2841  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't ever quit your job to trade crypto. on: May 06, 2021, 08:51:00 AM
I see a lot of newbies ask whether they should quit their jobs to trade crypto, and my honest advice is you should not try it.

The thing with any investment or business is that, no matter the amount of money you have, it is always good to start small and grow over time (don't test water depth with both feets). Because you are entering a new market and you need time to understand the market. Your job will stand as an insurance for you, in case of any loss. So keep your job, continue investing in crypto and growing your portfolio until the money you make from crypto is more than enough to pay for your lifestyle and also save. Then only can you quit your job.
OP I feel a strong energy from your message. You sound so sure and I'm certain you have strong feelings about this. My question to you is this; Have you been in that situation before? If you had, then I'm guessing things went wrong and you regret your actions. Trading crypto is work just like traders on wall street. Its not a gamble, like every other profession, you need to be have an education to be a successful crypto trader. It's a full time job...I don't fancy OP's narrative of making trading sound like a passive thing.

Having a job is considered a safe plan. You're sure to get paid a salary at the end of the month( most times) and you don't have to bother about the company's risks or losses. You save enough to get you through retirement. Playing it safe is good ideology but that won't get you far if you have ambition. I have seen friends quit their jobs to pursue their dreams and passion, very few succeed at it but they move on because they tried at it.
The problem is newbies are lured in the crypto space believing they can change their lives overnight and become billionaires.  A man who believes such can do anything.

2845  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: OH YEAH FRUSTATED TRADERS. on: April 26, 2021, 02:57:43 PM
Nobody is an expert at trading. Even though we like to share our winnings more than our losses.   There are good times and then they are bad days. How you deal wit :'(h the bad days is what matters. Trading is like the game of chess. You need to have a strategy you're confident will work for you. And also have alternatives in case things don't work as planned you're not left in the wind. Failure to do so can be catastrophic
2846  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I am doomed on trading on: April 26, 2021, 02:52:19 PM
Whether experienced or not, no trader has had only profits.
When making a trading decision in general, give it a minute and check if you're doing it from emotion or logic.
We are human and can be emotional. We all at some point face a loss that might be hard to deal with. This can negatively drive our emotions which often leads to poor decision making.
If you ever find yourself in such a situation; sit back, and critically anlayze what went wrong. Evaluate your mistakes and learn from them instead of acting out.

I feel sorry for Arsenal fans they suffered a big loss yesterday. But then its not new to them. How do y'all cope with such a club? Arsenal is having a hard time on the pitch.  Arsenal is an ancestral club just like Manchester United but they are not playing like one.  I remember the good old days of Patrick Vieira, Thierry Henry, Kanu Nwankwo. Back then the gunners were a formidable team  now they are just a shade of past glory
2849  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin unifiers the world on: April 23, 2021, 04:27:01 PM
I'm sorry to disappoint you OP but you could have easily been scammed. You're lucky you dealt with a honest person..scammers are attracted to Bitcoin because they believe and love the idea of anonymity. I'm glad you had a good experience but be sure to be careful in the future. Don't trust random people you meet online just because they claim to be crypto enthusiasts.
No currency can unify the world or bring about world peace. I think people exaggerate what Bitcoin is about and can do.
2850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If I die can someone achieve my btc. on: April 23, 2021, 02:55:41 PM
People don't talk about this topic often as much as it should. Death is inevitable and we will all go to the other side one day. It makes proper sense to write a will and declare your assets to your beneficiaries. The same applies to Bitcoin, you can use a bitcoin ledger, share your private keys with your beneficiary. But here also comes the issue of trust. But then this is something you have to do
Else it will stay forever on your wallet, lost from the rest of the world like the lost city of El dorado.
2851  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why Crypto Communities Matters? on: April 23, 2021, 02:35:42 PM
A community can be said to be a social group of any size, created by people with common goals or interests.
Newbies and people tend to join groups to get signals of pumps. Then they will become more dependent on signals or on the other words the opinions of others. They won't have their opinions on how price of one coin moves. They become more lazy and simply wait for pumps signals.

