Looking at the statistics I think Schalke rely on counter-attacking games, implementing this strategy will certainly be a blunder if it doesn't match the squad they have and the coach should consider this. While his opponent (Hamburger SV) made 14 shots and 6 shots on goal. Even if Koeman finds a way to give Griezman the room he needs to enfold his potential, he isn't the Griezman he used to be at Atletico Madrid anymore. When he played for Atletico he was an absolute world class striker. His strength was that he almost never missed a chance. It was impressive how he kept his coolness again and again. When you watch him at Barcelona now all of that coolness is gone. He isn't even average more in my opinion.
He perhaps is not what he used to be in Atletico Madrid but the Euro shows that Griezie still has some excellent skills and it is just how comfortable and confident he can bring in matches. Griezie can have bigger contributions than Dembele at least but I don't believe that he has ever felt comfortable in Barcelona. Bayern has to find a good player to replace Lewandowski. Currently he is at a pick, broke a record while he is quite old which means his estimated price won't increase in the future but most probably will decrease especially if he gets many injuries or scored less than the last season.
Better to sell him for €50m or swap him with another player (even in a different position) that +/- failed so far in his team but has potential to rise in Bundesliga like Hazard or Sterling or G.Jesus...
The whole question is whether a top club like Bayern is willing to wait for several years or at least one season when a player bought or traded will show the same results as the one already sold by that time by Lewandowski I am not sure that Hazard or Sterling will immediately fit into the mechanism of team play and will break all sorts of records by coming to the Bayern club. I do not think that they are there to help each other, I feel like they are both old (ibra specifically) and it sounds like there is a chance they are there to play when the other one can't, so when one old player gets injured or tired then the other will play.
Ibrahimovic was praised for last year's performance a lot but look at how many games he played and you will see that he played awesome but for a very little amount of games, hence why there is a new transfer, Giroud is there when Ibra can't play, or they will still play together but if one gets injured or tired the other one can step up all by themselves, that seems like the aim. Milan is not really looking like a championship level of team anyway and spending only a small amount is not a problem for them, Giroud was basically free player for them and that is going to at least not hurt them even if not help them.
Giroud is 34 years old and is not a young player by football standards. I do not understand why Milan is recruiting such age players to its team, this is a decision for a maximum of 1 or 2 seasons, and then again it will be necessary to look for young players who will form the main team and this period of teams will still need to go through. Giroud is 34 though. But his fitness is still very good and he is in great form. No club will be harmed if he is included in the team. If Giroud has helped Milan win the title in two seasons, I think that's enough for Milan. Maybe next season they will look for young players. I have watched Giroud play for Chelsea and you’re underestimating him by a big margin, because even at this age he’s a top class footballer and he can definitely make a big impact if he’s played continuously. Also I’m not sure if he and Ibra will play together, and even if they do then one will try and score and the other will try and pass it to him, and it’ll be interesting to see which one of them adopts which role. |

It's going to be interesting to see if Man City will rely on Gabriel Jesus as lone striker next season or they are going to back him with top signing.
I don't think that City would go into next season with just Gabriel Jesus as their only striker, he is not a bad striker, but he is not a top quality attacker either; and then again I know Pep won the league last season without a real marksman upfront, but surely they must seek reinforcement in the striking position, and I think the main reason why Pep didn't really field a striker too much last season is cause Kun was mostly injured and Jesus isn't too good. Having said that, City also need to win the title that has eluded them for so long, and that's the CL, and I think that they'd need a born scorer if they are to achieve that. I also don't think that City will content themselves with only Jesus as a striker. They are getting really close to ending the Harry Kane deal successfully. They will pour a lot of money for him but I think it's absolutely worth it. Kane is one of the greatest strikers now. I can't even imagine him at City. I don’t know if you’ll read the report or no but Levy has finally agreed to sell Kane, and now the only question is how much can City pay for him or will Chelsea or Manchester United bid for him. Furthermore ManCity player who left the club has also confirmed that they’re signing a world class striker, so it looks like either Kane or Halland is coming. |

It looks like the competition for the title will be even bigger now.
I don't know, I think Verstappen will win it quite easily. But the second drivers of both teams could become important. If Bottas can get up near the front with Perez remaining further back, then that would give Mercedes a tactical advantage and the ability to run split strategies on pit stops, and effectively manage Verstappen's stops. We'll see, I suppose. And whilst Red Bull have the faster car at the moment, it isn't guaranteed to remain fastest for the rest of the season. Having a driver with the drivers cup while losing the constructors is not unheard of, it is a bit more rare I will give you that but it has happened before. Like for example on Hamiltons first ever championship, Ferrari was the constructor champion, so it has happened even though it is quite rare for it to happen. I feel like if it's gonna happen at any season it could be this one, Bottas is the classic just go out there, race a bit, pit, race some more and finish boring guy who always gets results unless team screws him up, and Hamilton is fighting for the title, Max may end up winning or not but even if he wins Perez is nowhere to be found, so I could easily say that there is a good chance Mercedes could still end up winning while Max becomes champion, it is quite possible. We just need to see this next race and then it is a big break, I feel like Hungary will be another Hamilton because Max may not be ready just yet, but after the break I am sure he will be ready again. I don’t know about you’ll but reading what you’ll just said made me visualise like I was reading a Hollywood movie script, and to be honest I loved every part of it as we don’t get to see these kind of results often in a season. However as you’ll have rightly said the chances of this happening is rare, but I’m yet praying it does happen because I’m bored to see the same results season after season. |

