2841  Economy / Economics / Re: Non-Government Economic System (Anarchy) on: September 30, 2020, 03:22:40 PM
How about rules/laws, is that compatible with the ideology? I have always seen anarchy as an ideology that hates rules, laws, orderliness (and government). I wonder what a community will be like without governance.
I don't really believe in any particular man-made ideology. I prefer something that is moral and works.
2842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Openbazaar needs your support on: September 30, 2020, 02:56:34 PM
Thought the marketplace had a deal with Bitcoincash few years ago or so?
Anyway, I think for a decentralized marketplace to work well in Crypto space it needs to be built within some sort of VM cryptocurrency ecosystem and made to interact with other decentralized applications/businesses. More like DeFi on Ethereum network.
A Cryptocurrency Network needs to encourage/incentive a thriving and sustainable economy built around it. You could have lots of interdependent Decentralized Applications interacting with one another in their ecosystems rather than hoping to compete with traditional businesses.
Things will be much easier for cryptocurrency developers once they know/understand how to run a Nation. A Decentralized Crypto Network is more like a Nation.
2843  Other / Off-topic / Re: Defi a time bomb or a new way to future? on: September 30, 2020, 10:43:31 AM
The number of truely Decentralized and safe things on the Ecosystem are likely very few. They are mostly projects that are allowed to do what they like for whatever reason. It makes me abit sad that they are doing this under the name "decentralized" and making the rest of crypto communities look bad. Few in Crypto-space follow best practices or even satoshi example.

Sometimes I feel like the projects are allowed to do whatever they like because of what people call "game theory", or for the sake of having developers make mistakes and fix them or learn from them... as if defi is something experimental. Is it reasonable for them to learn from mistakes by deliberately allowing people's wealth to be destroyed?
I wouldn't allow mistakes to happen atall on the DeFi. Only very little mistakes will probably be tolerated. Things have to be thoroughly tested, experimented on, reviewed etc before they are allowed in the public for serious usage.
2844  Economy / Economics / Re: Why criminals prefer cash (Fiat) on top of crypto? on: September 30, 2020, 09:48:19 AM
I'm starting to wonder why, since Fiat (physical cash) is not as anonymous as one thought it would be.
Wonder why you say so(assuming you mean physical currency, which are still quite anonymous as far as I can tell.)?

If by any means criminals start adopting crypto in mass (especially privacy coins), we could expect a full government crackdown on the entire industry. Which is why I think it's best for criminals to continue using Fiat for the sake of the crypto/Blockchain industry's growth worldwide. But we'll never know what will happen in the future. Thoughts? Huh
Well, if that happens, a transparent/good cryptocurrency will be used legitimately without much problem if the users/community do things right. No Just government will go after good cryptocurrency networks because of the bad/non-transparent ones. By the way, members of a good Cryptocurrency Network should be willing to help or cooperate with any government that has reasonable issues with them, as long as the government respects the Community/Network cheerished values like decentralization, transparency, immutablity, privacy/anonymity, etc. You can't crackdown on things with no central control especially if they are good things. The so called crackdown should be directed at those abusing the good things.
2845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting small amounts on a lot of matches or big amount on couple of matches? on: September 30, 2020, 08:52:16 AM
In my experience big amount on couple of matches or even single bets is better than small amounts on a lot of matches. At least it's like that for me, I am more profitable with larger bets on carefully selected game or max two games, than with chasing a bunch of games with low bet, many times I lose with just one miss, but it happens to me to lose with more misses! I think that even simple calculation can help you here, it's easier to make $5 with $10 bet on single game, than to try to make $5 with 1$ on many matches with low odds!

Your method would well for people who take time to properly research future bets before betting. The knowledge gained from the research should reduce the risk of losing the big/medium bets amounts.

The small bets would work for new/inexperienced bettors who want to learn betting from experience without risking too much.

I think I would go for both for the reasons given... that is: skilled bettors could bet big/medium amounts for well researched  games or competitions while New bettors could learn with small occasional bets
2846  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting: how much knowledge is too much on: September 30, 2020, 08:29:29 AM
Knowledge is everything but with gambling, luck would always had the part for you to succeed.

5% luck, 95%, that's the right combination to succeed, I put a very little percentage on the luck since it's not really something we can consistently have, everyone has luck, and since sports betting is just betting against each other, other people can be lucky also but with knowledge you have the edge to win in the long run.

