2841  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware of Phishing Emails like this on: August 29, 2020, 10:35:22 AM
I mean if you have an account in LA token, and you use that email, there's no way the scammers would know that unless the exchange itself are leaking that information to them, or their site was compromise by the hackers.
I do not believe that, who are Latoken customer care? Humans or robots? Humans. Are the kyc on exchanges encrypted? I do not think so. If governments want the personal details of a user that is suspected, exchanges can give them the personal information needed.
Why are you talking about government? I know they can provide an information to the government if they are regulated but we are talking about how the scammers were able to obtained the email of the user, and there's no way the exchange will give that to the scammer if they are operating in good faith.

Also on exchanges that require only email, there are possibilities of phishing. Only what can make you safe from email phishing attack, is to not use email or any kyc to setup wallets and exchanges, ones you use even email to setup an account, be it wallet or exchange, there are possibilities of phishing attackes.
It's Phishing is what the scammers are trying to do(stated clearly in the OP), but my question is, how did they get that email address?

People working in kyc required exchnage and wallet companies can leak the data because some people among them will have access to it. Also, there could be possibilities of data beaches. Did you think all data breaches could be known to the public? I do not think so. Most data breaches that are commonly known are ransomware encrypted data breaches.

You are going too far with your explanation my friend.

My questions is ; Huh??

or their site was compromise by the hackers.

You can just say yes.

The banks giving now even more money!
And You do not need to worry about paying back loans just wait for 7-10 years and debt will expire.

This is still not an opportunity, It's more like a help and not everyone can benefit on this, maybe only countries with good reserves while this pandemic affects the population globally and it's been killing our economy. You are right that it could be seen as an opportunity for others but this is not for everyone or for the majority of people, so we should be realistic to understand what it is.

People don't complain if they understand the situation, they just have to bear with it and hope that this crisis would pass the soonest possible time. And although you can borrow money, this is not for free, you are still going to pay it based on the terms you agreed as banks never forget debts unless it's called donation.

2844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Evander Holyfield trilogy fight with Mike Tyson. on: August 25, 2020, 10:26:17 PM
Anyway, how old are they? Do they fight as professional boxing or it is just for entertaining? Honestly, reading the news in OP, I am not sure if they will fight as they ever did a long time ago. They are already getting old and seems not an ideal age to fight as professional boxing. They will fight for a charity program, right?

OP @suzanne5223, where is the link of the news?

I'll provide the link here: (https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/709124/evander-holyfield-training-with-wladimir-klitschko-in-preparation-for-potential-mike-tyson-comeback-fight-as-57-year-old-shows-off-incredible-shape/)

This news is old though, since May, during the height of the talks between him and Tyson, which eventually fall out and Tyson proceed to fight Roy Jones Jr and which the schedule fight have been extended to September which doesn't sit well with Jones Jr. And that's why this whole drama of Tyson vs Holyfield was again hype by boxing media.
As usual on where they do hype up something just to spark up interest and if they do saw that public is hooked up then they might really be helding such fight because they do already able to picture out the possible profits that they could make if this one able to push through but for now Tyson do need to settle it down first with Jones Jr. and if Tyson will win this fight then Evander would really be next in line.
The fight with Jones Jr. seems to be a bit cloudy, the fight was postponed and it seems Jones Jr. is not happy about that and wants to be compensated on the time he invested in preparation to the fight, I have no update regarding the fight now but this fight (Holyfield vs Tyson) should not come up if the Tyson vs Jones Jr. is likely to be realized.

Overall, this is just a better entertainment and a pure exhibition which is something interesting to watch rather than with that Golden Boy's comeback in spite of his age. Cheesy

De La Hoya is willing to come back, we can't stop him, besides he will be the one who will promote his own fight, so it's his expense if people would not buy it.
2845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is the future of crowdfunding? on: August 25, 2020, 09:23:54 PM
It is a 2018 topic when ICO or you can call crowdfunding was trending and people were investing on any project that they thought would be a success.

