then this is an abuse. If he thought these users should be in DT because they can provide good contribution to the system then it's not abuse. Problem, we do not know his intention, we will never too.

If anyone is here need a "~" then it will be Debs.

I know Dabs from WO and I would like some statements from him about it.

That wasn't my reasoning for starting that poll and making that suggestion, but yes, that would indeed make it much harder for trust system self-scratchers to pad their scores.
It does not matter what was your reasoning but this is a very good example of improving the current scoring system.
2835  Economy / Reputation / Re: Announce your rank up, merit or any achievements that makes you feel great! on: July 06, 2022, 09:07:02 AM
A very big congratulations to me, not because I reached the member rank but because of the knowledge I have acquired so far on this forum and also I have been able to contribute to the forum with the little I have. I am so glad I came across this tread and I really wish to get to the top and also contribute to the forum in any way I can. Thanks you guys for your support.
Congratulations, you have a long way to go. Member, Full Member, Sr. Member, Hero and finally Legendary. You also need to chase the activity which updates every 14 days. So to reach to the Legendary rank you are looking at nearly two years. Your username reminds me the user Big Daddy. Have you seen the username before or it was something you considered to use when you registered.
2836  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1xbit SCAMMED MY 6500 USD on: July 06, 2022, 08:52:04 AM
If I decide to deposit an amount as high as 4k$ I at least check if the site is legit.

The smallest search would let alarm bells ring like crazy.
When you see a brand everywhere for years, you start to trust it. You do not feel to do much research. 1xbit is everywhere. I have no idea how they get it even in on ground display board in football matches. Having your brand in on ground display costs several hundred thousand USD. It's not only the money, you need to provide them legal papers too. But 1xBit is doing it from months and years.

The forum, ask gambler or any other website can not harm them much. I think the victims need to take them in the court and the legal authority help to shut the site down. Only then we will not see anymore victim from them.
2837  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1xbit is a scam betting site, DO NOT ENTER!! on: July 06, 2022, 08:16:27 AM
@Bradtl Lua You should at least contact their support and ask them why you aren't allowed to withdraw to see what excuse they come up with.
It will be completely a bad use of time considering the reputation 1xbit created over the years. They will not care to give any explanation. A day ago we had another scam accusation and the user did not get any good explanation from them.

It's very sad to see almost everyday we have people who are scammed by 1xbet. Imagine the real number. Not many internet user know about this forum and think to share it.

This is what they do. They hate winners on their casino.
I don't think any casino likes to pay their winners 🤣
2838  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally, I Bought Something With Full Payment In Bitcoin. on: July 06, 2022, 08:08:09 AM
Nice!  If this helps better your life it is no doubt a great purchase.  I nearly made a similar purchase back in 2015 (or somewhere around there).  A member of this forum had a Harley for sale and I wanted it so I made an offer.  I believe he was asking somewhere around 75 BTC and I offered 69 BTC for it.  We haggled a little bit but eventually couldn't come to a deal.  This year I purchased an all electric motorcycle (Sondors Metacycle) for around 0.08 BTC.  I'm glad I got lucky and was able to dodge a bullet there.
Price down from 75 to 0.08 🤣
But I think in 2015 it was the reality to spend 75 BTC. You could spend the btc and buy them back with the cash you had. But not buying it was of course a good decision. Right now I would not mind paying a dealer using crypto. But I will not touch my cold wallet. I will buy crypto first with the cash, then will pay.

If I was in OP's situation then I would pay the dealer because of all issues with the bank. Close the deal first then I would buy bitcoin back the bitcoin without waiting for another hour.

<snip>
Congratulations brother. It's heart warming 😘
2839  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can a non technical newbie can learn about bitcoin? on: July 06, 2022, 07:27:53 AM
Hello, I am a nontechnical newbie with medical background. My coding or computer education is almost nil. I want to learn about bitcoin and everything in crypto. What are the suitable resources I can follow?

Thanks in advance..
You do not need to read many books, learn many computer language or anything at all. Do only two things.
a. Read the whitepaper and read it a way that you understand the 9 page file.
b. Learn how to create a wallet and secure it.

Take it simple. You do not lean how money was created, who control money, what paper it needs, what printer, what other material to create money. You only see money, have it to you, keep it in bank, spend it. Simple. Bitcoin is the same simple.
2840  Other / Meta / Re: Update of Information on Aventus on: July 06, 2022, 07:14:46 AM
Looking forward to your reply
The only realistic job I can imagine now is to create a new announcement and link the old locked thread. People will be able to see the old ANN. You can write a little explanation.

As you already know now, without providing proof of ownership you can not recover the account.
