 KissCool CHINA Cool Kiss

Explanation is that there are NOT trading fees, correct (or are the trading fees really low?)

With no trading fees you have lots of bots trying to squeeze out a couple of satoshis extra on every trade.

It's BotWars

But i would love to know how many actual Bitcoins are on Chinese hands and how many are involved to create these trading volumes.

Bitfinex went from 4 times the volume of Bitstamp half a year ago via 1.5 times two months ago, to a half of Bitstamp's volume the past month and a quarter the past week. Is BFX dying?

There are a huge fud campain

Agree. Feel like as Tarmi said, someone is trying to create the illision of volume in this rise (while perhaps unloading elsewhere). BFX volume has been minimal. It hasn't really dropped, but as a percentage vs Stamp, has collapsed solely due to the action of the 49,98,147 bots, which are doing the majority of the volume on Stamp and account for most, if  not all the increase vs BFX.

Its not just Stamp -  OKC and Huobi seem to have put some more fuel in the volume bots (and thown in a few of those random 50k BTC trades for good measure!

All in all its really tough to know where to look to get any read on current volume trends.
Something fishy going on ... (well it's BTC, so nothing new there Cheesy)

If the activity on this forum is anything to go by, then I would guess the BFX numbers are most representative and the rest is an illusion.

so the magic wall that pops up once in a while on bitfinex is representative?

Either everything is above board or we're being played from all angles.

I must be honest and say hodling Bitcoin has always been a kind of gamble as it could drop drastically or it could go to the moon.

But yes, it is boring now. I did enjoy the price swings even though it's been mostly down!!

Baaahhh...

Buy, buy, buy!

And get some VR Porn while you wait.

@BMB

A nice distraction to the other mess we are facing by all this "refugees" coming in thanks to our silly chancelor.

Where the fuck is that Godwin fella you're talking about? I'd like to ask him a couple of questions.

Am I the only one who thinks this VW-case is friggin hilarious?

Ze Germans have been bashing the Greeks for nearly a decade for fingering the numbers, which consequently led to their economy imploding. This, according to ze Germans, is a sin that can never be forgiven.

And now it turns out that the symbol of German industrial might (VW) has been fingering their engine software to avoid taxes on emission and to get satisfy emission standards. If they have to pay back emission taxes AND fines for every single vehicle sold with these engines it can break VWs back.

In other words: Ze Germans (who historically have been such a beacon of morals and decency [pfffff]) can be thrown into depression because of their own lying cheating ways.

BTW: Congratulations to Greece for the reelection of Syriza! I know this isn't the reddest crowd, but it's heartening to see that the Greek people is standing strong and trying to change how things are done.

Pride goes before a fall.

germany was trying hard to set up an image of straigthness and reliability. the fact that this most epic fuck-up by vw can tear that image down shows that this de-glorification was overdue. german elite is as greedy as any other elite. more arrogant maybe, but as greedy.

i am not sure if the regular german has the slightest idea how seriously this fuck up is seen internationally.

Or how much it will cost. In Norway they may have to pay as much as $10000 in unpaid taxes and fines per vehicle if they are given the same rates as individuals. That is, if the cars are eligible for approval at all. If not, every customer will need full reimbursement; in addition to fines of course.

Now, Norway is a small country, but if we slam a 1-4 billion usd loss in their face I would dread to think what the rest of the world has to offer. Will Germany be begging us for forgiveness? How will it look like when they try to explain to Greece that VW is "too big to fail"?

I'm guessing they're gonna work on all fronts to minimize damage and come to some agreement on the EU level where they will be let off with a fine of a few billion, a small percentage of what they should have paid. But still, Tsipras has little to lose by telling them what's what if they keep rolling their eyes at him.

#Godwinslaw

I'm not a big proponent of erasing history. Especially when some people seem so eager to forget; and brush it away with #Godwinslaw.

"We'll never forget!", that's what I learned in school.

In my mind that should mean that we raise an eyebrow when ze Germans get on their high horse to cast judgement on others. At least the Greeks didn't vote "Golden Dawn" in to clear up the mess. We'll see if ze Germans can deal with things as graciously if this VW shit hits the fan. I'll gladly suffer some gratuitous nazi comparisons if that will remind them to stay on the straight and narrow.

I'd heard about this chip stuff years ago from my auto mechanic friends but they said it was NOT VW .the story I've heard ...it was the guys making big semi truck engines doing such
so it may be we will find out EVERYONE has been cheating in this manner

........if nothing else if it is only VW then we will know this for sure in that every frigging
supposed 'clean' diesel made by ANYBODY is gonna get tested now in a big way by numerous countries...VW better hope it is everyone ..if it is ONLY just them
that was dumb enough to do this cheat with all the countries going after them on regulations on such they will be out of business eventually imho ) Smiley

BMW passed with flying colours in the same test that VW got caught, so it seems it is possible to make them clean. I am interested to see how FIAT is doing though. Renault and Volvo got nicked in the truck-scandal you're referring to, so I would be surprised if they were caught doing that again.

Am I criminally optimistic...

Dogie was barking about some outstanding commissions, apparently.

I'm sure they can sort this out on Skype, e-mail or PM when the sweet nectar of income is flowing. I'm guessing dogie isn't at the top of their list of creditors either.

Tried to do so for over a year, either I accepted a huge cut of what was owed or it was nothing. They then went through the 'lets discredit him so no one will believe him phase' and kicked me out the affiliate scheme even as their largest affiliate. I'll leave it like that for now and let the current activities play out, its not really fair when Guy can't easily discuss or counter what I'm saying due to now soon being part of a publicly listed company.

You can't pay people when you don't have money. When you have a knife hanging over your head you prioritize. Most bitcoin mining manufacturers couldn't make it through 2014, so the fact that spondoolies is still among us is impressive in itself. The SP50 looks like a killer product, plus they've already got a large bulk customer that more or less guarantees sales. Just let things cool down on one front and heat up on another (SP50 sales).

The block-size issue is still not fixed, it can go up like now but it will go down hard when media paying attention again to that debat.

If you plan to buy more coins just wait untill that block-size issue starts again.

When it's all over...than the real uprise will start.

the debate is already priced in

sure, but not the outcome yet ^^

XT loses, Gavin wins. Core won't give miners all the power. There. Run that through your calc.

gavin wins? lol wut?

if anything he won the right to stfu! Cheesy

seemingly the same amounts being sold & bought repeatedly
Ye I just saw that. Broken bot or volume manipulation ?

Funny whether other exchanges will follow, or we end up stuck in the mid-$230s... then over the weekend, isnt there more likely fuel for dumping rather than pumping?  Then we will be back to $227-ish?
If you look at the volume on a larger scale it actually looks like massive volumes of BTC were purchased on Bitstamp. still theres no telling if its real or fake.

If its real then some massive companies are accumulating tens of thousands of coins (the volume on bitstamp would actually be unbelievable in this case and bitfinex would no longer be the largest exchange).
If its fake, then who is paying the trading fees and why? or is bitstamp themselves faking the volume like the chinese exchanges always do?

Could Bitstamp be arranging bulk trades and running it through the trading engine? A sort of "on the chart" "off the chart" arrangement?

Except the price changes, maybe it's a matching service?
