Any update on this chart? And do any versions exist for other coins?

Welcome to the forum!
There's a lot of interesting conversations going on by a lot of smart people here, don't be shy about poking around on some sub-forum you never thought you'd find interesting, you'll be surprised by the variety of chatter. It's great stuff!

I hate it when people start a thread with a link and not context or comment. I've already decided to click on the thread link to read whatever is on topic and then I'm told to go to another link!??
It's a waste of our time! It's damn near spam!

Were there exchanges back then and did these exchanges accept buyers' money from around the world? How was the process like on Mt. Gox? I'm trying to come up with reasons for why I couldn't buy Bitcoin when they were dirt cheap to make myself feel better for missing out on making a lot of money. Because I read about Bitcoin in 2011 but I didn't pay anymore attention to it and didn't think people would start speculating with it and blow up the way it did ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif) Everyone has their version of this story. Don't kick yourself for it and be happy that you got involved as early as 2014! (At least that's what I tell myself)

My grandpa told me that back in 2011 Bitcoin was only available on these little brass coins with holograms on side, they were made by this mythical person called Casascius. Psych.
I'm glad it's significantly easier to buy BTC now than it was two years ago. It's great to see this system evolve and grow and succeed.

Why do you keep starting threads with the same link to your article?
You'd be better off posting genuine posts and allowing people to click on your signature link as their own curiosity drives them.

You get the award for the funniest thread headline.
This has literally been the biggest story in the news for the last two weeks.
Awful stuff going on, I hope the peace talks can be product and long lasting. War doesn't win, only peace.

Pushing this idea one step further, the publicity should come with a purse prize or reward the leads non users to have or redeem free Bitcoins.

Being able to export the data into Excel so I can maintain my own record and conduct my on analysis would also be very useful.
I don't think anyone mentioned this suggestion yet.
Thanks.

This is cool.
I've found a potential error. I think your Posts and BTC labels are "inverted" on the graph. The "Posts" label is on the left next to the graph scale that's more applicable to BTC tally (i.e., 0.01, 0.10, 0.25, etc) and the "BTC" label is on the right next to the graph scale that's more applicable to post count (i.e., 10, 20, 50).
I look forward to seeing this evolve with time. Where's that eating popcorn emoticon?

Did Snowden or Wikileaks ever uncover Government talk about Bitcoin?

going back a five hundred years ago in the USA - the place was teeming with savages and white settlers living in tents and hovels with the USA owning fuck all money !!
back in the old days of red injuns and savages, people had shitty sanitation and had to shit in a hole in the ground out the back of the house in a freezing wooden box, even the ladies
the fashion trends were really shitty, folk had to dress up like cunts
the US was at constant war with red injuns, or the mexicans, or the brits, or themselves for hundreds of years, with veterans getting fuck all for losing their legs, not like now
Wow, what an ignorant perspective! You think Native Americans were savages? Living off the land, killing what they need to eat, enjoying this world. If you think they were savages words must not exist for what we are today. Today our highest organizations kill people for the most frivolous of reasons without even standing face to face with honor in front of those they dare to battle. I hope you don't have any kids, your attitude doesn't need to be passed on, it isn't productive to anyone.

warfare could actually make us less safe. you probably think terrorists hate us just because they are crazy, but it's not that simple.
Agreed! How safe are the people of Israel and Palestine tonight?

You're right that these statements don't make you racist, they make you ethnocentric. (And technically the people you're referring to, those coming over illegally in volumes are Americans. All of the land From Canada to Patagonia is "America" - North, Central, and South. We're all American...) We've welcomed people from all over the world, our nation is built on the backs of immigrant workers, we live in peace and harmony with one another, different races and different cultures, we have accepted and embraced them as our own, Americans.
Now our nation is trillions of dollars in debt, with millions of Americans living below the poverty line who rely on government assistance to survive, veterans who fought for our country are dying for lack of care from the government and people they fought to protect, and our school system is failing due to lack of funding, this is not the time for our nation to add more burden to its weight, this is not the time to welcome people who enter in our nation illegally and spend billions of dollars caring for them.
This view does not make me a racist.
I have friends from every race, nor do I care the races of those that enter our country illegally.
I believe in one thing, and that is to do what is right for this nation and its people, and spending billions of dollars, money that we have to borrow to spend, in aid to illegal immigrants is not good for our nation.
Our efforts and financial resources must be focused on improving the lives of our own citizens first, not those who come from other countries, illegally.
Americans First.

There's an error in your first sentence. We haven't welcomed people from all over the world, we are people from all over the world. Your ancestors (likely) came here on a boat or a plane or by foot.
If you want to fix the over population of our country, call it over population don't blame immigration. Without immigration you wouldn't be here.
And any solution needs to start with re-prioritizing Washington.

There are some people selling silver in the Marketplace and Auction sections of this forum.
Other than that, you could order silver directly from the US, South Africa, Canada, Australia, China, and New Zealand governments (just a few of many.) They'll always charge a tad more than spot because they need to make some money off the sale, but you're buying to invest right? The objective would be to hold onto the sliver until the value exceeds the spot and premium you paid.
You can also go to your local coin shop and buy silver.
To sell it, you can definitely go to your local coin shop but you can also find people on this forum and eBay to buy your silver.
Worst case scenario, if the dollar were to really decline in value having silver on hand might be wise at least as a store of value (and if things get really bad as an exchange for goods and services.)
The government mints I mentioned above make really beautiful silver and gold coins.

I know Google Scholar has a good list of educational publications, which you could do a search for BTC, but it may not include annual reports from public companies.

Good find.
IS there a place where videos like this are kept on the forum? Maybe there are others I can view.
Thanks for sharing.

What are the fundamental differences to the total count of coins that can be mined or the process of mining?
Obviously BTC was first but are the subsequent alternatives more refined or more efficient?

Is it funny or annoying that there is an exact parallel thread (created a year before this one was) being discussed side by side on the forum today? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=261598.0Girls can do anything boys can do, at least that's what they tell me...I believe them.