Ofcourse. I don't know how reliable your 5%/95% is, but I agree that knowledge is important. A bettor who depends on luck could be defeated by very experienced/knowledgeable and skilled bettor. And such experience bettor would likely win consistently and be profitable if he/she bet mostly with bettors who depend on luck in skill-based games/competitions
2847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports Betting vs Real "Sports Feelings" on: September 30, 2020, 07:54:40 AM
Supporting our favorite teams via betting is what most of the gamblers out there are doing especially if they have certain team that they like or a certain players that they love to show a support.
What exactly do you mean by "supporting our favorite teams via betting"? I would never bet only for my favorite team, especially when the odds are really bad. For example, if my team is playing Barcelona, I would never bet on a top result for my team if there is no other reason for that despite being "my" team.

But do you think you mean something different here?

He is probably referring to "emotional bets".
I suspect certain bettors can't afford to bet against the teams they like for emotional reasons.  It's important to bet honestly, I believe. That is one of the ways to become a good bettor.   Beside, one of the importance of prediction/betting market is to find people who are skilled/talented at predictions and use them for good purposes... for example, you could have a weather prediction site/betting-competition and have people bet on future weather conditions.  Those who are consistently correct could be followed by people for accurate/fair daily weather predictions

2848  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can I quit smoking? on: September 29, 2020, 04:39:35 PM
My suggestion is:

- find a motivation = why you want stop smoking?
- reduce the amount of cigarette smoked, trying to reach a very low amount daily (around 2-5)
- set up a date for quitting (likewise one year/next month etc)
- if you have a strong cough DON'T smoke. Human body will craving for nicotine just in the few weeks/days. In this manner you have gained some days of smoking free despite having all negative effect related abstinence.
- if you are without cigarettes DON'T buy it. Close yourself at home (if you can) or use a substitute for few days like nicotine chewing gum.
- make sport (running is the best) when you are not smoking (it helps to clear the lung and meanwhile you can expel more nicotine with your sweat).

These are very good recommendations. Trying to quit to smoke is one of the hardest things I did and I relapsed so many times. One thing I would to add here is to not be too hard on yourself if you relapse. Almost everyone of my friends who wanted to stop smoking relapsed. It's just about to happen. For me the hardest was always when going out and drinking alcohol and people started smoking around me. Don't be to hard on yourself, best to look at every day on it's own.

From my experience, addiction to bad/unhealthy things or lifestyle can easily be stopped gradually, or stopped instantly/permanently through repentance and depending on GOD to heal and hold you together.
Never believed I would ever get rid of a bad addiction until I tried the latter... and it's permanent solution I am very confident will never return if I continue to depend on HIM.
I'm currently not addicted to anything that is bad for me,like bad food, bad drinks, bad lifestyle, masturbation, etc. Wasn't like this before until I totally depend on GOD for help.
And this is absolutely free

.. on charges of paying 12 bitcoins ($ 5,000 at the time) for trying to hire a killer to kill his ex-wife
Wondering if this^ means that bitcoin was worth $5000 at that time, or the total of 12 bitcoins was $5000(at approximately $417 per coin)? Just trying to figure out exactly when this happened.

Many people think that bitcoin transactions are untraceable and that they can be used to finance crimes "completely" anonymously. But the reality is that the bitcoin blockchain sometimes reaches out to security systems to handle cases more efficiently.
Well, nice! I guess this is part of the reason it was made a transparent Leger in the first place... And combining the transparency with proper privacy/anonymity makes things safer for innocent users.
2850  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trying to share wisdom on: September 29, 2020, 03:25:14 PM
Localcryptos claim they doesn't need any documents for trading in their platform but still traders may prefer docs to verify the identity.
LocalCryptos doesn't need any documents for trading on their platform. I use them not infrequently and have never and will never share a document or even my real name with them.

Some traders may ask for identity verification prior to trading, but you are entirely free to not use those traders. Last I read LocalCryptos were trying to implement some sort of secure identity verification system, which would allow users to verify their identity to each other without revealing documents, butbut it obviously still requires a third party to review your documents at some point, so it is far from an ideal solution. They wrote a blog post about it over a year ago, but I've not heard anything since - https://blog.localcryptos.com/preventing-identity-theft-with-optional-id-verification/

I will probably accept decentralized third-party verifier/verifiers to verify my private info and my identity physically, as long as they are not storing the information in their equipments.
I guess the network could simply assign me two to three random verifiers at a neutral and safe location for verification. This is one of few methods of id verification that I think is worth considering.
2851  Other / Off-topic / Re: Some geeks in Crypto-space could make tea making complicated on: September 29, 2020, 10:09:06 AM

