2821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Bitcoin CBDC on: September 28, 2022, 05:35:54 AM
No, it is not a question is silly. In my country, the government already rolled out its own digital currency/CBDC called e-naira. I do not own any of it. And it is not mandatory to use it for purchase of items. On the other hand, people still buy Bitcoin via P2P as despite the ban on cryptocurrency transactions last year by the government.  I have yet to come across a CBDC owner. So yeah the CBDC and buying bitcoin are two parallels.

Why did you not own a CBDC wallet? I bet they will allow buying BTC but of course not privately. Since users can deposit e-naira to the p2p platform, I guess that's how they also monitor for now the users buying BTC.

It's surprising that Nigeria has CBDC but most countries today have none.  The bank bills are still being used but they may gradually illuminate certain bills in circulation.
2822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Parents And Their Children In Gambling.. on: September 28, 2022, 04:57:05 AM

With so much richness, it's hard to see thier kids not spending what they have. If they saw thier father spend more than $50k a night, it's not going to be a problem for them. The less fortunate as trying to earn more money and the most privileged trying to spend more money. Marcus is lucky to have a father who can provide everything.
2823  Economy / Economics / Re: The economic effect of people flying from RF mandatory conscription on: September 28, 2022, 04:02:23 AM
The news that is now showing hundreds of Russian guys fleeing their country to avoid mobilization is overblown. Although I am aware that many young men have arrived in my country in recent days, this is a negligible proportion. Polls show that these are people who are engaged in IT technologies, and just by staying in another country, they will not change anything for themselves. While working remotely, they still continue to work in Russia.
Among other things, Russia should have the composition of its army, and, frankly, I don’t understand why civilians are mobilized when the number of military and trained people is huge.
As for the impact on the economy, I doubt that those who leave will be able to influence it in any way.

I see, I guess you are still wearing your blinder.

Yes, Its not overblown that Russian Youtubers are not fleeing your country and all of the videos by shared by multiple Russian people are a hoax. Also the amount of trolls on reddit was significantly reduced when the mobilization was announced.

I don’t understand why civilians are mobilized when the number of military and trained people is huge.
Are you still relying on your media to discern why Putin is mobilizing citizens?

Any general would not risk young men to just give them riffles, train them for about 2 weeks and then put them on the frontline. That would be a suicide which is not logical for a Russian general to do that.

The conscription is for people who had been trained in military services before and are put into different departments like for Fire Department or Disaster Rescue Department. They are probably reporting to the military once a month, they are not civilians. If civilians are fleeing, they'd be putting themselves in danger. Not all countries, welcome refugees with hospitality.

2824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chinese version of Metaverse will be great for meta casinos. on: September 28, 2022, 03:47:48 AM

It will be like Mobile phones which were not very common back in the 90s and then suddenly become very cheap because technology is adopted.
Alibaba producing VR equipment will make the adoption of Meta down our doorstep and the more it will be fast since we all are just used to the internet already.

The downside is that generations will all gonna be couch potatoes just sitting all day long eating chips.
2825  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you invest in micro cap altcoins? on: September 27, 2022, 04:11:56 AM
~
Be interesting to hear who is for and against micro cap altcoins?

If you own any what is your plan with them and if not why do you not believe in them?
I tried once and didn't do it again.
It was SAFEMOON where I put only $20 to buy it. At first it went pretty well and I'm having some good profits just by holding it but after few days, it went down and down until my initial money lost a huge percentage of it. In the end, my $20 initial capital at that time went to $3 and I will never, ever invest into low marketcap coins again.

Plans with them? When I invested, I have no plans but to sell it when it will pump because that's what investor's reason is that's why they are investing into low marketcap coins. They are hoping that one day, it will pump 10-20x then they will sell but this only happens a few times and you don't know which coins will pump. Investing in low marketcap coins is like gambling to me where there is a high chance that you will lose your money.

For me, I'd rather focus on the top 20 coins base on market cap but if you really want to invest into low marketcap coins then you can but don't expect too much because most of the time, you will lose money investing to these altcoins.

Safemoon was hyped by influencers at the time when SHIB was also hyped by Robinhood and other big exchanges, which is why it didn't get success as it's overshadowed by SHIB hype. Plus there are many bloggers also telling it's more of a scam by the name itself.

