Hello, is there any coins that I can profitably mine alone by myself? I've read a bit about Byteball - it uses hard drive free space and it's most ecological way of crypto mining. I downloaded the wallet yesterday and it's still synchronising. I think Vertcoin may be a good option but not sure about it. I have about 0,5 TB of free hard drive space and MSI Radeon R9 270X graphics card. Can I mine two cryptos at once or will it be too much for my PC?
byteball can't be mined afaik, you cna solo mine nexus and spreadcoin they are both good, or some new shit coin that are launched like infocoin, but it's died, there is also bitcoin planet, which look good for solo

why people don't invest in altcoin? Why is it so under rated?
they are not under rated, they were been pumping all the altcoin, since two months, where have you been lately? there was a huge pump 2 months ago, and now investors are dumping to get money back, this is normal in this market and in bitcoin market also

i think wave and lisk have nothing to offer anymore, they are old shit ico pump and dump, but lisk was superior, because of forging, which is a form of mining with pos, but wave is just a copy paste of lisk with nothing new, and scam coin build on the network of wave are worse than the ico of smart contract for ETH

The biggest fear that many will have is how do we use this currency in regular transactions, like for some fruit, veggies, plumbing or a beer.
So far this seems like an easy issue to resolve. The technology is there, the apps are coming along and there are a few sites that offer auction style sales. The wallets are there and all that is needed are localized people to help local businesses.
The last step is the education. Anyone have good ideas on the best path of education on applicable purchases using bitcoin?
In my opinion, the finest way to solve this problem is that developers make a wallet that is used by everyone and can send Bitcoin directly without fees, that would be awesome lol you can already do that, you can already send bitcoin without fee, i don't think you know how bitcoin work after reading your post, by sending without fee now you get your confirmation on christmas if never, fee ensure that your transaction is confirmed faster, learn how bitcoin work please

If miners stop playing stupid games and really want the best for bitcoin, they would stop stomping on the hardfork drums of war, and they would activate BIP141 as they have been told by everyone worth listening to in the space. But what happens when you give stupid janitors the ability to vote on engineering matters? that they will don't do the right thing.
Enable segwit with no stupid hardfork drama, and see bitcoin skyrocket.
Break bitcoin in half, see the price crash, and see everyone involved in the forked chain going bankrupt, with the price going to 0 on Forkcoin, and with Bitcoin crashing but going back 3 years in price and taking another 3 years to recover.
Your choice.
if they enable segwit they lose on fee, because everyone pay less, they will lose a very good amount of money on fee, and they don't want that, and it's not a given that segwith will increase the value, that is another gamble they don't want to take imho

It is not a swap really. It is more like a you are entitled to have something. Because you would still have your SPR coins after helium gets distributed.
it's like zencash and zcashclassic, who was holding prior a certain date a certain amount of zcashclassic, get the same on zencash, you cna double your money easy, because now zen cash is more valuable than zcashclassic, by 3x, very good profit, if HLM do the same

lol i don't think you can get far away with this, also no mining? what are the plans, to do an ico like with ethereum and directly go to pos? bad idea, i would prefer if there was a mining phase to distribute better the coins

some airdrop coin have restriction for example you can not join the airdrop like in picoin, if you are not junior, so newbie will buy the coin, other airdrop pay very little so it's better to buy if they have stake, you can earn from stake more if you own a good balance

yeah asic being bad for the market isn't a new thing, they centralize mining, and by doing this you have 2-3 guys contorlling the mrket with plenty of coin, which mean easy dumping, if the coin were in more hands the dumping would be less and the value stronger, i'm afraid sia will die with the new asic that can mine blake2b algo

THE SYSTEM play agnust you lol so true, but not for all altcoin, because some don't have premine, that is true for shitty ico and huge premine scam like ETH and zcash which take fee from block, for "development", i won't trust that, but it's true that we were in a bubble at least for altcoin, bitcoin is still holding good at the same price
i think yes for now, mining is always up and down like trading, now everything is red like in winter season, but will return to green in autumn season, it's always like that, you must be new here if you believe otherwise, don't worry the market will recover

