2841  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy bitcoin? on: November 20, 2016, 02:36:13 PM
Do i buy bitcoins or wait?

if you want to invest in bitcoin then do it now and do it with a money that you are not going to miss because you should never invest what you can not afford to lose.

and losing is not just about the price going down.

keep in mind that you need to create a safe wallet to store it and there is always a chance that you lose it by accident like hardware malfunction or your paper wallet get smudged or something. although these can be prevented with back up but you can never be too careful.
2842  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Whats up with ETH? Price dropped to $9.3 on: November 20, 2016, 02:31:11 PM
I just came back from my 10 day vacation to see that ETH dropped to $9.30.... I browsed thru the Eth forum but cannot see any bad news leading to that massive drop.

Chance to grab ETH at a cheap price? Or is it time we focus on another altcoin for longterm profit?

PS: I am holding 2000 ETH and have 5BTC to invest or keep as BTC

ethereum has always been like a dump waiting to happen around the corner and it is no surprise that its price has been going down, specially with the bitcoin price rising and looking promising.

if you want my advice you should always keep your money in bitcoin only and right now it is hard to say if it is a good time to sell or is it too late already.
2843  Other / Archival / Re: Which one is better for bitcoin future? Mass adoption or huge price increase? on: November 20, 2016, 02:26:42 PM
I would prefer for mass adoption because when there will be too many users then it would become the  father of cryptocurrency and it will have maximum market capitalization, fortunately bitcoin has maximum market capitalization. So i prefer mass adoption.

well yeah but mass adoption is not going to happen over night an it is actually a good thing because bitcoin is currently at its maximum capability to handle users and if a sudden surge of usage happens i don't think any of us are going to have a good time.
2844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Korea, Dubai Move to Regulate Bitcoin on: November 20, 2016, 02:21:47 PM
many of the countries have been thinking about bitcoin regulation and there have been talk of making it happen for some time now. the talk is a widespread thing even in developing countries. but it only happens in the countries where bitcoin is a growing thing.
2845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Putting money in lottery is gambling too? on: November 19, 2016, 03:01:38 PM
if i had to choose the top worst ways of spending money then buying a lottery ticket would have been in the top three for sure.

and i actually have the experience with buying lottery tickets and wasting my money on them, and as you have guessed i never have won anything in my life in any kind of lottery game ever. it is always either my bad luck or the fakeness of the lottery system!
2846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH GETTING DUMPED HARD!!!! on: November 19, 2016, 02:55:32 PM
Not only ETH, mostly every coin in the crypto market is getting dumped hard and something in the backgroud is happening, someone wants to control bitcoin I think(china government) and I think people will move their funds to other altcoins.

the drop has stopped and it is changing again. but i think ethereum has some more room to go down as the dump continues.

and also i have to say about bitcoin that that news was mostly a rumor and most probably it can be a lie to prevent bitcoin pump.

Yeah I believe that it can be a lie too, and this happens on these situations where we want to see bitcoin to reach $800 asap, the price of ETH is almost the same comparing with the price a week ago.

The US dollar price of the Etheruem is quite stable while the bitcoin price is quite volatile. That is just due to bitcoin.

The price of bitcoin today raised to $740 and when I check the ethereum price it gets higher too and has a better value, the more coins in the market the slower the value of bitcoin increases.

that doesn't make any sense because first of all what matters in sense of value of a coin is not the number of coins available but instead the balance between supply and demand. in other words price of bitcoin is rising with the speed that its demand is rising.
also the slow speed shows a more logical rise whereas a sudden rise like what ethereum had in the past is a sign of manipulation (pump)

besides your analogy is wrong since ETH has 80+ million coins available while bitcoin has around 16 million coins!
2847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can other cryptocurrency ovetake bitcoin inthe future? on: November 19, 2016, 02:47:51 PM
With many new cryptocurrencies sprouting in the net, is it possible that bitcoin can be overtaken as a top digital currency in the future? Is ethereum  or other well known cryptocurrencies can be a threat to bitcoin dominance?