I'm always on the lookout for tokens that were hyped by big influencers because it's easy money but at the same time also limits the risk. If I am too early in investing in a hyped token, I'd just go for $200-300. Lesson learned is worth it while just losing a small amount.
2826  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of Russian and Ukrain war on world economy on: September 27, 2022, 02:51:51 AM

Putin was way out of his mind by deciding to invade Ukraine without taking into consideration the consequences of doing so. Not only did he destroyed Russia's credibility and economy, but he also disrupted the current world order. COVID-19 already had a negative effect over supply chains and the global economy, but the invasion made matters worse. Putin won't back down anytime soon especially when his political future is at stake. Giving up on the war now, would mean Putin's regime has weakened.

I'm afraid the world economy will continue to decline until there's no point for recovery. That is unless Europe and the US become self-sufficient from gas and energy reserves. EU should turn its attention to alternative energy sources, while the US should ramp up oil production instead of importing it from other countries. If they do that, most of the world's problems would be solved. Let's hope we see the light at the end of the tunnel by 2023. Just my opinion Smiley
Everyone hopes that the economy will recover quickly. And also hope Russia and Ukraine make peace. but it seems it will be very difficult to achieve in the near future. I even recently read the news about a statement from Putin that was broadcast on television. the bottom line is that the war will not end any time soon. it even seems that in Russia there will be conscription. I don't know exactly when. but it looks like the google search keyword 'How to Leave Russia' has improved a lot. and airline tickets for flights out of Russia became sold out. which indicates that many Russian citizens want to leave Russia. whether it was to avoid a military call or for some other reason. I do not know. but the search keyword on google 'How to Leave Russia' is trending, so I think there's a reason.
For more details you can read on the following news site. :
https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/flights-out-russia-sell-out-after-putin-orders-partial-call-up-2022-09-21/

We must be prepared with all possibilities that will happen in 2023. because the impact of war on the global economy will clearly be felt. Let's pray the best for all of us.
We pray that the situation doesn't get worse with Putin using nuclear power just because he has become upset since his forces were kicked out from the north of Ukraine. Russian citizens are afraid to be used as cannon fodder by Putin's regime, so they are leaving the country and the big centers. Nobody wants to fight and die in a worthless war which has as goal to stroke a psychopath's ego.

But in case nuclear weapons start being used, I'm afraid there won't be even an economy to care about.

It's just one more push we could have a nuclear war. This is close to an ultimatum also. Soo drunk to power I guess but because he is not bluffing, he could launch one. The terrifying effect of it is that because one drunkard launches his nuclear weapon, every country that has this kind of weapon will also be alarmed and activate protect themselves against their hostile neighbors.

And I'm not Blurfing!!! - Putin.

If EU is serious in not escalating, everyone will also be tiptoeing before it blast into a full-scale war. It feels like there is no declarative statement from US or EU telling it eye to eye to the camera to the public saying this is what we are facing, this is what we do and we are going to talk. Not just a bunch of rhetoric on tv that Putin did this bad and do this worse.
2827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Casino Licenses on: September 27, 2022, 12:48:14 AM
You need a license to legally serve gambling products to some jurisdictions like the UK and the US.

You don't need one if you open a casino in a territory that doesn't require you to have one (I think a lot do though) and serve countries that don't need you to be licensed there in order to operate. Just search if you need one for your country.

But if your players are from other countries that are regulated, you will need to block these countries right?

By doing this, they will have limited patrons. Been meaning to ask also when you want to create a casino but have a low budget for it. It would need a lot of money. How will one acquire a license upon creating a casino without going to Curacao?
2828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Online casino/gambling projects on: September 27, 2022, 12:28:49 AM
Also what are the things that kills such project because even one or two survived for long I don't see many alive till now, they fail easily or turn scam later.

Some legit gambling sites here before are making their announcement that they will now close. In their farewell statement, they are including some of the possible reasons although we don't know if that's true.

However, it's a good characteristic that they are doing a good farewell statement instead of doing an exit surprise scam.

If I have time I can search those threads for you.

It's always assumed they are not making money out of it. Casino in crypto is competing with each other to emerge on top. Some of those who closed or just disappear is because they've got some scam accusations or not really earning.

There are honest casinos who actually announce on they are closing, you can just comment farewell though you have not tried them. The not so honest scam users first before shutdown without notice.
2829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Reputation on: September 27, 2022, 12:18:56 AM
I think it all depends on what type of person you are as well as what type of people you’re around. If you’re a good, professional person who treats people well, has a good home life or takes care of their family, I don’t think people will judge you either way unless there’s something wrong with them that makes them judgmental towards you despite having never given them any reason to do so.

