2861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know any good Airdrop? on: September 02, 2020, 08:08:04 PM
HI
As in topic do you know any good airdrop campaign, something like Energy airdrop, Vite exchange or Blockcain.com stellar airdrop?
It can be KYC because many companies accept when you mark the personal info.
I would be grateful if you could share your favorites campaigns with me.
You sure you want to join airdrop campaigns? Keep it mind, it is not as profitable as it used to be. You will be wasting your time managing those airdrops since eventually those coins that you will receive will be of low value (since every gets them for free. After receiving, most of them dumps their coins/tokens).
And, you shouldn't randomly start joining campaigns and go through KYC process. You will be submitting your information to the developers. Do you know that shit projects after scamming people will then sell your ID for more money? Don't go running around doing KYC with random projects/companies. You might end up being a victim of identity theft!
2862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi Platform on: September 02, 2020, 07:53:00 PM
Starting to learn more about crypto , I find it really hard to know more about it in just a short time , I know it will take a long time and everyday studying to be able to understand it well.

Just as I was starting in this world of crypto  , a new term has been the hot item nowadays , DeFi platform. I'm really trying to do a little bit of everything from bounties , to Airdrops, to Signup to have free bonuses , I didn't get a lot of chance learning about this new thing on crypto.

Anyone , who can simplify DeFi ? 😄
Don't just go running after those projects because everyone is talking "DeFi". The hype is real now, so be careful when you make any kind of investment over there. Fake projects are taking advantage of this hype and are trying to scam people.
Read the resources others provided you and be the judge for yourself if they are going to be a good investment or not. And about airdrops and bounties, don't do those. Just waste of time.
2863  Economy / Economics / Re: Remote Working and Inequality on: September 02, 2020, 07:46:17 PM
-snip-
Many people want to continue to remote-work, companies have noticed that productivity has remained consistent during lockdown, and that continued remote-working offers huge financial savings... perhaps the death knell has been sounded for the culture of presenteeism.
-snip-
Source? I mean where/which companies found that the productivity remained consistent? At least from what I have seen, productivity fell down a lot. Things became harder and every step kinda created confusion. Working at physical office, it was easy to follow the chain of command. But things becoming virtual caused a problem to pass information from one point to another and get instant answers/results. I can tell you from my own experience since I now regularly have to deal with people working from home (while i have to go to the office!) and it is not easy.
Check google help section. There is a huge announcement over there saying that any help might get delayed due to the current situation.
2864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are we cheated by some good altcoins? on: September 02, 2020, 07:22:06 AM
The top 150 coinmarketcap listed the coin "Insolar coin". 1 billion supply coin increase from 500 million ERC-20 token supply. Actually ERC-20 token supply was 50 million then for swap holders got 10 times more XNS coins. But this XNS won't unlock for 3 years. My friend got only 2 XNS after 6 months of swap. We're being forced to hold altcoins when Dev releases supply. Already delisted from so many exchanges. What are your thoughts?

(I don't find the same topic as this coin)
If it is true what others are saying about the coin that the developers are controlling the supply, then yes it is a scam coins and you are getting cheated. No matter how good the altcoin may sound, if something shitty practices take place by the developers, than it is a shitcoin. Making you guys hold, while developers dump clearly shows that the developers wants to make maximum profit before letting the coins die. Don't waste your time with those coins. Get rid of it as soon as possible!
2865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin such a big risk? on: September 02, 2020, 07:17:58 AM
Many people I know formed a bias that cryptocurrencies are inherently risky and you shouldn't invest in them more than you can afford to lose.

I agree with the above statement in a certain extent, but I'd like to ask the community. Is it riskier to place your money in Bitcoin or hold them in a fiat savings account? What's your opinion?