first of all, a threat to bitcoin?! what does that even mean. do you think when bitcoin was created it was a threat to fiat? of course not, they exist side by side and work independently.

and i believe the same thing is also possible with altcoins, if they are good enough they can become as big as bitcoin and even bigger if they really have something to offer.

but are the current existing altcoins capable of that is the biggest question. and in my opinion the answer is not specially about ethereum with the recent huge dump.
2848  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which trading method is better? on: November 19, 2016, 02:41:43 PM
At present, I am doing a research on the most profitable trading method and I am wondering: Is it better to do btc/fiat trading or btc/altcoin trading?

Which method yields the highest profit?

in my experience since i don't have much of bitcoin, i will prefer to trading btc/altcoin with small price of coins because that coins can get pump and increase too high. and for btc/fiat, i don't want to try because i can not follow the price and its make me confusing to watch the fast movement of the price.

i am like this too but in my experience it is a lot better to trade bitcoin and it actually becomes easier to "predict" bitcoin than it is to predict an altcoin price for example.

that is why i have also started with altcoin trading and i did it with a small amount but i have moved to big boys market which is bitcoin now Smiley
2849  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do you think will be a best time to buy bitcoin? on: November 19, 2016, 02:36:04 PM
Right now can be a good buy time and also maybe in the beginning of the next year but what is already told its hard to say what is also gonna happen with the bitcoin.

Everyday could be a good time to buy bitcoins as long as you have enough money for buying it and you are decided to buy bitcoins. But still there are some consideration that many are still waiting for the right time to buy when the price of bitcoin is some kinda falling down. And in this situation if will do that then your wait will just make you more lose a lot of money for the price is now increasing.

I agree assuming that bitcoin price have linear growth.  But we all know that it does not happen.  Bitcoin have several dips along the growth.  So it would be best time to buy during those dips.   there are some indication whether bitcoin price will go up or down.  Just focus on the news and wait for some bad press and prepare your fund to buy more bitcoins.

Yeah you just need to be more cautious and be attentive on reading some alerts, notifications and news regarding for the bitcoins price. And that is going to be helpful if you want to know when is the best time to buy bitcoins. Also don't forget that you need to have enough fund for buying it before thinking about when to buy.
More than news and expected price from experts I think if you just see the graph of bitcoins in past years you will see when it rises for example in December usually it increases and then starts to decrease slowly.
While whenever you buy bitcoins is a good idea no matter even if for 1000$ but I think around 600$ is a nice amount to buy.

that may be right and some particular times like December in the history have been a more active days for bitcoin price but i don't think we can be sure that, the time was the only factor back then as it is not the only factor right now.

for example there are so many things happening at the moment that have been causing this rise like the Trump thing or the India crisis and ... so you always have to keep these in mind too.
2850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India is Paying $900+ for Bitcoin Amid Cash Crisis on: November 19, 2016, 02:27:26 PM
i never thought i live to see the day that people of a country actually start buying bitcoin this massively and this expensive just because there is a financial crisis going on in their country.

we have already heard some news about it in Greece and two other places before but they were mostly talk and no action. this time they are actually buying bitcoin!
2851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there new people coming to Bitcoin? on: November 19, 2016, 02:18:47 PM
I disagree with all the people saying no in here, I would say that the majority of people don't get into Bitcoin steadily over time, it happens with events in the real world. For example, there was a large spike in Bitcoin users when India announced the discontinuation of 2 of their bank notes.
In your opinion, if the people was getting into the bitcoin. If happen something is big in their environment? And bitcoin has become any backup for them? I may think if this has little chance, although there was no the clear answer about this. No one can calculate about the definite answer for this question. I thought if the steady adoption is there, although if it is just one person for a day.
yes the real number of bitcoin users cannot be calculated, the official authorities may know about the actual number of bitcoin users, but if we just examine our surrounding we can also avaluate the fact about the number of bitcoin for example in my ares when i started using bitcoin, i think therefore just a few number of bitcoin users at that time but  now as i also introduced bitcoin to my friends and other who knew a about bitcoin may also have introduced bitcoin to other people therefore the number of bitcoin users in my area are so much increase as compare to the previous number of bitcoin users.