When people become judgemental to you that means they've already known you or just judged you physically. When they've not known you, people ask what you do in life, and you become important and have high respect for knowing what your profession is.

They will not mind it if you are gambling when you still have success but once you lose success, lose your car, lose your family that's when you get to be judged terribly.
2830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My worst day in gambling on: September 25, 2022, 10:23:33 PM
So how did you pay for school fees? Can't wait to hear what your parents said.

The time when you are winning you sometimes forget that you won't be losing anymore because of the huge wins in the beginning.
In the offline casino, the dealer is just not amused when you stop betting after a huge win. And when you continue, where you won't notice they are gone after just a few lost bets.

2831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 25, 2022, 09:37:51 AM

^ Anyone with fair eyes can see who wins in the Taylor-Serrano fight, it really is disappointing for Serrano's side when it's clearly a fight she owned. If this is the way to prove what Jake Paul is saying is true then he does have the chance to win it. But definitely, this is not what a court would accept as evidence.

$100M seems too much for Defamation.
2832  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum drop gets me worried. on: September 25, 2022, 08:33:48 AM

It was hyped that ETH will soar high after the merge. But because this POS made ETH a target by SEC, it's going to take a lot of attack from SEC just like XRP which will make investors panic more and the price goes deeper. Since all crypto prices are also linked to BTC price, all crypto is dependent and waiting for halving which there are 2 more years before it.
2833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i get banned for Card Counting in online casinos? on: September 24, 2022, 02:37:56 PM

there were issues with the countbing cards in the past. anyone can do it. the rainmaker movie for instance is just one example but the casino admin just let it go because they can't just do anything about it because the person involved is a family member.

there were issues with the countbing cards but I guess it's something that they couldn't just pin. it possible to get banned. depending to the casino.
2834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: What are the most developing play to earn games right now on: September 24, 2022, 02:46:12 AM

Here is a list of play to earn games https://dappradar.com/rankings/category/games

Surprisingly Axie infinity is not actually the first on the list. Every platform like Polygon, WAX, BNB Chain, ETH, EOS has its own play to earn. Alien Worlds is at the very top of this rank. Not sure why and Axie is in the 8th position. Hard to find out whether there is really a real community of the games.
2835  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Partial Adoption of Cryptocurrency (Bitcoin/Litecoin) by China Court on: September 24, 2022, 02:24:21 AM
This is great and encouraging news for the crypto community, as the china market is a huge market which all are looking forward to having them open wide doors for crypto. And rest assured that in time all countries will adopt crypto because it is a technology of necessity
This is how China works, they keep on banning cryptocurrency and later on they will amend some of those rules to partially accept cryptocurrency, this is not new anymore. Though despite of the ban, many Chinese people are still doing their crypto activities and I see some date that China is still one of the largest community for Cryptocurrency. This is a good news for them and honestly, the market for China is huge and if this will take effect, this can bring positive impact in the whole market.

It must be very positive because the very large population of China is a big market and indeed it seems like China only wants to play 2 feet and is more inclined to control because I don't think anyone will be able to stem the development of crypto

It's been speculated in the past already that they might allow trading or even mining BTC if their economy is threatened. BTC will still help them after all Russia also demanded not just ruble for international payment for their gas but also BTC.

China can be predictable already but this country's approval can be compared to the one country two systems policy. They may not allow on the mainland but only in Hongkong or Singapore.

2836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chinese version of Metaverse will be great for meta casinos. on: September 24, 2022, 01:48:18 AM

Well, the Chinese are known to make enormous projects like the Great Wall of China that still stands today. 5G alone proves it. The projects they build in China is very surprising actually, you wouldn't believe no one mentioned it around your circle like the Observatory Telescope to watch the space they build so wide no one on earth has it.

Lately, My personal opinion on Metaverses as an industry and business model has changed and switched negatively, because it seems it is an excuse for big (and fairly shady) comparations like Facebook/Meta to charge for NFTs transactions and other features, taking advantages of content creators.

In the case of a Chinese Metaverse, I am afraid it would be more dystopian and shady, because the CCP already embraces a policy of massive surveillance over their population and other abuses, at least in USA and Europe there are laws which are supposedly there to protect costumers and people in general, in China it is different.

I would not be surprised if the social credit of the individuals there could get affected depending on their activities on Metaverse Casinos.

