2861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dollar Cost Averaging Question on: December 10, 2021, 03:26:39 PM
Do whatever suits you ig? It depends on the amount of effort and possibly the amount of extra money you could pay for fees tbh. Effort being trying to check weekly on when the market is on a pretty good dip though in general, it's a buy whenever you want moment. You're doing DCA, it isn't exactly necessary to take into account the current price since you're expecting profits far far off into the years. Just that you might be that type who wants to buy the dip, hence why I said it depends on the amount of effort you want to exert.
2862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slot Machine Strategy? on: December 10, 2021, 02:05:46 PM
Slam the machine till it breaks and then get a refund since it's "malfunctioning".

Kidding aside, are you dumb? Slots are simply a game of luck, nothing more nothing else. Anything outside of that isn't a "strategy" or whatnot, it's literally interfering with the game itself (such as, well, what I joked about) and isn't something one should actually do since it interferes with the machine itself (if physical) or the code itself (if online) which ig, can be used by the casino to sue you for illegal tampering and whatnot. In the first place, strategy and the sorts shouldn't be associated with luck-based games such as slots. Poker? Maybe, but slots? Nope.
2863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you lose interest to deposit and play more..., on: December 10, 2021, 08:16:56 AM
There is no such thing as perfect online casinos because of the many rules and conflicting laws on the location of their players, there will always be accusations some could be valid some because of misinterpretation of the TOS, so I'd to ask all gambling players do you lose interest to deposit and play on the casinos you're playing if they have unresolved cases.
Do you mean if they f'ed up but just ignored it? Ofc, who wouldn't leave? That's basically showing how much "care" they show for their users. It's simply just like how casinos with accusations against them are ignored by people who want to find good casinos to play, their reputation was smeared due to whatever that accusation was, simple as that. This is when the users rights are ignored okay? If it were simple stuff like sight sometimes crashes and the like, I reckon we can forgive them a few times but if the issue persists, then that might be the time to leave.
2864  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taxes and regulations kill the odds on: December 10, 2021, 04:38:12 AM
As you can read, Germany is the most astringent jurisdiction, with 90% of casino earning being paid as tax! The message cannot be more clear: if you want money, go work!
Poor casinos lmao. Why would they even bother registering for one when it basically looks like they're earning money for someone else. I first thought they were taxing the player's winning but it doesn't seem to be like that, from the article itself it says that Germany is one of the countries that has no taxes on winnings earned from gambling. It's like a haven for players but hell for casino owners.

I've said it once and I'll say it again...
I'm in favor of high rates for everything that is bad for the physical, mental and financial health of the population.
I think it's that fair that governments impose high rates as long as these taxes are duly reverted to the population.
But look at other countries that prefer to simply ban gambling altogether, there nobody can have fun and the government doesn't collect a lot of money from taxes, that's cruel.

High rates is fine and all but borderline unfair is not. It pretty much kills the business after all. I agree with having an equilibrium of casinos being allowed and them being taxed, but if it was like this, they'd just ultimately leave or do an illegal one or a private one (which has its own taxation rules according to the article).
2865  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buy more so you can sell some on: December 10, 2021, 02:52:50 AM
Holding is only for those you can afford to take risks for the rainy day and as long as the earth remains challanges are part of human experience and as such so much would tempt one sell some coin. But there is always a short break for every human figure represented on earth where you have little or no need for money but it keeps coming in and that's the best time to invest other than save.
And also for those that are lazy af or does not have any idea how to ideally do trading. Honestly, just looking at the history of Bitcoin, hodlers never had any rainy days. Those that have had ones aren't really hodlers, they'd have either sold too early or... sold too early. Sides, hodling means investing in a coin YOU believe would grow in the long run. Plus in the first place, investments involves investing what you can afford to lose no?

I guess saving is good, but really that's something that you wouldn't really do. Invest in something, whether it be in you, or in an asset, just well, something. Don't let your money sit there rotting, money is MEANT to be spent.
2866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 3billion casino with a crypto trading floor. on: December 09, 2021, 04:56:15 PM
Hmm seems interesting. I'm more astonished by the fact that they're making it more of a multi-purpose entertainment floor instead of just simply being a crypto gambling casino that has a brick-and-mortar service type. They're really trying to keep up with the times and cater to a lot of customers. Though I guess there may be limitations for the younger audience, that or they're separating and guarding the venues for eSports and for gambling. Might just be the start of a place that has that floor as their center tbh since it looks interesting enough, not to mention the investments they're placing on it.
2867  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whats wrong with btc on: December 09, 2021, 02:38:28 PM
Nothing's wrong. It's a medium that's still working as what it was for, a medium or a currency. As long as the network doesn't collapse I highly doubt there'd ever be something wrong with Bitcoin. Maybe it's not it that has something wrong but rather your expectations perhaps?