So curious to see the response especially today when we live in times of crisis.
To some extent it is true. The future of bitcoin and other crypto currencies are not known. If every country starts to ban crypto currencies, the price of it is going to fall very badly. But, the chances of that happening is quite low. In fact a lot of governments/countries are supporting the usage of crypto currencies and are trying to regulate it in a proper way so that people can use it legally without any problem.
If you think of investing it for a short term, then yeah there are huge risks. But, if it going to be a long term investment, then remember, the price of bitcoin always tends to increase in the long run, so you will eventually make profit.
2866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are you going to buy into these high rising defi coins now? on: September 02, 2020, 07:05:51 AM
I would suggest anyone (including you) not to invest on those DeFi projects just because the price is soaring. It is happening just because of the hype/excitement. There is a high chances, once the hype is over, we will be seeing the price dropping really bad and a lot of investors that got in late will be making huge loss.
You can see most of the dead shit projects are taking advantage of this DeFi hype. They are just adding defi to their project and they are dramatically reviving themselves lol. People are also falling for those shit projects sadly.
2867  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Image Is Getting Stronger by the Minute on: September 01, 2020, 09:11:45 PM
Yeah, it is true that it is getting stronger every minute, but the problem is like you said, people are using it as a store of value. People aren't using it as a form of currency like they should. I mean, wouldn't it be "more stronger" and better if people used it as a currency? The value would rise more than it is now.
Anyway, the value of US dollars plummeting has nothing to do with the price of bitcoin. This is just a temporary phase due to the current bad economy which is the result of the pandemic. If everything gets back to normal, we can expect the value to go back to normal.
2868  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Slow adoption and decentralized nature of bitcoin on: September 01, 2020, 08:59:00 PM
-snip-
The author of the tweet argues that in order to use bitcoin, people should not be required to know or comprehend theories and technologies on which bitcoin is standing. He claims that for bitcoin to be successfully adopted, it needs to be simplified to such extent when people don't bother to know how it works, why it works, what purposes it was created for, etc.
-snip-
This is the part where I totally agree with the author. It is not necessary for people to know how bitcoin works. I mean it is good if they want to learn, but it isn't mandatory for them to lean. If you start teaching them what blockchain is and the technology behind it, they will start thinking it is a complex way of making payment. Instead they should be taught the very basics like how to keep a wallet secure, how to send and receive coins and what fees are.
There are tons of people out there that doesn't know how Paypal works (the technology and mechanism behind it), yet they can still send and receive payments without any problem.
2869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What area of bitcoin participation is easiest to work with? on: September 01, 2020, 07:41:38 AM
I have seen bounty hunter doing well, I have also seen people who do not participate in bounty and are making it well with trading alone, but I have never seen anyone around me being involved in mining, I learnt mining is more risky and cannot just be done alone, and if you even attempt it probably with your android, you may end up wasting your time and not even making it as the traders and hunters. It tend to take a massive effort to be successful in mining, you need good electricity, good mining wallet, computer with good capacity, and some other gadgets. Considering all this, which of all the participation do you see as least demanding and easiest?
I think you have been misinformed. If you look at the forum, you will see  that the bounty hunters aren't doing well. They all are screaming scam and not getting paid. The way you are saying that those who do not participate in bounty programs, starts trading kinda sounds like you think bounty hunters and traders make the same profit. No, they don't. Bounty hunters make nothing compared to a trader.
Mining with your android phone? Lol, we can't even mine with a laptop, let alone a mobile phone!
2870  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin Casino and Betting Advantages For Online Gamblers on: September 01, 2020, 06:55:02 AM
I found another interesting article, mainly for beginners, which tells that bitcoin gambling is constantly growing and the article lists the advantages of such platforms compared to traditional gambling houses.

Key Elements Of A Bitcoin Casino

With so many online casinos that accept Bitcoin now available, gamblers are spoilt for choice and finding the right one can prove to be more difficult than anticipated. The most important elements that gamblers must take cognizance of when choosing a platform to play on are highlighted below:

  • Wide Variety Of Games
  • Device Compatibility
  • Bonus and Promotion Offerings
  • Efficient and Proactive Support
  • Reliable Gaming Software
  • Highlight Provably Fair Gaming

You can read the articles here: https://blog.bc.game/bitcoin-casino-betting-advantages-online-gamblers/
Almost all casino provides most of the elements you have mentioned. If you go to fiat online casino you will see they provide variety of games (most of them are same like every casino), reliable software and others. You just missed the most important element which is flexible payment option. Other online fiat based casino has bad payment option and is sometimes is a mess when trying to make a deposit. In case of crypto casinos, it is much easier to make the payments. But, I doubt about the "proactive" support. The forum is filled with people crying about bad support for those so called "huge top well known casinos".

