2861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I can't wait until I can pay using bitcoin at the supermarket on: August 28, 2020, 07:04:33 PM
I am planning on opening a small business on my place and I would love the idea of accepting crypto as payment method for it.
I think it is a good way to promote and to help people acknowledge crypto more even in a small way.
We already have a small store and I am planning on opening a food business since we couldn't operate a small restaurant due to pandemic I am thinking of made to order food and delivery business.
It will be a good initiative and if you could provide payment option in BTCitcoin and anyone already using BTCitcoin would pay using them but if your plan is to attract new users you need to provide them incentives to pay them using BTCitcoin if not anyone who never used BTCitcoin will never bother using them. The reason i know this is because i took the initiative to start accepting BTCitcoin in a few business ventures including a hotel and a lodging business and until you give them discounts and offers they will not bother even to inquire about it.
2862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New information from Satoshi? on: August 28, 2020, 05:55:16 PM
I dream of the day that people finally stop wasting time finding out who Satoshi Nakamoto really is(because good luck with that, and knowing who he/she/they really is/are isn't going to help anyone besides the authorities), and focus on other things that's more worth the time instead.
What is the authorities going to do with Satoshi, they can do nothing as the current development is not under him, the only party that is going to gain anything is the media who is after the real identity as they will get some clicks whenever they come up with a theory on who the real Satoshi Nakamoto is and that is what we saw in the past few years and nothing substantial.

Everything he says would impact bitcoin price, he could have huge control over development, and he (as a human) could also be corrupted and starting chilling shitcoins in his twitter to make money.... like jameson loop.
If Satoshi Nakamoto was a media maniac he would have already appeared by now and that is not who he is as a person and he will never shill to make money or media attention.
2863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Junior [PPV on Nov. 28] on: August 28, 2020, 02:57:16 PM
The hype started with Holyfield vs Tyson, what happened to that fight? I thought that was a better match up than this current fight, but out of nowhere Tyson vs Jones came up, so if this fight would still be cancelled, people would really be disappointed, including me.
The hype started because when Tyson announced his return Holyfield also announced his return for an exhibition fight and the news channels started speculating that they are coming back for a charity bout but Tyson said it is difficult to fight a friend as Holyfield and Tyson have a good rapport after retirement and that was the reason Roy Jones was selected as they already had an history as they were about to fight during their active careers.
2864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Crypto be more valuable than gold? on: August 27, 2020, 11:58:27 PM
I have thought that one key advantage crypto (bitcoin, litecoin, Dash, monero etc.) has over gold is that its supply level is fixed and transparent, but can this or features make crypto more valuable than gold?
A fixed supply alone will not determine the worth of anything until the market can generate the interest. The key advantage is transparency when it comes to BTCitcoin and Litecoin even though it was started as a fun alternative but Dash and Monero does not have the transparency aspect and it will be valuable as long as the privacy aspect is kept and the market is able to list these privacy coins in the exchanges.
2865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: South Korean Exchange Coinbit Arrested For Fake Volume on: August 27, 2020, 10:57:34 PM
corruption at Coinbit months ago and that up to 99% of trading volume was "manipulated" on the platform.
Police allege wash trading at Coinbit had produced over 100 billion won ($84 million) in faked income.

