I think Juventus is working on the right path, unlike PSG. PSG is trying to get the best 11 players to ever exist in the football world and try to do anything that they have to achieve that. A lot of the users were surprised with the poor performance from Bangladesh, but it was somewhat expected for me. Ever since they got the test status in 1999, the performance from the Bongs have been like this only. Once in a while, they will score an upset victory against one of the stronger sides and that will enable them to continue with the current status. IMO, other emerging teams such as Afghanistan also deserves the chances that are being given to Bangladesh. I agree with you, one cannot just look at numbers of countries on an continent or number of population. Of course Asia has much more inhabitants, but the two largest countries India and China are practically not present in the football World. African teams are very passionate, but so far haven't had much success in world cups. You could give them more slots, which of course would increase the chance that a few teams could come further into the tournament, but it wouldn't raise the quality of the tournament probably.
If we look at the performance of Asian teams against European teams, it is easy to understand that Asian teams are very weak. They are far behind. While teams like Korea and Japan have been able to improve themselves somewhat, they are still much weaker than European or American teams. The European leagues are very advanced. The Sri Lankan batsmen managed to score 49 runs in 12 overs but lost two important wickets of Gunathilaka and Nissanka. I would like to see him take a club smaller than PSG/Bayern/City and be able to beat one of the listed monsters (not in one game but in the championship). Richarlison is one of the players I admire alot in the premier league,he is one of best players in Everton and I really think he deserves to play in a big team like Totthenham or Arsenal.If Totteham are able to make this deal materialise,then I will know they are really up for something next season.But I believe they are not the only club going for the player,Arsenal is also looking at his contract situation,and would want to snatch him from Totteham if they delay in signing him.
Even though Tottenham is able to get this player I don't believe they will be playing a lot better in the next season. I don't think they are a bad team, I have never thought that about them but the problem is they have not shown good results even though they do have a very good and capable squad. Obviously, they have realized that they should do something really quickly otherwise Harry Kane is going to leave Tottenham  . I obviously don't think there are doing everything just to impress him but they do realize that it is probably the only chance that they have with him. |