2872  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Satoshi Stop bitcoin? on: August 29, 2020, 03:05:55 PM
Satoshi Nakamoto has done a great job in bitcoin invention, his idea is what many of us are celebrating and enjoying today and we are grateful to have such a great idea, we have all believed that by the decentralized nature of bitcoin, it should be unstoppable by any government, even by Japan where Satoshi was claimed to be a citizen. Now that his idea has been propelled far and wide, do you think he has the capacity to stop it again?
Bitcoin is decentralized like he wanted it to be. So he has no control over bitcoin and he cannot stop it even if he wants to. But his decisions will have some impact to some extent (and many people think for this reason he kept his identity a secret so that people don't think he is the leader of bitcoin).
He won't be able to destroy it, but if he still have access to his funds, any movement will cause huge short term impact on the price!
2873  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fake XMR wallet on Displayed in Google/Google Ads on: August 29, 2020, 02:30:24 PM
cryptomaniac_xxx, Anyone who doesn't have AdBlock installed in their browser will see these ads, and it's known that Google can't control the content of these ads - or rather, they don't care too much about anything but profit. Therefore, everyone should protect themselves in the simplest way, which is also free - install something like uBlock Origin, and there will no longer be scam ads as search results.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ublock-origin/cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm?hl=en
Most websites that you access rely on the revenue they generate from advertisements. They provide you with free contents and you should support them. Using ad blocker will not help your favorite websites to survive. Make sure you whitelist websites that you frequently visit, or sites that you think doesn't have intrusive and annoying advertisement.
The way most of the websites are starting to advertise, no wonder everyone is using adblockers.

I just try to search for XMR wallet in Google using this keywords:

xmr wallet
xmr wallets

And Google display a fake and phishing site thru their Ads.
-snip-

Nothing new over here. People will just have to be careful when clicking anything. I remember the other day when I googled malwarebytes, the top ad result was mulwarebytes! Hilarious.
2874  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I can't wait until I can pay using bitcoin at the supermarket on: August 28, 2020, 09:16:09 PM
Just a feeling I have. It's all credit cards and dollars and shit.

Yeah, I'd rather spend the shit money and save my bitcoins, but I can't wait until I can use real money everywhere. I'd rather get paid in bitcoin and spend bitcoin.

For now you can probably buy gift cards with your bitcoin and use it. I know its not the same as buying directly with bitcoins, but still feels good to be able to spend bitcoins indirectly to buy from the supermarket. Almost all of those major supermarkets have their own gift cards.
You can go to bitrefill or coinsbee. I bought some giftcards from them before without any problem (coinsbee has better rates than bitrefill).
2875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't invest for quick gains only on: August 28, 2020, 08:59:17 PM
Do not invest on DeFi projects that are just DeFi, make sure the DeFi project you pick has better utilities,  ChainLink for example has Oracle to offer, few new DeFi projects I see lately are just using DeFi
name, be careful, Here are few lists of DeFi projects that are more than just the Hypes surrounding them because they actually have some to offer.

DIA

DIA (Decentralized Information Asset) is a Swiss not-for-profit and open-source blockchain project with a mission to drive the adoption of transparent, open-access data and oracles just like chainlink

https://diadata.org/

ORION PROTOCOL

Do you guys remember DYCO? That's a new crowdfunding strategy from Maker team and Orion Protocol is the first to try DYCO out and it was successful, Orion is building B2B and B2C solutions on the most advanced liquidity aggregator

https://www.orionprotocol.io/

COMPOUND

Compound is a money market protocol that lets users earn interest or borrow assets against collateral, all from the Ethereum blockchain. Compound was one of the first DeFi companies of this recent DeFi cycle to gain mass attention as their native token, COMP, skyrocketed in value before correcting to current levels.

https://compound.finance/governance/comp

CURVE FINANCE

Launched in early 2020, Curve allows users to trade between stablecoins with low slippage, low fee algorithm designed specifically for stablecoins. Curve is one of the early proponents of yield farming and currently offers 7 pools where users can stake stablecoins to earn rewards, such as new currencies.

https://www.curve.fi/

These are good examples of real use cases and these projects aren't here to take advantage of DeFi hype but to actually deliver real utilities, there are more good DEFi projects out there  e.g Synthetix and Oikos Cash , do good research and avoid investing blindly for quick gains, thank you

