2841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this guy Satoshi Nakamoto? on: April 10, 2016, 01:03:41 PM
We are already had the news on this australian man being satoshi a couple of months ago, and Greg Maxwell quickly proved that this was bullshit in reddit with some proof, so I wonder what he has to say now about it again. I think this guy is just desperate for attention. If he was satoshi he just had to move the coins and that's all.

And no one should forget that: EVEN if he moved the original coins that are supposedly satoshi's coins, it wouldn't prove anything this point, because we can't know if satoshi had the coins stolen and then ended up on this guys hand's due having connections inside the inner circle of the original developer team and so on. There's just nothing this Craig Wright dude can do to convince anyone that he is Satoshi, and Satoshi would never be stupid enough to want to become a public figure, which pretty much discredits anything this hoaxer has to say.
I would say that moving coins known to belong to satoshi and/or signing a message from one or more address that is known to belong to satoshi would reasonably prove that he is satoshi, as would signing a message from satoshi's GPG key (DE4E FCA3 E1AB 9E41 CE96  CECB 18C0 9E86 5EC9 48A1 and not any one other then this one).

I don't think that theft was all that much of a problem as of the time that satoshi left, and I think he would have said something if he coins were stolen up to shortly after he left.

He could have had everything stolen, including PGP keys and all. I personally don't trust anything at this point. Satoshi would never come out and reveal that he is satoshi because he is too smart and knows that he gains nothing from doing so, so whoever comes out claiming it's satoshi it's an instant fake for me, no matter what proof he has to provide.
2842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Are Just Too Stupid to Use Bitcoin Right Now on: April 10, 2016, 12:58:12 PM
"People are just too stupid to use bitcoin right now,” I overheard someone argue at a bar a few weeks ago as we were discussing the potential of cryptocurrency. “Society’s understanding of where money comes from is the real challenge.

This is the whole article I read at cointelegraph

I think this claim is spot on: "Society’s understanding of where money comes from is the real challenge."

People don't care about the FED, or the fact that they are printing infinite fake money, they just want to pay for something, and get the goods or services delivered, everything else is just irrelevant. And that's the challenge, wake up the sheep into realizing Bitcoin is real money and fiat is bullshit.
2843  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How far could bitcoin mining take us - literally on: April 10, 2016, 12:49:56 PM
It depends on the amount of competition to stay relevant in the mining game. If technology keeps getting developed, the sky is literally the limit. I think we will see in the future underground mining facilities in the middle of the sea at very cold temperatures, or in the artic, just crazy shit. And as technology becomes better, it will be more efficient and less polluting, so that wouldn't be a problem.
2844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this what we called "addictive to gamble"? on: April 09, 2016, 04:08:52 PM
we know that most of the times we lost on gambling, but instead of stopping we keep on playing for the next day

after we lost, we got frustrated but we still back to play, is this called "gamble addiction"?

What you are describing is indeed a clear symphony of addiction, in fact it has a particular name called "revenge" where you want to take revenge against your odds. For example you are a trader and you are mad at you losing money, and you want to revenge against the market and stop doing stupid trades to get rid of that feeling of being a loser, same for good ol casino gambles.
2845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gambling is Exploding on: April 09, 2016, 03:57:29 PM
Yes no doubt bitcoin is one of best option for gambling because it anonymous and very easy to get start there just in a seconds.
And thats why more and more sites have started to accept bitcoins, because ask any gambler what he wants apart from more coverage of sports and odds, he will say I want my withdraw fast and without any questions.

That is right that everyone wants fast withdrawal and deposit, other currencies like USD have this kind of site so I dont think that is only reason why they want to gambling using bitcoin to gambling. The real reason is because you will be anonymous in bitcoin thats why most of them will use bitcoin especially for for them who have a strict gambling rule in their country

Yeah most people will enjoy the increased privacy. With gambling you don't need anyone's permission, there are no restrictions to any country or nationality or age or anything, anyone can do whatever they want with their money, including gambling as much as you want. Finally some financial freedom will be possible. There is an huge market for Bitcoin that government issued currencies will never be able to fill.
2846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoes dies for the 100th time! on: April 09, 2016, 03:51:12 PM
Bitcoes? Who was he? I am sure he was a nice person, RIP Mr. Bitcoes.

Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking that I typed Bitcoin. I think I was going to type "Bitcoin goes defunct for the 100th" or something like that and ended up typing that lol.

Biggs is an idiot!
I have seen severals of his panels with the Winklebros!
Can not take this guy serious to be honest.
In terms of celebrating this 100th death of Bitcoin I have no clue how or why to celebrate it.
Maybe buy a few more coins and smile?! Grin

Just another no name CEO that hasn't contributed to anything that would make Bitcoin better in any shape or form. Well I just ignore most CEOs these days, unless they are part time coders and share fundamental views for Bitcoin's well being such as privacy and decentralization.
2847  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost your wallet password again? on: April 09, 2016, 03:42:58 PM

I bet most of the time good hackers don't even need sophisticated software, just a good partial and a dash of mined social data.

If the person is dumb enough to put a password of his dog's name or his neighbors name, then he might deserve it.

Passwords should always be separate from your social info.

I think the VAST majority of people out there use weak passwords due to ignorance, convenience, laziness and lack of creativity. I'd like to think that us Bitcoin folk are in the minority though and better understand the problem/stakes and go the extra mile.

Something as short as 8 character password, specially if combining a couple capslocks on/off characters, couple numbers, and one or 2 special characters like a dot or a slash or something, it's damn hard to crack, in fact I think it's considered practically impossible.