Make it simple if it's complicated. Don't make it complicated if it's simple.
What matters most is for as many people as possible to be able to easily learn and understand how to make basic healthy/good tea rich in nutritients. Those who wish to go further in tea making could register for a course or something.
2852  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people claim cryptocurrencies aren’t an asset? on: September 29, 2020, 09:43:25 AM
I think it would depend on this question: "What is an asset" and "Can money/currency be an asset"? If it can, then cryptocurrency can certainly be an asset because it's money.
There are things that aren't currency/money in Decentralized Network/system that can be regarded as assets. Maybe this is part of the reasons people get confused whether cryptocurrency is money/currency, or asset or both.
2853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports Betting vs Real "Sports Feelings" on: September 29, 2020, 08:52:18 AM
Interesting.
I remember back then as a regular follower of important football matches, I didn't really see any sport-betting center. Maybe they existed then in very number (than what we have today), I don't know.  I was only interested in watching my favorite coach and players in their matches. I think I gradually stop watching football matches and started losing strong interest in football when the coach was transfered or removed.     Still don't really know for sure if they(coach, favorite players, etc) were the main reason I became a regular watcher of football matches.

In regards to fans betting against their clubs/teams, I think there is nothing really wrong in that, especially if they are doing it to be honest about the matches their favorite clubs/teams are involved in, their current fitness, their reaction to different environments, etc. What should be problem is betting due to love for money than your favorite teams, or betting due to greed.
I guess this^ can be applicable to the team/club you mentioned.

By the way, I think I would prefer to bet on things I'm passionate about and I follow/know really well.
2854  Economy / Gambling / Re: SkirmishBet: provably-fair turn-based strategy 😳😳😳 on: September 29, 2020, 07:49:35 AM
Is this and Survivalbet of thesame company?

Fight what exactly with robots? Human characters(bosses?), robots or both?
Hope kids are not part of your targeted customers (assming this is a violent game). Would prefer a game where battles are won with different equipments. Not lethal ones. And those who are able to do this without the killings/violence get most of rewards

2855  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hacker started to eliminate tokens stolen from KuCoin on: September 28, 2020, 04:19:12 PM
I think if you are building even a decentralized exchange, it's  important to design it to prevent proven crime money ( likely still in the hands of  thieves) from flowing/exchanging through it. The stolen fund is something a fast system should be able to detect and a transparent community block it(via consensus) from getting exchanged on exchange
Stolen fund should ordinarily lose its Censorship resistant right on decentralized network.
2856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bill to recognize Bitcoin as a currency in Isreal on: September 28, 2020, 10:58:05 AM
I guess this means that tax on bitcoin(the currency) will be reduced for people of the country who simply use it as currency but their incomes earned working for bitcoin esp to earn a living or make profits (mainly as businesses) will be taxed? I can see how even a decentralized company from the country can be taxed this way...(then companies owned by Decentralized Network users will be independent of existing countries hence not be taxed by them)
Sounds fair.

2857  Economy / Economics / Re: Utilizing Blockchain Technology for patent information on: September 28, 2020, 09:50:39 AM
Wonder how they built theirs for Patents. Patenting economy/system for Crypto space or decentralized network will be very different. Just for the sake of not corrupting the space with greed, self-centeredness, etc.

Hope the Concordium is well decentralized, transparent, immutable, trustless/permissionless, privacy/anonymity-friendly, censorship resistant, safe, consensus driven, etc. Those are really important principles of good Decentralized Crypto Network
2858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting small amounts on a lot of matches or big amount on couple of matches? on: September 28, 2020, 09:11:29 AM
If you have been betting for along time without being profitable, it's most likely because you don't have the required skills/knowledge/talents to succeed as a sports-bettor.
From what I have learned here and from my understanding of football-betting and some other skill-based betting, you will need lots of learning, information, data, experience etc to do well in them.
So if you are betting frequently without this things ^, you are definitely gambling.
It's advisable to bet occasionally (& what you can afford to lose) If you don't have the required skills/knowledge/experience to excel in the field.   You should only progressively increase your number of small bets when you start doing well consistently with your bets.
2859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US 2020 Elections data, polls and bets on: September 28, 2020, 08:45:10 AM
Interesting.
I don't really follow politic but I think something like this would probably be nice if it's arranged in such a way that polls are sampled regularly, randomly, fairly etc then results are hidden and people bet on them. Or people could just bet (bets hidden) then you sample.
It'll need to be fool-proof to avoid abuses. And something like that would work great on decentralized network/tech.
I will prefer samplers working individually around the country with live cameras or something
2860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: [Guide]How to bet on Obyte platform. on: September 28, 2020, 08:20:31 AM
Platform looks Interesting. More like placing bet on decentralized telegram, I think.
Who do participants bet with when they place the bets? Is it some kind of design linking bettors and betting sites on a smart contract platform? And I guess something like this would non-custodial?
Bookmarked.
