2841  Economy / Service Discussion / Bitcoin mixers become more and more popular for the darknet on: May 20, 2020, 06:39:43 PM
Since exchange platforms bother people and become more strict with regulations, darknet users are abandoning this path and turning to mixers.
The volume of bitcoins sent by darknet entities to mixers increased from 1% in 2019 to 20% in 2020. (x20). The volume of bitcoins received by darknet entities from these mixers tripled over the same period. (x3)
Today it's about the darknet, tomorrow we will have a lot of other use cases...

You are certainly not new to the forum. There is no way someone who just joined the forum starts to make a post like this one. I don't buy your story, it's not the type of post newbies make, and it looks like just another Merits prostitute.

You're not the only one doing the same here since some people tend to think we're all dumbass here.
The funny thing is soon or later they make a dumbass mistake and get caught

2844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin network knowledge poll on: May 20, 2020, 01:29:59 PM
It's a little like asking about GNU/Linux usages to say:
"You can clean your system with a Terminal and commands but if you use a UI like Bleachbit, are you using Linux?"

I answered yes to your poll because even if you're not a "hardcore" user and do not use it to its full potential you're still using it. We don't have the same knowledge or resource; what can be easy to understand and practice for you may not be for someone else. If you expect to see the mass having their own node it's not something that will happen, nowadays or in 10 years. There are those who seek to learn to evolve and those who don't want to because of the way they use it suffices them enough.

It's also like saying people aren't using the internet because they don't have their own router/box
2845  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin ever be 20K USD again? on: May 20, 2020, 10:33:24 AM
The answer to the topic title is "could be, but nobody knows for sure"

Why or why not?

Because, you know, time travel and crystal balls don't actually exist, so nobody knows what future holds.

Nostradamus predicted several events accurately so why someone couldn't do the same with Bitcoin?  Cheesy
</joking>

On the serious side, we have more chances to see it happens than not. I mean, if you see the number of people predicting 1BTC could be worth $100k or 1 sat=1$ and the number of people telling us Bitcoin will collapse soon or later...

It's just speculations but statistically seeing how things are going for a decade there is a high probability to hit the $20k line again. (I can bet money)
At least I hope we won't need to say "The good old time when a bitcoin cost $20k"
2846  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Loaning Plattform no liquidation? on: May 19, 2020, 10:31:04 PM
If there is collateral there is a liquidation, you can't avoid it, otherwise, what's the use of collateral? As @coupable says it protects borrowers' investment.
In case the market is decaying and you want to secure your crypto you can add extra collateral, it decreases the Loan-to-Value, early repayment too (if the platform allows it)
2847  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to start accept cryptocurrency on your site on: May 19, 2020, 09:55:12 PM
There are 3 reasons why not a big number of shops accept bitcoin.

1.-They think is hard to implement.
2.-Our governments don't allow us to do it in a legal way.
3.-A big crash in the price mean a big loss for our business.

Some days ago i was with a lawyer and he explains to me how bitcoin isn't money for my Gov. They call it a Digital Asset, and since it's not money i can't give a commercial invoice if i get payments in bitcoin. That's how things work in Mexico, but maybe in other countries is possible to do it by the legal way,

1- I believe it's a lazy excuse, Any medium or large company has its own devs, if the "too hard to implement" comes from their devs then maybe it's time to change the whole team :p Seriously everything is enough documented on the web, not even need to be a dev or IT specialist.

2- True that, I don't deny it.

3- A lot of the shops/eCommerce currently accepting cryptos get the funds converted automatically in fiat so the volatility isn't a problem anymore. (Yes it uses a 3rd party but still better than nothing)
They could use a stablecoin as a bridge too to avoid this. I'm not sure how but for example once the business receive a number of coins they could create a system to auto-convert in USDT or whatever stablecoin (a kind of trading bot)

The reality is why should they bother to implement solutions to accept cryptocurrencies while nobody is using it (75% of the transactions are related to trading in one way or another). They think about the ROI to be made, and if it's to increase the sales by <1% it doesn't worth to modify your website, accounting methods, legal reports, etc

The best part about accepting cryptocurrencies on your website is that you do not need to open a new bank account. It very easy to integrate, you only need to create a wallet and everything falls in place.

You will soon or later need a bank account when it will be time to convert it to fiat. Because as for now you can't buy food, pay the bills etc with cryptocurrencies.

@LeGaulois

2850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Calling the Bitcoin community to help battle COVID-19 on: May 19, 2020, 04:57:18 PM
We're 3 users left. Since the lockdown is over in a lot of countries, a lot of people think the virus is gone and all is back to normal. There are also forum users who moved to another team since money was involved.