I used to mine a while back and have two 2GB sapphire r9 270x, now I'm back and scrypt is all ASIC.... X11 is ASIC.... ETH can't be mined with 2GB cards.... most of the new ALTS I see being created are now ICOs on ETH and not mineable currencies... is there a list of coins still mineable with GPU?
try to mine the clone of ethereum they use the same algo, you have some choice, like musicoin or ethereum classic, with classic i'm afraid you can not diff too high but with musiccoin you can use 2gb card
i always buy bitcoin, at any price because i believe in the project and i think the value will go very high after they fix all the issue, but if you are afraid you can wait every time the new pump before buying, it's a nice strategy to have, but if i can suggest. for me it's better to buy altcoin that can give you more money than bitcoin, because you can increase your bitcoin a lot if you know what you are doing

nChain is Bitcoins future. Big blocks. No segwit posion. Bullish.
nchain is a scam, everything created by someone that think he is satoshi is a scam lol, segwit is the only solution, not that bullshit segwit 2x, that is wrong i agree, but pure segwit is the way to go, aren't the dev team pro pure segwit? and not segwit2x? miners are instead against both because they want high fee

One of the main unique selling points of btc is now massive liability, and has been for years.
Its rendered btc useless for most commerce transactions, as the majority of transactions made in business are small
you mean the size of the transaction in byte or in btc? i think the size in byte is on average high, and the size in bitcoin is high because no people will send few satoshi just to lose the transaction on fee, people ar enow doing high bitcoin transaction to have amrgin on fee
i like the new algo, look very similar to nist5, i get almost the same hash in both algo with my 1080ti, the profit is not bad, well now everything is less profitable but still satisfying, this look similar to veltor, which unfortunately was dumped because of the dev acting stupid, i hope will not happen to this too, and we can go to 100k satoshi
when this baby will get a better and with more volume, exchange? like bittrex or poloniex, i think it's time to move on and leave cryptopia which is good but not enough for this coin to take off, bittrex would really help the value to increase to the first peak, 200k satoshi and more

Hi
I've started investing in BTC and ETH one year ago but want to diversify right now a bit more. After a lot of research I found still too many interesting coins, but tried to reduce it down to 10. With maybe 2-3 ICOs, if I find something interesting. I've tried to find coins, with some new technology or disruptive idea, not just a Bitcoin replacement. What do you think about this distribution? BTC should be around 40% of the portfolio in the end, each other coin around 5%. I have one total amount I want to invest, but for averaging the entry price I will buy every month until the end of the year.
So:
Bitcoin Ethereum Litecoin Factom Maidsafe Golem Gamecredits Augur Siacoin Steem ? Some ICO ? ? Some ICO ?
remove steem and gamecreditc, DGB is better for gaming, siacoin is good but for storage i like burst, or for storage like movie i like LBRy, other are okish i guess, well bitcoin is a must withotu question, for ico i would only suggest Tezos, giga watt and SONM
I want to talk about the upcoming ICOs. Which ICOs seem genuine and worth buying? Which ICOs could end up being in top 50? For the list of upcoming ICOs https://www.icoalert.com tezo, giga watt and golem and sonm, but to be honest there is simply too much shit going on on ico now lol, everyone is jumping like there is 100% chance to get rich, people like to gamble, and i see that ico are the new dice game now, and they offer a less gambling experience, there is less risk with ico than pure dice

Hi . I wwhant to ask if is good that I invest my money in Nav coin. Sincerlly Im relatively new here. I know I need to make my own homework .... I research about it but I dont know yet if is good or bad investment. So I whant to ask what you think about this coin and tehnology ? thank
i would sell for now because for now all the altcoin are in the uptrend, aim for the only one which are not in the down trend and buy those instead, some altcoin, like nexus netko and spreadcoin are in uptrend, so investors jump in these and dump the other, better to diversificate than holding only one coin, too much risk