Come 2020 most of these projects failed to deliver promised products or were just scams. In 2020 it is very hard now to go into the market and raise funds through crowdfunding. ICO and then IEO are not generating any funds for startups unless the product is unique and is already working.

I like to add, and unless they are having and IEO on popular exchange. That's actually the most important now as investors get hype on exchanges, and the fact that the coin is traded right away after the sale, they would love to invest as big exchanges provide good liquidity.

Also, people should not be confused with ICO and IEO as they are both crowdfunding, it's just done in different way.
2846  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy over health on: August 25, 2020, 08:49:50 PM
It is impossible to stop the spreading virus, if they closed borders in the Jan itself then it could be a right decision but closing the borders doesn't make sense when they need funds to help their revival of economy which is more important that health to be honest in the view of government. So if people don't want to lose their lives then they have to stop doing such activities.

On the contrary , I heard health is wealth. I think that should me you don't trade your health for wealth. If Costa rica or any other country expose their citizens health because of money to revive the economy, I don't think is a very wise decision. Bad health can kill so much than hunger and with hunger, help for food can easily come.

As if we never know how to do the right protocol to prevent from being infected.

Yes, they open the boarder for gain tourist because they needed this to recover from the damage cause by pandemic. If you look at other countries especially not the rich countries, they are opening their economy despite of the pandemic because no one can ascertain when this pandemic will be over but people have to live and they can't allow people to die in hunger and not all the time the government can give support to people who lose their job to feed their families.
2847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Viabtc Founder Reveals BCH Fork Idea Called Bitcoin Cat on: August 25, 2020, 08:25:13 PM
It's the first time to happen I guess, an original Bitcoin fork has now another fork, wow.. aren't they tired of recycling ideas that won't still sell to the public? Not gonna support this and I'm sure people have already seen that Bitcoin will remain the best investment compared to any forks or any altcoins in the market.

They are most likely using this absurd name to create attention to this project, ....

Most likely, they think it's a game and people would still buy the hype of whatsoever/ Smiley
2848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting: how much knowledge is too much on: August 25, 2020, 11:06:28 AM
betting randomly is only good to do for fun or if you have a spare coin and you decided to try your luck on sport betting game  . this is me because i have zero knowledge on sports but somtimes i also copy the bet slip of other players if i feel something on it .  you are not expecting to win this way but who knows  ?
Doing that wouldn't give you fun to be honest.

You'll only experience the fun once you love what you are doing and you are challenge, because you will try to analyze games before putting your bet.
That means you are not blindly picking a team since you use your intelligence to analyze the data that you have before you pull the trigger.

for those who are veteran sports bettors they can pick teams easily with or without a research but they can do well with a research of course  .

Veterans does not mean winners, some veterans in sports still lose, and there's no such thing as easy pick because we have to carefully analyze the game and find the value so we have a better chance of winning. Someday, you'll understand it if you learn from your experience, but start learning sports betting first.
2849  Economy / Economics / Re: The number of jobless people has crossed one million in US - worrying sign? on: August 25, 2020, 10:38:42 AM
I was scrolling through the news and suddenly read that the number (claims) of jobless people in US had crossed 1.1 million, and in my personal opinion this is bad news for the US economy which is already struggling to bounce back from Covid19 effects.

Furthermore the Democrats have continued to blame Trump for the economic mess that US is currently facing, but the voters yet believe in his ability to stabilise the economy.

What do you’ll think is it right to say that the US V shaped economy won’t recover this year, or it’s only matter of few months before it recovers?.

This is a serious indication that there is a real problem in the country, people are jobless means some industry are not profitable so they are closing the business. I think it will not only need months but probably years to recover as we never know yet when the pandemic will be over, so the damage continues and the longer we are in economic crisis, the longer time needed for the economy to recover.

