With six v3 H-boards, an AntMiner S1, and a couple of BFL Jalapeņos, I'm getting about 375 GH/s.

you could be doing a bit better. 6 H-boards with some small pencil modding can give you ~34*6= 204GH + 197GH for an antminer running at 387.5Mhz = 401GH

its worth squeezing a little more out while the difficulty is low

Yeah mine are on that same gawd damn plane! I wonder if I ring up UPS and try to explain how many bitcoins i'm ganna miss out on they may reimburse me?  Grin

good luck. when they shafted me three days in a row by not putting it for pickup and instead sending it for delivery attempts that never take/took place (9:45pm? seriously) on some of the first auctions they did not care one ounce.
2824  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year on: January 23, 2014, 04:33:26 PM
Please Bitmain,
Could you tell us last day possible for purchases and shipments of Antminers within 25th ?

you would need to order today i imagine. the 25th in china is basically friday night in north america
2825  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year on: January 23, 2014, 03:07:56 PM
WHAT IS GOING ON BITAIN?Huh
your communication sucks. you cannot even give out a tracking number for a 2 day express box before it arrives or gets delayed!

You cannot even be honest with me! You tell me UPS tried to contact me, this was bull and you had the cheek to say i was being dishonest with you!!! Why tell me UPS tried to contact me when in fact they had not?

Why sushi always telling me this was getting dealt with, then when i speak to you i get different story......
where is my refund?Huh??

calm down. re-quoting yourself a dozen times adds absolutely no value to your complaint. none at all - in fact some people put you on ignore now.

I would no be surprised if the UPS told bitmain they would/did try to reach you. Ive had several experiences where they say they will call back within an hour and a day goes by without a call.

Bitmain just gave me 2 tracking numbers for packages that should deliver today. no word on the third tracking number, but i was told the package should be with the others (still waiting on the number though to make tracking/pickup easier). screaming for a refund is probably not a realistic request if the packages are already halfway to you, but you just dont have a tracking #
2826  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year on: January 23, 2014, 03:03:09 PM
nah thats bullshit, ive seen that again & again. its just a standard excuse (blame game) that no-one has proven fake yet

yes, logged into it. adjusted the pool data etc. but nothing is coming out on the pool

so what is the problem? It sounds like the antminer is powered on and you can access it...
2827  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [In Talks] Klondike Mining Collective - Toronto, Ontario Mining Facility on: January 23, 2014, 06:21:12 AM
As this project begins to seem clearer in my eyes - it appears two distinct sides must arise: miner colocation ('collective') services for hosting the equipment of existing miners; and a mining farm backed by a few investors with clearly set out contracts for agreement on sunk costs (initial equipment like racks and networking), equipment type, location, and defining the 'profitable lifetime' for equipment (based on the ratio of [mining income]/[power/rent/upkeep costs]).

With asic power requirements rising i think there could soon be an opportunity to have very profitable machines as long as you can supply enough power to them - and in my mind making the commitment to a larger facility makes more sense considering that >20kW will soon be a minimum necessity for larger mining clusters or 3kW KNC devices

In my mind, I hope to have a few locations scouted out by mid-february, and actually start a rental contract for March 1st - by which point 6BTC/Terrahash/kW will be the market price for 28nm and 4BTC/Terrahash/2kW for 55nm. With a few investors it could be quite profitable to control a 10-25 Terrahash mine with clearly defined agreements on equipment type, monthly costs  including power, and some definition of the anticipated lifespan for profitable operation and/or re-sales. (I can tell you that there is a large local market that will pay 30-50% over market price for in-hand ASICs)

If a commercial power rate can be negotiated, it could allow hosting options (including power) to be competitively priced in comparison with mining-at-home on residential rates

I am still looking for input- everytime a question is asked, a suggestion is made, or someone looking to be involved reaches out- the project becomes a little closer to a reality

I have a question about the pool contributors and I am not trying to be troll or stir up a shitstorm. There is one contributor that tops the chart and takes 20% of the earnings every round. Does this not hurt everyone else? Or is it helping everyone else? Would the pool be significantly hurt without them or would everyone's shares and payouts go up without them. It would seem logical that everyone would see a jump in earnings without them. Remember it's just a question not any accusation. Thanks

That's actually a good and genuine question. And Baddw gave a great answer.

they are paid 20% for 20% of the pool's hashrate. without them your income would be the same but with higher varience

I hate to muck up this thread but, is it a TOTAL NO NO to use the cx600m to power an OCed antminer s1 with the included pci-e connection? Thanks.

+1

My opinion is is that using one cable with 2 connectors to power an OCed antminer is not recommended, because that is up to 48Amps per 3x12V circuits = 16Amps per circuit, which is a lot for an 18AWG cable I believe.

But if you use 2 cables, that should be OK = then only 8Amps per cable.