It is very rare to find people who intend to participate in groups just to learn knowledge. Your sentence mentions about interests. For most people, interests mean profits and pump signals are what they are finding for.
Signal groups can be advantageous. When I first started crypto, Iwas in a signal group. I paid a subscription fee of course.
As a subscriber you can access premium channel, premium btc updates, premium signals, all of the features on the site and the autotrader.  The signals were mostly 80% accurate but I learnt how to trade on my own by studying how they place trades. It took longer but I learnt along the way. What I enjoyed most was the premium chat, you can discuss any issue with the whole team and the whole premium channel members. There was no spamming because of the strict rules.
2852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: April 23, 2021, 12:50:38 PM
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/56823501

It looks like all of the Premier League clubs that joined the European Super League have decided to withdraw from the competition. Manchester City firstly decided to do it and Chelsea followed them. And now all of them did the same. Then it means that UEFA won this battle at least for now.
What the hell were they thinking? A super league? I'm glad to see they've come back to thier senses. Covid denied us of the game we love, I'd hate for the clubs to do the same. The whole idea of a super league is plain stupid. I don't it happening in the near future, we are not ready for that right now or any time soon. The competitions we have now are enough and players get fatigued because of playing multiple games in a week. I salute the teams for changing their decision and correcting their mistake.

FOMO is not limited to newbies. The concept that only newbies fomo is not true..everyone has emotions. Fomo is an emotion of fear and greed. And I'm sure everyone experiences that at some point. There's no exception it takes a lot of discipline not to fomo.
The crypto space is crazy and unpredictable. I have seen good traders lose their cool when trading and they completely forget their trading plan. Truth is things are easy in theory than in real life.
2854  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin a medium scammers use on: April 22, 2021, 02:33:47 PM
There has always been scammers and con artists. And there will always be gullible people. Bitcoin didn't really increase or reduce the crime rate. Fiat is no better, government have been fighting money laundering, ponzi schemes, hyips for years. It's not fair to now blame it all on bitcoin.
As for people getting scammed in the crypto space, that's just something we have to deal with. There is a certain amount of conflict that is needed to bring legitimacy to your belief. There is need for such conflict so that we grow, so that we are humble. I have seen people come out of a scam/ failed project and become better.
2855  Other / Meta / Re: Please share ideas how to earn merits. on: April 21, 2021, 08:59:15 AM
You already are up 18 merits so you kust be doing something right. Ranking up can be difficult. Don't think too hard about it.  Hustling for merits can be tedious and may distract you from the actual benefits of the forum like learning.
Just do your best to make quality post. You can study the previous posts of senior members and observe how they  post and how their mind works. That would act as a guide for you on how to construct good quality posts.
2856  Other / Beginners & Help / Why Crypto Communities Matters? on: April 21, 2021, 06:02:42 AM
 Introduction
A community can be said to be a social group of any size, created by people with common goals or interests. A crypto community is one where members share ideas, personal experience and their unwavering love for cryptocurrencies. Bitcointalk forum is an excellent example of such a community.  Satoshi Nakamoto founded the forum to help others in the bitcoin community. I particularly love the rank system and trust system put in place. I hope other crypto communities and groups will follow this thread in the future.

There are crypto communities on social media platforms such as Telegram, Clubhouse, Reddit, Viber, and so on.

Benefits of joining crypto communities

Building trust and a sense of togetherness
Joining a crypto community doesn’t only make someone a member or give a person a sense of belonging. It also brings a sense of ownership of what the group is about or what it promotes.
If you’re a part of a crypto group, in whichever social media platform it may be, you may have noticed that there’s a variety of people you’re communicating with. There may be newbies, exchange platform owners, traders, and investors, to name a few.

Providing an effective platform for communication
The world of cryptocurrencies can be overwhelming at first. Through communities, people with the same interests can exchange their ideas and knowledge with members from different parts of the world.