I'm betting, USA will not be the leading country once the pandemic is over.
2850  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why don't more people invest in btc? on: August 25, 2020, 09:40:12 AM
I'm wondering why the general population hasn't yet caught on and started investing in bitcoin. These days people seem to be willing to immediately invest into the stock market, but not into any cryptos, when it has such a large potential in the future. Why is this the case?

Because investors does not see that potential in crypto yet, they are playing safe, they invest in stocks as it's more regulated than the crypto market. If we are going to weigh crypto against stocks, investors will see crypto a more risky investment compared to stocks, some even see it a ponzi scheme or you are like gambling.
2851  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Despite printing stablecoins daily, why is bitcoin yet to cross above 20k on: August 25, 2020, 07:54:32 AM
Just recently, yearn finance has been making the news of outperforming btc, is this some sort of manipulation with the little supply?

Can you put the link of the news here?

yearn.finance  (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/yearn-finance/) may have a higher price than bitcoin but it does not mean it has outperformed bitcoin. What's you basis on saying that? can you please look at the supply of these two coins and compare it?

here, check again.

2852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple the next bitcoin? on: August 25, 2020, 07:12:42 AM
As we all have seen ripple has been quite strong these past few days and with all that it has done over the past months compared to most other currencies and the launch of xrapid is actually starting to show in its price.
Ripple  cannot even compete with ETH in terms of marketcap, Ripple now rank at number 3 with $12 billion marketcap while ETH has $44 billion, so it's to unrealistic to say that it will be the next bitcoin as that would mean dethroning bitcoin as the king.

Look at the figure, (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/).
Bitcoin has $214 billion marketcap,  so you are saying that Ripple which holds 6% (more or less) only of the bitcoin marketcap will replace it? no.

There is so much talk about ripple taking over bitcoin and being 10$ what are your thoughts on this?

It's even struggling to reach $1 now and aiming for $10, that's non sense.
2853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Evander Holyfield trilogy fight with Mike Tyson. on: August 24, 2020, 10:36:40 PM
Can we actually see a trilogy between Holyfield and Tyson?
If this would happen, of course yes.

If it does happen who do think will win?

IMO, it will be Holyfield because he is beating Tyson during their prime in boxing, but since Tyson is very popular than Holyfield, then I guess we might see a lot of bettors putting their money on Tyson, but come on, promoter has to ensure this fight will be realize this time.
2854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can new crypto beat Eth in the market? on: August 24, 2020, 09:57:34 PM
There are many crypto token listed in coinmarketcap and been traded in top exchanges like binance, Yobit and lDex exchange which people consider as proficient enough in the cryptocurrency market and knowing well that Eth is ranking number 2 position in the coinmarketcap, let's discuss Do you think that any new crypto currency overtake Eth in times of price value can that be possible?

The possibility is always present, but the question is, how possible it is. If you are talking of  Yobit and lDex where this new coin/token are listed, then I guess there's a little chance that it would beat ETH as ETH is listed in different exchanges, big and small that's why it's liquidity is good.

When team decide to make their project, they always aim to succeed and they aim high to beat whatever coins in the top of the list, but it doesn't mean they can easily surpass the success of other coins especially ETH which has been consistent on its position for a long period of time already.
2855  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Polkadot - new top ten member on: August 24, 2020, 12:27:58 PM
can someone tell me where to buy this Polkadot and any info on the project like its sites , potential etc. I'm hearing about it for the first time .

You can see the list of exchanges where it's traded here.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/polkadot-new/markets/

here's the website

https://polkadot.network/

I guess most of us just heard of this project, it's interesting that as per its graph, https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/polkadot-new/.. it only started recording August transactions.
2856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Polkadot - new top ten member on: August 24, 2020, 12:08:39 PM
It's surely a new coin as I never heard of this before, and it's not right to think that a new coin that just recently pumped up would already become a thread to ETH. It might have a better system (smart contract) than ETH but it would not beat the community that supported ETH which was established through time.