The newspaper said it had put off reporting its findings until the raids at the request of the Investigation Department of the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
An accounting firm had reportedly refused to work with the firm after viewing its books.
This is the only aspect i like about regulation, you cannot fake your trading volume and you are not able to manipulate anything and if you do it will have repercussion that will land the individual or the team behind bars and it is a great news that an exchange who thought they would get away with these common practices in the cryptocurrency space would land them in trouble eventually as regulations and the government start keeping a closer watch and hopefully we could get rid of these fake volumes and manipulations from exchanges in the next couple of years.
2866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: August 27, 2020, 06:04:22 PM
Not only Dhoni I think many people really deserved a farewell match but couldn't get one. For example Rahul Dravid being the greatest example. Yuvraj Singh? Suresh Raina? Gautam Gambhir? Despite of the fact that they weren't captains but you just cannot undermine their contributions they were kings of cricket in their times. I had this bizzare idea that BCCI can have a one match with the current indian team lead by kohli against this team lead by Dhoni
It is true that BCCI does not have the sentiments like the cricket fans and you need to understand that the president of BCCI were all politicians and they had no relation with cricket and now things have changed and Sourav Ganguly who transformed the team is leading the board and we will see major changes in that aspect. Apart from BCCI the rest of the cricket boards usually give a good farewell series for their top players and we only got that with Sachin Tendulkar.

Regarding playing with the current team against veterans will not be a fair match.
2867  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid 19 shows how weak People are in the it mind on: August 27, 2020, 05:16:21 PM
This covid 19  shows how weak People are in their mind instead of complaining everyone need to Think how They can benefit from this new situation.
Stop complaining and see this as Opportunity!
People are encountering difficulties they have never dealt in their life time and you think it is an opportunity that you can take advantage, unless you are in pharmaceutical field or in E commerce sector. If you are working in private sector you would be lucky if you have the job in the next 6 months. Small and medium business are completely at a loss.

We have now more Opportunities then ever before!
I think this covid 19 is good time.
The banks giving now even more money!
And You do not need to worry about paying back loans just wait for 7-10 years and debt will expire.
If the government has to write off your loans you need to either become bankrupt in the next 10 years and if that is your thought process then what is the end result. The bank will provide money if you are running a business and if the situation is continuing like this then there is no point in taking the loan as it will create more debt and if you are an employee you need to have the confidence that you can retain the job even if there is a major recession.
2868  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: August 24, 2020, 11:56:16 PM
Ali saved Pakistan thanks to his classy innings. Pressure is on Pakistan because the English bowlers will be coming in hard on the final day. Also, the odds offered for an English win are pretty good right now.
Have you seen the odds for a Pakistan win, it is above 850 for a Pakistan win which is an insane amount to get as odds, Pakistan is just trailing by 210 runs and they have 8 wickets in hand. If there is no weather interruption like we saw today there is a possibility that Pakistan could reach those scores as you never know how the Pakistan players usually play, England is dropping catches as usual and there is a chance considering the insane odds these sportsbook are providing.
2869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: August 23, 2020, 05:56:13 PM
What a time to score this century in intense pressure. Pakistan needed him to bat responsibly and he proved it.
Well done Azhar  Smiley
Azhar Ali played a captains innings when they really need someone to hold one end but England dropped  many catches today and it is really sad to see the fate of the bowlers when their hard work is spilled by the fielders, England need a fielding coach as i have seen them dropping catches in every match which is not a good sign for a top team.

Edit:
Finally James Anderson was able to pick his 5th wicket as England dropped 3 catches in this spell itself.
2870  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think Warren Buffett will change his mind about bitcoin? on: August 23, 2020, 03:22:28 PM
If he changes his mind he better change it now Bitcoin is getting better he might push Bitcoin a little further all the proves that Bitcoin is the best investment are accessible,  any way you look at it people are going to Cryptocurrency and we are in the best time since 2017 for another all time high and this will prove Bitcoin is not a bubble.
Hope you are aware that Warren Buffett is 89 years of age and he is a billionaire and he does not need to change any of his views at this age as he is not even looking to view the cryptocurrency market as an investment on a personal level. If we had a much better scaling solution that could accommodate millions of transaction then you would have a shot at convincing the naysayers.

2871  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Oscar De La Hoya vs Amir Khan? on: August 23, 2020, 01:12:48 PM
Interesting was comment from UFC Dana White who said  quoting: 'Cocaine isn't cheap'  Grin
Dana White and Oscar De La Hoya are not in good terms for a very long time and whenever they get the opportunity they would swing at each other and the response from Dana White when asked about it was pure gold  Cheesy. Mike Tyson wanted to come back and now all the fighters who were retired for a decade wanted to make a comeback which is hilarious as everyone is looking to grab the opportunity to make money.