We will go nowhere promoting Bitcoin but the most important thing is we're helping Wink

To use the present lazy time, Many people are seeking different online platforms to invest their fund. Many of them has already invested in cryptocurrency.

Source? Or it didn't happen.
Thousands of people are losing their job, some didn't finish paying the house, can't pay the landlord, have children, don't have enough food, etc and you really think they're going to invest in something risky as cryptocurrencies are? They have no money!

Quote
Many governments of the world are thinking for advancement of digital currency where cryptocurrency has a priority in the line. So, Corona is helping to expand the crypto world.

Source again or it didn't happen.
There are differences between cryptocurrencies and CBDCs (Central bank Digital Currencies). No government is making Bitcoin a "priority line" (expect to tax people), the fact is they 'study' CBDCs but they're still in the R&D phase, and secondly, it's not something new, it started like 3 years ago. COVID19 doesn't make the process faster

Corona Virus enhances the area and opportunity of digital employment. People are now engaging in different online jobs. Many self employed activities have also been created that help to increase the digital employment

False, it's the opposite. The activity has highly reduced and sometimes stopped at 0 for some industries. Self-employed is the first to see the result, since he is at the end of the chain...

Quote
We know world COVID-19 has stopped the activities of industries, firms and businesses. People are now being motivated to involve in online business and online marketing which is beyond the affect of any culprits. Online job and marketing has increase tremendously than before

Source? You think my hairdresser can suddenly say, " I'm now a marketer (whisper: I don't know anything)"
People spam the web and thing they're a marketer

Tightening Family Bindings:
People were busy in their job or business. Very few times was possible to spend with family. Now maximum people are staying at home and passing most of their time with family members. As a result ties of the family bindings are being stronger.

I don't see what it has to do with economics. Do you mean more hugs from family give more money?
2853  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to buy Bitcoin with creditcard fast? on: May 17, 2020, 10:02:40 PM
@timmmers @Indymoney

None of your answers will help @OP since it's not what he/she asked you.

@nerox

Check out PayBis and maybe Coinmama IIRC you can use your credit card to buy up to $150 worth of bitcoins. Another option could be Changelly and similar websites. Look like you can also do it on Binance (https://www.binance.com/en/buy-Bitcoin) but have no idea if the website requires your ID verification, perhaps someone can confirm here.
2854  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CMC updates exchange metrics, Binance now ranks first on: May 17, 2020, 09:29:43 PM
I never really understood the "adjusted volume" parameter, when I use it the ranking looks like pure shit. This is funny considering Binance has one of the highest wash trading volumes, buying CMC was perfect to hide it I suppose... Considering the website traffic is so useless also, I can make QuadrigaCX ranking in the top 10 within a week.

The good thing is I stopped to use it since the  news about Binance acquiring it
2855  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BTCPay Server Hosting. How much would you pay? on: May 17, 2020, 08:48:44 PM
The average price for a VPS with 2 Gb Ram and 100 Gb of storage, the minimal recommended.
But providing a solution ready to go means an additional cost depending on what it is exactly, just the installation or maintenance is included in?

In the first case, I think it's more appropriate to charge a one-time fee (Idk how much it depends on how many time it takes but I doubt people work for 1 buck per hour. Perhaps $20) and with the maintenance included people could add an additional $8-$10

VPS (~$5 to $10) + maintenance (~$8 to $10)= $13 to $20

KYC - Know Your Customer – is a procedure that a business uses to validate its customers identity. KYC usually means gathering several of the customer’s identification documents: government-issued cards, address and utility bills to prove it, phone numbers, email etc.

Thank you, I didn't know what KYC was about, even after reading about it for years, finally, in 2020 I know exactly </sarcasm>.
I think everyone knows about KYC, no need to repeat as if we were 5 years old.

Quote
The most popular way to buy Bitcoin without Identification is using a Bitcoin Atm, However most of this post is dedicated to decentralized peer-to-peer trading platforms.
Some ATMs require your ID, it's worth mentioning.

P2P trading platforms

Here is a more complete list
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5224711.msg53810894#msg53810894

And the platforms may not ask your ID but the other parties (sellers/buyers) may can, it's up to you to accept the deal or not but for example, dealing with Paypal is something popular to ask. If you want to use a bank account (one of the most popular methods) you can not avoid the KYC verification with the bank.

Quote

You can buy this card with cash 100% anonymous?

Not anymore if I'm correct. It was possible before but they stopped this due to AML regulations, ...as usual.
If it's still possible you will have a low limit of 150€ and after you will be forced to verify your account if you still want to use the same card.
(But better to contact them before because I'm totally unsure about this)