Can you please tell me what site you are using as I don't see it in the list yet. (https://coinmarketcap.com/)

I can see it buy there's no ranking yet.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/polkadot-new/
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/polkadot-old/

Quite confuse on the two, that showed my first time to know this coin.
2857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Oscar De La Hoya vs Amir Khan? on: August 24, 2020, 07:39:08 AM

And with so many retired fighters making a comeback, It just shows that boxing maybe dead in this pandemic. Do you guys agree?
No, I don't think that boxing is dead, all sports are suffering from the pandemic but it doesn't mean that they are dying. Oscar's reason is that he missed boxing, Pacquaio already gave him a beating, so I don't know how can he missed boxing for that. It was reported that the has a net worth of $200 million https://www.sportscasting.com/oscar-de-la-hoya-used-his-massive-net-worth-to-buy-a-pro-soccer-team/. So that's a lot of money to buy cocaine.

The struggle is not on boxing only, the entertainment industry are struggling now due to the pandemic.
I would love this one than  Mike vs Hollyfield, Oscar De La Hoya can still fight, he just lose against Manny because Manny is special but Amir Khan is not.

Let's give them a chance, besides, it's not them who will dictate if people will watch or not as probably they have to sell their PPV first with a target amount in order for this fight to be realized.

Oscar  says, if you don't fight, I will, lol.. kidding...
2858  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Google Opens The Door To Mass Cryptocurrency Adoption on: August 24, 2020, 07:21:45 AM
As an existing digital wallet and an online payment system, chances of them implementing cryptocurrency on their system is high.

Look square cash, soon VISA and paypal, and now google, these are the big institutions who wants to adopt this new normal. So let just wait others to do their first step.

It could be as more name companies are involving themselves in crypto. And as Google says, there is demand to they step up and will try to be part of that big pie, a billion dollar market.

I just do hope that the integration will be flawless and we don't want crypto enthusiast complains about the huge fees that are going to be shoulder by us. Closer to adoption? it could be as people realised the true potential of crypto then we might see this becoming a success in the future.

They've seen the demand so that is an opportunity for them to get some good revenue from crypto.
I wonder what happen to their crypto coin, there was no buzz now anymore, probably it didn't pass to the regulatory requirement, or anything related?

Well, what I know is that google try to ban crypto ads, now they would like to add crypto in their platform particularly the google play, I think this is the start that good will start to admit that bitcoin is superior, either they'll go against it or adopt with it, and with this news, we won.
2859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto passive income - a bubble? on: August 24, 2020, 06:41:27 AM
It would depend on the coin you are staking with, and by reality, not all coins in the market has some good potential in the future.

Staking could be profitable if the coins you are investing with is profitable and will survive for long term, hence you can't compare it with bitcoin mining since bitcoin will always stay in the crypto space, it doesn't need to be improve or change, people have accepted it and have adopted it already.
2860  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mistakes,problems,misconcept on: August 23, 2020, 11:14:43 AM
Good information, that's a basic information that everyone should know so they won't be mislead about cryptocurrency particularly in bitcoin.
Especially for investors, they need to know the basics of bitcoin first, so they'll not fall into HYIP or PONZI schemes which have scammed thousands of bitcoin in the past, and maybe it would still happen now and in the future.

However, this one, I would like to comment something. I guess when we say that we store bitcoin in our wallet, that should not be taken literally as an average Joe know where bitcoin is stored.

This is pretty similar to saying, I have stored $1000 in my ATM card which in reality your money is stored in the bank, you can just access it through your ATM card.

\+ Mistake: BITCOIN WALLET IS USED TO STORE/SAVE BITCOIN, - even myself thought it was what bitcoin wallet serves or used for, that you save/store your bitcoin in them.

Correction:
Quote
Bitcoins aren't stored in wallets, it's recorded on a distributed ledger (the blockchain) and the wallet is what allows the user to move the coins from address A to address B, using cryptography.
If the bitcoins were stored in a wallet, we could just duplicate our wallet to double our bitcoins.