I just can't hate PSG, even though the way they go about their transfers is somewhat irritating especially when a player's intention is to leave the club, they always hold them against their wishes. As for making offers to tempt players aways from their various clubs, I don't see a problem with that, Real Madrid have done just that for ages, and so have Barcelona at some point in time, since PSG can afford them then I'd rather we let them enjoy their time. The most appropriate nickname for PSG is the snatcher because they can snatch almost every player to move to PSG, even though their squad is already strong (yes financial strength can make it happen)  . Maybe one of the reasons is the Champions League, even though PSG has spent a lot of money but they still failed to win the Champions League trophy and it seems this season they still have that ambition. I’m keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that Pogba finally leaves Manchester United, and to be honest he’s not a bad player but he’s not a Manutd player for me and hence I hope that he leaves. However PSG is willing to pay only $50 million which maybe rejected by the Manutd board, so let’s hope both cubs can reach an agreement soon. |

I did not know that now FIFA wants 48 teams or nations to enter the World Cup, I hope it happens, the truth seems very good to me, because also the case of South America is the strongest soccer tie on the planet, the teams to qualify have to get in. The first 4, the 5 enters the repechage phase with Oceania, the truth must increase for both Asians and South Americans, most South American countries fight to the death for that position, normally the ones that immediately classify the most are Brazil and Argentina for its high level of football, in fact the only country in South America that has not been to the World Cup has been Venezuela that has never had such a privilege, in addition to that the show would last much longer and that translates into more football, which is not it's not bad at all. I feel bad for teams such as Venezuela and Ecuador. They are very strong teams, and can easily defeat Asian teams such as Saudi Arabia and Iran. But unfortunately they belong to the strongest Confederation in football (CONMEBOL), and that makes it almost impossible for them to qualify for the world cup. And even for the 2026 World Cup, FIFA hasn't increased the number of teams from that Confederation in a big way. For 2022, they had 4.5 slots, and this has been increased to 6.5. For comparison, Asian teams have been increased from 4.5 to 8. @Sithara007 in the end FIfA decisions are motivated by money, and where they feel they won’t get much profits they avoid going in that direction. I think that the problem with a rank players facing an unknown or relatively new players in the tournament as they don't have any pressure, they just want to play out and win. Delbonis and Bautista-Agut and I would say Carreno-Busta are three of the hottest players right now. But in any given night they still could be upset even in clay court. Casper Ruud is playing early vs Novak, hopefully as the 3rd seed in this tournament, we won't see any upset. @Kemarit upsets are normal at least for me because after watching this sport for a while now, I feel these upsets make the tournament more interesting. I'm not sure but I guess he knows what's his priorities.
His channel is doing good, he's future commentator and it seems he's going to be very likable and famous if he join the commentary box. His cricketing knowledge is amazing and we need such commentators especially from India because majority of our commentators are mediocre except Harsha (Dinesh Kartik started very well tho).
How much these guys earn from the job as commentators? I guess the pay level will be much lower than what they would earn from the IPL. And for Ashwin, he still goes for well over $1 million a year in the IPL auctions. So I don't think that he has any immediate plan to take retirement from the game and concentrate on the commentator job. I agree with you on the mediocre quality of Indian commentators. Sanjay Manjrekar is a perfect example. It surprises me that this guy is not yet fired by his employer. @Vishnu.Reang I wouldn’t be surprised if IPL commentators are over paid, because if they don’t do good commentary then the match will seem dull to viewers who’re watching it at home. Pakistan made less run in their innings and also they do not have the bowling line up to defend this small target.
Overall it was a bad series for Pakistan. They have lost both the ODI and T20 series and it will shatter their confidence before going into T20 World cup. They should have shown better performances specially in T20 matches.
The 3rd T20I was a close match, i thought England would win easily but Pakistan fought till the last over and if they could have held on to their catches we might have had a different result but it was not a one sided match and it was entertaining till the end. The find for England was Liam Livingstone who performed well throughout the series. ~

Yes the spinners dominated the third T20 match and Mohammad Hafeez proved that age is just a number.