Btw am I correct with my numbers, specifically the max OC current being 48Amps? What is the max overclock of these in terms of chip Mhz and GH/s?
CX600M might not be enough then?

snip theheads off the 4-pin ATX mobo cables. I ran an overclocked antminer using 2 pairs of 12V line from the ATX for each blade (wires did get a bit warm but not dangerously). Using just a sinlge PCI-e for both blades will be a problem and danger though

So you are using all the 4 yellow cables from this connector: 2 per blade, correct?

I will probably use the already present PCI-E cable that has 3x 12V circuits for 1 blade and the 8 pin CPU connector, which has 4x 12V circuits for the other blade.

exactly Smiley  its for the antminers prior to pci ports. with the ports, using pci for one blade and the atx mobo tips in the picture for the other is perfect
2830  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Bitmain AntMiner U1 Tips & Tricks on: January 23, 2014, 03:24:36 AM

I have the same hub - 3.5A runs 5 antminers at 1.8GH each.
just added a 6th and am testing with 2.0GH - seems like it wont work though as only 3 detect and the rest throw port detection errors

Anyone think it is ok to run the whole antminer off one PCI-E cable? I ordered a power supply I thought was coming with two PCI-E cables, but it just has 1 with two PCI-E connectors on it. Don't want to melt the cable...

Anyone suggest a decent cheap 80 plus Bronze or better PSU with two PCI-E cables?

1 PCI-E cable is just fine. I have 4 miners running for over a month each on a single pci-e rail. Alternatively you can power each blade with its own PSU. It draws even less W that way and you can go pretty cheap.

bad idea - 400W on a single pci-e plug may cause fires and melting on some cheap PSUs

snip the 4-pin head off the ATX mobo plug and you will have 2 more pairs of 12V wire to use

So would the people who place in their rigs for you to host be able to run their rigs on the pools they so choose? Though I think the idea of having all of them on one pool hosted by you guys would be an incredible idea down the road when you build a name for yourselves.

At the moment I am working on building up my Bitcoin wallet, coming slowly, but my investments are clear. Though this idea is incredibly intriguing and I would love to be a part of it somehow. Eventually when I can make a contribution that's actually worth something, I would invest and or offer a rig. For now, I'll just marvel at the idea till I can make a decent contribution.

yeah that likely wouldnt be an issue. It would take at least 20TH of equipment for a private pool to make much sense, likely far more

I will be at the Toronto Bitcoin meetup tonight to try and network if anyone here is looking to connect Smiley

also id like to see a pic of a single PSU powering 2 S1 rigs if anyone has an image they can share

How about a photo of a Corsair AX 1200 powering two S1's and an Erupter Cube ?

how are the antminers sitting on that metal rack? is the 'frame' placed right on the rak rails, or do the PCBs suport the weight (and not ground out) on the metal bars?

Guys stupid question here:

I do still need to do the jumper wire / paperclip trick even if my miner has the PCI-E connector plugs right?

I have the proper PSU plugs if any one wants them

i have paperclips and short 3mm lengths of wire if anyone wants them!

3 orders (2014-01-19 21:05:45,   2014-01-19 19:51:42,   2014-01-19 15:35:07) have no shipping cponfirmation yet. Im hoping bitmain has them in the mail and just hasnt yet passed on the tracking info (in the past, i often got the info 12hrs after the boxes were received by UPS, if not already out of the country)

crossing my fingers they come this week, but without a tracking number soon I just dont know

Your temps don't look right....might be the calibration on the interface or it might be giving you good data.

Is your fan spinning?  What is the ambient temperature?  What kind of PSU are your running?
What is on 47-48 C not right?

Mine is running between 40-43

I get 45-48 at stock speeds on some units and 43-46 on others. I generally overclock to whatever speed keeps the temps in the 50-53 range (387 or 400 on most units)

Don't worry about the bet, I'm just making a point that you cannot back up your mouth with actual money. But maybe you are so extremely out of touch that you believe that statement to be true.

As far as your Terrahash jab, do you really think $30,000 in USD matters when I've made over 650 BTC from mining with KnC?

Let me know when you want to play catch up with me.

Bargraphics:
Backing your idiocy with coin is cute in a boyish sort of way,  It has a charm that's absolutely adored by certain confirmed bachelors and aging Hoboken housewives.
But here, in a forum all about money, it lacks a certain ... je ne sais quoi.

so because one brand thats not the topic of this thread made a profit, a $30,000 loss is negligible?

fools and thier money
2839  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: January 22, 2014, 03:13:21 AM
anyone tried to run 4 of them on one LEPA 1600W?
I can barely get three of them to run non overclocked on a 1500W enermax split between 5 rails, but I'm sure they could push to the limit if I tried, my power constraints are at the ceiling now.

Nice setup you have there. I would like to get 20 of these running. Getting an electrician in to get things ready first. Hopefully they drop in price even more in the mean time.
Hey is there any way to run like a bunch of these off something different than a psu?

They use 12V DC - so you need some power converter/supply. Server PSUs can provide lots of efficient 12V power for cheap. $5 for a 835W PSU, $10 of wire/solder/heatshrink, 30minutes of my time, and I have 835W over fat 14AWG cables meaning only one wire pair per blade