Theres  no  really accurate  number   on this  because  adoption is  on progress  and  it  do  happen  all  over  the world on  any places. It may  rise  without our  notice.
In my own perspective  there are really  new  people  who  do engage to bitcoin  because its  a good  crypto currency and people would   really see  it   and for sure they would engage to it.  Same as yours bitcoin  appearance  is already  spreading  into my place.

i don't agree with that statement.
adoption if it happens will be noticeable easily. and i am not talking about just one random more person buying bitcoin but a real adoption like even a small one for example a shop starting to accept bitcoin or a bitcoin ATM in some place crowded.
and it will be easily seen on the blockchain with the growth of number of transactions and also in the price as it goes up.
2852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: crypto currencies on: November 17, 2016, 02:53:21 PM
Hi,

after bitcoin what are other 5 top crypto currencies in the market ?

top in what sense?
there are so many different factors that you can compare cryptocurrencies.

- market cap? check www.coinmarketcap.com to see the list
- price? again check above site or any exchange for that matter.
- ability to make profit? all of the altcoins can potentially be that if they are not dead. they can get pumped.
- technology? opinions are different in this matter. i say only XMR and that is of course after bitcoin.
2853  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to increase BTC? on: November 17, 2016, 02:49:30 PM
Hey guys.

How can I increase my bitcoin money? I am a bit curious to those people who can easily make money “btc” grow fast. How do they it correctly?
Can I ask a bit of advice on how to manage it like what you do?
Of course I know many people here want to know too.

Maybe it is good to share a little of it. It would be great if we grow together.

No one can easily make bitcoin grow fast and if anyone claimed they can "specially in private and by sending you a personal message, turn around and run away because they are lying through their teeth and even if they have such methods they will never share.

but there are ways to grow bitcoin but with a more logical speed. and that consists of investing in legit businesses that you can find (not ponzi, no double, no cloudmining) or you can start trading with it if you like.
2854  Other / Off-topic / Re: Forex or Bitcoin on: November 17, 2016, 02:43:03 PM
Alot of people find Forex risky as opposed to bitcoin.

Created a thread to see why people think money cannot be made on forex when traders are making thousands daily on forex.

Bitcoin is great to but it's more of a investment than a trade.

i think this is more about different people with different sets of opinions. and as they say, to each their own.

i have tested forex and i couldn't be successful in it but i tried bitcoin and had good results and then tried altcoin markets and i even had better results, and that is what i am going with.
2855  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nobody is talking about the reason for this rise! on: November 17, 2016, 02:38:04 PM
Maybe just random moves.

You know, someone buys a reasonable amount of BTC, then the bots are triggered, then people see price and volume rising and buy, so we have a small pump with no reason

If price touches $800 I will start to believe that is something else

if it was just once, and one rise i would have agreed on the randomness of it and the bots getting triggered but it has been going on a while and price has been testing the bottoms in the past few days with the drops and since there were some good resistance, it started to rise.

but we can only tell for sure after some time has passed, for now i vote for Segwit as the biggest reason.

p.s. you should have added a poll.
2856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: EBay and Bitcoin on: November 17, 2016, 02:31:11 PM
Some reasons behind lack of eBay bitcoin adoption:

1. PayPal is owned by eBay - and both these companies are not here necessarily to make world a better place but to gain profits.
Introducing bitcoin payments on eBay would cut their profits rather substantially (sellers are paying fee: 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction).

2. There are more than 192 million PayPal's accounts active worldwide. Meanwhile bitcoin is used by less than 10 million people.