Opening vast opportunities of earning money
People join communities because they want to learn something. They may be curious about a specific cryptocurrency, a platform or an exchange, and products or services.

On the forum, you can find discussions dedicated to different aspects of blockchain technology like ICOs announcements, crypto trading, mining equipment, signature campaigns, airdrops & bounties e.t.c.

Disadvantages of joining a crypto community

I can't possibly think of a negative side to joining a crypto group except for the high possibility of scams. There are pump and dump groups everywhere looking for prey. Joining a community puts you in a box and scammers can target members of these community. That's why I recommend the trust system.

Conclusion
One of the best ways to get involved in cryptocurrencies is to interact with the most active crypto communities. In most cases members are supportive and ready to answer your questions.

2857  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin almost made me rich on: April 20, 2021, 04:31:36 PM
Now imagine if you held onto those coins. You would have good amount of profits. That sure would that have made you happy. I think back then you were young and naive and didn't see much of a reason to hold on to your keys. If you had held onto those coins till now you would be  rich enough to go into start any business of your choice.  Its painful to lose such money...it is indeed a bitter experience.
But hey life happens, don't beat yourself about it. Your time is now. Invest in your future
2858  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which wallet is save for my coin on: April 20, 2021, 03:24:41 PM
I am new to Cryptocurrency and I hear of people complaining heavily about how the loose their coin to scammers. I get scared of investing most of the times. On different count I get advice from friends to try invest in Cryptocurrency. I have gone on line to source for answer but I get confused.
Here are some pointers you should look out for when investing in a company so you don't fall for scams.
1. Avoid random telegram groups. In fact stay off telegram I know it sounds extreme but you'd be thankful you did.
2. Do not trust anyone claiming they will give you bitcoin or help you mine bitcoin for a small fee.
3. Do not trust the pretty girl in the fancy dress trying to convince of you of a golden opportunity.
4. Never trust anyone who promises to track and give you vsvk your lost Bitcoins. You most likely will get scammed again

I have plans of investing $400 in Crypto now my challenge is which coin should I start with, considering different coin scattered across different exchanges. I no of Bitcoin and Etherium but where to buy from and how to start is my challenge.
If I succeed in buying where do I store the coin, which of the wallet will be safer for me. I am scared of loosing this because this is my last fortune. As a girl child I want to be self reliant and independent. Some one introduced me to bitcointalk where I can ask questions and get direction on how to start up a business by buying Cryptocurrency and living it for a longer period of time by so doing I will accumulate wealth on a long-term base.
You can purchase using credit card, or bank transfer from any exchange or wallet like Binance, Bitfinex, Kraken, Coinbase.
or wallets like Jaxx, Mycelium, Blockchain Or buy directly from other people.
Hodling is always a good idea. If you are looking to buy alts you should do proper research before buying so you don't have an heart attack.
2859  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin the solution to financial freedom on: April 20, 2021, 07:12:50 AM
To me bitcoin is more of a store value. There are so many limitations  to what OP is suggesting. Bitcoin is easy to use but you still need basic level of education to know how to use it.
Even though crypto is the future of money, Bitcoin cannot replace traditional currencies. For Bitcoin to complete such feat, it has to be accepted not just locally but worldwide. To be honest, its goinf to take a long time for bitcoin to replace fiat. Governments are doing their best to make sure that never happens. In the past they called bitcoin a scam and declared it illegal. They fear the power bitcoin gives to the people. Although I don't think bitcoin has used to protest yet or boycott a movement. Best case scenario, the government will  create their own cryptocurrency so that they still have control. Correct me if I'm wrong but libra coin is an example of such cryptocurrency.

Sounds like you were raised in the country side. Parents can be over protective sometimes, I think it comes with the parent guide handbook lol.  There are three major factors that influence the behavior of a child. The first is Family, this is where parents, siblings and relatives come in. The second is Religion( the church or mosque) this shape the core values of the child. The third is the Environment: this involves all the external factors that influence the behavior of the child. These three factors form the foundation from which everything else is built on.