I would never personally trust services that claim they can recover your money, chances are it will end up in some scam where they steal your money if they are even able to get it back. Call me paranoid.
2848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin dies for the 100th time! on: April 09, 2016, 03:33:42 PM
Amazing. I was looking forward to this moment. On this webpage for those that don't still know, they make a compilation of news that are about how Bitcoins dead, how Bitcoin is doomed, how it is a failed experiment... in general, how Bitcoin is done for. And guess what: We are celebrating death number 100!

www.bitcoinobituaries.com

And of course, it had to be yet another smartass CEO !

Quote
John Biggs is CEO of stealth bitcoin startup Freemit and a former editor at TechCrunch. His work has appeared in publications such as The New York Times, Gizmodo and Men's Health.

Those idiots will never learn I guess.

So how are we celebrating 100th anniversary?
2849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the best Bitcoin Wallet? on: April 09, 2016, 03:25:22 PM
Still using Bitcoin Core since its the software wallet that makes me feel more comfortable. For long term storage as in cold offline storage, I might invest in a Trezor, I think it's a good idea but I still need to study how it works to see if it meets all of my needs.

I predict an insane amount of gambling happening in the next 2 to 3 years once Lightning Network is 100% operative and delivering instant and free worldwide payments all over the planet. Anyone not dealing with their casino in Bitcoin is going to be rendered an idiot in the future, I mean it just can't be beaten, specially once government removes physical cash coins and dolla bills.
2852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spanish League Prediction Thread (La Liga) on: April 08, 2016, 04:20:21 PM
Poor Athletico de Madrid got robbed the other day. Most pathetic referee I've ever seen. I can't believe that Suarez nutjob hasn't been sent back to his country so he can bite and punch people around. Poor nino Torres got kicked out while Suarez was allowed to do anything. Athletico deserved to win the other day, what a scam.
2853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BETTER THAN WESTERN UNION ? on: April 08, 2016, 04:11:41 PM
WU is shit. Once Bitcoin devs deploy the Lightning Network and people start making instant, worldwide, cheap transactions only the same morons that still used horses back in the day instead of cars, will be using WU and other objectively inferior forms of money and transfer.
Bitcoin has already won the war, it's a simple matter of time now.
2854  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will bitcoin reach 500 USD again ? on: April 08, 2016, 03:39:25 PM
Most likely the bitcoin will rise to a higher amount this next month and I think it will be near the 500 dollar.
I think there is a good chance it will be around that number honestly.

I believe the price would go high within months but I think it would be around $450 and on halving we can expect a price around $800 to $1000 which is far better than the present.

Once we are near 4 figures again this time it will not stop at $1000 at all... there may be a $1000 correction because $1000 is always a strong psychological barrier, but then it will quickly correct and as soon as it starts correcting people that have fear of missing out will follow and we can easily see $2000 to $4000.
2855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar Opened , your first impressions ? on: April 08, 2016, 03:31:06 PM
I checked it out briefly the other day, and there wasn't much stuff to buy yet. It will take a couple of months until we see a decent amount of stuff being sold. As soon as people see the benefits of using this over other methods it will just keep growing itself due snowball effect. I m going to wait a while before using it myself.
2856  Other / Off-topic / Re: How kids can "earn" Bitcoin ? on: April 08, 2016, 03:23:19 PM
There are kids making a ton of money in Youtube with their gaming videos, some do unboxing, some do other things, but definitely there are tons of kids in youtube that are youtube stars making more money than their parents do with their regular jobs.
Of course it's probably all managed by parents financially since they can't have their own money... here is where Bitcoin can be big, because Bitcoin doesn't care about age, you can manage your own money.
Maybe in the future all those kids making a lot of money in ad revenue playing Minecraft can get paid directly in Bitcoin who knows.

And two years later, Bitcoin comes along. What is the difference really like?
If I understood the meaning behind this, indirectly the person has said that Bitcoin is no different than Second Life. Comparing Bitcoin to a virtual world does not make sense. Seems like this CEO missed out on Bitcoin as well.
All these people are clueless with their little analogies. It's like when people delude themselves into thinking Bitcoin "is just Myspace, we just have to wait and we'll get to buy cheap Facebook shares". I mean the level of stupidity surrounding Bitcoin is amazing. So many people hoping for a Bitcoin 2.0 because they can't accept Bitcoin already won, and instead of buying while it's still cheap, they are too greedy and just want to keep hoping for a new crypto that will replace it.
I guess not everyone can win.

Moondollars was great. The upside down b i t c o i n word is giving me an headache tho. I think im just going to spend my break at work browsing the web and not posting today, I just can't deal with this tho, my mind is trying constantly to guess what the correct words are and wondering if what im reading is the original post or some of the stuff got replaced by some other easter egg words.
2859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: uᴉoɔʇᴉq really is going down the toilet. on: April 01, 2016, 04:12:31 PM
Never had a problem with the speed of transactions using Bitcoin Core and even from an exchange or from a casino back to core it's still pretty fast considering you are getting the most secure transfer on earth and in a decentralized network.
You will have to deal with it until we have Lightning Network if you want super fast + cheap transactions.
2860  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase Asks Users for LinkedIn Info on: April 01, 2016, 04:10:27 PM
This will only get worse. Anyone expecting any sort of privacy beyond their local Bitcoin wallet is delusional, your privacy ends as soon as your Bitcoins enter a website that doesn't let you to use a VPN/TOR and that asks for your details, but that's what you get if you want total mainstream adoption I guess. You can always bypass it if you really want to tho.
