Use escrow or you'll get scammed.
2842  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Name your TOP 3 altcoins! on: May 16, 2013, 04:04:27 PM
What does everybody seem to want to get rid of their *coins for as quickly as possible? BTC and LTC.  That's it. There are no Top 3, just Top 2.

2844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mt gox cancel LTC deal?? on: May 16, 2013, 03:06:50 AM
They changed their plans. They will add Mincoin (MNC) instead.

False. MtGox has no plans to support the Mincoin chain.
2845  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mt gox cancel LTC deal?? on: May 16, 2013, 03:04:37 AM
Where did the LTC on GOX originate from? Did Mark K or anyone over at GOX ever confirm it?

Surely it just couldn't be some Alt Currency Forum rumor that went viral LOL

 Grin Grin Grin

Yes, it has been officially confirmed by MtGox (see the .PDF link someone posted earlier) that they will add support for alternate cryptocurrencies. The existence of valid API responses for LTC and NMC support this:

2846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wait...Does the March 18th finCen legislation make it illegal to trade bitcoins? on: May 15, 2013, 09:01:27 PM
While researching the whole Mt.Gox warrant thing I started reading the actual legislation that they are alleging Mt.Gox has violated. http://www.fincen.gov/news_room/nr/pdf/20130318.pdf

Quote
A final type of convertible virtual currency activity involves a de-centralized convertible virtual currency (1) that has no central repository and no single administrator, and (2) that persons may obtain by their own computing or manufacturing effort.
A person that creates units of this convertible virtual currency and uses it to purchase real or virtual goods and services is a user of the convertible virtual currency and not subject to regulation as a money transmitter. By contrast, a person that creates units of convertible virtual currency and sells those units to another person for real currency or its equivalent is engaged in transmission to another location and is a money transmitter. In addition, a person is an exchanger and a money transmitter if the person accepts such de-centralized convertible virtual currency from one person and transmits it to another person as part of the acceptance and transfer of currency, funds, or other value that substitutes for currency.

Does that mean anyone trading Bitcoins for USD is now breaking the law if they are not registered as a Money Service Business?!

Geez man, you should probably take a few minutes to read the warrant before making threads. Short answer: MtGox lied about being a transmitter of money on the "MSB Accounts, Identification of an MSB Customer" form.  That's the reason for the warrant.

2854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [WTB] Elacoins on: May 14, 2013, 05:29:33 AM
Each block only has 1 coin at the start due to the low difficulty, 1000 ELC should cost you quite a lot Smiley

Later on when the reward increases, the demand for it should also have increased (because more people are pointing their hashpower at it).

So the price should decrease over time?

Sounds like it, yeah.

2859  Economy / Lending / Re: Loans and sent loans on: May 12, 2013, 04:24:38 AM
Then, I have documentation on Bennett, where he lives etc.
I also have many other details, that's why I have a little more trust in this guy.
I did do a background search on him and find a lot of talk about him asking for loans.

Sometimes you have to take risks, haha.

So we know where a lot of scammers live. That doesn't mean anything. LOL take risk LOL you have no idea what your doing do you LOL Your going to be poor real fast.

Clearly not, I will learn one day.

You can start with the link in my sig. Both the guys you loaned to were already listed as fitting the scammer profile.
2860  Economy / Lending / Re: Loans and sent loans on: May 12, 2013, 12:06:02 AM
I have contacted Wardrick because it is now over 24 hours since the transaction took place.

He's been online since and seemed not to reply to my private message.

I'm going to give him another 24 hours before I send yet another message, then I will wait 24 hours before acting upon this.

I had that guy listed as a suspected scammer for nearly a month: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=119896.0