I would not be surprised if we see a veteran champions league for old fighters usually Bellator was giving opportunity for these above 40 fighters in MMA and these fighters need a boxing version of Bellator  Cheesy.
2872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Whyte vs Povetkin on: August 23, 2020, 04:32:17 AM
It's surprising that Povetkin pulled off the upset in the manner he did but I felt like Whyte had been overrated recently. He had knocked out a few lower level fighter and the UK fans were saying he would beat Wilder. That was just hype and tonight he got humbled by old man Povetkin.
To be frank it is not that surprising as i still remember his big media engagement and the way in which he was confident in knocking out Anthony Joshua back in 2015 and instead Whyte was knocked out just like he was knocked out this time by Alexander Povetkin. Before the fight i was rooting for Whyte to win as he started planting the seeds to fight Tyson Fury but everything came out crashing.
2873  Economy / Economics / Re: Your economic outlook and your life for 2021 poll on: August 22, 2020, 09:22:49 PM
COVID-19 has destroyed many small business, with the bigger businesses taking their share of the economic pie. I believe many people lost jobs, but some are doing OK.

Curious, as Bitcoiners, how did the COVID-19 pandemic affect your financial situation, and what is your outlook for 2021?
I am financially doomed by the pandemic as i am suffering from heavy financial loss and many are struggling and millions have lost their job in the past four months. The only positive aspect is that the governments around the world is trying their best to support the businesses but it will not be enough in the end and the only solution these government can do is to provide further loans and many small business owners will not be in a capacity to attain those loans.

With the way the market is struggling i am expecting a recession in the coming year which might be worst than the recession we faced in 2008.
2874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: August 22, 2020, 08:32:39 PM
~
You got crawley out  Angry I was expecting a triple ton from him, but he got out just when you made the above post  Cry
Sort of my words and i was shocked as i was watching the match while writing that and got out to one of the rarest form of dismissal in Test cricket and i did not expect a stumping.

England need to change gears now and add some quick runs on the board, give at least 15 overs to Pakistan to bat on. Who know if English bowlers gets lucky with the new ball.. they wont mind couple of early wickets.
Pakistan players were struggling against the seam bowling of James Anderson and they lost 3 wickets and as i expected Pakistan will be struggling to avoid the follow on.

Brother in current situation sending night watchman is never been good idea because right now you lost 3 wickets and if you send this then surely you are going to lost 4 wickets and more pressure currently Pakistani team is out of mind completely they need some good mentor and Misbah is not right man for them.
The idea behind sending the night watchman is to defend the rest of the few balls but the umpire called it a days as soon as Babar Azam lost his wicket, Pakistan needs a good captain to lead the team and he needs to have the freedom to select the team like they used to do in the past, finding raw talents on the streets small tournaments across the country and giving them opportunity.
2875  Economy / Economics / Re: Some are hungry, some are losing their homes - some are doubling their wealth on: August 22, 2020, 06:55:56 PM
We are witnessing a very difficult period, primarily caused by the recession that began in 2008 and which some claim has never actually ended. To make matters worse, the world has been hit by a pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus, which is very systematically eroding the already somewhat rotten world economy. While most ordinary people feel the direct consequences of all this happening, there are those who increase their wealth and do not take a smile off their face.
The reason we say that the recession that began in 2008 never ended is simply because the amount of money floating in the market in the form of debt never reached the treasury and we have seen that the market is printing and pumping fiat cash back in the market when we are faced with the pandemic and it is not a good sign as we might face another major recession in the form of inflation