Using VR actually makes more sense than using Facebook for the metaverse. I think if there is also a VR device producer in India or Mexico, anywhere in the world can just use the VR to connect to the metaverse they are building. All you need is a connection, going into the stores or establishments in the metaverse I guess is where you will need registration.
2837  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin or Netcoin ? on: September 24, 2022, 01:30:35 AM

It's too coincidental for this to happen. Assuming it's Satoshi who registered these domains. It's really possible to trace him with the information from the registrar because during that time, even if you want it to be anonymous the registrar will still need your data.

Would you say that BTC is planned not just by Satoshi alone, someone must have advised him what to name right?
2838  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 24, 2022, 12:56:49 AM

Somehow I think Adesanya and Pereira fight is not going to go full distance. Probably it will last for 1 or 2 rounds only. Reason - I think Pereira is not quite ready for MMA fights, I think he has not much experience of how much strength and stamina fighting at the fence or on the ground take and how much should be saved. Cant explain why, but I think Pereira is going to rush in this fight.

For me, it will go the distance and it is a win for Israel Adesanya, I know Adesanya is quite cocky and nobody likes his fighting style but apparently, this will surely be saving his skin, for me, I think that Izzy has already learned from that Jan Blachowicz fight, and that he can sure win this match if the fight go the distance, and a definitely for me  Izzy might take the high attitude but he would surely have a hard time on this and it will be going to be an easy fight.

Experience-wise, I agree, Adesanya has the upper hand. But as notblox1 said, the cockiness might get the better of him. That is a chance Pereira should take like how Weidman defeated the Spider Silva because of playing too much in the octagon. Being a champion for long has that weakness of overconfidence while the opponent is hungry to snatch the belt from him.

Both are standing-style fighters, take down defense is high. Will Pereira try to mix it up by training for a takedown and play it on the mat or will he just try the same kickboxing style?

I think Pereira will still go for the old approach the one that ends up with Israel Adesanya in their kickboxing match and this kind of punch was the one that is haunting Adesanya, but if Alex Pereira would have trained for a takedown and wrestling then for me I would definitely go with Alex Pereira, but it can not happen in a short moment of time, and if Israel Adesanya would not let his emotion surpasses him then he might lose this, but I am still going with Izzy here,

And just in Kevin Holland retires??? from sports and searched for a new career and posted on his Instagram and shockingly retired before hitting 30 years old, but before this, he is talking about being a champion and correcting all the mistakes he is been doing inside the octagon and now he is then retiring but I think he is asking something from the UFC and he doesn't get it, because he posted a Daniel Rodriguez VS Neil Magny fight that is happening October 15, I think he might be asking for a Niel Magny fight, but I guess Li Jingliang should also be upset in this fight aswell because he didn't get that rematch he deserves, for me, Li Jingliang was the one constantly screwed here,

Everybody is searching for new careers nowadays but combat sports from Floyd's exhibition spree. Like Nate wanting to fight with Jake Paul. Everybody's turning to exhibitions like Anderson vs Fedor Emelianenko.

Holland retirement is too early for his career, he can do a lot in sports so he might be famous for short-term notice. If Dana White needs someone to fight that very moment, he can call Kevin.

2839  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is anyone buying right now because they think we are at or close to the bottom? on: September 23, 2022, 02:17:33 AM

There must be someone out there willing to risk thinking this is the bottom of the bear. The price holds for a long time in this range actually so there is a chance that this could be the bottom.

The weekly chart shows it's at the bottom. The alarming part is what is happening to parts of the world like there in Russia, US, EU, and China because anything that will suddenly happens can affect investments.
2840  Economy / Gambling / Re: Euphoriabet.io NO KYC Crypto Esports Betting and Roulette on: September 23, 2022, 02:12:32 AM

Okay. We are already confused about the No KYC so we're out!  Cheesy
But ohh my gooood they offer 100% bonus up to 250USD. That's good.  There are willing users who would try that. It's still worth risking depending on their personality.

Thanks for saving me time to read about their ToS because it's clearly misleading to see "No KYC" in the OP.

In any case, we have another casinos here, and the competition is going to be tough for new ones because some casinos have established themselves.

Nevertheless, it will be a challenge to the new ones like Euphoriabet.io. Although they are more focused on Esports and I don't think majority here are into it.

True true. Esports is not very popular in this forum,  this must work when promoted in the gamer's platform.