3. You need chargeback option on eBay. Bitcoin is not giving you that.

the only reason is the number 3 because it is the crucial part of buying something online from a random person and also the fact that not enough people are using bitcoin.

the amount of fees you are paying with bitcoin (which is a lot less than any other method of payment) is enough to encourage anyone to start using bitcoin but sadly some people fail to see this.
nah ebay actually must create some sort of escrow inside their commercial website rather than just counting on transaction's chargeback,it will more beneficial for both buyers and sellers and also decreasing the amount of someone getting scammed by fraudster, charge back is not really effective by the way

that is true IF ebay was thinking about his customers and what they want. but in reality ebay is thinking about how much more money they can earn. and since apparently paypal is owned by ebay, accepting bitcoin (adding escrow or allowing bitcoin on their platform) means they are shooting themselves in the leg, and no business will allow that to happen.
2857  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Effects of Banning Bitcoin ? on: November 17, 2016, 02:26:14 PM
there is no reason for banning bitcoin. and even if there is chance only those extreme countries with a technically challenged government is going to consider banning bitcoin because of being scared of it. but other countries will continue treating bitcoin as a currency like Japan that announced it too.
besides people are going to continue using bitcoin no matter what the government says about it.
Why would the government ban bitcoin when in reality it helps us to transact fast and cheap online. That benefit cannot be given to us with some legitimate business, and it is our freedom that we need to fight for so  we can still continue to use bitcoin for good.

Yeah. I think bitcoin cannot be banned by the government since it does not cause harm to any entity. All that bitcoin has been doing  is giving benefits to people who are using it. In addition, it is decentralized. So even if it is being banned, the government will not have the control over it and to the people who are using it. As for me, the government will have no track on the ongoing transactions in bitcoin and its users.

Look at this scenario, in a country, a lot of citizens trade the local currency for bitcoins, this will kill the fiat doing this and the government can't to nothing...

And with bitcoin is a lot more easily to keep your transactions anonymous, so the government have a point here...

In some country, bitcoins are banned, the legal status of bitcoin varies substantially from country to country and is still undefined or changing in many of them. While some countries have explicitly allowed its use and trade, others have banned or restricted it. Likewise, various government agencies, departments, and courts have classified bitcoins differently.

those countries are so few which shows that banning bitcoin is not really what countries are concerned with and besides banning bitcoin is not going to change anything since bitcoin can still be used since it is not centralized.
2858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the primary lessons you earn after you gamble? on: November 16, 2016, 08:48:46 AM
So obviously i am seeing more post saying that how to quit gambling for good, how to easily quit gambling, what are the other things should i do to forget gambling. but i doubt that the certain advises being said over and over again are being applied by those person so i am trying to switch the topic of telling instead the primary lessons that you learned after gambling that you can surely used in the future preference when you want to quit gambling.

the first lesson that everyone learns after gambling and it is the sour lesson is that you can not make money with gambling. specially if you are playing the games against the house, because the house always wins since they have to be the one earning money not you!
2859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETC to $100, when? on: November 16, 2016, 08:38:27 AM
many of the bigger coins like Litecoin and Monero are still struggling to keep a good price up and have even 1/10 of that price OP is mentioning and they are facing lots of problems to go up. so why in the world a remainder from a fork coin can even live enough to reach $100 is beyond my imaginations Smiley
2860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if you could buy bitcoin at $0.1? on: November 16, 2016, 08:27:37 AM
Remember the old days when bitcoin was at $0.1?
What if there was something similar that you could buy at that price, would you take it?

yes i remember and if i could find something like that turn back time i would start mining it and hold for the future. and maybe buy some too.

but we live in a real world and this can never happen and all the altcoins so far have never been even close as good as bitcoin.

well i personally don't see anything interesting enough in iconomi that can make me want to believe it is capable of becoming as big as bitcoin!