Jeff Bezos  leads the list of America’s rich is asking for donations for his 800 000 employees, and in same time his net worth is $189.4 billion Huh This is actually the case for some serious psychologists if you ask me...
If you take into account the present pandemic situation it is not a big surprise that an Ecommerce business earned a substantial profit when the rest of the business were forced to shut down and the only business that were going on were through these platform in many countries.
2876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: August 22, 2020, 03:24:56 PM
^Yeah rain could come into play in this match. But if England manages to score around 550 runs by the end of the day, I'm afraid Pakistan will lose this match even if we have rain interruptions. Although, Pakistan bowling seemed a bit better compared to yesterday, Butler has safely completed his century and Crawley is only 14 runs short of his double century. Only way for Pakistan to get back into the game is by breaking the partnership at the earliest then continue the momentum and pick up some quick wickets.
I thought the entire day will be lost due the rain but happy to see that the match was able to resume and England is piling up runs especially Zak Crawley who is 33 runs short of his triple century and he is able to reach that milestone then it would be awesome as this is his first century and then going on to score a triple century would be a record meanwhile Jos Buttler is playing the second fiddle and he is playing defensively which i did not expect considering his strike rate of above hundred in ODI.
2877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why I am focousing more on $ALTS than Bitcoin on: August 22, 2020, 02:23:09 PM
Well I would look for the ALTS MARKET CAP closely now, as it's the major indication of BTC continues uptrend. According to this projection it's not even the beginning of our upward wave I wrote on weekends.

Let's wait the fixation above 12k$ & Alts Market Cap outflow.
It is a much broader term to focus on the altcoin market, what are the coins you are focusing as there are thousands of coins in the market and not everyone will move higher even when the BTCitcoin market moves higher or the top altcoins starts rallying. The charts are one aspect but i would like to know why you think that the investors will invest heavily in the altcoin market and especially in that what are the coins you think will have the uptrend.

The chart is not clear, if you included all the shit coins then the output will be completely wrong.
2878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: August 22, 2020, 01:29:04 PM
^  But you have to consider that Edgar is moving down to 135 for this bout at 38 years old and has been KO'd twice in his last two fights.  All the damage over the years fighting is taking its toll.

Edit:  OSP looked deflated...  Bet on Menefield at 1.78.  Lol.
The age is a major factor as none of the fighters moving down at the later of their career never did well and even though he was not a big fighter the weight cut could have an impact on the performance but i feel he can be durable but Pedro Munhoz is much faster and it could create problems and i expect the fight to go the distance.

My other pick will be Joe Solecki simply because of his striking accuracy. OSP is a tough pick as he always have one odd performances, one day he looks like a world beater and the next fight he looks like he is finding it difficult to get to the grove.

2879  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think Warren Buffett will change his mind about bitcoin? on: August 21, 2020, 08:21:37 PM
Warren Buffett has changed his mind about gold as an investment, prompting some people to think that he might do the same with bitcoin. Max Keiser has predicted that the Berkshire Hathaway CEO will panic-buy bitcoin at $50,000.
Why is everyone focused on changing everyone's mind, there are many investors who might not be interested in BTCitcoin and there is no point in trying to change their view point, when it comes to gold as an investment or BTCitcoin you really do not need the recommendation from Warren Buffett or any economic influencer to know that the price would go higher.

2880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase CEO Says Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Must Evolve to Reach Mass Adoption on: August 21, 2020, 07:31:15 PM
^^  @Midas111 What are you talking about  Roll Eyes.

He is clearly CEO not IT guy tho, its not that easy. You can scale things to some point but then you push boundaries for sacrifices only.
There is no perfect solution, thats why Bitcoin won't scale infinitely, layers two will be needed or Bitcoin will become/stay store of value at its core.
In what world you are living, all the IT companies are owned by nerds who are expert in the trade and if you are not having any idea who Brian Armstrong is he is a double major in Computer Science and Economics including masters, so he is an expert in the field. There is no perfect solution for scaling but that does not mean that we will not be having that in the future.