Not only me but many traders think same.
Yea a lot of people would probably agree that this is a stupid argument
Whitepaper is just someones fantasy and imagination anyone  can write all kind of things.
Uhm okay? I hardly doubt you'd listen but you can probably study up on what "whitepaper" means first before, well, being you.
Right now its clear what btc for are to be speculatative asset and market movement indicator.
It's clear what YOU want btc to be. Doesn't mean that it would follow what you (or anyone else for that matter) want.
2868  Economy / Economics / Re: I think most people still trust the USD more than Bitcoin on: December 09, 2021, 06:38:54 AM
And that's obvious. Why do you think people still use it? USD has been a global medium of transaction since a long time ago. No matter the issues behind it, it still stands to be a fiat used globally in almost all (if not all) transactions that can involve it. Even if Bitcoin was the better option that some people believe, it still stands that it's in the minority, Bitcoin hasn't spread it's usability as a medium compared to how fiat or USD has, not to mention that well, it's fiat. It's an "official" medium.
2869  Economy / Economics / Re: A majority of Gen Z investors think crypto will make them millionaires on: December 08, 2021, 04:16:35 PM
It isn't that odd imo. A lot of people that showcase their crypto wealth are often assumed to have had an automatic path where they just entered crypto and got rich instantly. Even I would assume as such if I was ignorant since all a person would be seeing is people being successful, and not the other way around. Honestly just seeing how Bitcoin's growth went from its decade experience, any ignorant person would instantly assume that either Bitcoin is a scam, or that anyone who does crypto is an extremely rich person.
2870  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Financial Guard Rail ? on: December 08, 2021, 02:04:02 PM
So instead of trying to stop the gambler from gambling, they instead put out the amount of money that they can freely gamble after subtracting everything that they possibly would need and spend + some emergency fees? That's pretty good imo. It's pretty much a general-purpose calculation that you can use in most of the finances that you would want to spend for yourself. It basically took away all the pain in the ass stuff and just gave you what you actually need lmao.
2871  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Possible Compromised Laptop With Seed in Password Manager? on: December 08, 2021, 10:39:39 AM
So would best option now be use a clean computer or device, download that wallet and type in the seed on it and see if the coins are still there?  If so, create new address for it and move the coins there?  So even if I log into my password manager and the wallet on the maybe compromised computer, then they can't move it if the coins are already moved?
That would be the best option, whether there is or there is not an existence of an external malware, virus, file, threat, keylogger, whatever term you can use that could compromise your pc. The fact is, you visited a fake site, and there was a chance that you had malware or whatnot downloaded.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother about it most of the time since afaik, you need to download something from their site, and only then would they be able to access whatever there is inside since that downloaded file acts as a gate of sorts. This is only what I know though, there might be possibilities of malware being downloaded without you doing anything.

And is there a way to check if there is any malware/keylogger or anything like that on my computer now?  Such as what virus program to buy etc?  I know if i wipe my hard drive clean and start fresh, obviously the any compromised would be gone.  But I don't want to do that.
Try regular anti-virus software. Malwarebytes adware cleaner works afaik. You can also check some signs of malware though, win defender detecting malware, cpu/gpu usage to the roof, files being encrypted stuff like that.
2872  Economy / Economics / Re: Ubisoft Becomes First Major Gaming Company to Launch In-Game NFTs on: December 08, 2021, 07:22:31 AM
Doesn't seem like it'd be good tbh. There has been a LOT of existing industries that have tried to dip their hands into NFT's, nothing really stood out. Especially in this case where it seems like the NFT's they're trying to release are, well, just cosmetics? It doesn't really bring out a lot to value it, except for those hard-core gamers that like to collect it. NFT's have been growing mostly because of the ability of the assets to grow in value, I don't see cosmetics as being one of them imo.
2873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gary Russell vs Mark Magsayo WBC Featherweight Title on: December 08, 2021, 03:37:42 AM
I'd still think Russell would be the favorite for this one. Honestly, even if Magsayo was given the chance to get a title, at most, it's just a chance. I'd say that he was given an opportunity to experience a wider world or something of the sort, but Russell would immediately shut him down. Still, I think it'd be a good experience for Magsayo, might even be able to make it a close fight since Russel hasn't had any fights for quite a few years now. Since the match date is still tba, I'd reckon they'd give him some time to get into shape.

