4 GPUs on 1 computer, and I've got 1 instance of GPUMiner open using cgminer.

Well I have no idea what GPUMiner is.  But 5830's should be getting 300+Mhash/s though.
2842  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER GPU FPGA overc monit fanspd RPC stratum linux/windows/osx/mip/r-pi 2.9.6 on: December 02, 2012, 10:23:13 PM
I've got 4  5830 cards mining on 1 PC

Before I switched to cgminer each was getting 270 MHash

Now with cgminer, and only using -w 128 and I-9 flags, 3 miners are getting normal MHash but when I start the 4th miner it's only getting 150 MHash

Any idea why?

What do you mean 4th miner?  Are you starting a separate CGMiner instance for each card in this one machine?  One instance of CGMiner will run all four GPU's.

what's the CLI entry to add a 2nd backup pool miner (slush's stratum) in windoze?

Check the examples in the Executive Summary in the first post.

Os2Sam,
Search for your IP address on blockchain.info site is how I did it.

-Wave

Oh, OK.  Obvious enough Smiley.

Well you've helped me move forward a little more.  Hadn't really thought much about setting up port forwarding to my Bitcoin node in a while, now with your, and others, here input I've gotten it done.
Thanks,
Sam
2845  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Setting Up a Bitcoin Node on: December 02, 2012, 01:03:53 PM
Alright Gents, I have 25 connections now and have relayed a couple of transactions first on blockchain.info.
-Wave

I setup port forwarding to my client last night.  I'm up to 28 connections now.

How do you know you've relayed transactions?  Does the client log that?
Thanks,
Sam

I really like the Lower/Mean/Upper hashrate estimate figures for the week.
2847  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [3700 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: November 29, 2012, 12:04:18 PM
what, why 50% less reward?

Bitcoin block reward has been cut in half to 25 BTC.

This happens automatically every 210000 blocks.
2848  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Who is quitting mining due to block halving? on: November 29, 2012, 11:41:08 AM

But I still want to support bitcoin so I setup a full bitcoin node today!  :-)

-Wave

Running a full node on such a device would be low cost, a mildly interesting learning experience, and quite useful as well (I'd like to support bitcoin as well).

When you guys say run a "full bitcoin node", what do you mean exactly?  Are you just running a Bitcoin client 24/7 or is there something else to it?
Thanks,
Sam
2849  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [800 GH] Ozcoin Pooled Mining | DGM | PPS |Stratum+VarDiff US EU AU servers on: November 29, 2012, 11:25:25 AM

Rate was 31% higher for 144 blocks (103 before and 40 after)

At average 10 minutes per block, 144 blocks is 24hours
but they averaged 7m 37.65s (a massive 31.10% higher block rate) and only took 18hrs 18min

Kano,
Thanks for the clarification.
Sam

As some of you will be aware I have a minor ongoing health issue
I am booked for surgery tomorrow at 11am my time
I will be less available than usual for ~48hours

Ozcoin staff will be keeping an eye on things for me Smiley

cheers
Graet

Hope all goes well with your surgery.  Will be praying for you.

The 144 blocks to 210040 was actually 31% !!!

31% of what?
The block rate was 31% higher - all difficulty information is based on the target of 10 minutes per block.
For those 144 it was 31% faster (which is big for block rate)

So on the last 86400 seconds of the end of 50BTC block rewards 31% more blocks were mined? Or maybe 31% less time was used to mine the last 144 blocks.  Either your too confusing or I've had too much to drink.
Have fun in KC,
Sam

I'm going to mine my GPU's till the last fan bearing.  Just kinda funny that way.

aww man, there will be no autographs by the person who found the last block :/ will be disappointing when we look back at btc history

It's got a BTC Guild autograph, right?
2855  Other / Archival / Re: Mining pools list on: November 28, 2012, 11:57:03 PM
Correct, only old getwork backend is mining namecoins. As percentage of Stratum miners is going up (currently at 51%), namecoin will die on my pool as well :-(. It looked promising for me, but the project is practically dead since merged mining has been introduced.

I've been meaning to make a comment saying that it looks liked Merged Mining killed the Namecoin project.
2856  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [800 GH] Ozcoin Pooled Mining | DGM | PPS |Stratum+VarDiff US EU AU servers on: November 28, 2012, 11:54:04 PM
Speaking of hash rate, it looks like the network hash rate has gone up since the reward halving.  Thought everyone was supposed to abandon Bitcoin after that happened?
2857  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [800 GH] Ozcoin Pooled Mining | DGM | PPS |Stratum+VarDiff US EU AU servers on: November 28, 2012, 11:51:50 PM
Fees:
I would like to maintain fees at 2%DGM and 4%PPS but to be able to do this and the pool remain viable we need to double our hashrate. I encourage all of our happy miners to tell their mining friends about Ozcoin and help grow the pool and thus keep their fees low Smiley

Or if everyone just donates an extra 2% to fulfill the VIP status requirements, you've got your extra funding. Wink

It would still be nice to double the hash rate too.
2858  Other / Archival / Re: Mining pools list on: November 25, 2012, 05:36:28 PM
I will not be among first, but I guess it has to be some sort of pool that give your true input in, so if I make 20% of the block that's what I want. So which one that would be?

That sounds like you want proportional.  They are in this threads list.
2859  Other / Archival / Re: Mining pools list on: November 25, 2012, 04:42:20 PM
I don't understand what type of pool should I pick for new asic farm?

Well, if you get the jump on most of the rest of us you probably should solo mine, at first anyway.
2860  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Weekly pool statistics on: November 25, 2012, 12:42:58 PM

First, some sad news. I have been spending far too much time every Sunday

That certainly is understandable.

I really appreciate your effort in this table of stats.  I'm starting to really enjoy checking it out and keeping better tabs on the pools.
I think this topic should be pinned below your mining pools list.
Thanks,
Sam