No matter how much you tell people not to invest for quick gains, they still will do it for the quick gains lol. I mean who wouldn't want to become a rich guy over night, right?
I am pretty much sure most of the people who invest in those scam projects are hundred percent aware of the scam. They just want to exit with enough profit as quickly as possible. Only those who don't know how these works suffers.
I have seen few projects that has already died but now revived themselves by add the term "DeFi" to their project and people are falling for it!
How are you sure that they will actually be able to implement what they are saying? Never heard of any of the projects that you mentioned. They all look like the same "all talk, no work" project.
2876  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Think about when you invest in hyip website on: August 28, 2020, 08:35:10 PM
There are already a lot of explanation on how on how high yield investment programs and ponzie scheme works in this forum. People constantly warn others about the risks and scams associated with it (like the exact way you are warning!), but there are people who still fall it. They get greedy and without thinking twice they start investing in those programs and loses everything eventually! Again, there are people who "knows" that these are scams, but they still want to try their luck and see if they can escape with profit.
I might sound harsh, those people deserve to get scammed. At least they will learn a valuable lesson from it and warn others.
2877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accepting Bitcoin for sales in a volatile market. on: August 28, 2020, 08:30:42 PM
I'm going to revive my domain name sales business, and I want to offer Bitcoin as the primary payment method. I may expand this to allow some other altcoins in the future, but I want to stick with Bitcoin initially. The problem is pricing in a volatile market. I believe that Bitcoin is going through a correction at the moment, but will increase in value significantly towards the end of the year. Of course that is guesswork on my part, and it is subject to 20-30% volatility. So how so you decide on the price? If I believe a name is worth (say) £5,000, do I ask for 0.6 Bitcoin, or do I make an allowance for price drops or increases? I don't want to quote the price in US dollars or Sterling.

Another consideration is the fact that most buyers will not be experienced in Bitcoin. I'm thinking of suggesting that they join this forum so that they can ask any questions about Bitcoin, and I will give them my Jet Cash account name, so that they they can check on my credibility. So far I have only used Coinbase to buy Bitcoin, but I may provide another couple of exchanges to give them some choice. Do you think it is advisable to offer these recommendations, or should I let them find out for themselves on Bitcoin Talk?

I'm also a long term member of a domain dealers forum, but I don't want to suggest that as a source of information, as that tends to lead them into trying to buy names at trade prices, and I am not desperate to sell at the moment. I've also got a number of crypto names, and I'll probably offer those for sale in the market place here, although I haven't had much success there.
You will have to deal with the risk. You can't charge users extra because they are paying in bitcoin and the price is volatile. You will instead lose users and others won't be willing to pay you with bitcoin when see the price difference when paying with fiat.
You can use payment gateways that will allow users to pay with bitcoin but you will receive in fiat (you have to pay a small fee), since you don't want to take risks with volatility. But, if you don't want to convert it into fiat, then you can update price in realtime.
You can suggest them where to buy but make sure you tell them there might be better places to buy from.
2878  Economy / Economics / Re: The pros and cons of going cashless on: August 28, 2020, 07:04:03 AM

https://www.moneyunder30.com/the-pros-and-cons-of-going-cash-free

Quote
Extra theft protection
You have options if a credit card is lost or stolen, or if an unauthorized person somehow accesses your online accounts. You can replace a card or cancel a payment. Credit card users are protected from fraud through the Fair Credit Billing Act.

Meanwhile, we’ve all lost cash at some point in our lives—and with no paper trail (or e-trail), missing cash can be tough to get back.

The above argument to me is not enough ground to be a pro because as much we lose our cash either to the wind, armed rubber, dropping from your pocket/pause to the floor or bank theft, we can also lose digital currency or coins without recovering.

Credit cards have extra theft protection because the amount of scams involved with digital/cashless transaction is too high. Credit cards can easily be misplaced and stolen.
And reversing your transaction isn't as easy as you think. It takes weeks to get back your money and sometimes your claims are rejected when you lack adequate proofs!
But yeah, the probability of getting back your missing cash is almost zero when compared to digital cash.
2879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: South Korean Exchange Coinbit Arrested For Fake Volume on: August 27, 2020, 07:35:18 PM
I am surprised that the police check the trading volumes of cryptocurrency exchanges and take adequate measures against violators. I think that the issue of possible concealment of income and, consequently, non-payment of taxes will be resolved here.

Coinmarketcap reacted very quickly to this news, making a warning sign for Coinbit.
-snip-
I doubt this has anything to do with faking the volume to save people from getting ripped off. Like I said before, one of the reason was that they were reporting fake income with those fake volumes. So I think it has something to do with money laundering and evading tax.
And when it is about money laundering to evade tax, the government will do anything to stop you and get the tax money. After all, two things are inevitable as soon as we are born - death and tax. No matter how hard you try to evade your taxes, the taxman will eventually catch you up. I am surprised most of the people over here are thinking that the government was protecting their people LOL.
2880  Other / Archival / Re: Betting Systems on: August 27, 2020, 07:05:51 PM
You know if those betting "system"/strategies actually worked, all casinos would go bankrupt. They would make using those strategies illegal and a bannable offence (like the way they don't allow people who card counts to play. I mean it is not illegal to count cards, but if you get caught, they will politely tell you to leave and won't let you play anymore on those casino).
People should know that all those strategies are nothing. Game of chances are all about your luck. If you are lucky, you win. But in the long run, it is always the house that wins.