Now, here's to hoping Covid doesn't also fuck this fight up.
2874  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will rise or fall. on: December 07, 2021, 01:56:19 PM
The overall situation is still at a negative but we can expect some small recoveries here and there with people trying to take advantage of the falls to profit a bit. It's still questionable though whether this is the end since there have been a bit of ups and downs the past few days but I reckon we can be assured that a huge dip wouldn't happen again anytime sooner. A gradual dip from a sideways movement is completely possible though, so I suggest watching the market a few more days to determine whether we'd actually go up in the end.
2875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people gone crazy about satoshi on: December 07, 2021, 10:44:56 AM
Because his name alone has value, and that's without him doing anything after letting the world know that he created Bitcoin, now imagine the stuff that he could bring IF he did something now. Sure, some may just be of the opinion that even if he came back and did stuff, the system of Bitcoin that he made is something that can't be touched by anyone, not even their creator, but still, it has value. And that's pretty much why some people are keen on wanting to know who he is.

Though ig that's the minority really, most people who haven't even touched the deepest part of Bitcoin would only probably have curiosity towards the man.
2876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin The Ultimate access on: December 07, 2021, 04:08:19 AM
As I widen my quest for knowledge on Bitcoin and the entire blockchain network, I discovered that Bitcoin has destroyed the rule of the third party. Transactions have been made easy my personal experience made me discover that Bitcoin is the perfect payment gateway for companies and business for flexible payments across borders.
But most of the transactions built up as of yet are governed still by third parties due to the existence of exchanges and custodial wallets. I don't blame them though, most people want the ease of access and qol stuff so having all this centralized stuff helps make stuff easier if you don't want to learn or do anything BUT it does defeat the existence of using Bitcoin for what it is. Maybe when Bitcoin is seen as a currency by most then it would be possible, but right now? It's mostly seen as an investment tbh.
2877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley 2 - December 18 on: December 07, 2021, 01:27:21 AM
Well, that kinda sucks... Especially after Tommy himself said to Jake to "not pull out" lmao. Now I know this may have been forced by the "doctors", but whatever details the story has of Tommy pulling out, it remains a fact that he PULLED out, and that's not going to leave. He just put on the clown mask on himself whether he wanted to or not really.

Now as for Woodley, isn't less than 2 weeks too fast? Or maybe this was already prepped way long before it was announced? Nonetheless, this is a rematch to watch and is hopefully not affected by the new variant. I want to see whether a revenge story is possible for Woodley to pull out after all.
2878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I Doing My Students a Disservice? on: December 06, 2021, 10:31:23 AM
Hmmm looks fine to me. Probably try some puzzles maybe or is that too complicated perhaps (I have no prior experience so idrk)? I'd honestly want to go for something more on the theoretical side, the knowledge that they'd pretty much end up using as part of their common sense in the future but considering the age bracket you're teaching, something fun and challenging would probably be a lot better, something that can stimulate their brains to think. I would recommend some mini-quizzes but when I was their age, quizzes were far from what I'd honestly like to do.
2879  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why exactly is it that people don't like identifying yourselves (KYC)? on: December 06, 2021, 07:07:56 AM
It's not so much as doing something illegal, it's literally just because people don't want other third parties to have their own personal info recorded in their storage. Wanting some privacy and anonymity doesn't equate to someone doing something illegal you know? A matter of preference so to speak.

To the question though, it's like giving the keys of your house to someone else to safe keep you know? Might be an extreme example but it's one example of the sort. This era pretty much shows how information that you can obtain could do wonders if used in the hands of someone who knows how to do their stuff. It's also why I've been staying away from social media. It's like a personal beacon saying where and what you are doing tbh.
2880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to my Bitcoin when I die? on: December 06, 2021, 04:55:48 AM
If I die (let's be honest, that will probably happen), would my wife or family get my coins? What if they don't know my passwords/private key?
Then it's lost, forever. At least if you don't give them access, but if you do, then well it's just like transferring ownership of the assets from you to your family, but if not well, to quote what I just saw earlier.
I believe this guy knows what he's talking about:
Lost coins only make everyone else's coins worth slightly more.  Think of it as a donation to everyone.
So fear not! If you died and you weren't able to give access to your wallet to your family, at the very least, you made a donation to every other Bitcoin holder out there!
